  • Using the text and not the value of a filed

    Hi there,
    I'm programming a pdf form using life cycle, I'm using the following script in a "SEND TO" button in order to email an XML file with the data extracted from the form:
    var emailAddress = F.P1.Line.rawValue;
    var veicle = F.P1.Vehicle.rawValue;
    var shipper = F.P1.Shipper.rawValue;
    var date = F.P1.Date.rawValue;
    event.target.submitForm({cURL:"mailto:"+emailAddress+"?subject=Booking request from "+shipper+" date:"+date+" &body=Dear Sirs,Please find attached the completed PDF booking form for the following "+veicle+".",cSubmitAs:"XML",cCharset:"utf-8"});
    The problem is that I would like to use in a variable the text and not the value of the F.P1.Line.raw field.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    This is not the appropriate forum to post this type of question. Please post all designer related queries in LiveCYcle Designer Forum to receive better response.
    From you query I understand you have a dropdown box with name as "Line". And you want to the "text" part of the selected item and not the "value" part. If it is so then do the following -
    1. Write the below code in onCHange event of your dropdown box.
    var ddValue = this.boundItem(xfa.event.newText);
    var nodeList = this.resolveNode("#items").nodes;
    var ddText = null;
    for (var i = 0; i < nodeList.length; i++)
    if (this.boundItem(nodeList.item(i).value) == ddValue)
    ddText = nodeList.item(i).value;
    break;
    global.selectedtxt = ddText;
    In the above code I am basically getting the "text" part of the item selected and then I am storing it in a global variable.
    2.
    Write the below code on click event of your button -
    var emailAddress = global.selectedtxt;
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Shivajiv.

  • Missing comments and notes fields for view columns

    Hello,
    I am missing the comments and notes fields for view columns in the relational model of DM. For the table columns these fields are present, so it would be nice to make this available for views too. The Designer import should be adapted too to import those fields.
    Joop

    Hi Joop,
    My question is about the import of Designer for those fields. This is still not solved, even not in rel 4.0
    In fact even DM 3.3 imports comments, notes and comments in RDBMS from Designer repository.  Though comments and notes are not accessible through UI they are there and you can include them in custom report.
    Comments and notes are accessible through UI in DM 4.0

  • Prevent from inserting more than 10 repeated values in a row

    hi
    i have a table with 3 column id , code , desc
    i want to prevent inserting to this table ( raise an exception ) when someone try to insert a row that it's code value already in "code" column for 10 times , that means he wants to insert or update another row that it's value of "code" repeated 10 times .
    how i can do that ?
    thx in adv

  • Sql sript for Insert of data with repeating values

    It has been a long long time since I had to do write and use any SQL scripts, please forgive the question. I used to use a script to insert values into a table as part of my job. I have forgotten what the script I used was and since lost all my Oracle note books and other DBA material.
    I did a search and went through 30 pages of results, I didn't see what I'm looking for.
    The data is from one large file that is appended at the end and sometimes updated somewhere in the middle of the set which is considered new data. I am not concern with getting the data out of the file, I got that handled but the insert into the table - transactions - is where I'm lost.
    I used to use a script to load the data, about 6 years ago, and it would load the file, exclude the data that was already in the table and insert the new data and the data with the changes.
    The data columns are date, time, reference, transaction code, location, debit amount, fee amount, balance.
    The date repeats but the time and reference values are unique.
    Any help with this script is appreciated.

    Hi,
    welcome to the forum..!
    You can use Oracle's merge statement to (update + insert) data into a table ... if the data exists update it with the new values and if it does not, then insert it.
    Here's a link to get you started...
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_9016.htm
    Since, the data is from a file, you could create an external table on the file and directly do a select from the file.
    MERGE INTO bonuses D
       USING (SELECT employee_id, salary, department_id FROM employees
       WHERE department_id = 80) S
       ON (D.employee_id = S.employee_id)
       WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE SET D.bonus = D.bonus + S.salary*.01
         DELETE WHERE (S.salary > 8000)
       WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT (D.employee_id, D.bonus)
         VALUES (S.employee_id, S.salary*0.1)
         WHERE (S.salary <= 8000);in the above example, the
    SELECT employee_id, salary, department_id FROM employeesis the source data. instead of loading the file into a temporary table and then merge into the target table , you could read from <<<external_table_on_your_file>> and then do a merge into the target table.

