Very urgent !! Doc. types & Doc. no ranges in different views in ECC 6.0

Hello Experts,
Can someone tell me the difference between
Defining Document Types for Entry View
Defining Document Types for Entry View in a Ledger
Defining Document Types for General Ledger View?
in ECC 6.0.
Also should we assign different number ranges to same document type in different ledgers and different views?
Any help in this regard will be duly rewarded and appreciated.
Regards,
Sriram

Sriram:
Document type for Entry view is the scenario where you don't use the New GL functionality
Document type for Entry view in one ledger is where you use only one ledger i.e., a leading ledger (and not non leading ledger)
Document type for GL view is where you have completely implemented the new Gl functionality (i.e., ledger groups, leading ledger, non leading ledgers etc..)
You do not have to maintain document types for all the views.
If you are not using the new GL functionality you only need document types for entry view.
You only need to maintain the number ranges according to how you have defined document types for a particular view.
All the regular document types are already defined for entry view.
The document types remain the same for new GL view as well.

  • Anybody ever created multple PO doc type/number ranges in extended classic?

I have searched this forum, and found plenty of useful threads which would help me determine different document types/number ranges for back-end purchase orders in a classic scenario. (And I have done something similar many years ago on a classic EBP 3.0 implementation)
However, I have a customer who has an SRM 5 extended classic implementation, and who (Based on certain simple criteria) requires a different PO number range to identify certain types of indirect orders. (They also have direct materials procured using doc type ECDP, but that's not relevant to this requirement)
This would obviously have to apply to the local PO in SRM, as well as the backend ECC PO.
It would also need to be derived for orders created automatically via approved shopping carts, as well as those orders that are created via sourcing.
I've copied ECPO via define transaction types IMG step, as well as assigned a new number range.
Just to test, I've also added the second doc type in the BSA attribute for a particular test user - just initially see if it was possible to manually choose when creating a PO in sourcing. However, I could only get ECDP and ECPO.
I have looked at various BADIs to see if I can determine doc type or number range somewhere in the PO creation, but as far as I can see, they either:
    - Seem to apply only to the object type (PO, requisition, reservation etc) rather than the transaction type within that object.
    - Or look like they are too late in the process to influence the doc type and number range (BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI?) ... which doesn't seem to have those doc type or PO number fields available anyway
    - Or I doesn't seem to be trigerred at all when turning requirement into Po and ordering via sourcing. (tried break-point & endless loop in implemnetation of BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW, but nothing happened. In any case the PO number was alreadya ssigned)
If anybody has ever managed this before, or can tell me that I am definitely barking up the wrong tree, it would be gratefully appreciated. The document type is actually lesss important than the different number range... and was really just an attempt to trigger a different number. I'm starting to think that this sort of thing may only be possible in a classic implemntation.
What I need ideally, would have been some kind of 'local PO' equivelent of the BADI that enables you to determine transaction type for a bid.

Hi. Not sure on this, but I can tell you that with extended classic it is BADI BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI that is called for the backend PO instead of the CREATEPO_BACK BADI.
You can have a look in BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI and see if that helps?
Don't think it will influence the PO in SRM at all though.
Have you tried the number range / grouping BADIs? They definitly work for changing the number range for classic POs.

    Hi,
Is this happening for all the types of Transactions like Sales, Service, etc.? Is that data that you are using is proper? And can you check if the countries are properly maintained in the system? Check if the country is a mandatory parameter or some country specific checks are executed in the system.
You can check for the countries in the System from transaction code - SPRO -> SAP NetWeaver    -> General Settings -> Set Countries -> Specify Countries for mySAP    Systems.
    Hope this will help.

