I have rented a movie from itunes, but when i click on the cloud in the video app, a message comes saying " you have rented this movie, but not downloaded. Go to downloads, to manage your downloads".
Can anyone please tell where to find this on my ipad to manage my downloads?

Not under pirchased, not under Filsm > Rentals. But when I reselvt it in iTunes it says "you have already rented this movie, but not downloaded. Go to downloads, to manage your downloads".

If you cannot get your rental to play, then report the issue to the iTunes Store to get it resolved or refunded.

I rented a movie and can watch preview perfectly with video and audio feed as signal strength is at highest when I checked. However, when I purchased rental video is fine , but I get scratched sound for audio. Any thoughts to fix? I rented movie within week and it worked. All previews of movies and show also works.
I have a suspicion that the problem is not in the recording device itelf, but rather in the playback-software, which is struggling with an unfamiliar audio format/codec/whatever-it's-called... I opened the file in QuickTime Player 7 (7.6.6) and selected "Show Movie Properties" and it says:
"Video Track: H.264
Sound Track: Integer (Little Endian)"
All current Mac systems support Integer (both Big and Little Endian) audio natively. The fact you can hear anything at all proves that the audio is playing back. The most likely problem would be a malfunction associated with the mic pickup. -
I bought this iPad (think it is an iPad 2 not actually sure, a about a few months ago. Yesterday I decided to go on iTunes store and purchase a rental movie which cost approx $6 NZD. After about 2 hours I ran out of data and the movie hadn't even downloaded halfway so I purchased more data thinking another Gb would do. Then i got a message from itunes that my ipad didnt have enough storage so i went into settings and dleeted apps and docs (apparently also deleted from icloud too) to make room for the movie. Now after purchasing another 7GB of data at over three times the cost of the rented movie it finally finished downloading and I had enough space on my iPad. But now I can't find the actual movie...I go to iTunes to purchases and view movies , to downloads and searched the title of the movie...I can see an icon of it and it is in a separate place from other purchases but it says downloaded in faded lettering. Where is it? Why have I just wastednearlyb$50 just tying to download and watch one measly movie! It is obviously some secret formula or thing I've missed...it shouldn't be so hard! The day before this I successfully downloaded a song I purchased and can listen to with no probs. do I need another app to store downloaded movies or something?

Movie rental plays on atv3 only through airplay from ipad
In ATV 3 downloaded rental movie disappears from line up of rented, purchased etc. I can download rental movie on to the ipad 4th gen and iarplay the movie on atv 3 only. I get a message on atv3 to go to settings and downloads but there is no "download" section in the settings for ATV 3. If I select the "check for rentals" I am told no rentals are present.
Basically, I can't play my movie rental through through atv3 but have to relay on my ipad to airplay it to atv 3. Help!I have spent 2 hrs. searching this forum and others for a solution to this problem. I have the same problem - I have an iPad 2, brand new ATV. We don't have fast Internet at home (can't stream video), so I rented a couple of movies from iTunes onto my iPad. I have a DLink router running (with no Internet connected) - the ATV and iPad are both on that network. When I mirror the iPad, the ATV says (on the TV) - it can't show it (I can't remember the precise message). Tried two movies - same result.
I know you can't move a rented movie you downloaded onto an iPad to your computer. But it seems like you should be able to watch a movie rental from your iPad to your TV via ATV. Is that not the case?

I have a rented movie on my iPad... Can I transfer it back to my Library so I can put it on a different device? I have not watched it yet and want it on my other iPad.
Not if you rented and downloaded it on your iPad, you can only watch it on that - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Old rental movies and old TV episodes show on iPad in iTunes (not really there)
For well over a year I have two rental movies (purhcased from iTunes store and watched) and several very old TV episodes (purchased from iTunes store and watched) show up (in iTunes) as being on my iPad but they are not really there. They appear as a light gray "ghost"...I waas forced to delete them during EVERY sync. I've tried several solutions to similar problems but they just keep coming back. I've hidden them in my iTunes account...tried to delete them from the iTunes library on my computer...to include "old iTunes libraries"...no luck...now I cannot even delete them while in iTunes...there is no option via right click anymore...EXTREMELY frustrating!
Heh, that's interesting. I usually drag and drop and then edit the metadata once it's on the device. Maybe there's some bug stopping the iPad getting the updated metadata correctly if done that way round.

I'm trying to connect my iPad to my tv so that I can mirror whatever is on my iPad. I want to stream movies online and watch on the tv. I have the digital av adapter and an hdmi cable but it's not working. Any tips ?
If this is an iPad 1, it won't mirror, but it will still output video from the 30 Pin dock connector.
If your new TV has a conventional VGA in and stereo inputs you can try this connector.

I used to stream video from both Netflix and YouTube and from my Mac using iTunes sharing through my iPad then with this connector plug into my iPad and TV.
It won't be high resolution, but it will get you picture from iPad to TV.

I rented a movie on my iPad but cannot move it to my computer to watch on tv via Apple tv. How do I transfer the rented movie to my computer?
I just rented a movie from my iPad2 and tried to play it through my ATV2 with AirPlay and same problem.... This is absurd guys. Apple I know there are copyright hoops to jump through but come on!! The whole pitch behind AirPlay and AppleTV was to make it easy to watch my purchases on my TV no matter what device they were on. Now I've got to hold my iPad in front of my face to watch a movie for nearly 3 hours!! And when I go to the support site I have no option other than to send an email to billing, screw this. I've not bought a DVD since I purchased my ATV2 over a year ago but if you guys are gonna pull this crap then what incentive do I have to continue the use of something that may or may not work the way it was advertised.
By the way, this is the first time I've had this problem because I normally rent straight off the ATV or my computer, which by the way I was considering replacing my PC with an iPad but looks like you guys aren't ready for me to make that kind of a switch.
Don't tell us that a product will do XY and Z then put limits on Y sending to Z.

Downloaded a movie from iTunes to my iPad. 2 minutes into the movie it stopped and My Videos is stuck in black screen mode. So basically rented a movie and never watched it.
The EXACT same thing happened to me last night! Rented a movie; it had barely started and then froze. When I touch the video app icon, all I get is a blank, dimly lit screen. None of the other videos I own will display either. Was your problem ever resolved?

I rented a movie in iTunes and connected my iPad to transfer the movie to the iPad. The rental section will not pop-up and I have confirmed the movie is not an HD movie. Any suggestions on what to do next?
I would ask iTunes Store support for help with this. You may never be able to get the movie to download on your own now.

it was a rental from itunes and the previous movie played no problem. From ipad on mirror.
Was an internet connection available?
I'm not sure I would ever play a rented movie by mirroring from an iPad as mirroring is lossy and reduces quality.
It may actually not work via mirroring.

Have you checked that the App is compatable with your 2nd Gen iPod and its iOS version...
