Webi to excel with filters in excel on

Is it possible to save BO XI R2 webi report to excel with filters for all columns in excel on?

My question is, is it possible to make the autofilers on when we save webi report in excel. I know its not possible dirclty, I am thinking in sdk perspective if possible?

    Go to View Options where you will select Narrative View or Pivot Table under that you can see a Filters,Just click and export the results to excel it will work,Below the screen shot for your reference.

    But it very important for us to only allow the user to only export the data which is available on the table currently, basically export to excel WITH filters and not everything which is in the infoprovider.

    Hi Apeksha,
    you can achieve this requirement (unless I do not know the detailled requirement) perhaps by using this way of implementation:
    1. Create a new template which contains an info_field which does a data binding to the variable values or the characteristic you want to display. Set the visibility of the top container to "hidden". Add a empty data provider to this template. However be aware that the name for the (empty) data provider must match the name of the data provider within the original template you want to print.
    2. Open your original template and include the template you created in step 1 (Advanced: Web Templates and technical name of the web template created in step 2). Choose the appropriate location (above/below the analysis item).
    3. Check the settings of your export command: do not set a special web item to be printed.
    If you export the template within web the second template should be printed correctly displaying the variable settings chosen in step 2 for the info_field.

  • Data filter in Excel 2013 disappears when Excel is reopened

    I recently upgraded from Office 2010 to Office 2013.  Unlike the previous versions of Excel, the data filter in Excel 2013 disappears.  Save the Excel with filters applied, close and reopen
    the file, filter is not retained.  Even the filter mark is not to be seen.  Not sure if its a bug,
    but there are other tiny such bugs were encountered in 2013 Excel.

    Based on my test, Data filter does not lost when we re-open the file in Excel 2013. Thus, I think it is not a bug. Thus, please provide us more information to assist you better.
    Did this issue occur with the previous file that created with Office 2010?
    Have you tried to re-create a new file to test?
    If this issue occur only with the previous file that created with Office 2010, this issue might be caused by the file compatibility, pleases use compatibility checker to update the files:

  • Excel with contents in web dynpro for ABAP application

    I have excel file (example "http://xxxx/test.xls") with contents in remote system. I want to incorporate this excel file into my web dynpro application. For this I used Officecontrol UI element and set the following properties for Officecontrol
    1. datasource : binding with context attribute DATAS(xstring)
    2. document type : ms_excel
    I wrote code the following code in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method.
    data :   content TYPE xstring,
               url TYPE string VALUE 'http://xxx/test.xls'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
      EXPORTING
        text           = url
    IMPORTING
       BUFFER         = content .
    wd_context->set_attribute( name = 'DATAS' value = content ).
    while running my application, I getting excel without contents and with one message "SAP IOS". Please suggest how to display excel with contents in view of my application.

    I think you are overestimating the power of the SCM_STRING_TO_XSTRING function module.  By supplying a URL as the value of the input text, it isn't going to magically go read the content from the remote location and convert that to a binary string.  It is going to take whatever value you supply in th importing TEXT parameter convert that to binary.  In other words it is literally converting the string http://xxx/test.xls to binary.  You will need some other mechanism to read the content from the remote location into ABAP memory before you can process it.  You will need to use the CL_HTTP_CLIENT class or call some sort of web service to retrive the content.

    4)Report name øäåýþ saved, displays with other junk characters instead of actual reporta name( øäåýþ)
    5)When saving the save report through IE browser in excel or PDF  display correct report name øäåýþ in excel and PDf file.
    Even after making changes in character encoding to UTF in the Firefox options (Content tab-> font & colors : advanced button -> Character encoding does not make any  difference.
    Has anyone came across such type of issue?
    Whether this is limitation of Firefox or bug.

    I am facing issue in downloading webi report in excel with images.
    I am not getting any image in the wei report which are there in ANY part of it . like header, body and footer, but the download for pdf is working fine.
    I am using BO XI R2 webi and i need download only to excel with images as per the user requirements.

    Had a discussion with BO tech support, they said it is an issue with Business Objects and it can be fixed in future versions.