  • Assign number range to Doc type

    Hi
I have created a  new doc type - i am not sure for which co code business has to assign it... how can i create a new number rnage without co code specification... I know i can assign new no range thru OBA7, but let me know where to create it without co code specification
    Thnx in adv

    Hi,
If I understand you correctly, you want to create one number range for a document type that can be used by all company codes. Eg Doc Type ZA created. Number range assigned is 10000  to 20000. You want all company codes (1000, 2000, 9000 - 3 company codes in  your system )to use the same number range.
    Here is my question
    1. When a document is created (irrespective of companycode), system should pick the next document number. Eg co.code 1000 creates document number 10351, then if a document is created in co code 2000, system should pick 10352 as document number. Am I correct?
These type of continous numbering is not possible for FI postings, but they are possible for Material documents, CO documents.
I am thinking of a different way to get this. Create all these document number range in each company code and make them as externally assigned. Then while saving a document, based on some abap coding that you write, pick the last number used in all company codes and populate the next document number to save.
Hope this is what you want.
    Bye
    Vijay

  • No range ext.assg. in sales doc type

    Hello,
Could you please tell me what's the use of no range ext. assg in saleas doc type? what's the relationship between int.&ext? How can I config ext. in IMG? Where's the menu parth?
    Reward if help!
    Thanks

    Hi ling
In VOV8 for our sales document type ( OR ) we assign internal number range and external number range
You can assign number ranges in VN01 for both internal and external
Internal number range - system will propose the number automatically
External Number range - User has to give the number while creating
In VN01 , for Internal number range  we don't check the box , where as  for external number range we have to  check that box that is how you differentiate
    Example :
In VOV8 we give for internal number range as 01 and the external number range as 02
Now go to VN01  and see  the status of 01 number range if it is from 1000-2000, system will give sales document numbers from 1000 to 2000 as it is an internal number range .and similarly  see  the status of 02 number range if it is from 5000-7000, we can save  sales document numbers from 5000-7000 as it is external number range

  • Seperate  no range for same doc type in 2 co codes

    Hi,
    I have created two company codes 1000 & 2000.
    Under 1000 I've EOU plant 1111 & under 2000 I've domestic plant 2222.
Now, I've created PO document types. I've assigned no range to them.
But I want to use the same document type for both the plants but with different range(say 1100..00 for plant 1111 & 220000..00).
    Is it possible?
Last option is to create seperate doc type for each plant, but I don't want to do that.
    Guide me on this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Piyush

For the same document type for two different company code you can create two different number range.
IN Spro-mm-Purchasing Purchase order document type -- enter the number range for the document type
    Eg
    Company code   Doctype    number range
         AAA                 NB                 1000-1010
         BBB                 NB                 2000-2010

  • Urgent: backend PO/PR doc type

    Hi,
I am confused and need to check!
Currently we have configured the transaction type for backend doc in users attributes. this doc type is for backend PR (ABP). config says if complete then PO otherwise PR..back end PO doc type is ACBP and it is not set in attributes
when we order SC having valid source (R/3 contract) it auto picks up PO doc type ACBP in one system and creates PO. Is this doc type coming from R/3 doc type linkage or any other place. Pls help
    Alok

I could find the mapping done in the PO change BADI..But I would like to ask, is there a standard function like giving both doc type in the attributes or only way is to configure the same doc type in R/3?
    Thanks!

  • Different no range/doc. type for cash journal incoming/outgoing payment

    Hi all,
I am going to set up cash journal for a customer and they want separate number range for incoming and outgoing payments.
I have read on this forum and actually don´t understand if that´s possible.
If I set up two different cash journals (one for outgoing payments and one for incoming payments) the problem is that I can call all transaction type (C, B, R, E, set in transaction FBCJC2) from both. I have a cash journal for outgoing payments where I have set a separate document type and number range for G/L accounts in transaction FBCJC0 and the same for vendor outgoing payment and customer outgoing payment, but no document type for incoming payments from vendor/customer.
When I then start to use this cash journal for outgoing payments I can´t make outgoing payments if I don´t have any money in my cash journal. Then I have to take money from my housebank by business transaction type C (receipt from bank) set in transaction FBCJC2. This becomes an incoming payment, but I got the same number range as for outgoing payments because I am in that cash journal and that number range is set per G/L account transaction per cash journal. .
How can I come around this problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards Lisa

    Hi Pravin,
Sorry for late answer. I created three document types, one for customer, one for vendor and a third for G/L postings. It was not possible to do in another way, sorry.
    Best regards Lisa

  • Is it possible to have Different Interval Ranges for the same Doc Type

    Dear All,
Here is the issue. Is it possible to have different interval ranges for the same document type according to certain condition.Like my client , wants his interval ranges  be divided according to region(which are many)
    Regards,
    Sameer Jalees

    Hello,
As you know we can only assign one number range for External and one number range group for internal in the sales document type.
If you want different number ranges based on the regions, then as Jignesh suggested, you need to go for an enhancement.
Use the exit USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE in program MVA45AFZZ, include a Z table with region as a critera and number range group for different numbers based on the regions. Talk to the business and get more details, get the help of ABAP team for technical details.

