Weblogic 7.0.0.1 - Publish To Topic No Consumer Server dies

We have been working on a problem using Weblogic Tuxedo Connection
whereby we called an EJB which published to a topic at around 200mps.
          Using Solaris 2.8
          Tuxedo 7.1
We got a case number 347073.
Zach/Tom - Since we were doing performance testing we didnt initially
          have
any consumers on the topic since it is my understanding that JMS topics
will discard the message if there are no consumers. However after
          running
about 20 minutes we had all sorts of problems you can refer to that case
Then we did the EJB without any topic publishing and it ran for 16
          hours.
Then I added back using the publish in the EJB and added one consumer.
We are running for 3 hours and all looks well.
There appears to be an issue with publishing a large volume of messages
          to
a JMS topic. NOTE: ttl etc were all defaults in the example server
          which comes
          with weblogic 7.
          Any Ideas??
I will be posting this as well to WTC newsgroup as we have the case open
          with
          the folks in New Jersey

  • Can I make another website using iWeb,then publish it to a different server through the SMTP panel on iWeb

Can I make another website using iWeb, and then publish it to a different server through the SMTP panel on iWeb, even though I have a website published on mobile me, can I just use the SMTP engine to publish a different site but to a different server, that's the question I'm asking. I'm hoping for a quick reply. Thank you for your time in reading this.

Yes.  You can do it one of two ways:
1 - select FTP Server in the Publish To menu (click on the site folder to get to the options) and enter the FTP address, username and password and publish as you would if using MMe.
2 - select Publish to Folder and publish. Use a 3rd party FTP client like  Cyberduck to upload the site files to there server using the FTP address, etc.

Nothing is built in Project Server to do this for you automatically.
They way I have done this in the past is to create a SQL job using SSIS.  It runs every hour and when it sees a project schedule that has a recent PUBLISHED date then this is a trigger to send an email to project manager.
    Cheers!

  • Publish to .mac AND other server

    Question:
I already publish to .mac - no problems there. I need to publish another website on another server. I published to a folder, used Fetch to upload it - works great (I know I lose some of iWeb's features, but that can't be helped).
Here is my question - now when I publish to .mac - the second site I created for the other server loads on my .mac space also. This is not a huge deal - I have no links from one site to the other, it just seems like a waste of space. Is there a way I can choose to upload only my primary site to .mac and not the other one as well?
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
The best thing to do in your case is to separate your two sites into two separate Domain files. That way the two sites can be edited and published independently from one another, so you don't have to have both sites uploaded to .Mac.
If you are in sort of the beginning stages of doing this second site, it might be easiest to start over in a new Domain file. If however, you do not wish to start over with the second site, then splitting off this second site to another Domain file can be done as well.
I'll refer you to a page put up by Mark Heaton (Apnewbie) on the process of domain separation...
    http://web.mac.com/mark8heaton/iWeb/DomainSeparation
You might also find this iWeb helper application called "iWebSites" useful in managing your multiple domain files and creating new domain files, etc...

  • Publishing .shtml files to web server

    Hi,
I am evaluating CQ5 to manage my web application having .html and .shtml pages (pages with SSIs, server side includes). I want to manage the web content - htmls, .shtmls, images etc using CQ5.
    I have following questions -
    1. Does CQ5 have any restrictions in publishing pages with extension .shtml?
    2. What are the best ways to manage these .shtml in CQ5?
    3. How do I publish these .shtmls to web server?
    Regards,
    vkp