    There are options for the "save as excel" step .   either a) for formatting ,   or b) for data
    these should help.
    The reason why there are 'undesirable'  rows (also, merged rows / columns) is because your report document has table outlines which have been positioned 'by eye'.
    When the rendering algorythm outputs it content,  it's looking at pixel-level , so the relative position of borders can get messed-up. It's mainly due to slightly sloppy formatting.

    ootb, changes in excel don't sync with a SharePoint list, the other way around is possible.

  • Issue with export in Excel in WAD

    Hi
    I have an issue with export to excel in WAD. I have a web template with two or more tabs.
    On the webtemplate I have two buttons to export to excel. One to export the content from the active tab and one button to export content in all tabs.
    My problem is that when I export to excel it always add the current/active content twice. I've tried with both buttons and they work as expected except that they export one table to much (the active).
    can anyone help / give a clue what to look for.

    I've defined my export button group like this in a seperate template and I expected that it would only return the resultset from TAB_A and TAB_B but it also export the resultset from the tab I'm currently on.

    I am using Oraclereports 10g version, i know desformat=spreadsheet will create single worksheet with out pagination, but my requirment is like the output should be generated in .xls file, and each worksheet will have both data and graphs.
    rdf paperlayout format will not workout for generating multiple worksheets.
    Is it possible to create multiple worksheets by using .jsp weblayout(web source) in oracle reports10g. If possible please provide me some examples

  • Customize download to excel with disclaimer

    I need to customize download link in dashboard so that results are downloaded to an Excel sheet but with client' s disclaimer message at the end. Client do not want the disclaimer to be shown on the dashboard. So basically we need to alter the download to Excel link at the system level, so that whenever it is clicked, the report gets downloaded to an excel with the disclaimer message at the end.
    I did some work and found that when we click on Download To Excel option, a function gets called from file \OracleBI\web\msgdb \viewscontrolmessages.xml, there we have:
    Download(&#39;@{command}&amp;Format=mht&am p;amp;Extension=.xls&#39;)
    I think someway we need to alter this download function so that it appends a disclaimer message to Excel after every download.
    Or let me know if you think any other way!

    This seems now "re-inventing the wheel" sort of requirement. I was looking into possibility of using GO URL to get the report in csv and then writing a java script to append the disclaimer text in the downloaded file . But am stuck on the front, how to store the file without any manual effort. Because when we use Go URL a save as pop-up throws, rather I want when user clicks on our customized Download link, it should download the data and store in a file and then append it with a disclaimer text and then throw a save as pop-up.
    Also has anyone any idea how to use the any OBIEE java functions in a java script written in text view ( with html enabled ) ?
    Let me know if anyone has any thoughts on how to do that!

    My client has a jsp web app running on Websphere. Currently, it has a function downloading data into excel sheet
    Now, they want to download excel with charts on it
    I know it is not so hard to do in fat clients but this case, we have a jsp webapp, and i don't know how to deal with the excel charts, templates from a jsp server
    What is the best way for me to archive that requirement.

    I am using CUBEVALUE fucntion in Excel with many dimension as filter.
    For the below condition, CUBEVALUE function failed to return values based on filter, it returns all value.
    Case 1:
    Dimension1 - COLUMN1 ( All Value )
    Dimension1 -COLUMN2  ( Single Value )
    --> CUBEVALUE returns proper value.
    Case 2:
    Dimension1 - COLUMN1 ( All Value )
    Dimension1 -COLUMN2  ( Mutiple Value )
    --> CUBEVALUE returns ALL values and it does not consider Dimension1 -COLUMN2 filter.
    Case 3:
    Dimension1 - COLUMN1 ( Multiple Value )
    Dimension1 -COLUMN2  ( Mutiple Value )
    --> CUBEVALUE returns proper value.
    Could you please help me to understand how CUBEVALUE function works based on filter value? Is there any way to profile the value based on filter?

    Hi Ravi,
    According to your description, you are using CUBEVALUE function in EXCEL, and cannot get the expected results when using FILTER function, right? CUBEVALUE function only allows calling a measure which is then filtered using member expressions. What this means
    is that you cannot create MDX calculated members on the fly using the CUBEVALUE function. Here are some links that might helps.

    2) Office Web Application (OWA)
    3) Excel Services [Recently added for BI features]
    my excel sheets are opening using OWA and I know have to suppress it using powershell New-SPWOPISuppressionSetting to make excel sheets open using excel services.
    but some of my libraries are using IRM and excel sheets are not opening using EXCEL services.
