We have a small client with only 2 computers in the office. One of them is a "main PC" hosting shares and being accessed by the second PC. This main computer loses network connectivity in a very weird way, resulting "no internet on it" and the second PC can't access the shares anymore.1) opening ANY web site fails but if I open Chrome and start typing a search in the address bar and hit enter, then google shows me the results.
2) as soon as I choose one of the results the page fails to load.3) google.ca(com) fails too.4) the second computer can access internet but cannot access the "main PC".5) This issue never happens during the day. Only in the mornings when staff comes to work, but not every morning. The main PC is never shut down.6) The issue is gone if the PC is rebooted.What I did:1) Checked ipconfig - fine. I NEED help. Ran out of ideas.

I have 2 problems with the same Ipod.
The Ipod is an older model, monocolor screen, a click wheel. The ipod is currently formatted in Windows.
Now here's my problem, whenever I try to play a song it automatically skips it. The song title, and everything else comes up but the play timer stays at 0:00 and it just skips it, and then skips the next one, and the next one, and so on.
So, I tried everything i maunlly could to it and nothing worked. So then I decided to just plug it into my MacBook and restore it, and re-format it to Mac instead of Windows. But here is the second problem: Whenever I plug it in to my notebook, the ipod says "do not disconnect, and it comes up on my desktop, and then itunes pops up like it found the new device, but it doesn't show the ipod.
I have tried two things:
1. I ran the "software update"
2. I have updated Itunes to 7.1.1
Also, I ran the program alterPOD and even that found the program. But when I attempt to use the iSYNC it can't locate the ipod.
I have seriously ran out of ideas for both of the problems.

Ran out of ideas regarding my freeze problem.

I've had my iMac for about a year and a half now and it was going absolutely great, but about 10 days ago, it started freezing a whole lot like within 10 minutes that I turn it on, it just gets to the spinning wheel and nothing happens, I have to do a manual shut down.
Also, when I boot my computer I very often get the question mark folder, or it just sticks to the blue or grey screen and I need to restart it one more time.
I did a disk utility for my hard drive with no problems showing, the repairs told me nothing needed repairs.
I also did the hardware test with the Mac OS X Installation cd by pressing D and again it said there was nothing wrong.
I tried to reset the PRAM, didn't do anything else.
I actually even ended up formating my entire hard drive... twice. Yet it is still freezing,
I'm running out of ideas here, so thats why I'm posting this

There are other methodologies of scanning a HD
which involve data extraction, but loss of metadata is often the result if the directory is corrupt.
Metadata is the info on what the data IS.
Like having all your papers thrown in the air, its all there, but just a giant mess.
This is why you always always must have several external HD redundancies of your data. One isnt enough, neither is two really.

Photoshop CS4 won't open Crashes immediately. Out of ideas

My graphics drivers are up to date. I've not installed any third party items for PS.
I've uninstalled, used clean script, reinstalled several times. ran the repair license (multiple times), changed flexnet licensing from manual to auto and back again during the many tries of repairing. Rolled back the date as Adobe mentions. Rebooted many times. Checked my fonts against the 'trouble list' though none have been installed in weeks. Deleted the preferences. Long list of things I have tried.
I'm out of ideas. Computer is about 6 weeks old. I installed it with no issues then. Program worked a few weeks. Yesterday I tried opening it and it crashes immediately. It opens enough that I can see the main screens then the error comes up. The only message is "adobe photoshop CS4 has stopped working" " A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program......" No details are provided as to the issue. The only option is to close. I rebooted in safe mode and got the code of 148.3. Repairing the license with the adobe fix still doesn’t correct it.
Any ideas on what else to try?

A. Have you gone in to 'manage your iCloud?', and have you rebooted your iPhone. I think the idea is to delete yor previous backups and start with a new one.

