Version application in 2 svn repository

Good Day All,
what is the best practice of Subversion if i want to version my application in 2 or more repository ?
let say in my office i have a svn server and application development will be centralized there.
but when we doing a on site development, all of the development will be centralized to repository inside my notebook.
below is my understanding in using SVN :
- when i import application to SVN for the first time, i will choose version application and select the desired repository location.
- i can only di switch between other repository that in the same svn connection.
- when i want to version the application into other repository (my notebook) the versioning menu from jdev, don't have version application option.
my JDEV version : JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0_GENERIC_111205.1733.6192.1

another question, in my jdev update center, i can't find git extension.

but i found a few blog saying git extension already available for jdev 11.1.1.6

Extremely slow performance on projects under version control using RoboHelp 11, PushOk, Tortoise SVN repository

We are also experiencing extremely slow performance for RoboHelp projects under version control. We are using RoboHelp 11, PushOk and a Tortoise SVN repository on a Linux server. We are using a Linux server on our IT guys advice because we found SVN version control under Windows was unstable.
When placing a Robohelp project under version control, and yes the project is on my local machine, it can take up to two hours to complete. We are using the RoboHelp sample projects to test.
We have tried to put the project under version control from Robohelp, and also tried first putting the project under version control from Tortoise SVN, and then trying to open the project from version control in Robohelp. In both cases, the project takes a ridiculous amount of time to open. The Robohelp status bar displays Querying Version Control Status for about an hour before it starts to download from the repository, which then takes more than an hour to complete. In many cases Robohelp becomes unresponsive and we have to start the whole process again.
If adding the project to source control completes successfully, and the the project is opened from version control, performing any function also takes a very long time, such as creating a topic. When I generated a printed documentation layout it took an astonishing 218 minutes and 17 seconds to complete. Interestingly, when I generated the printed documentation layout again, it took 1 min and 34 seconds. However when I closed the project, opened from version control, and tried to generate a printed documentation layout, it again took several hours to complete. The IT guys are at a loss, and say it is not a network issue and I am starting to agree that this is a RoboHelp issue.
I see there are a few other discussions here related to this kind of poor performance, none of which seem to been answered satisfactorily. For example:

Does anybody have any ideas on what we can do or what we can investigate? I know that there are options for version control, but am reluctant to pursue them until I am satisfied that our current issues cannot be resolved.

Do other applications work fine with the source control repository? The reason I'm asking is because you must first rule out that there are external factors causing this behaviour. It seems that your it guys have already looked at it, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
I have used both VSS and TFS and I haven't encountered such a performance issue. I would suggest filing it as a bug if you rule out that the problem is not related to external influences: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en

Disassociate an application from SVN repository?

Hello all,
Once you have used the Versioning in JDeveloper to connect to a SVN repository, how do you undo it? There are all of these .svn folders and backup and work area folders and I just want to get rid of all of them so I don't have to worry about this anymore. I am the only developer interacting with my code and SVN is just causing more problems than it is worth.
I don't want my application to be tied to any SVN repository, how do I do that?

What do you mean, it's awful? It's nothing really to do with JDeveloper - when you check out the files from SVN, you end up with what is called a "working copy." If you want to turn it into a normal (not associated with SVN) bunch of files, you delete the .svn folders.

Import repository from Designer concerning non-versioned applications (EA2)

I've downloaded last version of Data Modeler -> v3.0 EA2 because correcting bug about import from designer for non-versioned applications.
I tried to import from my Designer connection but I can see only versionned applications ! I would like to see all the applications (like in Data Modeler v2). Version 3 EA2 is supposed to correct the problem ?!
The exact version is V3.0.0.653 ! Is that right ????

On our designer we have ; one workarea and 22 Applications system and several sub-application system. Only a couple on these applications systems are versionned.
I would like to import the 20 applications and sub-applications in Data Modeler but even if I have the Data modeler EA2 I cannot see them ! I was talking about the Data modeler version lattest version (EA2). Is it the V3.0.0.653 ?

How to add a new created table to SVN repository

I am using SQL Developer and Data Modeler both with SVN repository.
If I am adding a new object (fe procedure) in SQL Developer, I have a right mouse menu option to add the new object to SVN. This works fine. When adding a new object (fe table) in Data Modeler, there is no option to add this new object to SVN. Does anyone have an idea how to achieve this?

I found an option to add the object: you can add the object using the pending changes. In the outgoing changes you will find the new object with the icon with + symbol. Here you can commit in SVN.

JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 Version Application wizard : File Backup Error

the JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 Version Application wizard can fail sometimes, showing a "File Backup Error" dialog, with the message
"Failed attempting to back up imported resource
D:\screencast\VersionAppLockedIssueApp-v0.01\VersionAppLockedIssueApp\Model.
Check that there are no file system explorers viewing files in this location and that none of the files are open in other applications before resuming."
This even occurs when there are no other processes (like Windows Explorer or an editor) using/locking the file.
It should be possible to reproduce the behaviour using the example application
at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2011/VersionAppLockedIssueApp-v0.01.zip
which is really nothing special I think, so it might also reproduce using another application.
First open the application and also open the file "browseEmployees.jsf" in design view.
After that, as it seems, the Version Application wizard fails.
Note that it might be relevant that I am using Windows 7, as I can imagine that this could behave differently when using JDeveloper on other operating systems.
Also note, if I try to ZIP the application folder (instead of using the Version Application wizard) after opening the file "browseEmployees.jsf" in design view, I get a message like "WARNING: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Today I noticed that there is a My Oracle Support note about this:
- note id 1353389.1 , "In JDeveloper11.1.2.0.0 the Version Application Wizard Failed with the Error: File Backup Error "
Its "Solution" section currently says:
"The problem is still investigated by development.
But there is a possible workaround for Bug 12912410 by unchecking the checkbox 'Perform Checkout' in step 5 of 6 in the wizard screen. "

SVN repository on local IP address?

I installed all the remote/SVN stuff I could find in Eclipse, and I'm trying to create an SVN repository on a local intranet IP address, but no matter what I do it gives me an error "Location information has been specified incorrectly" with a more specific error message.
If I specify http:// intranetip/thesvnfolder (no spaces), it says
RA layer request failed
svn: Unable to connect to a repository at [the URL]
svn: The OPTIONS request returned invalid XML in the response: XML parse error at line 1: no element found
By the way, I had to break up the URL because this page is saying "You can only use links to eclipse.org sites while you have fewer than 5 messages."

Problem connecting to SVN repository from Safari, works with FF

*Hello guys,*
I have a problem with Mac at work. I need to connect to internal SVN repository (https) first with Safari to see if everything is ok and then with my development client/tool - Eclipse.
Neither works! It just keep connecting and it does not go further.
But when I put SVN url in Firefox (FF) it ask me for SVN password and let me in. IT WORKS...
Probably there is a problem with Keychain because it does not even ask me for password. I just see page loading in Safari but nothing happens. Also in Eclipse, nothing happens when I try to add SVN repository location.
Other guys with MS and Ubuntu PCs can connect to SVN (FF and Eclipse) with no problem.
Where is the problem?
Why my Mac could not connect to this particular SVN.

I digg some findings. When I open the page with Google Chrome it also does not load any thing, just keep loading.
But when I open SVN url (ssl) with Opera, it behave like Firefox. First it tells me that this site is not trusted and after confirming this alert I get password promt and everything is ok.
But there is still problem with Safari and Eclipse. Has Keychain anything here to do with this ???

Seems silly to not allow a rollback from a file repository of previous app versions.

I'm not sure I follow, I have not sync'd the ipad with my computer. I just saw an update in the app store and took it.
I tried to del and install the app from the purchased tab in the app store, that reinstalled v2.1 of the app. This also fails to launch.
I have made two service requests to the developer, no response at this time.
Is there somewhere I can download and install Remote Files version 2 file? I can only find the new version 2.1 in the app store.

I am hoping someone can answer my Version Control queries. The LCM document is limited in its detail on VM.
I am currently testing the BO LCM 3.1 and while it appears very easy to use especially for promotion, the Version Control Manager seems to be lacking in controls and a clear promotion path from dev to test to uat to prod.
We have set up 2 identical environments for UAT and PROD.
And using the Version Control part of LCM creating version control for a universe.
Logged into VM in UAT
We have selected a universe
Added it to VM
Made a change to the universe in Designer
Exported it
Then Checked it in
Can now see 2 versions in the history and the VMS Version. All good
I then click on swap system and log into PROD
The VM history is also there in PROD
I have a number of concerns and questions and can't seem to find the solution to them anywhere.
1. VM seems to be lacking a controlled process from all the environments. Basically we want to deploy following this path;
Dev - Test - UAT - PROD
There does not seem to be any controls or security which would stop you from GET VERSION from the DEV environment and putting that straight into PROD. Obviously we would not want that to happen.
We would only want to GET VERSION from UAT
Similarly for UAT We would only want to GET VERSION from TEST
And for TEST We would only want to GET VERSION from DEV.
Granted, we currently only have 2 identical environments.
But Is there controls that would stop you when in PROD from getting versions from any other system other than UAT?
Also is there any reason why no promotion is required when using VM.
This seems to negate the Promotion Function of the LCM
Any advise would be greatly appreciated with this.

