WebLogic 7.0 and 5.1 integration
Hello,
Has any one integrated their applicaiton between different versions of Web Logic
Server? We want to integrate an application deployed on WLS 7.0.2 (i.e with sp2)
with another application on WLS 5.1. WLS 7.0.2 complies to EJB 2.0 spec while
WLS 5.1 complies to EJB 1.1 spec. I basically want to know if anybody did, then
what kind of issues did they run into?
Thanks,
Rahul
I don't think this is possible for 5.1 to 6 or 7 as the RMI implementations
are different. Suggest you either find a 5.1-friendly SOAP version that
might interwork or try IIOP with CORBA stubs.
cheers

Forms server and bipublisher server integration.
hello everyone,
Please i need to know whether it is possible to configure a managed server for bi publisher with an admin weblogic server server meant for forms eg (ofm pfrd weblogic server)
i am trying to integrated forms and bi publisher (all of 11g fusion middleware) together and i am confused on how to go about it.
thanks in anticipation
AbdurRahman.Hi AbdurRahman,
The only way to install Oracle Forms 11g, is to use it's own Fusion Middleware Installer - which generates a "standalone" WebLogic server pre-configured for Oracle forms (and Reports if desired). And there is no way to transfer the Forms Servlet apps to another Basic/Vanilla WebLogic domain.
To install forms, you'll need to download the installer to create the Form's ORACLE_HOME. Then use the Configuration Wizard ($ORACLE_HOME/bin/config.bat/sh) to create the WebLogic Domain and Servers. You can find the installers here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html
Forms Installation Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E38115_01/doc.111210/e23960/overview.htm
A similar process must be followed for BI Publisher, where you download the necessary Binaries then configure a WebLogic Server based on those binaries.
BI Publisher Installation Guides: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10539/toc.htm# and http://www.in-oracle.com/Oracle-DataWarehouse-BI/Oracle-Business-Intelligence/OBIEE/BI-Publisher-11g-installation-linux.php
As far as integration is concerned, you can still integrate, regardless of whether BI Publisher and Forms run on the same WebLogic Domain or not. So I wouldn't worry there. If you need help, feel free to check out my link below.
Hope this helps!
Thank you,
Gavin

Weblogic 4.5 and Visual Cafe 3.1
Hi,
I am having a problem integrating Visual Cafe with Weblogic.
Specifically, it involves getting the Weblogic classpath modified to support
setting up a connection pool to an Informix database. If I start the
Weblogic server manually, I can set the server classpath appropriately to
find the Informix JDBC driver and my pool is setup properly.
However with VC, it starts the Weblogic server from the IDE and I have
not been able to get the addition classpath entries to find the Informix
driver. Is there a way to add additional classpath entries so that when VC
starts Weblogic it will find my JDBC driver? Or do I have to start the
Weblogic server seperately and setup remote debugging manually?
Thanks
CarlYes, I am using the symantec debug VM. This is the batch file I use to start WL.
echo %CLASSPATH%
set
CLASSPATH=.;c:\VisualCafe\JAVA\LIB;c:\VisualCafe\JAVA\LIB\SYMCLASS.ZIP;c:\VisualCafe\JAVA\LIB\CLASSES.ZIP;c:\VisualCafe\bin\components\sfc.jar;c:\weblogic\license;%CLASSPATH%
set PATH=c:\winnt\system32;c:\winnt;c:\VisualCafe\Java\bin;c:\weblogic\bin
set
JAVACLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;.\classes\boot;.\eval\cloudscape\lib\cloudscape.jar
set
WEBLOGICCLASSPATH=.\classes;.\license;.\lib\weblogicaux.jar;c:\code\VisualCafe\Version1
rem java -ms32m -mx32m -classpath %JAVACLASSPATH%
-Dweblogic.class.path=%WEBLOGICCLASSPATH% -Djava.security.manager
-Djava.security.policy==weblogic.policy weblogic.Server
c:\VisualCafe\java\bin\debugvm -ms32m -mx32m -classpath %JAVACLASSPATH%
-Dweblogic.class.path=%WEBLOGICCLASSPATH% -Djava.security.manager
-Djava.security.policy==weblogic.policy weblogic.Server
If you don'y use the symantec debug VM, it stands to reason that the debug
environment will not see your process in the VM. I can't help you with why your
WL crashes when you connect using the debug VM. Perhaps you could post some more
information?

You said that you can attach from VC 3.1 to weblogic server 4.5.1 right. How
did you start the server ? Is it using the symantic debugvm.exe and symantic
settings? If I start the server with javasoft java.exe then VC is not seeing
the vm at all. And I tried starting weblogic server using symantic
debugvm.exe, as soon as a client trying to connect then the server crashes.
Please post the some instruction how did you do that?

