Very simple checklist iPhone app?

Can anyone please recommend a VERY SIMPLE checklist app? It's for my 11 year old to keep up with his things.. needs to be very, very simple. Ideally:
Baseball
Snowboard
Bedtime
So if Baseball:
[   ] Glove
[   ] Bat
[   ] Cap
[   ] Helmet
[   ] Batting gloves
[   ] Water bottle
So he could check each one as he gets ready to leave for practice or a game. And then when all are checked, it simply resets to all being unchecked for next time.
I.e. I don't want one for every practice, I don't want any advanced capabilities that just muddy it up/make it more complicated.

There are two likely causes for what you're observing. Firstly, make sure the view controller object in IB has been set to the subclass you coded. Some of the Xcode templates (e.g. "View-Based Application"), have already done this for you, but if you added the view controller yourself, you need to set the class of the controller object manually, using the Identity Inspector.
Once you're sure the controller class has been set correctly (for example, any IBOutlet or IBAction connectors should now be visible when the view controller is examined in the Connections Inspector), we need to consider the difference between iOS 3 and iOS 4.
With iOS 3, your application will always terminate when the user taps the Home button. But this isn't the case for iOS 4. When Home is tapped on iOS 4, the default behavior is to either deactivate your app or continue to run it in the background. In either case your app is kept in memory so whenever its icon is tapped it will return to the active, foreground state. This means viewDidUnload won't be called when the app is removed from the foreground, and viewDidLoad won't be called when the app returns to the foreground.
So if you're developing for iOS 4, you might only see viewDidLoad run when your app is cold started (e.g. the first session after the system has been restarted). That would be software. And, you said "upload." That's "uploading software." Why do you question what you stated?
I don't know where you even want to upload this software. The only way it can be downloaded to a device is through the iTunes store. Do you even know what you want to do?

Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

i put my phone straight into a belkin case that leaves the top and bottom edges exposed. It looks like the anodised aluminium loses it anodisedness (not a word) pretty quickly, the very edge of the aluminium has lost its colour.

Not any more, no. There was a free bumper program back when the iPhone 4 originally came out. It has long since expired.

Looking for simple sample of iphone apps without using Interface Builder

I successfully went through the 'iphone app tutorial' and used Interface Builder, but now want to try creating apps without it.
The UI Catalog sample is too complex, but didn't see anything that just had a view and a button or label.
Ideally I want code that doesn't require any IB usage, but I can't tell if that is possible yet...
Anyone have a link to an easy sample?
Or has anyone created a test app themselves and wouldn't mind posting?
I took a stab at creating one and posted it on the "101" forum, but it would be hard for somebody to try and figure out what I was attempting

How to restore my iPhone apps into new iTunes library ??

I formated my PC recently and forgot to backup my iTunes library,when new login to iTunes on formated PC, the "Apps" page still can see all my Iphone Apps that installed before but all the apps icon on right hand side show in non active icon, when I tick the "Sync Apps" on the top left corner, the box "Are you want to Sync apps ? All existing apps and their data on the iphone " x's iphone" will be replace with apps from this iTunes library" , means if i click "Sync Apps" all my previous apps will gone !!! Anybody know how to restore the apps from my iPhone to iTunes library, so i can continue to Sync new apps while maintain my old apps.

PDF - Very Simple Request

How can I move PDF files from my MacBook Pro to my iPad so that I can read them there? There seems to be no easy way to do this. I even purchased Pages, only to find out that you can't read PDF files in that program. This seems like a very simple thing to do but, apparently, it isn't. Can anyone help out here?

I bought PDF Reader Pro for the iPhone/iPod Touch and it offers a way to put the app in a Wifi sharing mode. I then navigate to it with my Mac in Safari, nagivate to the displayed IP address on the iPod Touch and then click the upload button. They don't have a iPad version yet.
Look for other apps that offer this simple way of PDF file transferring or check with the PDF Reader Pro developers.
Remember - Each iPad app cannot share it's data space with other apps so if you use a PDF reader app I believe only that app can read the files...

Any that ends in a "d" tends to be a dameon process used by the System as a whole.
As in launchd is the process that make sure all the Extensions and Kexts that run the OS are started.
helper would refer to a specific thing (the info you posted offers no reference to that and I don't know off the top of my head)
The su would probably refer to the permissions this item has at that moment in time (su is normally a Terminal Instruction allowing temporary but high level access).
Without more info about a possible link to an action within the OS or an app it would be hard to say if it is a real concern.
It seems to refer to a conflict. It could be that the item is not written for the current OS, is outdated via Upgrades for instance, or written in a way that is now Protected by the way the current OS works.
Console Messages can be helpful when you can attribute them to specific events such as a Crash Log or the Action in an App matching a Time in the Log (you generally have to be watching).

Syncing IPhone apps with ITunes or vice versa?

I have what is probably a very simple question but the more information that I read the more confused I'm getting. I use my IPhone to download apps and then I delete them if I decide I don't want them. I only use ITunes to "backup" my device. I have never downloaded an app to Itunes and I don't plan to; I do everything on the phone itself. It is my understanding that if I sync with Itunes I can first transfer purchases from the phone and then sync the phone with itunes. It is also my understanding that the end result is that the apps on my phone will match the apps in itunes. However, if I deleted 20 apps from my phone but not from Itunes, then syncing is just gonna put them right back on my phone, correct?
All I want to do is backup my phone in case something happens. I don't care what's accessible to me if I'm on ITunes because I never am. Can I just backup my phone and completely ignore the apps? If I were to lose my phone, I could just login to the app store and re-download them.
Sorry for the lengthy question but it seems I'm trying to do the opposite of what syncing is intended for. Is syncing synonymous with backing up?