  • FB05 - trans to be processed and first line item PK for doc type

    Hi all,
Me quite confused of the entry for the following document type in FB05
    DG - cust credit memo
    DR - cust invoice
    SA- gl acc doc
    SB - gl acc posting
    KG - vdr credit memo
    DZ - customer payment
Need the help to let me know for document type above, what radio button to choose in transaction to be processed and also what posting key use at first line item.
Also if i choose the wrong transaction to be processed radio button, any impact?
    thanks
    rgds

Document type is primarily used to distinguish different various types of transactions. Ultimately, there are only two effects in accouting - debit and credit. Thus, doc type helps distinguish btw various types of accounting entries. It also controls certain field status while document posting and also drives the number range for the accounting document.
Posting keys determine whether a transaction will be a credit or a debit. They also have an influence over the field status of the document entry screen. Posting keys are broadly divided into those belonging to
    Customer                             - Acct type C
    Vendors                               - Acct type V
    GL                                       - Acct type G
Fixed Assets                        - Acct type A and
Material Mgmt. transactions   - Acct type M
For each account type there are both debit and credit posting keys. You can clik on F4 on the posting key field and see the various entries. You will understand.
Thus, which posting key to enter depends on the transaction you want to enter.

  • Drop Down for Selecting the doc type while uploading?

    Hi all,
Is it possible to create some document type in KM so that we can select the doc type and  upload the file to specific folder.
What I mean from Doc type is like Doc for Meetings, Doc for activity report.
Is it possible using standard KM features? Urgent help needed pls reply.
Pls send the document regarding this to [email protected]

    Hi Karan,
I'm not sure if I have understood your issue correctly, but let me try:
    1. You want to upload documents to KM
    2. Uploading them, you want to categorize them in some way, so that they can be identified as docs for meetings, docs for unit XYZ, etc..
    3. After upload, you want each doc to end up in a folder according to its category
If this is what you want, try the following:
    1. Create a custom resource property called "category" or something similiar.
    2. You may define your possible values for that property. This makes it a drop down box containing the possible values in property view. (You can see property view when uploadinga document)
    3. Mark the property as searchable
    4. Create a taxonomy using TREX searching your repository for the given values of your custom property
Now you can upload documents, fill the custom property, and some minutes later TREX will create a link to the document in the specified 'category folder'.
If you need some more detailed assistance, please come back.
    HTH,
    Carsten

  • Cannot find sales doc type data  in my  report on the multiprovider

    hai everone,
I'm doing report on the multiprovider which is connected to different ods's  i'm getting the data for all the fields except for 'sales doc type'.I could see the data for it in the ods on which the multiprovider is built but could not find the data in the report. Can any one suggest me how to get the data for sales doc type into my report.
    Urgent..

yeah listcube is a TCODE to check the data in the cube. run the code and enter the same selections that you would be doing on a query to see and see if it returns any data. if it does, then the problem is with the identification. Most of the times create recommendations work like a charm. But just go into the chars and see if the IO in question has been checked against the ODS that aint returning any records.

    Dear Experts
i had configured a new company code and done the necessary configuration changes in the FSCD collection and disbursement module but while posting a document in FPE1 in FSCD i am unable to post a document .
At present i am getting the following error for the document" Event type 50 : Doc type 30 is for incoming payment
Kindly help me  urgently as i am stuck up on the issue
    Regards
    Devendra Mohan

Payment document can be posted based on the accounting document.
If you want you can maintain invoice number in reference field, also there is one option to make reference field mandatory.
In OBA7 activate reference document number as mandatory for the document type DZ. So, while doing the transaction in F-28, value should be mandatory to this field.
If maintain invoice value in reference field, then you can do sorting and totaling based on the reference field in FBL5N.
there are no standard reports to check the outstanding amount based on the invoice number.
