Warning:EINVAL creating segment of size

Hello!
I have installed the second SAP system (SOLMAN) on the same Unix-host (Solaris 5.10 sparc) and have problem after stopping of SAP to start the SAP system again.
I get the error from Oralce:
<b>ORA-27102: out of memory
SVR4R Error 22: invalid argument
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist</b>
I have checked the sga_max_size value in the file init<SID>.ora:
This parameter is set to the value 2.319.282.339
Through further investigations of alert<SID>.log I got the following information:
<b>Warning:EINVAL creating segment of size …
fix shm parameters in /etc/system</b>
After this I edited the file vi /etc/system and added:
<b>set shmmax=4294967295</b>
but nothing is changed.
Can som one help me here?
Thank you very much indeed!
regards
Thom

see also this oracle Note for the recommended settings:
<b>Note:169706.1:</b> <i><u>Subject:  Oracle Database on AIX,HP-UX,Linux,MacOSX,Solaris,Tru64 Operating Systems Installation and Configuration Requirements Quick Reference (8.0.5 to 10.2)</u></i>
You can get ORA-27102 error message, if the system can't allocate the Oracle SGA in the required size. Maybe your SGA is larger than OS restrictions allow.
Maybe you don't have enough virtual memory, or your SGA is too high, or the swap area of OS is not large enough, etc....That's why you should check the system settings according to the mentioned oracle and sap notes.

  • Anyway to create custom page size for designjet 500? wasting way too much paper!

    just got a hp designjet 500 from jobsite. hooked up to mac. everything prints fine................
    EXCEPT
    ok i did a simple test 'strip' in adobe illustrator setting the width of the document to 36" which is the size of the paper roll i'm using. i had placed a couple of strips of the same objects with different color fills close to the bottom of the 'artboard'. when going to select print i realized that the printer only recognizes standard page sizes and does not allow me to change to a custom size to say like 36"w by 4" h. so the print came out in the center of a 48" long size piece of paper which obviously wastes soooo much paper.
    so i can't create a custom size print page is there a way to have it print close to the bottom margin, turn off the cutting feature, print it, cut manually then move the paper back via the machine or would i have to do it manually and realign the paper and setup after every print?
    thanks in advance!

    In the second load_file procedure you should probably change the update command
    -- UPDATE THE BLOB FIELD
    UPDATE PDM
    SET FNAME = SRC_FILE,

    -- UPDATE THE BLOB FIELD
    UPDATE PDM

    WHERE  FNAME = '262-2827.pdf';but I'm not sure how to explain the eof error message. Usually this happens when you forget an "END;" or "END LOOP;" command.
    Ok I rechecked and the declaration of the second procedure seems wrong
    -- CREATE THE PROCEDURE TO LOAD THE FILE
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE LOAD_FILE AS (
    SRC_FILE BFILE := BFILENAME('PDF_DIR', '262-2827.pdf');
    DST_FILE BLOB;
    BEGINshould be rewritten as
    -- CREATE THE PROCEDURE TO LOAD THE FILE
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE LOAD_FILE
      AS
      SRC_FILE BFILE := BFILENAME('PDF_DIR', '262-2827.pdf');
      DST_FILE BLOB;
    BEGIN
    ...I removed one parenthesis which was not closed.
    And for the image_import procedure there is a semikolon missing after the final END.

  • How can I create a variable size array?

    How can I create a variable size array?

    ok then how can i create a new vector object?If you don't know that, you need to go back to your text book and study some more. Or read the tutorial on the basics of Java: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/java/index.html
    After reading that you can move on to: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/collections/index.html
    Anyway, the answer to your question is, of course:
    Vector v = new Vector();(But you should probably use ArrayList instead of Vector.)

  • Warning: Type created with compilation errors. sql : oracle 11gr2

    I'm trying to create a supertype customer service and subtype agent and supervisor, so they can inherent values however when I try to run this in oracle sql: a message comes up
    Warning: Type created with compilation errors.
    What is wrong with the code below?
    Create or replace type customer_s_type as object ( csID number, csName varchar(15), csType number ) NOT FINAL;  Create or replace type supervisor_type UNDER customer_s_type ( title varchar (10) );  Create or replace type agent_type UNDER customer_s_type (title varchar (10));  Create table supervisor of supervisor_type ( CONSTRAINT supervisor_PK PRIMARY KEY (csID));  Create table agent of agent_type (CONSTRAINT agent_PK PRIMARY KEY (csID));  create table customer_service( csID number(10), csType number(10), constraint supervisor_pk primary key(csID) );

    Wile creating TYPE you need to terminate with a back slash (/) semi colon does not work.
    Try like this
    create or replace type customer_s_type as object ( csid number, csname varchar(15), cstype number ) not final
    create or replace type supervisor_type under customer_s_type ( title varchar (10) )
    create or replace type agent_type under customer_s_type (title varchar (10))

  • Warning: Function created with compilation errors. ???