  • Urgent : Insert , save and Delete in the alv grid

    Hi Experts,
    I am having a alv grid and displaying data by fetching from backend.
    i added a toolbar buttons  "Insert " "Save"  and "Delete".
    when i click on "Insert " button the first row of the table should be empty with input fields. i want to insert data and when i click on "save"  button it should update at backend.kindly let me know how to insert empty row at starting of alv grid and also how to save and delete records..
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Bharath,
    Go through this hope u can understand.
    SEL_MODE. Selection mode, determines how rows can be selected. Can have the following values:
    A Multiple columns, multiple rows with selection buttons.
    B Simple selection, listbox, Single row/column
    C Multiple rows without buttons
    D Multiple rows with buttons and select all ICON
    Setting and getting selected rows (Columns) and read line contents
    You can read which rows of the grid that has been selected, and dynamic select rows of the grid using methods get_selected_rows and set_selected_rows. There are similar methods for columns.
    Note that the grid table always has the rows in the same sequence as displayed in the grid, thus you can use the index of the selected row(s) to read the information in the rows from the table. In the examples below the grid table is named gi_sflight.
    Data declaration:
    DATA:
    Internal table for indexes of selected rows
    gi_index_rows TYPE lvc_t_row,
    Information about 1 row
    g_selected_row LIKE lvc_s_row.
    Example 1: Reading index of selected row(s) and using it to read the grid table
      CALL METHOD go_grid->get_selected_rows
        IMPORTING
          et_index_rows = gi_index_rows.
      DESCRIBE TABLE gi_index_rows LINES l_lines.
      IF l_lines = 0.
        CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_TO_DISPLAY_TEXT'
             EXPORTING
                  textline1 = 'You must choose a valid line'.
        EXIT.
      ENDIF.
      LOOP AT gi_index_rows INTO g_selected_row.
         READ TABLE gi_sflight INDEX g_selected_row-index INTO g_wa_sflight.
        ENDIF.
      ENDLOOP.
    Example 2: Set selected row(s).
      DESCRIBE TABLE gi_index_rows LINES l_lines.
      IF l_lines > 0.
        CALL METHOD go_grid->set_selected_rows
            exporting
              it_index_rows = gi_index_rows.
      ENDIF.
    Reward points if helpful.

  • Strange issue in ListBox - Showing the 'id' contents and not from 'Values'.

    Hi,
    I have created a custom table control that looks exactly like in 'Partner Tab' of Sales Order. It has Partner type, Partner, Name etc columns. For 'Partner type' column, I am calling function module 'VRM_SET_VALUES' so it shows as 'Sold-to party' , Ship-to Party' instead of SP, WE etc. This works fine.
    However, before I display this table control, in PBO,  I am populating Partner Type and partner # and passing it to table control columns. It should show like 'Sold-To party' in 'Partner type' column and '0000014' in 'Partner' column. I see Partner # populated correctly, however, instead of showing 'Sold-To party' in 'Partner type' column , it is showing like SP, which is the 'id' value from function module 'VRM_SET_VALUES' . What should I do so it shows the description(content from 'Values' and
    not from 'id' ) ?
    Niranjan

    Thanks for the response.
    I had tried converting to text and pass from Internal table to Table control on screen in PBO, however, the width of the column is only 2 characters, so it will display just 2 characters text.
    I am wondering how SAP is able to code to show TEXT in 'Partner tab' in Sales Order. I have pasted the contents below from 'Partner tab' of sales order. I debugged the code in program SAPLV09C and screen 1000 and somehow they are populating the text as shown in 'PARTNER FUNCTION' below instead of codes like SH, SP. If I press F1 on field, I see SDPARTNERLIST-PARVW as the field name and the width is 2 characters.

  • List manager displaying view value and not return value

    Hello,
    I'm using a list manager based on pop-up LOV. When I click on an item on the pop-up window, the window is closed and the return value is inserted in the page textbox. I would like to have (as expected) the view value, and have the return value used just as field value during form submit.
    I'm using Application Express 2.1.0.00.39
    Thanks.
    Eugenio

    Unfortunately, you can't. The way to do it is to return the display value into the List Manger item and then use the APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE function to loop through the values and fetch the IDs. You will need to make sure the LOV items are unique and don't contain any colons.
    I hope that helps

  • Order Of Null and Not Null Values while table creation

    We have to create a table with 10 fields .5 of them are Null and Not Null. Now my question what should be the order of fileds??.Means Null Fields will come first or Not Null.

