Visual Report Issue

Hi,
I have an issue creating reports in Project 2010 using visual Report dialog box . in exporting it to report most of the fields comes more than 2 times when ever i am rendering it..Any resolution???

Try to use the Field picker option in Visual Reports..Field Picker is to modify the fields included in the list of data to export. As
far as doubling is concern update your software if you are not using a file or document link with other versions.if yes try to save in which you are using. Secondly Rendering Report some times creates issues due to hardwares.

Visual report issue with PP 2010 - Displaying too many years

Hi,
I am using project pro 2010. When I display a report (e.g. Resource Cost Summary), and if I add the Monthly Calendar field in the report, it displays 7 columns from 2010 to 2016 even though there is data only for 2014 and 2015. I need to manually
filter out all years with no data.
Is there a setup that would display only the years and months with data?
It was working fine before I update MS Proj.

First of all, do you have your copy of Microsoft Project 2010 patched with the most recent Service Packs and Cumulative Updates? If not, I would strongly recommend you do that.
I am not able to duplicate your problem, but there is a way to work around it. In the Excel PivotTable, click the Year pick list, deselect the years you do not want to see in your Visual Report, and then click the OK button.

Project Server 2010 report issue

Hi all,
I am having a problem where our users are only able to produce a summary report. Upon printing a report we are usually presented with a menu with many options prior to printing.
The farm is fully up to date and no changes have been made administratively. I have searched around but am unable to find anyone with the same issue.

It’s ‘Reports’, not ‘Visual Reports’ (Visual Reports seem to work fine). Seems to be all users but just this project file, both opened from Project Server or saved and opened locally.

Stage Analysis Report Issue

I have run a stage analysis report but it says no data inspite of open opportunities being present in the system. Could anyone kindly let me know what could be the issue?

GR/IR GL Reporting Issue

1. 30 documents of 2009 were matching and post with clear is perfomred. After performing post with clear also the line items are not moving from open line items. When we download the open line items as of today, these line items are appearing.
2. When we download the ZBLRFIOI report for GRIR a/c 349100 to have the opne line items. we have some set of documents showing as " FI Open items without J2" - This is reporting issues.

Pls try with F.13 for that GR/IR account 349100 by selecting check box select gl accounts
And give Company code, year and pending document numbers in selection screen
And before that pls make sure that OB74 clearing settings maintained or not
It will clear all the open items exists

BW Reporting Issue

Hi,
I am facing one reporting Issue relating to Display Attributes.
Characteristic: Business Partner
Display Attributes: Address0, Address1, Address3...etc.
Requirement is to display mentioned Display attributes along with Business Partner.
For this I have selected Business Partner as characteristic and mentioned above three as display attributes to Business Partner.
But Query out put is not showing Display attributes. For this I have done all settings at reporting level, all gone vain.
I am using Bex 7.0.
Kindly look in to the Issue and let me know the solution.

Unknown Error occur when trying to get a visual report - Project 2013

I have office 2013 home and student and ms project 2013. I am trying to get it to do visual reports and
all i keep getting is an error message saying an unknown error has occurred and the requested action cannot be completed at this time. help please if anyone knows a solution.
i got all the updates for Project and to Office.
the problem also occur on a different machine , with a different OS.
Please help ! , this is important feature of project that i must have working.

User report issues in 1.1.0.21.97

A couple of issues i'm experiencing with user reports on Mac OS X in the latest pre-releas build
first off, if I am asked for a password (first time I use the connection) there is no feedback if the connection fails (worng password for instance)
The second problem I'm facing is every time I try to rerun a certain master-detail report I'm getting an NPE

We have verified the connection error on the latest evaluation build is working as expected. i.e. if you supply wrong password you get alerted to that. This has been verified on the windows and Mac OS X. Please try the latest evaluation release 1.1.0.22.71.
Your reports issue has also been addressed.

Project 2007 (with server) - Visual reports custom templates export problem

Hi,
someone fimiliar with this situation?
While creating
and saving a new template in visual report using Project Professional 2007, some of the reports that was saved as template lose connection between Project cube and Excel.
Those reports include Enterprise global custom fields, and on the first few times I open them (on different computers) it works fine but later some of the report
templates won’t open, and error messages are received.
Those are the steps I did to reproduce the problem:
When I create the template I used “New template” and then I added the fields (some of the templates are “Task usage” based, and some “Task summary” based).
Then when I try to open it later…
Step 1 –Open the template
Step 2 – the export gets stuck –
Step 3 – if I check the excel that was opened I get error messages -
Step 4 – another error message (after clicking OK on the previous one)
When clicking OK or Cancel the excel is closed
Step 5 – when going back to check visual reports on project another error appears

Easily fixed. Just take the Excel.exe file and copy/paste from your Program
Files/Microsoft Office/Office14 folder to the Office12 folder.
As near as I can tell, Project is looking for the file in Office12.
I think you also need to restart Project after doing so.

