Warning displayed at every obtar execution on OSB 10.3

Hi,
I am currently trying my backup and restore scripts with OSB 10.3 on Solaris 10 with a single tape drive (SDLT320). I've been using the scripts with OSB 10.1 previously.
At every obtar execution I have the following warning:
Warning: problem resetting error ctrs: bad data in r/w error counter page (OB scsi device driver)
further error threshold checking is disabled
and the error code ($?) is 114.
I see that some of the old obtar modes I've been using are discontinued in 10.3:
obtar -z
obtar -Xlabel
obtar -Xunlabel
Is this the cause of the warnings?
Also, for obtar -x I see that the option -p is not available anymore - does it mean that the files are restored by default with their original permissions and ownership?

Hi Adrian-- The obtar features you ask about are still present in 10.3. If you do an 'obtar -\?' at the command line you will see them. Here is evidence that they're still available:

appears to be device related. I would look in
$OSB_HOME/admin/state/device/<drive-name>/db for related messages

You might want to clean your tape drive for good measure, some older drives are
not accurate in reporting their need to be cleaned. Your message may be related
to OSB not being able to detect this type of information.

The Mac reads the USB cable as a midi device, but not the keyboard that I am trying to use as a controller. I have tried it with my korg sp 300 and with my Nord Electro 2.

Notice, -internal interface-. What you have is a simple USB MIDI Interface. Most MIDI interfaces are USB.
My point is (was), MIDI OUT of the Korg goes to the connector marked MIDI IN on the Alesis, those new to MIDI often get this wrong.

How to control the data to display for every users?

Hello Experts,
Im creating a module in ORACLE forms6i and I want to control all the data to display for every USERs. I have 1 Table and it has 5 columns.
My module has 5 columns and 5 rows of records to display.
Problems:
For USER1, I want to display all DATA in column3 and column4 only and all remaining columns shoud be null.
For USER2 , I want to dislplay all data in Column1 only and all remaining columns should be null.
How can i control all the data to display for each columns? Can you help me please. Im using the Clear_Items but its not working only the first row are null but the remaining
rows has its records.

I understand that you want certain columns not to show at all on the canvas when a certain user opens the form. Then, in the when-new-form-instance trigger, you should set_item_property(x_item, visible, property_false) for each item you do not want to be dislayed, depending on the user.

The failure is not because of display requirement but because of the below string in log which is strange.
Install MSI payload failed with error: 1620 - This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
1) Do you have any internet security software or Anti-virus software installed ? if yes, could you please turn it off and then check.
2) Are you installing from DVD or download link ?

I just wish that common features like layers, color, swatches, styles, masks, adjustments, character, paragraph and so on - looked and functioned the same across adobe applications. Is that too much to ask for?
In some cases, that would be absurd. Photoshop and Illustrator are fundamentally differerent environments, as they should be. Photoshop Layers and Illustrator/InDesign Layers are entirely different things, because a vector drawing program works with arranging OBJECTS (raster images, vector paths, text objects) in a Z stacking order and XY position. A Photoshop Layer is essentially just another raster image of the same pixel count as all the others, viewed optionally opaquely or transparently on your screen. It would be ridiculous if Photoshop created a whole new raster image every time you colored another selection of pixels. It would be ridiculous if Illustrator created a new Layer everytime you draw a new path.
Regarding text, Photoshop and Illustrator share the same lame text engine. Illustrator's should be like InDesign's, not like Photoshop's.
And that is a good case-in-point negating the silly defensiveness of Illustrator's outdated and buggy functionality. Illustrator's text handling remains poor today. But it was not updated even to today's treatment until CS 1. For most of its history, its text handling was pathetically primitive compared to that of other programs which were designed for exactly the same purpose and which competed directly with it. Should one "defend" that fact with some nonsensical argument that 'Illustrator is not meant to be a word processor'?
It was not until AI10 that its print dialog acquired a simple Fit To Page command. You had to manually figure and enter a scale factor, and that was limited on the low end to 25%. Can that logically be "defended" on the basis that 'AI is not an imagesetter'? Every dang software on the planet provides a Fit To Page print option!
This "It's not a technical illustration program" argument is every bit as nonsensical. Every one of Illustrator's direct competitors provides for user-defined drawing scales, and has for decades. Illustrator is just as "technical" a drawing program as those others are. It's just particularly lame at it in this regard. And since when is "technical" illustration not "illustration"? And since when is user-defined drawing scale only needed for "technical" illustration? Absolutely ridiculous.
So what if in its infancy Illustrator was a tool for PostScript workflow? Illustrator's leading competitor for most of its history, FreeHand, was initially based on the path drawing engine of a font design software. But when it went to market as a general illustration tool, it blew the functional and interface doors off Illustrator, and continued to do so throughout its history.
The simple fact is this: Throughout its history, Illustrator never kept up with the basic drawing features, interface refinements, and performance of its direct competitors. Its market share is primarily due to its carrying an Adobe label--and to the absurd defensiveness of too many of its users who have next to no experience with anything else.
Ilustrator, Indesign and Photoshop share about 90% of the same functionality.
Where do you get that?
Photoshop's primary purpose is fine-tuning of raster imagery, especially photography. You don't do sophisticated color correction, channel operations, sharpening, etc., in Illustrator or InDesign. That's what I would call its "90% functionality."
InDesign's primary purose is automation of repetitive assembly tasks and text handling in high page-count documents. You don't do master pages, indexes, tables of contents, constant spooling the hard disk, hundreds of externally linked raster and vector files, chapters-long threaded text stories in Illustrator or Photoshop. That's what I would call its "90% functionality."
Illustrator's primary purpose is general-purpose vector drawing (which most certainly includes many kinds of 'technical' illustration) using cubic Bezier curves, and page-assembly for low page-count, illustration-intensive documents. That's what I would call its "90% functionality."
Now ask yourself: Should programs fundamentally structured for different primary purposes necessarily share the same interface? I say no, not necessarily. Example: The mere use of the same term (Layers) in Photoshop and Illustrator for what are fundamentally two different things has led to a gross misunderstanding on the part of Photoshop users who are Illustrator beginners, which is repeated here in this very forum almost every day.
Ask yourself this: Should unyielding adherance to the organizational dictates of Adobe's so-called "unified" interface be allowed to result in a palette flyout menu in InDesign that contains only one option? Is the very concept of a 'menu' not fundametally antithetical to a single choice? Is that not just poor interface design, regardless of whether it "matches" that of the other programs in the so-called "suite"? (Frankly, I find Adobe's over-use of flyout menus--which effectively HIDE important options--generally both ill-conceived and poorly executed.)
No, there simply is no excuse for Illusrator's still lacking user-defined drawing scales, just as there was no excuse for its lacking multiple pages for two full decades, just as there is no excuse for its still lacking reliable snaps, connector lines, live shape primitives (!), proper arc-drawing, proper corner rounding, inline graphics, auto-fitting textframes, the ability to join multiple paths at once, (note that NONE of those can be called specifically "technical" drawing features) and a plethora of other functions that are bare-bones basic to vector drawing. The programs is just archaic and outdated in all these regards, and that's all there is to it.

