i have a web application with login.It does not work when my app reaches the threshold session time.
What is the maximun time for session??

Depends per appserver. Refer its documentation / configuration. The default is usually 30 minutes.
You can however configure it yourself per webapp using <session-config> in the web.xml.

Most of the ESS/MSS applications are webdynpro for java applications

but you can set expiration time at individual application level using sapexpirationtime which will take the precedence

Varing the session expiration time

Hi all,
the default session time with my server and the ADTB are too short (24 mins)
Do you have a PROOFED WORKING way to extend the session lifetime?
I tryed both to use the .htaccess variable and the ini_set("session.gc_maxlifetime")
If I query then the ini_get("session.gc_maxlifetime") I get the new session length I decided.
But in fact the session expires after a very short time?
Any help would be really appreciated

Hi Fonzie,
if neither the .htaccess approach nor the ini_set function work on your host, I fear I have no idea what you could do instead, as the host admins seems to have disabled both features for whatever reason.

Timeout Session - Expiration time of Webdynpro application

Hello,
I set the sap.expirationTime property of my application to 1 hour, know the expiration time of my application is one hour. After time out (one hour) I am getting default 500 internal server error page. But as per the requirement we need to display a custom message instead of 500 internal server Error.
i.e.need to Redirect to Custom page with custom message instead of 500 internal server error page.
i try to follow as per this link [Timeout of a WebDynpro session;
but found that in NW 7.0 the parameter sap.sessionExpiredURL is not available anymore. How can archive this?
Conclusion: If there is a timeout session, instead of 500 internal error page how to display a custom messages?

Hi Maha,
With sap.expirationTime property, the application will certainly be expired.
If your requirement suits for the scenario just try out the following workaround.
If you want show a custom message only, you can use TimedTrigger UI Element instead of setting expirationTime just set dealy for this and in the action kust navigate to the view and displaye the custom message in that.

How do i change Session Expire Time in APEX?

Greetings,
I am developing in APEX 3.2.
Every few minutes while i am developing i have to log in again, it gets tiresome every day having to login 100 times.
So i would like to know where i can change the time it takes for the session to expire so i can change it tom some big value, let's say like 8 or 12 hours.
I would also like to change the time a regular user can stay logged in cause it also has a small time for the session expire and since i have to test everything i develop it would also be great not having to logging every few minutes when i am testing something.
I check the places i remembered in administration and user preferences but apart from acount validity i didn t find anything.

in Apex 3.2: go to > Application #### > Shared Component > Security > Session Time Out... and set max session lenght and Idle and out URL.

Configure the maximum session limit of sshd

I have a need to increase the limit of the number of concurrent ssh sessions to a Solaris system. I have found the system's sshd_config file and I see '#MaxStartups 10'. Does this control the limit?

How to do something before the user session expires

Hi,
I need to do some extra cleanup (delete some rows from database, etc) before the session of a user expires.
I tried to do it with Phase Listeners, but haven't figured out how to put it on the session, I guess I need a kind of Listener.

Can implement ServletContextListener to fire off events on context destroy.

I just bought a docking station for my iPad so I could plug into a mixing board and record a live show. I was disappointed at the time limitation for the recordings. What is the maximum amount you can record a song into GB for the iPad?

I purchased a docking station for my iPad so that I could record a live recording of my band directly from a mixing board this weekend using GarageBand. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the song length limitations of the iPad version of this program. Basically, was unable to capture more than 15 minutes of the gig. I've read other conversations on this forum and can't really determine the maximum amount of time this application can record. Can anyone tell me how long GarageBand for ipad can record at one single time and how to adjust the settings to achieve this? Also, is anyone aware of any other apps than could be used to record a longer please share. Thanks.

I received an email reply from George, the Founder and CEO of Studiomini, he indicated to me that their app does not have any time limitations in regards to recording like GB does, you are only limited by the amount of free space on your iPad. Fo what it's worth, I think the Alesis IO Dock is an amazing piece of equipment. I would highly recommend purchasing the IO Dock and plugging your mixing board into the dock to capture your rehearsal. Hopefully the feedback I received from Studiomini is accurate and I can capture my entire rehearsal at one time. I hope this feedback helps. One last note, apparently their will be a update soon to view Studiomni in the landscape view on the iPad instead of just the portrait view.

"Maximum Session Length in Seconds" Not Working In Apex 3.2

Hello.
I am using Apex 3.2 and have noticed that pages are session timing out after just 10 minutes of inactivity. I am aware of the new security attributes "Maximum Session Length in Seconds" and "Maximum Session Idle Time in Seconds".
I asked our Apex admin and he reported that these attributes are set to 8 hours on the instance level. Within my own Apex application, these two attributes are not set at all. According to the popup help window associated
with these attributes, if they are not set, then there is no timeout at all that is enforced.
So, does anyone know why my application pages are session timing out after just 10 minutes of inactivity and users are forced to login again?

I've uploaded my Apex app called "Online Model", App ID 62063 in my workspace EEG on the Oracle hosted site apex.oracle.com.
Workspace = EEG
Username = [email protected]
Password = galaxy (I'll change the password after you're done helping me)
Orginally, this app had "Database Authentication" set. I changed this to "DAD Authentication" so that you can simply run it without having to login.
If I open up the app in developer mode and simply leave it alone for, say, 30 minutes and then click on the "developer bar" to see the definition of one of the pages, Apex instead prompts me to re-login again into Apex. I've not placed any values in any of the "Session Timeout" fields on any of the pages in this app.
When the same app is run as a user (that is, no "developer bar" appears at bottom of pages), again the page will time out after about 30 minutes of in-activity.
And as mentioned in my original posting, our Apex Admin has the "Administrator Timeout Session" field set to 8 hours.
The Apex 3.2 docs say that if no value is placed in these Timeout Session fields, then there is no timeout imposed.

SJSAS 9 and JSF - session expiration

I'm developing JSF (1.2) application. I'm using SJSAS 9, EJB 3.0 and toplink. My problem is session expiration. When user session expires and then user click for example on Save button on JSF form, application goes to login page, but after login user receive Internal server Error screen. As I see, session expires but after login, POST request is resend but all related objects don't exist any more (NullPointerException occurs in prerender method). Currently I'm redirecting to main page using following code:

...in try catch block ,in prerender method (JSF). Does anybody knows what should I do?

Have you tried to set a servlet filter to catch the error and build a nicer page?
If you can tell me how to set up a short session expiration time on Tomcat,
I can do the tests.
I am interrested in this issue as I will have to solve it for a project in the
next 2 weeks.

Session expired error(ISS , ASP related problem

We have one server which contain both ISS & WEB server ,on this server the database is running perfectly all right, also we are able to access the our site also (Named as UMPIRE ), but after few seconds , we get an error that the session is expired. Again when we refresh the page it start running. As per my knowledge, I think the session expire time given to the site is very less
Actually the web page is on ASP and ISS is installed on the server , i think some configuration setting is to be required for the ISS , after the installation
Can anybody help in this regard , what are the reason to get this error

Session Expired unexpectedly

Folks,
I am facing one intersting problem . I described it below .
In our production system we have set the user session expiriration time as 1 hour . But from this moring one session expired unexpectedly and other one is working fine ,if some users opened two sessions .. i don't know why . I checked their network . But it's fine.
Please help me .

Session expired, log out.

After reading or viewing an email attachment, try to return to emails and the message 'session expired, log out' appears and you are logged out. This is just one of numerous problems with BT Mail that never happened with Yahoo.
