  • Sony you are terrible right now in your support

sony with this policy you will really lose a lot of users! while all new phones like xperia u , go , sola and others and while the powerful xperia 2011 phones won't get jellybean, xperia p using the same novathor and xperia j using far less caapble cortex a 5 CPU and adreno 200 gpu are getting jellybean while samsung is providing a lot of phones especially galaxy music and galaxy mini 2 and ace plus jellybean! and also how does it come that your useless xperia j will get jellybean earlier than the costly powerful flagship xperia s and  updates are very very late when comparing to all others , or at least chagh the upgrade to android 4.2.1 not 4.1.2!!!!!!also change your policy about your customer support , nobody ever replies on us while helpful super users are wasting all their time on helping us for nothing as a benefit!

  • Verizon you're terrible...

My finacee that I moved in with was about to renew her service, but after seeing that you treat new customers better with cheaper deals, while raising prices on existing customers, we decided to just put the services in my name since I'm a new customer.
    1. Recap since December 26th:
    2. You've had us without phone for a week over the holidays.
    3. It took 5 rescheduled installs, 3 of which I came home for to find out they were cancelled with no heads up.
    4. Just received my newest bill found out that my service changed to an internet package that wasn't even an option... 25/25?
    5. Paid a bill for January and just received another one for January and February that's not the agreed package or amount... which ironically I was supposed to get the first month free per your customer support rep after you butchered my install.
I love fios internet, but can honestly say I hate my experience with Verizon thus far and now I get to waste more time talking with your customer service reps who will apologize for the inconvienance and not get my issue resolved. All while you continue to send me incorrect bills.
Where do I send my bill for the 15 hours of lost wages and time I'm spending talking with my service provider?

  • Terrible reception after Jelly Bean update

The morning after upgrading to Jelly Bean my phone suddenly began having terrible reception issues.  At home I normally get about 2-3 bars but I have never had any issues getting calls out or in or texting... Now I get one bar and absolutely cannot call out or text out AT ALL...  I can receive texts, but I get no calls.  Sometimes it will say that I have no service, even when I have one or two bars...
Even when I drive closer to town I can't call out until I get 4 or 5 bars...  even then reception is poor and calls are dropped for no reason.  Literally this phone has gone from working beautifully to being absolutely worthless as a phone.  Wireless still works fine at home and I still get 3G/4G service...  It also always says I'm Roaming at home or if I have less than 3 bars...
I have tried *228 and even reset the phone to factory defaults with a full wipe.  No beuno...  Obviously I've tried numerous reboots as well...
I'm not sure if the Jelly Bean update is a coincedence, but something is definitely up with my phone...
    Suggestions?

Javaslinger, I'm sad to see that you've developed signal issues on your phone after the software update. Updates should bring enhancements and fix bugs, not cause issues. It looks like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting already. If you have a battery saver, please uninstall as these can turn off data to save battery, causing signal issues.
If still having issues, we'll need to submit more info to our product team.
    1) Provide network type and network strength details observed on phone, Menu>Setting>About Phone> Phone status> network type and network strength parameters.
    2) What type of network service issues are observed on device? Like call drop, browsing failures, SMS etc..
    3) Do you see any flickering in "network type" icon at the time of issue happened.
    4) Is the issue random / always ?
    5) Is the issue limited to a location/region or does he have problem everywhere you visit?

  • Verizon Jelly Bean update causing multiple texts?

Yesterday I updated to the lastest Jelly Bean from Verizon (OTA, finally got it after hours of clearing data, etc.) but now, for some reason I keep receiving multiple text from people. They would send it, but then i'd get it 2 or 3 times. Just wondering if its possible when I downloaded the update something when wrong and they system didn't realize it.

        Hi there Drake90001,
Getting the most recent software update is super exciting and I definitely want your phone to run smoothly. I will be delighted to provide some suggestions.
As with any software update in our world of technology, anything can happen. I would have to say yes it is possible.  It may also be due to third party applications not being updated to function with the new software yet.
Are you using the native messaging application or something else?
Are you noticing it with anyone who messages you or is it only select numbers?
Have you noticed it happening only when you're in certain locations?
    Keep us updated!
    Thanks,

  • Verizon US Jelly Bean 4.1 release date?