As a general rule anything you manage in CQ gets published to the web server via the Dispatcher plugin. Dispatcher functions as a reverse proxy sending request back to the publish servers and caching the result.
As far as managing the .shtml items I am assuming that you want them to be generated and managed as pages in CQ with traditional component authoring interfaces. You will have two big challenges in this scenario:
Sling request handling - Sling uses the extension to map a request to script. By default sling would consider .shtml to be different than .html and you'd need to name your JSPs appropariately. This could be problematic if you are reusing components across both page types. I have never tried this, but you could consider using the Sling Default Get servlet's alias configuration to map .shtml to .html which might work, but I have never actually done that.
Link rewriting - you are going to have to write a layer of code that you use in your components to properly set the right extensions on the URLs when linking to these .shtml pages. By default CQ is just going to add .html. You will need to make sure you have some sort of way to tell in the page's meta-data whether or not it's an .shtml - perhaps based on template and then make sure you take that into account when writing out links. The rich text editor will be a challenge because adds the .html in JavaScript and stores it in the repository. You will have to override this in someway if you want to link to these .shtml pages in a rich text editor.
In the past when I have needed to leverage SSIs through CQ I have just configured Apache to do do the SSI processing on .html to avoid these challenges. It means a heavier load on the web tier and it has some potential issues but generally is a better option than trying to get CQ to handle the .shtml extension.
Also the other thing to consider is whether or not you really need .shtml files since CQ is pretty dynamic - usually you can figure out how to handle the dynamic assembly in CQ and not at the web tier (or using AJAX).
Or did I misunderstand your plan - are you managing these as files in the DAM. If you are managing them as files in the DAM then you just have to make sure that you have a rendering servlet that will set the right mimetype.

  • Publish reports in the Application Server

If I make a report at the designer, how can I publish it at the Application Server, so I can call it through the browser?
    thank you!

Does it matter if you have no ther choice ?
if you have to use 10g reports as reporting engine and forms 6i as "application" there will be no other chance.
I would try to avoid sending username/password@sid when calling the report, you can do this using "named configurations" using the cgicmd.dat file (see documentation)

  • (266758030) Can WebLogic Workshop Web Services be deployed on a different Application Server?

(266758030) Q(asked by Lalit Sudan): Can WebLogic Workshop Web Services be deployed
    on a different Application Server?
A(by Adam Fitzgerald): .jws files are not yet an accepted standard so you can expect
that the WebLogic Workshop Web Services cannot be ported to other Application Servers,
however, it is a general goal to expand the functionality of the Workshop tool for
    other App Servers.

Just so you'll know Oracle9iAS also includes apache as the HTTP server.
As Suncan said, if you want to use Forms on the Web you need the Forms Server engine, and it comes bundled in Oracle9iAS. You'll save yourself a lot of headache if you just install Oracle9iAS and have everything pre-configured for you thus reducing maintanance costs.

  • Publish iCal Calendar using Tiger Server

I've been searching for a simple way to publish iCal calendars using Tiger Server. Here is what I need to do:
I need one user to be able to publish multiple "studio schedule" calendars to the Tiger server...and I need all the regular users in the studio to be able to subscribe to it so that they can see what work they have scheduled for the day. The regular users do NOT need to be able to make changes to the calendar...they only need to see it. (and print it if needed) Only the studio manager needs to be able to see and edit the published calendar.
I called Apple support for help on this one and they told me they would have to charge me $695 just for me to be able to get help on this....which surprised me because I'm just trying to use their software to do something it is supposed to be able to do! LOL The only other suggestion he could give was for me to look to the discussion groups here for help....so here I am!
    HELP!
    xServe G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   xServe G5

The first thing you need to do is set up WebDAV on the Server and share a directory. If you need instructions on how to that just follow this thread.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2793917#2793917
Once you've set up a shared directory you just publish the calendar to it from within iCal.
To do that, set up a calendar, select it and then select 'Publish' under the 'Calendar' menu. In the dialog box that opens up give the calendar a name without spaces. Select 'Publish on: a Private Server'.
In the field for 'Base URL:' fill-in the complete url to the server directory you set up previously using the WebDAV instructions. For example, if you set up a directory on the server called 'calendars' and the URL of the server is www.example.com you would put in 'Base URL: http://www.example.com/calendars'.
Now enter the 'Login' name and 'Password' for an account that has access to the shared directory as you've set it up using the WebDAV instructions.
Select the other options you want to enable in the dialog box and then click on 'Publish'. Now the calendar is published and available for others to subscribe to.
Now to subscribe to the calendar, just select 'Subscribe' under the 'Calendar' menu in iCal and enter the URL for the calendar. Using the example from above you would enter 'webcal://www.example.com/calendars/StudioWork.ics' for a calendar that was named 'StudioWork'.
You can also email the URL for the published calendar by selecting it in iCal and selecting 'Send Publish Email...' under the 'Calendar' menu in iCal.