It is my understanding that if I sync with Itunes I can first transfer purchases from the phone and then sync the phone with itunes.
Before you connect your phone to your computer, make sure that autosync is disabled in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Make sure to have at least one contact and event listed on your computer, syncing to an empty address book will delete your contacts.
Right click on your device and choose "transfer purchases". All bought media and apps from iTunes will be copied to your iTunes library on your computer. Apps you deleted on your phone before will not be transferred, but iTunes will remember that you bought them, in case you want to download them again for free: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Apps you deleted on the phone will not be synced back unless you select them again in the app pane and sync your phone after that.
Transferring your apps to your iTunes library is necessary, because the phone is not supposed to be a backup medium. You might consider that when iOS5 and iClound will be introduced, but until then it's a good idea to have a backup of your apps inside your iTunes library.
To back up manually without syncing do this:
Right click on your phone in the device list and choose "backup". A manual backup without a sync will be performed. See what's saved inside the backup here: iPhone and iPod touch: About backups

While generating HelloWorldApp.war (which is the war file for this app), I specifies /HelloWorldApp as context root (sun specific).
Now, when I deployed it thru Admin Tool and then clicked on "Launch", it displays a page with :

But when I click the button "Press Me!", it says:
"The requested resource (/HelloWorldApp/HelloWorld) is not available."
What should I do to correct the problem?

I need someone to answer a few Find my Iphone App questions?

I lost my phone overseas...I got too drunk and lost it at some bar..I thought I was lucky because I had signed up for the find my iphone app on the ICloud. When I tried to locate my Iphone through the services, It couldn't find my Iphone because it was "OFFLINE" I assume it was because it was out of battery, making it impossible to find it now.
So I requested that my phone be put it in "lost mode", but since it's currently offline, it's Pending! I also added a contact number and a 50$ reward for the return of my phone, so the next time my phone is turned on and connects to the internet, it will lock and the stranger using my phone won't be able to get in to it and steal my info right?...But, seeing as my time is almost up being overseas, it seems very unlikely I'll be getting my phone back. So I might have to get a new phone!
My Question is, if I click on "Erase Iphone" now, it will erase all the data on my phone, And it won't be able to be tracked anymore, that's all fine and good. But the thing is, since my phone is currently off line, it's currently a pending action and won't erase the data unless it's turned on and connected to the internet again....SO, if I were to get a New Iphone, (I am eligible to uprgrade) it would be risky right? Because if I get a new Iphone and get all comfy with a new iphone, and someone turns on my old IPhone, the "Erase Iphone" request will commence and it will delete all the data on my old iphone as well as my NEW iphone right?
Cause I will be using the same Apple ID for my new Iphone! I can only assume that this is how it works....Apple isn't very clear on how stuff like that works.

You don't need to worry. It won't delete anything from iCloud or your new phone, it will only erase the data on the lost phone, and that will only happen if it ever goes online again.

How can i adopt the iPhone App-Structure to iTunes for Sync?

Hello Community!
I usually buy apps or games directly over the iPhone-App-Store and i also manage the folder structure directly on the iPhone Screen.
Yesterday i bought a new App via the iTunes Store on my MacBook (don't know why, i thought it would be no problem)
ITunes is set to manual organisation (the box "App Sync" is not set in iTunes).
So my problem is:
I cannot install my recently bought app on my phone without enable synchronisation with iTunes.
But if i set iTunes to app sync it is going to destroy my folder structures and remove apps i bought with the iPhone EVEN if i click "Transfer Purchases"!
Is there a way to manually install the app without destroying my complete structure and losing apps?
Sorry for the critics, but this is not very user-friendly!

Questions on "Find my iPhone" app

I see there are a numerous amount of threads on lost/stolen iphones.
My phone has been stolen and I have a few questions about tracking it that havent been answered so far.
(Note that my iphone did not have an internet data plan on it. I used it only with wi-fi in all / most of the places I used to go.)
1.)If the thief deletes teh 'find my iphone' app, will I still be able to track it? (They would have been able to access the phone when it was stolen since I did not have a password on it. I am thinking they may have deleted this app first.)
2.)If they turn off the location services, then I won't be able to track them either right? (This is a possibility, but I find it hard to believe that they will use the iphone without connecting it to the net.)
3.)I set a remote lock on the phone. I beleieve if the password is entered wrong 10 times the phone will wipe. Will I still be able to track it afetr ot has been wiped like this? (If I choose to wipe it from www.icloud.com then I won't be able to track it any longer.)
4.)How easy is it to crack the password I set? I don't mean by guessing. I mean, can they take the phone to an 'iphone blackmarket specialist' who can bypass / reset the remote lock I put on it?
5.) How long does the find my iphone app keep a log of the iphone? If I do not locate it, and log into www.icloud.com one year later to see if i can find it now, would I still see it on 'my devices?" Or will it dissappear due to inactivity?
Getting an iphone stolen is not very nice. It's crushing. Investigate in a number of location based apps now.

The reality is this, if you have not located your phone by now, you can most likely kiss it good-by. Most thieves are well aware that when they steal an iPhone, to immediatelly turn the phone off...this defeats Find My Phone. Once off, they restore it as a new device in iTunes and slap it on eBay or Craigslist.
Change all the passwords you ever used on the phone: email, iTunes, etc. Report to the police & your carrier.