So when is the 4.1 Jelly Bean coming to Verizon in the US? And the "coming soon" reply is very tiresome. Sprint in the US got there. And supposedly I read that T-Mobile is next.....come on really?!

You're never going to get a firm release date because the minute they do that, heaven forbid something comes up that would delay the release, all the people asking for a release date would be screaming to high heaven about Verizon "promised" to release it on such and such a date and now went back on thier promise.
They take less heat by not giving out a firm release date.  They'll release it when they release it... not a second before.  All I can say is we will get it. I don't know exactly when but we will get it.
Like my mom used to say to me when I was little and I wanted something and wanted it now, "Patience little one". Then when I got older she'd say, "Good things come to those who wait".
So, I remain, Patiently waiting for the release of my next smartphone in the Summer of 2014.

  • Does verizon still have a price guarantee if you are within your 14 day return window?

    Hello,
I bought a RAZR MAXX HD for $299.99 and plan off Verizon's website on 12/13. Phone delivered to my house 12/14 and activated 12/15.
On 12/18 I notice on Verizon's website that phone is now $249.99. I had heard that as long as you are within your 14-day return window,
you can get a credit for the price difference. Sounds good!
    Here's where the misery begins:
    - 12/19 I call customer service @ *611 and am told I am SOL. I could return the phone and order again, but
would be charged a $35 restocking fee.
    - 12/19 Stopped in a Verizon corporate store and was told if I had bought the phone in store they would be
able to credit my account $50 (and also that they do it all the time). Told me to call *611 and talk and ask
    for Telesales.
    - 12/19 Called *611 again and asked for Telesales. After being transferred about 4 times, gain told I am SOL.
So, frankly, I've been a Verizon customer for less than a week and am already regretting the decision to switch to them. Why?
    1) I don't think my expectation of getting the lower price within the 14-day return window is unreasonable.
    2) I don't understand why buying the phone off Verizon's website versus buying it in their corporate retail store should make
a difference in whether they can give me a price difference credit or not. If there is a policy, it should apply across the board
within Verizon (it's not like I bought this phone at a 3rd party retail store or website.)
    3) I'll also throw this in; I have extensive experience in sales/customer service and when calling other companies service
learned a long time ago to always ask for names, however, I noticed when being transferred around while asking for Telesales
almost everyone I spoke to before being transferred again was reluctant to divulge their name when asked for it.
If anyone has any suggestions and/or if any Verizon customer representatives on here can help out I'd appreciate it. Otherwise
the clock is ticking on my return window and I might just return it, eat the restocking fee, choose another carrier/phone and
never consider Verizon for anything ever again.
    Thanks again.

I would like to say I bought a Droid Maxx on 10/14 at $299. They then dropped the price to $199 a few days later. I called today 10/21 and said I had bought the phone a week ago and would like to be reimbursed the difference under the price guarantee. It took the lady a little while to get it all set up but she was very cordial and efficient and credited the $100 back to the account. If you are within the 14 day return window they should reimburse the difference. Makes sense for them to do so rather than have a perfectly good brand new phone returned just to buy the same phone.

