    Hi,
I want to deploy the discoverer reports in htmldb. Can u plz check if it is possible or not. If possible, plz let me know the detailed steps of the deployment.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramky

    Hi Ramky,
I'm not sure what you mean by "deploying Discoverer reports in HTML DB".
However, here are a few notes.
HTML DB and Discoverer are separate but complementary products. HTML DB is used to create and maintain data in a schema. Discoverer is used to extract and print data from the same schema.
If you want your users to log on only once, look at Single Sign On (SSO). Both products work well in the SSO environment.
    Hope this helps.

  • Deploying Discoverer Reports

    Hii
I have created the discoverer reports in a test environment and now need to deploy those reports in production server. Is this possible? or i need to again create those reports in production server?
I have created dimensions and cubes using AWM and reports using Oracle Discoverer Plus OLAP. I have measures and calculated measures in the report. Now all these setups will be made in production environment and then i want to deploy the reports in discoverer plus.
    Please help me...
    regards,
    Aneesh

    Hi,
You don't need to rebuild them in the prod.
You need to export the object you changed (BA for ex.) from the develop env and import it in the production.
To do that you need the discoverer administrator tool.
Look in the administrator guide to see the exact steps.
I suggest you move them from develop to another env (such as test) before importing it to the production.

  • Invoking a Discoverer Report from a web page written in JSP

    Hi,
We are using Discoverer 10.1.2 against a relational database. We are not using the OLAP option.
I have a requirement wherein users would like link to a Discoverer Report from a web application which is not deployed in Oracle Portal. So Discoverer portlets are not the solution.
I basically need to be able to provide the Report URL in the JSP page.
Has anybody done this ? Can you please provide some pointers towards how to generate the Discoverer report URL to invoke the report from a JSP ?
    Thanks
    Manav

Discoverer URL parameters can be found here in the Configuration Guide here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13918_03/urlstart.htm#sthref888
Note, that you cannot pass the password in the URL (security restriction) so you will need to use Public or Private connections and pass the connection ID or use an HTML form to build the URL using the POST method.
Or, you can fill in the desired fields and let the user enter their username/pwd.
Hope that helps get you started.
    Regards,
    Steve.

  • Oracle Discoverer report shows drilldown icon in Web version

    Hi ,
I am trying to create a new CROSS TAB Discoverer report. I made all my development done using the Discoverer desktop edition and is fine. When I saved in the database and showed the same report the User, in the Web Version, the report shows ' >' icon in all the cross tab headings and when the cursor is moved there, it gives an option to Drill down.
We have 3 fields which are selected but not shown in the report. It shows the drill down to those 3 fields.
    My questions is:
    1. I should not allow users to drill down. It should not show that option.
How to disable that option in the Web Version.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran Kesari

Yogini is correct, but the solution provided will remove drill capability for all users under all circumstances. This is a "shortcoming" of Disco. If you set up a hierarchy for the users to use for drilling, the users must have the drill out privilege. This has the additional effect of adding the "Drill to related..." feature to most (and I believe all) columns.

  • Web discoverer report run slow after upgrade to AS10.1.2.48.18

We just upgraded our application server to 10.1.2.48.18, our web Discoverer report were running extremly slow on tables that contain large amount of data. We have good speed with those report in the past. The backgroud database was the same as well as the web server.Using desktop version of Discoverer were fine with normal speed.
Does any one know why? How to speed it up?
    Thanks!

    A few things to check:
Are all machines using the same version of SQL*Net?
Are the reports in different EULs (if so, are the EULs at different versions)?
Do all reports work in Disco Plus or Disco Desktop?
What types of reports are failing (cross tabs, tabular, both)?
For the reports that are failing, how many rows are you expecting?

Usually you don't have to do anything. Your rdf or rep files can run both in client server or web mode.
Go to OTN for tons of info on the subject, e.g. http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/faq/faq_migration.htm

