VL10A - Stock on hand Availability Check before creation of delivery

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to control the creation of delivery via VL10A to first check for actual receipted stock before allowing the delivery to be created.
eg. Material X has inbound delivery date 01.07.2011.  Sales Order has delivery date of 01.07.2011, thus schedule line has confirmed date of 01.07.2011.
On 01.07.2011, inbound delivery has not yet been GR'd into stock, VL10A runs with current date set and outbound delivery is created for Sales Order, despite the stock not being available to deliver.
Where does this check (for available stock on hand) need to be performed?
Is there a setting in the input parameters in VL10A? If so which specific parameter on what tab controls this?
If not, does this need to be handled in the Availability Check & Transfer of Requirements configuration of the sales order, so that the schedule line is not confirmed until the goods are in stock?  If so, what specific config is required to achieve this.
During my research I have found responses indicative of both areas however no specific examples are available. Thanks for your help

Hi
Please check OVZ9 . In availability check control you can control the in/outward movements.
Hope it helps

    Dear All ,
During the availibility check I want to consider  the customer consingment  .
E.G   if the plant level stock is 300 and customer consingement  stock is 30  then the ATP quantity should be 330 wen i am performing the Availibility check ...
Pls help me in this regard

    hi,
you cannot take into consideration the stock available at consignee for availability check. the consignment stock is treated as special stock unlike unrestricted.
For transactions such as make-to-order production, consignment or returnable packaging processing that create special stock, the availability check is performed against special stock.
The following elements can be included in the availability check:
    Stock
    safety stock
    stock in transfer
    quality inspection
    blocked stock

  • Longer time for Material Availability check while creation of prd order.

    Hi guys,
I am facing a weird problem while creating production orders thru CO01.
I enter the component and plant and I am also using the forward scheduling option.
for some reason, SAP is taking a long time for material availability check when I hit the release button.
Sometimes its taking more than an hour. Its happening with few specific BOM's, and I have checked the master data but I could hardly find a problem in master data.
Can someone suggest me some tips ??
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sashivardhan

    Hi,
Please check the Availability check control maintained for Components it should be 01 or 02. Also check the issue storage location maintained or not. You can maintain issue storage location in BOM in Status/lng text tab in Production Storage Location.
    Hope this will help.

    HI experts ,
we have set up the system to carry out the Availability check during the cross company delivery ,the same configuration had been maintained for the intra company delivery ,but the test result shows that the ATP check had only take consideration of the cross company delivery ,whereas it didn't cover the intra company delivery .So is there any clue for this .
BTW ,the check gruop is 02 ,checking rule is 01for the assignment.

    Hi,

  • Availability check during process order creation

    Hi all,
can anyone tell me significance of availability check during creation /change of process order?? ( in terms of business)
    how is the usual processs?

    Hi,
Availability check for a material is carried out only if the material is
    1. A stock item
    2. Not a phantom item
    3. Not a bulk material.
    This can be carried out
    1. during order creation
    2. during order release
    3. when a created order is saved
Availability check can be triggered either manually or automatically.
For this we need to define in checking control(opjk)
First define a checking group(ovz2) and checking rule and this
must be assigned to checking scope.(opjj)
In the checking scope(opjj) we should define
    1. which Mrp elements are to be considered during check
    2. which inventory categories are to be taken into account
    3. whether Replinishment lead time is to be taken into account or not
    4. whether check is also to be carried at storage location level.
This checking rule must be linked to checking control(opjk)in which you can say
1.No availability check for the material
2.Availability check when saving the order
3.What type of check is to be carried
whether ATP CHECK or Check against PIR quantities
    4. Whether order should be released or not if there is
    any missing parts.
The checking group is assigned to material master MRP3 view. Please check whether checking gorup is assigned to all the components in the BOM.

  • Problem in availability check

    Hi guys,
WE have the following requirement.  At the time of creation of production order, we have to activate the availability check before save.  We could configure such a way that, availability check is carried out while releasing the production order.  But if the quantity is increased after release, the order is getting saved without carrying out the availability check.  WE have to do either of the following two:
    1) making quantity field as not editable after releasing the production order or
    2) to enable availability check to be carried out after release and before saving the order.
Is it possible to do the above?  If possible, what are the settings required.
    Suggestions will be rewarded.