  • Please be perfect because if you are not, Verizon will screw you

So....heading to Canada like i have done for business many times...and I decide to quickly go online and add the US and Canada plan to my account coverage.  I carried this for years while working in Canada.  I apparently hit the Global Data  button instead of adding the US/Canada plan.
When I returned to the US and got my bill, Verizon charged me $1100 for using my cell in Canada!!!  Thinking this must be a mistake, I called and was informed that since I selected to wrong service on their site.  Even though I explained to numerous unconcerned people that the change in my account indicated I mistakenly selected the wrong option, the best they could do was give me a 20% credit...So I still owed over $800 for my mistake?!?!!!  No matter who I talked to, they thought this was a fair response.
Second mistake:  I thought I had turned off my automatic payment from the bank.  So I went online and paid my bill at the Verizon site.  Unfortunately, a few days later, my bank paid the same bill.  So I call Verizon on what seems to be a simple problem:  Please give me back my money.  They were happy to take my request....and tell me it would be up to 10 business days before it was resolved.  I asked for it to be expedited.  "Sorry, there's no way for us to do that."
WHAT?!?  I am not severely overdrawn, used all of my available overdraft to cover it, and they can't even put a rush on the request.
After working my way through the **, I finally found a supervisor (whose direct report told me she could do nothing to help me) who told me to send a copy of my bank statement showing the check was paid from my account, and then they could release the standard 10-day "let's wait and make sure WE get our money BEFORE we service our customer" hold.
This amounts to a few things for me:
    1.  Be perfect.  if you make the mistakes I did, you're screwed and Verizon's policies absolve them of any reasonable actions to help you.
    2.  Do not modify your account by yourself with their handy-dandy website tools.  If you make a mistake, you're screwed.  Call them and make them make the changes you want.  And get the name of the person you speak with.  And, I would also recommend, record the conversation...just as they do "for training purposes."
    3.  Do not expect that having an account with them for 10+ years and having five lines on the account means anything at all.  They do not care if you are a loyal customer...especially when you make a mistake.
I am actively seeking another carrier...the choices are so numerous and so much cheaper why wouldn't I.  The sad part is I would not even be thinking about it were it not for a total lack of concern when the chips are down.
    Anyone had a similar experience?

I'm not entirely sure that you are right or wrong on the phone recording issue.  As soon as I hear the Verizon message state that "This call may be monitored or recorded for quality and training purposes" I flip my recorder on.  I always tell Verizon that our call is either being recorded likewise or that it might be monitored by other ears.  I do this at the get go so that names are recorded and I hear their response.  A lot of the times the reps, some who work in a call center and some who work from home, some surrounded by screamin younguns and barking dogs and cats fighting....they will flat out refuse and say that THEY don't record the calls, that someone at Verizon does, and if you want to get a copy of the recording that there is a number to call, "I'll get that number for you, one moment........::click.::"  Some say, "Don't tell em you're recording since they told you the call is already."  The recordings says "MAY" which isn't a guarantee that it is.  Best to be upfront since, if the rep[ knows their stuff, they might not mind as much and there's nothing like trying to use in-admissible evidence.

  • When are we getting Jelly Bean for GS3?

Now that Jelly Bean is officially released for GS3, when will VZW release it to its customers? I hope they don't take as long as it took for GB to be released on Fascinate. I would hate to get it from XDA before VZW

Well the international GS3 in UK, ASIA are getting the Jelly Bean update tomorrow as we speak. As far as the US goes, hopefully soon enough...

If you are deployed you have the option to request a military suspension for your account without billing for up to 24 months with the option to call back and extend your suspension. Please keep in mind that any unbilled services up to the day of suspension must be paid when billed in order to avoid any collection attempts like the one described on your post.

  • Updated to Jelly Bean, Account Sync disappeared, how do you turn sync on?

I updated my phone to Jelly Bean and now the account sync function disappeared and I can't find where to turn sync function back on? Anyone else have this problem and locate where to access this function?

Have you tried a factory reset? That fixes most OTA issues.

  • Google Voice Won't Work With Bluetooth Headset After Jelly Bean

I am SO frustrated. I had no idea I was installing the Jelly Bean update when I updated the software on my phone. Note to Verizon Communications team: PLEASE do a better job of communicating significant software updates. I would not have installed Jelly Bean. I learned long ago to stick with factory OS on my phones.
Since the update, I noticed that I could no longer dictate texts and emails. Also, my call recording app no longer worked. I switched to Swype and it would work for a few minutes and then stop.  I could still use my bluetooth headset to make calls and S voice worked (although, like others here, I noticed that it's now worse--it doesn't recognize any contact names I request anymore). After trolling Android forums I found that the problem is with the bluetooth headset. You can still dictate when the phone's bluetooth is on, but when a device is connected, all bets are off.
I almost did a factory reset, but then I read that a hard reset will not restore ICS, nor did it resolve this bluetooth Google Voice issue for the few people who tried it already. In fact, resetting caused more problems (eg., more battery drain and removal of Adobe Flash, etc.).
Does anyone know how I can go back to ICS? Bluetooth and Google Voice are the two features I value most in my phones. This is a NIGHTMARE.

    rcschnoor -
The Bluetooth/Voice Search/Dictation issue is a valid issue for the OP, a valid issue for me and oh yeah, the hundreds of other people affected by the, "Google Voice Search stuck on "Initializing" bug filed here on the Google Android Project page.  Here is yet another reference to the same issue from Android Central.
The "Google Music freezing after Jelly Bean Update on Galaxy S3" is also a valid and documented bug located here also on the Google Android Project page.
So I ask, how does sharing with these people that do have these issues, and are affected by them, that you are not experiencing these issues help in any way?  Isn't that the whole purpose of a community forum to help others?