  • Pre-Purchase Question - Deploying Crystal Report to SSRS Report Server

Our company has recently installed a SQL 2005 server for our accounting system.  I had intended going down the path of using SQL Reporting Services as our reporting tool and deploying them to the builtin Report Server.  However, I've been using Crystal Reports for years and find it much more user friendly for a non-programmer to use.  I can actually write a report in Crystal, SSRS took me 3 days to achieve very little, I believe it requires too much SQL reporting knowledge for a beginner.
After spending many hours trawling the net looking for a solution to this problem, I found that Crystal comes as part of Visual Studio.  However, I also believe the version of Visual Studio that comes with SQL2005 is the basic version, and I'd need the Pro version to get the Crystal add on.
To this end, I've downloaded the trial version of Crystal 2008 and installed it.  I find I can write a report in Crystal, and then I can manually add that report to a SSRS project. When I open the Crystal Report within Visual Studio I can see all the correct Crystal toolbars and menus etc, so it would appear that the installation of Crystal for Visual Studio has integrated properly.  I can then deploy that report to the Report server and see the report on the web page.  However clicking to open the report then opens the full Crystal Reports application, instead of just displaying the report in the web page.
I've been unsuccessful in finding a solution to the above deployment problem.  I'm seeking a solution so that my users can just see the report without Crystal itself opening up.  I've been advised that there is a Crystal Report Server that I can purchase, but I don't wish to go to that expense when we already have this functionality built into our SSRS server.
Can you please advise if it's possible to deploy the Crystal report to the SSRS Report Server and then open the report within the web page without opening the full Crystal app, and if so what steps I would need to take to implement this.
If this issue can be resolved, I'll be more than happy to purchase the full Crystal 2008 package and forget SSRS as a bad idea.
Sorry to be so long winded, I wanted to be clear what the issue is.  Any information /advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hello Diane,
I would not know if Crystal Report can be used with SSRS but I know for sure that you can use the embedded Crystal Reports Version with comes with VS 2005 or VS 2008 to create reports and to display them in web and windows application.
We have lots of samples how to do this in our [dev community|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/].
Also, you can use [Crystal Reports 2008|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/developer/library/CR2008SDK] with MS SQL 2005.
Other products like Crystal Reports server can also use MS SQL 2005.
Please see our [supported platforms for CR 2008|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000712280&_OBJECT=011000358700000675322008E] on windows.
    Hope this helps

  • Discoverer Report Registation

    Hi
i am working for the discoverer reports for the first time it is good to
working on it but i dont know how to register them to oracle applications
and how to run from the front end?
can any body help me out of these...?
    Krishna.V

    Hi,
I think, we need not to register the Discoverer reports in Apps.
Once we save the report in the database, we should share it to the proper responsibilities. It can be then accessed thru web-based tools like Discoverer Plus/ Viewer by any user having the proper responsibility.
Do you still need to combine this with Oracle Apps?
    Regards,
    Yogini

  • Can't start the web site of Reports Services

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?
After installation of the 9iAS, can't start the web site of
    Reports Services
and Form Services from the URL listed in the postinstallation
    guide using
default port no 1950. The dev60html and devdem60/demo
    directories are not
existing, the runrep.htm and runform.htm files are in the
    directory
tools/web60/html. I also tried to replace the dev60html with
    tools/web60/html
in the URL but it won't work.
During the installation the discoverer and portal tools failed,
    the portal
hanged at 100%, and the discoverer didn't install the util
    directory. But we
can login to the portal from the URL.
Below is the message when I start from the command line: I am
    not sure if it is
    working.

    Hi,
Dumb question : is one of your server listening on port 7001 ? If not, should it ?
What is the expected behavior ? A managed trying to connect to the admin server ?
Check the value for ADMIN_URL value, set in the startManagedServer.sh or cmd.
Another dumb question : do you have a firewall ?

  • Deploying Crystal Reports runtime using merge module failed

    Hi,
I am having a problem when deploying Crystal Reports using merge module runtime, included into MS Visual Studio web setup project, when installing my *.msi with CR runtime on a completely clean PC (with only MS Windows installed). Error: Failed to register one of the Crystal Reportsu2019 *.dll because it could not find Microsoft visual C++ runtime (msvcr71.dll was not in Windows\System32 folder)
I am using Crystal Reports runtime merge modules, which I downloaded from here: https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
    I tried both cr120_mm.zip (Crystal Reports 2008) and cr121_mm.zip (Crystal Reports 2008 SP1)
cr120 could not find msvcr71.dll, cr121 could not find msvcp80.dll.
    Steps to reproduce:
    -          In MS Visual Studio 2008 create a new empty Web Setup Project.
    -          Add Crystal Reports merge module CRRuntime_12_0.msm or CRRuntime_12_1.msm
    -          Build *.msi
    -          Try to install this *.msi on a completely clean PC. I tried it on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP3, which did not have msvcr71.dll or msvcp80.dll files in C:\Windows\System32 or in any other PATH folders.
    -          During installation there is an error u2013 failed to register one of the Crystal Reportsu2019 *.dll
I am looking forward to hear from you.
    Thank you.

  • FORMS - WEB DEPLOYMENT - NEED HELP -

    Hi

What steps are needed to get the Forms run on our Intranet as

    Hi Karthi,
Forms is not a HTML web deployment. The deployment is based on
generic Applets. This means that we are transferring the UI to a
browser by simply replacing Motif (in your case) with Java on the
server side. If you want to deploy a Forma application in the web
just create s static HTML file (example files can be viewed after
installing JInitiator) with a reference to your Forms Module that
you use as a starting point. Start the Forms Server on the
command shell with f60ctl start port=9000 (if yiou want to use
port 9000). Via the web you access the Forms Server by calling
the static HTML File. In this HTML there is a request for the
    Forms Listener.
Hope this short answer will give you a hint.