    The only reason I can think of having the NULL columns at the end is storage space.
    To conserve space, a null in a column only stores the column length (zero). Oracle
    does not store data for the null column. Also, for trailing null columns, Oracle does
    not even store the column length.

  • Ring Control Output is the Item name and not the value

    Hello. I am new to Labview. I am experimenting with labview and just creating simple VI's to learn about the software. I have placed a ring control and attached an indicator to that ring control. I thought that the purpose of a ring control was to select an item and output a value. For example, I have placed 3 items in the ring properties (Red, Blue, Yellow) and given those items values of 1,2,3. But when I run the VI and select Blue, I was expecting the indicator attached to the control to read 2 but instead it says 'Blue' (same for other items as well). What am I misunderstanding here or doing incorrectly? I have also attached a screenshot.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Untitled.jpg ‏249 KB

    Your indicator is another ring that has the same name value pairs, so it is going to display the name associated with the value.  Delete the ring indicator and just drop in a regular numeric indicator.  Then it will show you the value.

  • Capturing insert done and storing the value Inserted

    Hi All
    I am trying to insert In multiple table where one tbl PK is FK of other , I achieved that functionality using Instead of Insert trigger.(PK is handled by another trigger) -- main function
    Now On successfully insert i need to captured the PK in Hidden variable to pass it on further for more insert on other table (Pk again being Fk to this table)--- secondary function
    Any inputs on this is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    NS

    Hi
    If you are not using DML process and using your own custom insert statement. You can probably include the following statement along with your insert statement to fetch the PK value in page item.
    INSERT INTO ....;
    SELECT seq_name.nextval INTO :PX_ITEM_NAME FROM DUAL;I guess you are using sequence to generate the PK value. Please update the script as per your table and sequence name.
    Good luck.

  • Blackberry Link for Q10 with Outlook Sync has very poor performance and not good Functionality

    I am wondering if anyone has tested this software. Blackberry Sync software for my previous phones were wonderful. I can sync my contacts and calender in a very short time. With this new Blackberry Link it takes about 1 1/2 hours Plus to complete. And when it does complete - it duplicates entries which I did not want.
    Plus what is missing is the following:
        1. I am not able to say Update both Device and Outlook any longer. This functionality is gone.
    My question: How does it do a two way sync if I only have a choice to use what I have on my phone or on outlook only
    I want to be able to update my Outlook contacts with changes and addition I made on my Q10 phone and update my device with changes I made to Outlook.
    Why did Blackberry remove this very flexible choice? Plus Blackberry Link has very poor performance.
    I work for a large company and I do Enterpirse Software testing daily. Performance is the number one complaint for customers on top of the UI and functionality.

    Thanks for the reply.
    OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 6.3.9600 Build 9600
    Link: 1.2.3.23
    BB Desktop: 7.1.0.41
    Anti Virus: Avast 140312-0
    Firewall: None
    A thing I noticed when I opened Descktop Software for the first time since the new Z30 is that the old application thinks it is looking for a Z30.  I havent even opened the application since before I got the new device.  The only way it could think I have a Z30 is if it is using a lot of the same files as Blackberry Link.   That is some pretty terrible software development practices in my opinion.  I'm going to take your suggestion and uninstall both apps, run a registry cleaner and reinstall BB Link and I bet it works a lot better afterwards.
    EDIT 12 March 2014 7PM EST
    Still all of the same errors with regard to syncing outlook contacts and Schedules.  I will post all of the error messages I recieve here as I see them.  Application is always started by connecting device with USB cable.
    "Sync was unseccessful
    Caught _com_error exception. Description(): Error in MAPILogonEx: MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED; Error(): -2147467259 (0x80004005); ErrorMessage(): Unspecified error; Source(): XCPCRdmptn.RdRDOSession"
    REBOOT
    Change to sync contacts only, 1-way sync to computer, always use device data
    "Sync was unsuccessful
    CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences/Account_1_65537/DevicePin not set in TransConfig.xml for translator RimBB"
    REBOOT
    Application went through the whole process and hung for about 15 minutes and then completed successfuly syncing contacts only.
    Change to callendar only.  Sync completed successfuly.  No hang or errors. very quick.
    A new recurring appointment on the device was not transferred to the computer.
    Sync callendar again, completed successfuly.
    Appointment is still not transferred to computer.
    So far I've spent an hour tonight trying to sync my contacts and appointment changes from just one day.  I'm not thrilled.