    I created a function with a warning:
    Warning: Function created with compilation errors.
    I'd like to know more detailed information about this warning, how to find them?
    If only with this warning, I don't know how to correct the definition of the function.
    BTW, because it is a warning, I just try to run the sql stmt which will call this function:
    SQL> select strdiff(ename, 'FOR') from emp;
    select strdiff(ename, 'FOR') from emp
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-06575: Package or function STRDIFF is in an invalid state.
    /* strdiff is the name of function */
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    I think that your posting may be more suited to the PL/SQL forum.
    after the function is created with errors you should try the command:
    show err
    or
    show errors
    this should at least give you some idea of what is wrong.

  • Create coustom page size for Smartforms

    Dear All
    How to create coustom page size for smartforms.
    rgds
    pramod

    HI
    To define a new page format, choose
    Administration -> CCMS -> Print->® Spool Administration.
    Choose Full Administration and then Page Formats on the Device Types tab page. On the next screen choose Change and  Create or  Create with Reference. Fill out the fields on the next screen.
    Activating a New Page Format
    Before using a new page format, you must specify it as a page format in a SAPscript form. Be careful when replacing a page format in a standard SAPscript form as the form may not necessarily fit on the new page format.
    You also have to define a format and device type format for the new page format before you can use it.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Creating  segment in IDOC

    Hi friends ,
    I am new to idoc's. I was trying to create a basic idoc . I went to /we31 transaction and entered the name and the fields .When i try to save . It gives an error message  the "data element is not active" .can u please tell how do i activate it so that i can go to next step .
    thank you

    Hi,
    Here is the general steps to create segments. Check the following steps.
    Enter transaction WE30 (ALE->Extension-> IDOC types->Maintain Idoc type)
    - Type in your name of the extended IDOC type (usually starting with 'Z') and click on the Basic IDoc type, click the create icon.
    - Click on Create new and enter a description and press enter.
    - Click on ZIDOCTYPE01 and then on the Create icon.
    - Enter ZIDOCTYPE as the segment type, click on Segment Editor.
    - Enter a description for your segment type and create.
    - Enter a description for your segment, enter each field required in your IDoc and press enter to validate.
    - Save and generate, press back
    - To release the segment choose Goto, Release from the menu.
    - Check the box on the line of your segment.
    - Save, back and enter.
    - Your Idoc type structure should be displayed with your new segment.
    - Save and back.
    - To release the Idoc type choose Extras, Release type from the menu and Yes.
    Thanks,

  • Creating Segment for a zIdoc

    Hi All,
    I want to create a segment in an Idoc. Shall I create database structure after creating the SEGMENT structure? First of all I want to create all the Segment structures and then I want to create structures in SE11.
    Please let me know shall I create Segment before I create actual database structure?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ramana

    Why do you want to create a database structure, once you created the segment with the fields, you can always define internal tables and structures by just refering to the segment name.
    e.g..
    Segment Z_SEGMENT1
    DATA: lt_itab type table of Z_SEGMENT1.
    DATA: ls_wa type Z_SEGMENT1.
    Hope that helps,
    Michael

  • Officejet 5610 not able to create custom print sizes

    Hi -- I use my Officejet 5610 for both my work and my personal printing needs.  On my work computer which has Windows XP as the operating system,  when I got to Properties and Paper Options/Quality tab there is a button for me to select "Custom Size".   On my personal computer which has Vista Home Basic as the operating system there is no option on the Paper Options/Quality tab to choose a custom print size.  Is there a driver that I might be missing which would allow the custom print size on the Vista computer?  I'm trying to print envelopes which are 6" x 9" and nothing I do seems to work.  I have managed to print one envelope using Letter size but that took about 6 hours to get one printed.   My envelopes keep causing a paper jam -- which once cleared from the printer is still showing up as a jam on the computer and I have to re-boot the whole system to clear it.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Try the following
    open solution center> Setting> Printer Settings> Print settings and you will find a custom option there and then create a new size and give it a name and when you print from any application you will see the new size reflection in the application. Are you not seeing the custom option as seen below?