For all your questions there is answer available in this answer.only
you have to customise things in such a way  that your requirement  are met.
To my knowledge a phantom material should not take part in check
If it takes part in availability check , check whether the phantom assembly
is allowed to take part in availability check in Define Explosion Types in
customising. The indicator switchoff phantom assembly (02)must be active and
this must be assigned in Bom item detail screen under general data.

  • Availability check for STO?

    Hi,
While doing Stock transfers order (PO) plant to plant with in the company code, there is no controlling on availability check, though stocks are not available in the supplying plant, while making delivery thro VL10B,  delivery is creating with '0' Qty. This system want to stop the delivery when quantities are not available in the supplying plant.
The following steps are configured for availability check for STO
Schedule line Like NN activated for availability, Assigned schedule lines to item category like NLN and determined rule for STO document type, plant, Delivery type and checking rule in MM.
how to control the delivery,  when stock are not available in supplying plant? (Means, when stock are not available in the supplying plant, delivery creation should stop through VL10B)
Is there any more configuration is required, pl guide.

    Alexandro,
During delivery creation, the system performs an availability check (ATP).  You can assign the Delivery notice type for a stock transfer order delivery notice at OMGN.  The ATP for DN will be the standard ATP rules for SD delivery notices (checking rule B).You can determine which elements are used for availability checking in OVZ9.
To meet your goals, I suggest you use:
Check w/o replenishment lead time ticked
    Include deliveries ticked.
Optionally, according to your company's policies
    Include safety stock ticked
    Include quality inspection stock ticked
    Everything else unticked.

  • Availability check box at schedule line level and requirement class level

    Hi All
What is the significance of availability check field at schedule line level and requirement type level.
If I remove the check box at schedule line level, then there won't be any availability check carried out in the sales order, even though in requirement class it is checked. Is it for doing availability once the requirement is passed to MRP...
In make to stock scenario, no availability check is active at schedule line level.
scenario 1. stock is 0 in plant, when i place an order for 10 quantity, does system give any confirmed quantity on so and so date...or the confirmed quantity will be zero or as there is no availability check carried out, it confirms 10 quantity on customer requested delivery date and the time of creation of delivery, it gives an error message stating zero quantity is available. which one is correct in all the above.
In make to order scenario, no availability check is active at schedule line level.
order was created for 10 qty, as there is no availability check active, does the system give some date based on the lead times maintained in the material master or not?
    Regards
    Sree

    Hi sreekar
The significance of availability check at schedule line level  is to determine weather availability check and TOR should be carried out for sales orders  or not.
If you remove check box at schedule line level , availability check and TOR wont be  carried out at sales order level.
Coming to the scenario you said , make to stock , i think the availability check you are using is 01 make it 02. which is planned requirements. and stratergy group as 10. in MRP3 view in MMR. .
as the availability check u have put 01 & stratergy group as 10 availability check doesnt carry
coming to the scenario 2  , if the stock is 0 in plant and if you create a sales order, then the confirmed quantity should be 0 and that particular order will go to backorder processing.
sometimes it  confirms the ordered quantity as the  confirmed qunatity, and it gives a confiremed delivery date on which the stock is confirmed , but that date is a tentative date.
all these unconfirmed orders will go to backorders. once the qunatity is confirmed automatically , delivery date also will be done
Coming to scenario 3 , when you create MTO order there will be availability check checked at the schedule line level. can you tell wat is the schedule line you are getting is it CP or ND?
for schedule lines , ND - no availability check will be there , PD - availability check will be there
Note: plz check 1st the availability check you have entered in MMR , if it  is 01 make it as 02. and then run these cycles.
Reward points if useful and if Any queries let me know

  • Material availability on order creation

    Hi Experts,
In OPJK for availability check during creation under "material availabilty" tab i have maintained checking rule PP, collect. conversion 3 (no creation if material missing) and checked box "check availability while saving".
For availability check during release under "material availabilty" tab i have maintained checking rule 01 and release material 1 (user decides if parts are missing) and checked no other box.
But on order creation, inspite of material shortage scheduling is taking place. Only on trying to release material shortage is being shown. How to ensure that during creation itself user gets the option to decide if order is to be created in spite of shortage ?
    Regards

    Hi,
I have maintained following settings in the system, system gives a information Message during order creation and system is rejecting the order release because of the missing parts.
1: Availability Check during order creation:
        No check - unselected.
material availability during order save - checked
        checking rule - (anyone) PP
        Check type - atp
        collective conversion - (any)
2: Availability check during order release:
        No Check - unselected
        Status check - unselected
material availability during order save - checked
        Checking rule - (anyone) 01
        Check type - atp
Release material - no release if parts missing
With this settings you should get the warning message " Order has missing parts" (CO292)
This is just a information message
If you try to release the order, it will get rejected because of the missing parts ( check the logs, again system will show the missing parts as information message only (CO281))
It is possible to save the order. If you want to check the missing parts click on the materials button to see the missing parts list.
Hope this will be helpful to you.

