Video Poster in HTML Resources

Is it possible to specify where a poster is grabbed from in a video when embeded with an <embed> tag?
Right now the poster is being pulled from the first frame of the video, ideally it would be pulled from a different spot in the video.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm talking about using Insert HTML to place a code snipit into my doc to reference a video in an HTML Resources zip that I upload into the folio. It's a web overlay as far as the overlay panel is concerned and there is no option to turn off last frame.
The code snipit I'm using is:

I have several videos that will be repeated throughout a folio, so I have made the HTML Resource zip containing them, how do I control the appearance?
If I put a image behind the HTML Content and set the web overlay to transparent I just get a black box, If I set the web overlay to autoplay I just get a white box with a play symbol. so is there anyway to specify a custom poster frame?

I've also tried adding the image as a background image in the HTML but the default white poster frame sits on top of this

I think it would be advisable to learn AS3 and perhaps have a good reference book available... can't really advise that one is better than another. But Flash AS3 is a very broad topic... if your goal is very focused..Flash Video Conferencing, then you may want to rely more on on-line resources, Forums, and reference material.

HTML Resources PDF - Folio does not download on viewer

Hi there
I have a problem with a folio that contains PDF links. THis is not the first time we are using it and we didn't have any problem with this before
After importing all my stacks and HTML resources zip file; when I open the Adobe viewer app on Ipad, I can see the folio but the download does not start; It stays at 0 MB and nothing happens
It seems that the probelm is coming from the HTML PDF. Any IDea ?
Does someone had already the same issue?
The zip file is 247MB, Is there any limitation ??

YOu can try Archieve the Folio and download again or try publish the Folio (Private / Free), thats way you can see if there is some problem in your File or web servers. If after publish the problem continuous...Try create a new folio..I didn´t get this part

CS6 HTML Resource issues

Having trouble accessign my HTML Resource files.
I'm doing exactly the same thing I did in our last magazine.
I triple checked my naming conventions
for all files. Im trying to link a button to a pdf file as a "Go to URL" command.
I've accurately typed HTMLResources/file.pdf in the URL line.
Still not working. Telling me "The requested URL was not found on this server"
This was easy before. Did something change that I don't know about?

Can't pinch and zoom pdfs from HTML Resources anymore

After Folio Viewer Update there is no pinch and zoom in pdf from HTML-Resources.
Before the Update everything works fine in my Folios. Has anybody the same problem?
I rebuild a Folio V32, Only vertical, Standard PDF - same Problem. (iOS8.0.2. Ipad)
Is there a solution?

Yes. I am having the same problem. I cannot pinch and zoom into pdfs from HTMLResources.zip, which is making them unusable in my app for the phone version.

Honestly, I don't even know why this is an option. The conversion to Flash is completely unusable.
I have exported some things to Flash, and since I program in Flash all the time I was able to manipulate to work to some degree. Most text captions are built with multiple elements and completely fall apart.

I am haing trouble embedding my swf video into my html page. Here is my code:

When I run the page the place where the flash player should be is blank. But if I right click I can select settings so the flash player is there. I'm using absolute urls for the flashvars because I read in a forum that that's what you're supposed to do. Anyway I am a little frustrated that the video won't play. I tried creating a video with no skin and the same problem occurs.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Linking to multipage pdf in HTML Resources folder

Have a multipage pdf in HTML Resources folder that I'm linking to from various parts of my folio. Would be ideal if instead of always opening on page 1, I could set it to open on page 4 from one button and page 12 from another. For legal reasons, I cannot split the pdf. Is this possible?

If you are testing this from your local PC, odds are you are generating with Mark Of The Web enabled. The side effect of this is that links to things such as PDF documents won't work. But after you upload to a web server and test, things should work fine.

Are there any know problems in DPS with HTML Resources on iOS8?

We have a pdf in HTML Resources that works fine in iOS7, but the inline browser comes up blank with launched in iOS8. We've tested it with a 31 folio and a 27 folio in iOS8.

We've also noticed that when we hyperlink to a pdf in a public url, as well as in HTML Resources, it also produces a blank inline browser screen in a 27 or 31 folio on a 4th Gen iPad running 8beta. Has your team been able to recreate the problem or find a work around for this issue?

Homesharing has issues that have not been fixed over several versions of itunes and ios.
Only kind of fix is go back through your library and retag it.

MP4 video poster controls no longer functioning. Video loops back to the beginning even though the settings are to stop at the last frame. Also video is pausing on tap yet i have the 'Do Not Allow Pause' checked.
Double checked the publish setting and it's set to v23, which when these features were released.
Previous folios (published before v25) are working fine but new one using v25 tools is not working.

Stop at Last Frame works fine for me using the v25 tools.
Open your folio properties and make sure that v25 is selected. Then update the article containing the video. (In some cases, you can have a folio in one version with articles in a previous version if they haven't been updated.)
Let us know how that goes.

How can I play video in an HTML article targeting a Samsung Galaxy Tab

I am trying to play video in an HTML article using the <a href="videofile://...m4v"> method but no there is on action on the link when I try to run the app on the Samsung Galaxy Tablet.
I've also tried to link to an html file that contains the html video tag. That method only shows the controls and plays the audio, unless you click the full screen control, at which point it will play the video and audio.
Snippet of the html video tag:

Not sure I fully understand the problem. Does it not work when you take it out of mirrored and run the two displays in extended display mode (use Arrangment to arrange the two monitors)? Of course you need to chang your Sound preferences to use the hdmi conneciton as well.

Folio layouts -import html resources

Newbie question...I can't seem to get the folio to recognize and create both the vertical and horizontal layouts in our document...only the vertical layout is recognized. I am using inDesign and have created and modified the alternate layouts but I can't seem to figure this out...
Is there any more documentation/tutorials on the "import html resources"
I am trying to import some javascript/html code that contains educational activites but the "insert html" function in indesign doesn't allow me to insert the entire code (it's too big)...

It sounds like you're confusing HTML articles with HTML resources. HTML Resources is primarily a way to share images and assets among various articles. Look for info on importing HTML articles.