With TortoiseSVN I do not have any problems commiting files. It's Jdev only.
In my opinion Jdev stores the infomation about the svn connections somewhere else because .svn only contains the new ones.
switching is only possible within the same repository. Relocate of TortoiseSVN did the job to move the connection to the new repository.
But Jdev has some problems with that.
I'll try to do a fresh checkout.

Remote loading Multi-versioned application & ApplicationDomains & communication

let's have an application A that loads application B using SWFLoader. Is it possible to have A and B compiled with different Flex SDKs and have the applications in the same ApplicationDomain?
I want to communicate between the applications, for example add some event listener to SystemManager of B. If I use loadForCompatibility=true, I get coercion error (of course - ApplicationDomains are different and we have two SystemManagers, so flex has no idea which one to use).
Any ideas how to achive the communication?

I would be lovely if Adobe created some demo for remote loading multi-versioned application using runtime shared library, with some event communication between applications

I managed to create a SVN repository by preference task, but it needs to be created previously:
1. On an installed Eclipse, create your SVN repository location;
2. Export > Preferences > SVN Repositories > save to file...;
3. Generated preference will be something like this:
/instance/org.eclipse.team.svn.core/repositories/b0e9b8f3072000151709b8c389885bcc=b0e9b8f3072000151709b8c389885bcc;https://server.com/migracao;[email protected];branches;tags;trunk;true;b5c5bdf7-d22c-4644-85fd-b1f39391dfcf;https://server.com/migracao;;false;;;0;
4. Create a preference tasks with this info.
It worked with clean install, and in previous installations it created the location on startup.
Remarks
a. It refers to Subversive plugin;
b. The value "b0e9b8f3072000151709b8c389885bcc" is used internally to get access credentials from Eclipse secure storage, it could be changed, but do it with care on the 2 occurrences, I don't know the consequences!!!
c. The value "b5c5bdf7-d22c-4644-85fd-b1f39391dfcf" is used internally by the subversive plugin as repository UUID, do not change this!!!
d. I you already have credentials to this server saved in Eclipse secure storage it will use them, even with different value mentioned in b remark.
I'm still trying to understand the relation between SVN repository locations and Eclipse secure storage, but this usage seems to be fine...

Copying application system within a repository

We have a scenario whereby a certain application system needs to be copied. The logic behind this is to have an extra version of the application system, after which the source version will be frozen. The newly-made copy will be used as a new work-copy. We do not want to use version control.
When copying application system 1 (AS1) to AS2, it appears that certain references are going crooked. The copying itself was effected by right mouse clicking on highlighting AS1. (Should 'external references' have been checked before the actual copying action?)
After actually having copied the application system, the following happens: Relationships can now be found cross-application system. For instance a business function in AS2 can refer to another one in AS1. This is not the desired effect. We would like for AS2 to act independent of AS1.
Is this possible? Does anybody have any experience in this kind of matter? Designer version 9.0.4.5.6 is used. Any feedback would be more than welcome.

You can export the application system present in the 6i repository into a dump file using Export utility available under Utilities--> Export menu option in Repository Object Navigator and then import it into the 9i repository using the import utility available under Utilities--> Import menu option again in Repository Object Navigator.
If there are User Extensions in the 6i repository, then you will need to extract these User Extensions before exporting the application system and load these user extensions into the 9i repository before importing the dump into the repository.
Extracting and Loading of user extensions can be performed using the Extract User Extensions and Load User Extensions utilities available under User Extensions in Repository Administrative Utilit

Can't connect to SVN repository JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0

I have problems connecting to my Subversion googlecode.com repository with JDeveleoper 11g. I can connect to it using tools like NetBeans, TortoiseSVN and even JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0, but in JDeveloper 11g it refuses to connect.
I have tried setting it up on a different pc using the same repository and credentials, and it works there. I have no firewall or closed ports that could be blocking anything.
I also tried removing JDeveloper completely and installing the complete configuration again, no help.
This is the error I get:

I had "fixed" the problem by replacing the svn module of the 11g version by that of 10g and it would grant me access.
So now I replaced svn version with the original 11g version again to test without the proxy.
This was entered in the dialog that you mentioned:
[x] Use HTTP Proxy Server
emeacache.uk.oracle.com on port 80
I removed the tick off in Use HTTP Proxy Server and I can now connect with 11g.
Howcome there's even a proxy server typed in there, where does it come from? :)
Removing the proxy also made the Check for Updates work a lot better, half the time it wouldn't even find any updates etc.