So, i have to "Enable" my installed Add-ons on each reboot.

P.S.: I found that these files (and some others) will be deleted on each reboot, and it happens on computer start up (not at shut down)!

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Data not getting displayed in every page ...

Hi,
I'm facing a peculiar problem. I have a template where i want to display a certain table in every page but i can't place it in header. As far as i know it should get displayed if I select "Repeat as header row at the top of each page".
This table is under a group <?for-each@section:G_HEADERS?> ... The problem that i'm facing is the table is getting displayed in the first page but not on subsequent pages ... i even tried putting a simple table with a static text .. but its behaving simillarly .... I tried Table-> Heading rows repeat but to no avail ..
Please help me if someone has any solution ...

Do you have a single page or multiple pages?
You should be able to put a table in the header. Read up in the user guide on
<?start:body?>
<?end body?>
Which allows you define the header/foot inside the Word body.
In the 5.6.2 user guide it is on page 6-13:
Creating RTF Templates -> Defining Headers and Footer -> Multiple or Complex Headers and Footers.
In the word header you can use <??> command, but you have to spell them out and
not use form fields - becaue Microsoft Word does not allow form fields in headers.

How to use For Each execution in OSB

hi all,
I'm confused about the 'For Each' action in OSB. Now, I have a variable('max') which equals to 3 , and I wanna to use For Each action to perform a loop execution, something like for(1 to 3)--
The code is like below:
For Each variable 'value' of variable 'max' ,
Do{
Assign value to variable tempMsg;
Service Callout to PS with tempMsg
What I think is the 'value' should be increased from 1 to 3 itself, and the service callout should be performed by 3 times with '1', '2', '3'. However, it's not, the service callout action was performed once with the value of 3, just like the 1 and 2 were overwritten.
Any idea?

Youtube Embeds displaying on every tabbed panel

So I am having a problem with spry tabbed panels.
Everything seems to be going fine, except that every youtube video that is embeded shows on every page ( or almost every page) even though they are only contained with certain tabbedPanelContentGroups.
Is there anything to do about this? I would be happy to proivde code, but I'm hoping there is a quick fix as I would assume other people would have this problem.

Displaying messages after BDC execution

Dear All,
I am running a BDC to change the pricing of the return document in transaction VA02. The BDC is getting executed after the execution of one report which is diaplying some records in the output. The output values of the report are : Check Box, Sales Document No & Billing Document No.
After the BDC is executed for the selected records, I am getting a screen which displayes me for each record if that has been executed successfully or is there any error while executing BDC.
Now, I want that after the BDC has been executed, a list should be displayed which just shows about the Sales Document No which has been processed successfully by the BDC and another list which displays about the Sales Document No which are not processed successfully.
Kindly guide me on how I can proceed on this.

Using BDCMSGCOLL Structure we have to declare an itab.

Group by Item Display on Every Page

Hello,
I have created a standard Table using the Table Wizard. Is it possible for the Group by Item to appear on every page? I am able to Repeat the Header Row on every page but not able to display the Group by Item if the data continues to multiple pages. I know this sounds simple but I have been looking at documents and online but have not had any success with this. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

How to display current time when the inputs are added together and display intervals every sec?

Hi, I added the values together but the time in the graph is not showing the present time.
The one that is not displaying the current time is the voltage graph.
On the x-axis of the voltage graph i want it to display every second interval.

You also shouldn't be using the local variables. Instead, actually add up the signals from the wires. What you have there is a race condition since you can be reading from the local variables before the terminal is written to.

I keep getting an "untrusted connection" warning for nearly every url including my banks and have to go through the "confirm exception" etc steps. How can I keep having to go through this?????