The latter has been successful with me. I start the WL server manually viaa

Weblogic 8.1 and Eclipse using Weblogic Server Tools
I am working on a project that has been developed with Weblogic 8.1 without integration into an IDE (Eclipse, etc.) We are trying to convert the source tree to a form usable within Eclipse using Weblogic Server Tools. We want to make deployment on developer workstations quicker and easier and provide for server side debugging. There is not much documentation on how to do this that I have been able to find. I have just finished reading the details of the split directory strucuture in the Weblogic documentation and understand that Server Tools uses the split directory concept. My question is basically how we create the project in Eclipse (with Server Tools plug-ins) initially. Is anyone out there still using Weblogic 8.1 and Eclipse 3.3 (Europa) using Weblogic Server Tools that can help?
There isn't much in a way of documentation that's explicit to WebLogic Server Tools, but a lot of Workshop 10.2 documentation applies. Basically, you will want to create Dynamic Web Projects to house your code. On the first page of Dynamic Web Project wizard, you will get a chance to define and target a server (WLS 8.1 in your case). That will configure your project classpath for WLS 8.1 and get everything else squared away.
Note that there is only very basic support for 8.1. In particular, the split-directory concept is not supported, but deployment is taken care of for you behind the scenes, so the details shouldn't matter that much. -
Weblogic 7.0 and Sun's sdk 1.4.1_01
I'm involved in a project which is composed of Weblogic application server
and later a rich Java client (Swing).
I dislike having a lot of Java sdk(s) on multiple places in my computer and
I wish to use the Java most recent version.
My questions are:
- Is Java sdk 1.4 supported on Weblogic 7?
- If not, do you have any experience/problems with it?
- In the worst case, I won't upgrade to the most recent Java version on the
server side.
What implications, if any, does this have on the rich client?
Should I use for client side development the same Java version as Weblogic
does or can I get by with 1.4?Why do you recommend 1.3.1_06, not 1.3.1_07? I just tried _07 (on WinXP) and I'm
not sure but I think the error I'm getting now about "libmuxer not found" didn't
happen with _06. Is that a known problem?

Java SDK 1.4 has NOT been certified with any BEA product yet. The plans

first one to be the Olympic release, probably to be called WLS 8.1, due
this Summer.
AFAIK, the biggest problems have been in the integration of Security

I do not know all the nitty-gritty details. The latest JDK I would
use is 1.3.1_06.
I have no further guidance on other related topics.

Debit and credit note - integration between mm & sd with fi
Hi,
How does the information flow from MM & SD to FI in the process of raising a DEBIT and CREDIT NOTES' respectively?
(I'm aware of the fact that we need to define the document types "KG" and "DG" and raise the aforementioned by using F-41 & F-27).
However, my doubts are:
1. At what point do we need an FI-MM and FI-SD integration in raising the debit and credit notes'.
2. What is the role of an MM and SD end user along with FI end user in raising the DEBIT AND CREDIT notes, i.e., how do we deal with the inventory in MM in the process of PURCHASE RETURNS and the goods and value of goods sold as far as SALES RETURNS IS concerned, i.e., once purchase returns and sales returns are booked in the relevant deparments, at what point does an accounts executive or FI end user come into picture to raise the aforementioned.

ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3
Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?
Best regards,
StevenHi Abhishek,
This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.
Thanks in advance.

CF8 on Weblogic 10.0 and Apache
I am trying to configure CF8 as an EAR file on Weblogic 10.0
and configuring it with Apache webserver. The settings for Weblogic
are made as mentioned in the configuration document and CF8 is
working fine on Weblogic.
Now for Apache connectivity, a connector is configured for
Weblogic which handles *.cfm files requests as well.
- The CFM files are kept in webserver and when I try to open
a cfm file, the proxy is getting invoked but since Weblogic doesn't
find the file URI it returns 404.
- Please let me know how can the CFM files kept on Webserver
be rendered using CF8 deployed on Weblogic
Or there is a need for these files to be kept on the Weblogic
Appserver onlysam_cf09 wrote:
> Can the CFM files be a part of any WAR file deployed on

> fusion will take care of rendering them
Sure. If you want to put a file example.cfm in a WAR file,
put it in the
root of the WAR. Your folder structure will look something
like:
WAR/
WAR/example.cfm
WAR/WEB-INF
WAR/WEB-INF/web.xml
WAR/WEB-INF/*
WAR/WEB-INF/cfusion
WAR/WEB-INF/cfusion/lib/
etc.
Then if you have a context root "/test" in your
Application.xml you can
reach your template through the URL
http://server/test/example.cfm
The best way to get a WAR (or EAR) file for deployment is to
run the
installer. It has the option to generate a WAR or EAR for
you. Use that,
then later unjar it to see how it looks internally.

Dynamic actions and PA-PD integration a problem
Are you aware of an update problem with MSS and PA-PD integration? This information was made available in a presentation to us last year. Was this issue resolved in mySAP ERP 2004?
Dynamic actions and PA-PD integration a problem
Dynamic actions and PA-PD integration are not
processed on updates made from the web (but in the
background through a batch or call transaction session)
Thats why most standard PCRs require HR to process
the transaction using the SAP GUI in the foreground
This normally affects changes to infotypes 0000 &
0001
Then the next slide states:
Workaround for dynamic actions
Review dynamic actions in table T588Z (use SE16 to
display) and document the infotypes and values that
trigger dynamic actions
Incorporate those infotypes into your background
processing and web forms (if necessary)
Workaround for PA-PD integration
Include the integration steps for these infotypes in your
background processing (just as in conversions)Hi John,
Not sure if it is fixed.. or can be fixed.. we are still in 47 & Use custom code to account for Dynamic Actions.. the PCR processes use the function module HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA to update the infotypes. This function mimics a BDC & hence cannot handle Dynamic Actions... Basically, the issue is not with MSS but it is the way Dynamic Actions work.. to quote SAP "Dynamic actions are not correctly processed in batch input sessions since in batch input the sequence of the screens needs to be predefined correctly. To be able to process dynamic actions in batch input, the checks of the dynamic actions need to be programmed when creating the batch input session. To avoid errors when programming and running the session, the static actions only are processed in batch input. Calls of infotypes that are triggered by dynamic actions should be realized by separate Transaction calls.
Please take a look at OSS Note #386027 for additional info about Dynamic Actions.