Mac book pro ran out of battery during install....powercut

I currently have my old, MacBook Pro "Core Duo" 1.67 15" Model : a1150. 2006.
It's sitting dead under my bed at the moment, as last year while doing a fresh install of OS X my power went down and it ran out of battery half way through the installation..! School boy error.
When i power on the laptop, it starts up,but nothing displays on the screen. Its not backlit either or gray screen.
I've tried holding shift straight at start up, nothing
and also tried Shift-Command-V, nothing
I've tried putting in the OS X cd, 1 and 2 but it does nothing. It doesn't 'suck in' the cd. So it can't be read.
Does anyone have any ideas what they would do? It would be nice to get her up and running again..as she was working fine, just wanted to clean her up with a new install.

Thanks Eric, but it's not a power issue. Tried different chargers and usb cables in a wall outlet and computer etc. It doesn't seem to recognize that it is in fact plugged to a power source. I get the low battery icon w/ the plug + bolt icon as if it needs to be plugged in but it already is...

IBook locking up hard! out of ideas!

My 800mhz G4 iBook has locked up from time to time after waking from sleep. It's been annoying but I've heard that it's a bug and I dealt with it. Now it's locking up all the time. Sometimes right in the middle of doing something, other times when it's booting up, right before the dock loads. Im out of ideas on how to fix it. I've ran all the diagnostic tests from the cd's and everything is fine. I've started in safe more many times and fixed permissions.
The latest round of locking up seems to have started when I got the OS X 10.4.7 update, but that might be a coincidence. Here is my console log from the lockup this morning. It locked up around 04:35.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
I would ask you the same question. How big is your hard drive and how much space remains available on it?
If you can't get anywhere to find out, try starting up from your OS Install disc by holding down the c key at the end of the startup chime, and access the System Profiler from the Apple Menu (Apple Menu > About This Mac > More Info. Choose ATA and your hard drive. It will give the capacity and available hard drive space.

Films I do not possess anymore prevent me from changing my iTunes region, although my last film ran out a good month ago.

So I got a new bank card with some cash on it a good month ago and wanted to change my iTunes region to the UK, since that is where I'm living right now. My last one was set to Germany, since I was running over a different card. I borrowed The Avengers for 2 days from iTunes 3 weeks ago, and so the time ran out and the film was deleted from my Mac and iTunes. Yet still I get the message above, that I still possess that movie and until it runs out, I cannot change my region.
Anyone got ideas on how to fix that?

The problem is, that the movie WAS deleted off my Mac already, so I don't even have the option to watch it. And since it ran out back in September, I have waited for more than a week for it "to run out".

IPhone 4 Ran Out of Battery and Doesn't want to charge

So basically, today i looked up at my iPhone 4 and noticed it was at 6% battery or something like that. I left it and looked at it again after an hour or so and it was off. I thought that it ran out of battery so it was okay.
I came back home, got the charger and plugged in. The iPhone did not show any charging sign (you know, the red icon that shows that the battery is empty, nor the red sign that shows that the iPhone is charging but not yet "up").
There is nothing on the screen. I tried a forced restart and similar but it doesn't show anything.
I have no idea what i can do about it, so let me know if you have any?

When you say, "Forced restart", do you mean holding the Home and Lock button together? If not, try that. If so, then sorry, I can't think of anything else. You might need a trip to an Apple Store/Reseller, or call AppleCare (if you have it).

My phone ran out of battery last night and will not turn on through charging. Top button has also stopped functioning. Help?

The phone's about a year old, and has otherwise been working fine. I've no idea why it would just stop working - no water spilt on it or anything like that.

Clean iPhone charging port with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol. See if better. Try another good USB cable. This iPhone potentially has many problems. Without the top button function it is very difficult to deal with any of the other problems. The iPhone may also have faulty battery, faulty charging port, or worse faulty screen, or even worse faulty logic board. Moving content databases from 2010 to 2013 August CU. Have 7 databases attached and ready to go, all the content is crawled successfully except zip files. Getting errors such as

SharePoint 2013 in a single instance out-of-the-box. Didn't install custom iFilters as 2013 supports zip. No other extensions have this issue. Range in file size from 60-90MB per zip. They contain mp3 files. I can download and unzip the file as needed.
Should I care that the index isn't being populated with these items since they contain no metadata? I am thinking I should just omit these from the crawl.

This issue came back up for me as my results aren't displaying since this data is not part of the search index.
Curious if anyone knows of a way to increase the parser server memory in SharePoint 2013 search?