Visual report error on master project

Hi,
I've created 2 distinct projects with custom fields, filled-in with a macro based on resource pool custom fields. Works fine.
For these projects, I've created an Excel visual reports that uses the custom fields (as dropdown lists). Also OK on both projects.
When I just insert both projects as sub-projects of a master projects (with same custom fields imported in the master project), I receive an "unknown error" when running the visual report. Any hint ?

We have already taken care of the points which you mentioned in your reply on development side. Also, we have downloaded crystal report from the link which you posted but on DEPLOYMENT side we are unable to run reports from our application.
It gives the notification when we try to install crystal report on a target machine as "You must have visual studio 2010 installed in order to install the crystal report".
The DEPLOYMENT problem we are facing is in RUNTIME environment on TARGET machine. Our TRAGET machine has properly installed Win 7 Professional 64 bit, .NET Framework Ver 4 and CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1 . We also have properly installed application on this machine. We got no errors while installing any of the above. The problem starts when we fire a report on target machine from the application.
We get the error as "The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception"
So, we are looking for an appropriate RUN TIME version of Crystal Report which can be installed on the target machine to fire reports (where visual studio 2010 is not installed).
Please help suggest an exact version to download for target machine and the steps if it has a specific procedure.

Project 2010 keeps asking for Excel 2003 or later when trying produce visual reports.

When I try to produce a visual report on project 2010, I am asked to have Excel 2003 or later installed on my computer. I have office 2013 installed, and have looked for the Excel.exe file to move it but i was unable to find it. Any help much
appreciated.

In addition to Paul's excellent advice, try this:
Go into C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office15 and copy the Excel.exe file
Paste into C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office14

Excel busy when I try to modify a template of MS Project visual report

(Sometime) when I try to modify a xlst template for MS Project (2013) visual report MS Project say me that excel is busy.
But Excel is closed. I try to close and re-open bot excel and MSProject but say me always that cannot open visual report (based on my custom template) because excel is busy.
In my template I inserted also an external connection to other data (coming from another database).
The template is populate with "visualize report" ....
Also If I try to modify the template (using MS PRoject function) MS Project say me that MS Excel is busy...
I used that template sussefully... but when I make some update to template file (for example add a table o a simple text) then MS Project is not able to open excel file.... but I don't understand why. So I have to rollback modifies and take previous template
version.
[Note:] could be something related to which sheet (of template xlst file) has focus on when saved?

How do you add additional pages in Pages 09 visual report

I'm trying to create a report in Pages 09 using the Visual Report template. I have over 150 photos to include in the report - 4 to a page. I have two questions. The first one is how do I add pages beyond the 2 on the template. Secondly, is there a way to group all 150 pictures and have them inserted into the document all at once or do I have to drag each one over individually?

If you want more photo pages, select the appropriate template master from the Sections icon on the Toolbar.
You can drag multiple images onto your .pages template but they will come in in a clump.
The whole point of the template is the neat formatted style of the image and you get that by dragging photos individually onto the image placeholders.
Are you using:
Menu > View > Show Media Browser
to drag in your photos? Or are you going straight from the Desktop? Either method works.
In the Desktop you can arrange your images in Icon view and make them large enough to identify and rearrange them into the order you want to bring them in. Line up your .pages template with the open icon view window next to it then just drag over the images into the template with a simple click > slide > drop.

RESOLVED : Windows Phone – Download reporting issue related to 11/1/14 – 11/9/14 data

Update 3/22 - the below issue has been resolved.
It has come to our attention that certain Windows Phone download reporting aggregations are not matching. After investigation, we found an issue related to 11/1/14 – 11/9/14 transactions. For example, if you chose an “All
app” aggregation (6 month view) and compared it to “Monthly by app” aggregations (6 month view), the totals weren’t matching. The root cause of the issue was due to the 11/1/14 – 11/9/14 data not being considered for all of the available aggregations.
We are scheduled to fix the issue today.
If you have transactions between 11/1/14 – 11/9/14, you will see an increase in the following aggregation totals once the fix is completed:
Monthly aggregations (6 and 12 month views) by app and in-app aggregations
Cumulative downloads – app and in-app aggregations
Please note, this is strictly a download reporting issue. There is no impact to any payout reporting or payout amounts.
When the fix has been completed, I will update this post.

Odd Reporting Issue (ENTERPRISE)

I have a client with some users experiencing a rather odd reporting issue. The report runs fine, but only shows values for the totals and not the line items that make up the total.
For example, when I run the report (logged in as admin as well as under their ID), I see:
Net Sales 1,234
Cost Of Sales (1,111)
Gross Margin 123
When they log in on their machine, they see:
Net Sales
Cost Of Sales
Gross Margin 123
Very odd. I figured maybe it was an application setting, but the INI didn't look off anywhere particular.
They are running Enterprise 6.3.1 (yeah, insert comment here on the upgrade needed).
Any thoughts???

Check their Effective rights, and reset them, that has worked out for me. Otherwise, try copying the user and paste it as a new user and retest; I had to delete users and recreate them to correct problems of this nature.