    hi,Guys
Where can I find the document about weblogic 5.1,6.1 , 7.0 and 8.1
server performace matrix? currently we want to update our system from
5.1 to the most recent WLS, everyone know WLS 8.1 is running faster than
5.1, who can tell me how faster it can be based on very generically way.
    thanks,
    Roy

Where can I find the document about weblogic 5.1,6.1 , 7.0 and 8.1
server performace matrix?Roy asks a great question - and I've been searching Weblogic site for the info
    myself.
From a management perspective, it takes time and money to upgrade to the latest
    WLS.
I need to put together a business case for management illustrating a Cost/Benefits
    analysis.
If I can point to sources were people upgraded from 5.1/1.3.1 to 8.0/1.3.1 and
achived an XX% increase; then I can relate that to the cost of upgrading hardware/etc
    - and better decide where to spend the money.
If anybody has the numbers or experience - I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks

  • MDB Publish to Topic/Queue

Does anyone know if its "bad practice" to have an MDB publish to a Topic or Queue.
Say I have FooMDB listening on Topic1 and I want FooMDB to publish to Topic2 if "somethign happens" or just finish the onMessage if "something else happens". That way when Topic2 recieves the message Foo2MDB receives the message and does its thing.
I have this working but I can't find anything that says I shouldn't do this .... Any thoughts??
    Thanks

    Hi,
did you try a manual acknowledge? Something like
    public void onMessage(Message msg) {
       try {
          msg.acknowledge();
       } catch (JMSException e) {
          // handle it
}When you create a new QueueSession, you have to set it to
Session.CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGEIn your case, JMS waits until the complete transaction (even with the
decision what to do, the forward and so on) are done successfully. With
CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE you tell JMS you got the message and will
    take care of the rest.

  • Publish a Topic to RoboEngine

I have an HTML project that was created by a co-worker. To
take advantage of the RoboEngine Search, I need to publish the
project to the RoboEngine with all my other HTML projects (6). I do
not want his project name to show up in the left navigation pane
(TOC) after RoboEngine concatenates the projects to make them look
    like one intranet site.
I checked Peter's website and found the syntax:
    X:/helpfolder/startpage.htm#path/target_topic_1.htm.
I'm not sure if this syntax is a solution to my question and
I'm not exactly sure how to interpret the snytax. Any advise would
    be appreciated. Thxs.

    Hi, Mooresville,
Like Colum, I'm a little fuzzy on exactly what your goal is
but let me just throw this in.
Perhaps you are publishing your co-worker's project just to
get the benefits of RoboEngine (feedback reports, etc.)? However,
lets say you don't necessarily want that project(s) to show up or
be included in search results commingled with your other (6)
    projects?
You didn't mention which version of RoboEngine (now called
RoboHelp Server 6 or 7). Here's an alternative. You could publish
the co-worker's project to a separate domain address (on the same
physical server) so that it has a life of its own and still gets
the benefits of RoboEngine (RH Server).
Beginning with RoboHelp Server 6 and now 7, Adobe created a
more liberal licensing policy. In the old Macromedia or eHelp days,
you had to have a license for each domain (IP address) where you
kept a project. A lot of authors were forced with this expensive
option because they needed to be able to get feedback reports on
one project(s) that were not mixed in with other projects.
Fortunately that is no longer necessary and you can have
separate domains set up with only one license making it much more
    affordable.
I have some other options that might involve merged WebHelp
Pro but will await your reponse to Peter's, Colum's and my
    questions first.
    Thanx,
    john

  • UPK 11.0 publishing a topic error

    UPK 11.0
I am trying to preview a topic in the developer, in See It1, andI get an error 'Converting audio to flash format failed.' It does not produce the play.exe, nor the Presentatiion. I also get a player error 'General Exception occured.'
Can anyone give me some idea where to locate the problem in this topic. I have over 200 frames in the topic. All with audio recorded.
    Help!!!!
    Karen

11.0 is funny with the LMS. You have to unzip the file to your LMS server then import only the 1.2 .xml manifest file not the entire zip file. It will then import into the LMS. you will need to add the start page prefix which would be your server path and rename the files after import because it gives it a long weird name.
