Web layout column colouring

Hi,
i have a requirement to colour a column in layout. I looked at web blog from sheldon..
document.getElementById ("LAYOUT_LAY001-2-3-cell").style.backgroundColor="yellow";
it works, for a particular cell. But i want to colour all rows in the layout for a particular column. My knowledge in javascript is very basic.. Can somebody help on this..

Is it possible to color a specific column using exceptions (same color) ? Is it possible to color the column with characteristics ? Can it be based on a condition (if char value = A, red, char value = B, green etc).

Can't Freeze Row/column in Web layout in Integrated planning

Hi Guys
we have 50 columns in planning query. Web layout screen can't present all these column in one screen . While scrolling for viewing rest of the columns the initial column(Description) disappears i.e scrolled out and hence it is very difficult to corelate which Key Figutre value (Value) represent which Object(InfoObject).
We need a way around of freezing of columns functionality which is available in BPS but not in BI IP.

How to change width columns in web layout?

hello,
I have problem with change width columns in web. I can change width column in paper layout and is ok but If I run web layout I get one column very wide and second thin. I cant find where I may this change
I find that is no easy. If you want change property in web layout you must edit JSP file, and you must know Java/JSP/HTML, and library reposrts JSP custom tag and reports xhtml tags.

The easiest way is to use the Microsoft OWC (office Web component) and you can have Excel on the web where you have to publish the layouts for the web.
If not, and you use pure web, Olaf Fisher's paper might be published as a how to guide by now. I would suggest a search on SDN. I have downloaded the file a long time ago but I think it is on the server in the office.

BPS - Freezing lead columns in HTML web layouts

Hi all,
Is it possible somehow to freeze the lead columns in the HTML web layouts?
I know the freezing can be done in the OWC excel in place, but then I can't find how to make the hierarchical display possible for excel in the web? Is this somehow possible?

How to acheive Pagination and Dynamic sorting in Web layout.

Hi All,
I'm new to Oracle Reports. I use Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2.
I tried creating a template for simple tabular report. I modified the tempalte for Paper layout, Web layout ie modified .tdf, html, css files.
When the data is dispalyed in the web browser, i need to do Pagination and dynamic sorting (ie when the column heading is clicked, it needs to do sorting by that column).
In the jsp page of the report, it is possible but i want to incorporate this functionality in the Template. So that a single template can be used across multiple reprots with out any modification.
Can any one please tell me how to do this.
Please reply me at the earliest. Its very urgent.

You'll need to switch from using Partial Page Rendering to full page submits on that report. In version 4.0 we should be getting more control over event handling in PPRs but to what extent is still unknown.

Web Layout different in Reports Builder to running in URL

When I go to Run Web Layout for a report in the Oracle Reports Builder, the columns are formatted differently to when I run the report from a browser (ie. font is smaller and the columns seem to wrap when they seem to fit nicely when running Web Layout in the Reports Builder). In fact, it looks identical to what is shown in the 'paper layout' in the report editor.
I have used 'desformat=htmlcss', so why does it look different? Can I make the browser version look like what is shown when running Web Layout in the Reports Builder? If so, how?

I am too facing the same problem for quite a long time and left it unresolved. So what i am doing for now is changing the font size and adjusting the paper layout manually.

Ok, i solved the (false) problem...for the few people who don't know:
in the def. of planning layout go to tab lead column and chose key/definition in display column for the infoObject...generate the layout and go back to the first screen in planning layout edit and select the type of text you want to display (short, medium or long).

for where you store the image you can store it in the database table in the blob column such as. for the report layaut containing image take the following:
- in the report layaut you can create a report selecting a table that containing the blob column.
- in the report layaut, modify the property of the item that present the database blob column to image.

Excel in Web layout: calculation of total after a cell change

Hi,
I'm using BW 3.5 with SEM BPS 4.0 and Excel in Web layouts. I can see the total rows/columns are not updating automatically after a cell change like it does in "normal html-web". User has to press refresh or save to update the totals. Any workarounds?

Hi Aki,
no I mean in <u>Excel</u>.
When editing the layout, on the third screen, in excel, go to Tools->Options.
Then click on the "Calculation" Tab.
Calculation needs to be set to automatic otherwise you have to refresh to update any results for a given formula.

Supporting drilldowns in BIP reports defined in Web Layout Template Editor

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to show a table in a BIP Report defined in a web layout template editor and within this report, if there is drilldown on one of the columns, we would want to display more details in an additional column to be displayed afresh. Also, we have a requirement to display the same whenever there is a selection from a report prompt. In addition, is such a drill down feasible from within a graph? Is this achievable? We know this is feasible in OBIEE - not sure about BIP. Any pointers in this direction is appreciated!

How to display clob/blob in the web layout using Reports9i

I've created a report that selects both a clob and blob datatype in the query. However, when I run the report using the 'Run Web Layout' tool no data is displayed for these columns. Does the <rw:field> tag support such datatypes ?.

Hi Chris,
Reports9i supports both BLOB and CLOB in both paper as well as web layout. Pl make sure that in the column properties that you want to display, you have selected the "File Format" correctly (to do this, go to data model > column > property inspector > file format). Eg, you can select "text", "image" etc depending on what you have stored in the column. Also, when you want to display an image in the web layout, you will have to write containsHtml="yes" inside your <re:field> tag.

Webi Alternate Row Colour

I have a webi report which colour lines must have alternate colours. I customized that on the table proporties, in webi, but it's not working... is there some kind of trick to activate alternate row colours?

If you change "Alternate Row/Column colors"property of block then it should applied for that particular block only.
If you want other colors for other blocks then do the same steps.
Frequency is by default 2. Which tells us the applied color should show alternatively, and 3,4, etc..., follows like that.
FYI if you change property of a block and insert new objects then you can't see colors again for the same block.
Manually you need to do it again to appear.
Eg:
if i individually insert say 5 rows to block and drag unique report variables to each row, the alternative colours are not coming up.
How to acieve this?
This is the problem, the alternate row fucntion works for a row which have more than one value. In your case you have different variables for each row then you have to do it manually. Remember that if you have more than one value for any variable the second row of that variable will be 255,255,255. By default first row gets the alternate color. You get the same alternate color for all 5 rows because it's first row of all the 5 variables.
One trick is give alternate color as 239,239,239 for first row and 255,255,255 for second and so on.

Multiple line selection in BPS web layout

Hello experts
I know there is a "row/column" option for layout in WIB, but it only provides the "radiobutton" but not "checkbox", hence I only can select single line in the layout but not the multiple lines.
anybody has idea to solve the problem?

Patrick, it's quite difficult to explain it, if you are not familiar with BSP
I can show only direction for you in such case, because whole implementation is quite hard and depends of you requirements.
In short, you should generate your application in WIB with "Generate class" set true and keep "Name of generated class" filled.
Then, you should go to se80, select BSP appication, enter name of your application, then, you will have layout2.htm in Views. This page implements web-layout. You should change HTML and ABAP coding for this page to put checkboxes and write some code to implement your business logic.