  • Sales Block for order whose quantity exceeds % of available stock on hand

    Hello gurus,
I am wondering if there is standard SAP functionality that could enable the following scenario:
For a material in material group XYZ, if a sales order is entered that exceeds 50% of stock on hand, a delivery block is placed on the order.  If a sales order is entered that is under 50% of stock on hand, no delivery block is placed on the order.
The number 50% is arbitrary and would be specified based on the material group.  As well, this can be based on the material.  I'm hoping there is configuration out there that would block the delivery creation if an item on the sales order exceeded a pre-defined % of available, unrestricted stock in the plant.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Andy,
Let me summarise ur question - You have Material - A, B & C all of them belonging to a particular Mat. Group lets say - 444. Lets think if the stock of all the Materials - A, B & C is 100 CS's.
When a Sales order is created for Material - A for Quantity of 60 CS - You want a Delivery block.
If my understanding is yes, I think the requirement is too complex, but achiviable.
    Because -
    - If this can be achived its possible with only User exits, but the requirment is linked with Availability,
    - If we want to implement this in the Save user exit, the code has to go check the stock in availability and if the conditions are met needs to block the delivery,
    - you need to consider the stock situations as the re-scheduling will also be happening in the background,
    - Wht would happen if there are more than 1 material entered and both are different Material grounps. [Need to consider this scenario as well]
Instead of Delivery block - You can implement the changes to Reject the line if the % crosses. That is reason for rejection. As this is more specific to line item.
Create a Z* table and update it with the Material groups that you are planning to use. And give the %.
Implement the code changes in the Save user exit in MV45AFZZ to check this table for each material group and validate it and then compare the Ordered Quantity with the available stock of that material. Not sure though from where you want to get the stock figures.
I tried, but this might be a start. All the best.
    Thank you,
    Chaitu...

  • Stock transfer between plants - availability check

    Hi  all,
We are currently facing a scenario, where a Stock transfer Purchase order is created for goods movement between two plants. The outbound delivery was created, but at the time of goods issue, there was a problem of inadequate stock on hand.
I wanted to know whether an availability check happens during an outbound delivery creation. (O/B del type : UL).
If not, then where does SAP check whether there is adequate stock available for the goods movement.

  • ATP check before delivery creation

    Gurus,
Is there any way of confirming stock in sales order or scheduling agreement by some user exit before we create the delivery.
For example i have one sales order with quantity of 10. I have 10 pieces in stock but not confirmed in sales order yet so before batch job runs and creates delivey what should be done to confirm that stock in sales order.
    Any help would be appriciated.
    Thanks
    Aman

    Hi Amandeep,
You need to go for Rescheduling of sales order which is the standard functionality and you dont have to use user exit for the same.
Lets say your orders are created with 0 confirmed quantity and now you have stock in the system.
Execute the transaction v_v2 and check out the below mentioned step and result for the same.
During the rescheduling the open sales order items release their confirmed quantities. The items are sorted according to delivery priority, creation date, document numberand item number and are then transfered to the availability check. Both sales orders are checked in the order of their creation date, because they have the same delivery priority.
If the Unconfirmed documents required parameter is selected, at least one document of the material must be unconfirmed to assure that all documents of the material are transfered to the availability check.
The delivery date of the sales order can be set as sorting criterion for the availability check, via the sorting criterion delivery date parameter (which you didn't choose). In this case every sales order is sorted according to the delivery date within the priority.
Sales order items with the marks date and fixed quantity aren't rescheduled.
    # Choose .
The system displays a list of the rescheduling results.
In the rescheduling log you can see, that sales order  has got a new confirmed quantity (column confirmed new).
    # In the dialog box, choose Yes.
    # Choose until the overview tree appears.
Hope this will resolve your query.
    REgards,
    Krishna O