  • Possible update solution for some Jelly Bean issues on Razr Maxx

I bought a Razr Maxx used two weeks ago and wanted to a post a possible solution to the broken Jelly Bean update. My Razr Maxx (practically new) was slow, lagged, and gave me about 10 hours of battery life. Also, my Wi-Fi was horrible just 10 feet from the wireless router and it ran hot.
Before I chucked it for a used S3 I decided to do what others had done. Keep in mind, the phone had been previously factory reset after the JB update had been OTA'ed to the unit a few months ago. It was put in a drawer as the person bought a new phone.
So to be clear: It had gone through a factory reset but without clearing internal memory and had serious issues. I had cleared the Dalvik cache but it didn't help. Here's what fixed my phone:
I did a battery recalibration. This can be done by running the phone down to zero. Shutting it off and charging it overnight. This may have to be performed twice.
Backed up my files, removed the mSD card and from the OS, erased the internal storage. I also went into the Settings / Privacy and set Automatic Restore to off.
I cleared the Dalvik Cache again.
    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-maxx/232462-how-wipe-cache-without-doing-factory-reset.html
    I  booted into safe mode.
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=50079
From the OS within safe mode, I performed a factory reset and had it clear the internal storage again.
    Started the setup process.
    Cleared Dalvik Cache again.
The result is a smooth "buttery" feel (well, as smooth as this platform can offer) no massive lagging like before where the phone would just lock up for five seconds, no over heating, WiFi is seemingly normal and battery life is Maxx instead of Min. To give you an idea, the phone had been on light use and on for maybe 13 on battery when I did the reset. I did the hard reset from a 65% battery and reinstalled all the apps over WiFi and reconfigured. At 2:30 a.m. it was at 1 percent so I set the screen to 100% brightness and played a video until it died about 3 a.m. Basically the screen was on and the phone being used from around 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. after coming off the charger at 8 a.m. the previous morning.
Will this work for you? I don't know but I know the Jelly Bean in place upgrade on this phone is pretty flaky from the complaints.
If your phone has been turned into a pile of junk by the update, you have nothing left to lose unless you're just using it as a bargaining chit to get a new phone from VZW.
Good luck to anyone who tries it.
If you are trying to diagnose battery issues, I recommend GSAM.

  • Jelly Bean update woes?

I've updated my Razr Maxx to Jelly bean through the About Phone > System Updates option.  It's been a few days now for all the apps and syncing to have settled down, but I'm still seeing the battery getting chewed through now and it's looking like Android OS is using up close to 60% of the battery (averaging about 58%).
I've also seen that with the update certain apps (bloatware) has been removed.  However, I still seem to have a few apps, like MotoACTV & Verizon Videos, present that should have been removed with the update.
I was going to wipe the cache in Recovery Mode before doing a Factory Reset, but holding down the Volume +/- rocker and the power button just boots my phone up normally.  Recovery Mode hasn't been removed in Jelly Bean has it?  I wouldn't think so.
UPDATE:  I did get the boot menu to pop up but when selecting Recovery it only showed me the little Android with an "!" in a triangle over his open chest case... and then it opened right back up as it would normally boot.
Anyone have any similar issues with the update?  Any fixes if so?

Oh, you guys are lucky. Had to get them to send me a replacement Razr as mine wouldn't boot after the update. Rep was friendly and apparently handled 20+ calls on the failed update that DAY. Those techs that post the beta updates to the production server should be fired. You need to freaking test your stupid OS updates before you push them. I understand the stockholders are looking for profit but if people are leaving because you keep breaking their stuff then when the company goes under you're the only one to blame. Also since receiving my new phone it's being a pain to set up. Have to do half of it on my account online from my computer as it won't take inputs from my phone.
