Weird Menu Glitch in Mail

When I right click in Mail, I get a weird glitch in the menu that comes up. The first line is blank. I can't click it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it's just me.
Here's an example.

I can't help you, but I join you with the same problem ....
Mail downloaded from some time in the past ...
But only for sent folder. In .mac my sent folder actually orders the mails strangely too as opposed to my trash folder that in both the iphone and .mac are ordered properly.
Anyone any help?

I received my new Verizon Edge bill in the mail and it is $80 higher than my old plan.  I have been so unhappy with this change over.  Went through hell getting our second phone activated because of a weird computer glitch and when we asked if we would receive any consideration for the time, travel, and money we put into getting the phones the way they were supposed to be, we were told to wait until the bill came and then they could make adjustments.  Now I have the bill and have no idea "who" the we would be that could make adjustments.  To top it off, the only way I know my account will get any attention is to post this in chat.  I am so disappointed and will be counting the months until our phones are paid off and we can change companies.

I just purchased a new device using Verizon Edge. Why does my bill look higher than normal?
There’s two reasons why your first bill after signing up for Edge might be higher than normal:
Prorate Charges – If you upgraded an existing line and did a price plan change, you may have price plan charges and credits that went into effect the day you upgraded.
Sales Tax – Most states require sales tax on the full retail price paid by the customer, which in most instances will be charged at the time of the first invoice.
Note: Customers who purchased devices in AL, AZ, CO, IL, NM, ND or SD will be billed taxes and surcharges monthly as payments are made.
    Your bill will normally include:
    Your last Edge installment payment
    The next Edge installment charge
If you are on a MORE Everything Plan, a monthly access discount for each qualifying line.
The details of Edge installments and discounts can be viewed at the line level portion of your bill under Monthly Charges and Equipment Charges, or in My Verizon, My Bill then Charges By Line.

  • Context Menu "Send To" mail text

    Hi,
I am trying to explore the options available with in context menu -> send to mail option inside km document explorer view. The requirement is to change the text displayed in the form which is opened when users selects context menu -> send to option in KM document explorer.
Currently by default in mail body it shows the document link only. I am looking for changing the link to full path where the document is lying for ease of identification for users.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

It doesn't work, I think I'll stay at "drag & drop".
Thank you for your help Joe.

  • Weird menubar glitch

I'm having a weird menubar glitch sometimes when changing from one app to another. Both menus from two different apps show at the same time at the menubar. The only way to restore the expected state is to use command+tab when it happens. =/
    Here's a screencap of the bug: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15865634/Glitch.jpg
Does anyone know a solution to this? =/
    (I'm on 10.6.6)

*What kind of MAC you are using?*
    A macbook white, late 2009
*Did you try a simple reboot?*
Yes, I reboot every day or so
    *Did you try repair permissions?*
More than one time, and haven't solved the issue =/
*What did you do BEFORE this started ... adding a Application or what?*
Last thing I remember was the installation of an app called Alfred, but I did ended its service, and the issue persist.
*Did you try to RESET the PRAM?*
This one I did not try, how can I do it?
*Did you try to download the OSX 10.6.6 Combo Update?*
Didn't either, should I try to reset the pram first?
    Thanks for the reply =)

  • HT6030 where is menu bar for mail in OSX maverick?

The menu bar on Mail is missing. I am using Maverick

The Menu Bar is at the top of your screen, as it is for all applications.
You need to click in Mail (so it has focus) to see Mail's menu bar.

  • How to edit drop-down contacts menu in apple mail?

I would appreciate if someone could tell me where I can edit the drop-down contacts menu in apple mail? I'm talking about which email address suggestions appear when you start to type a name of a contact. I've done it in the past but have unfortunately forgotten where to access this list.

If you are asking about addresses that are not in your Address Book, they are listed in Windows > Previous Recipients.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Post the contents of that window, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}' | open -f -a TextEdit
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}' | open -f -a TextEdit
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null | open -f -a TextEdit
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null | open -f -a TextEdit
Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • New Glitch with mail app setup in "Other" tab after update 5.0.1

Just for the record everyone. After the update to 5.0.1 If you have enabled iCloud on setup after you did a restore and erase-- if you had update problems as I did with my wife's iPhone-- the setup for mail is different. When you try to resetup your old email account in the mail app under the "other" tab it defaults to IMAP only --you do NOT get a choice to choose IMAP or POP after the first setup screen. Why? Lord only knows. Well, I called apple tech support and they were of no help at all and essentially shrugged their collective shoulders.         You will all be happy to know that I have solved this problem on my own and I think it bears repeating to all of you, as I am sure others have come upon this problem as well. The solution appears to be to turn off iCloud and delete the iCloud account (keep the data on your phone of course) in settings and then turn off push notifications. Then restart your phone. You may have to restart twice. Then try setting up your mail account under "other". Then when you have filled out the first setup acct screen and go to the next screen. Volia!  You should then see the option on the next setup screen to choose IMAP or POP. You can then input the settings as per your POP account as specified by your carrier. One note however, the verify process may take up to a minute or more--very slow for some reason when setting up as a POP acct. Anyway, I thought this was weird because under 5.0-- I would get the option after first email setup screen to choose HTTP, IMAP or POP??           My theory is that somehow IMAP gets defaulted as the only choice because iCloud operates that way if enabled etc. You can then turn iCloud back on as well as resetup acct-- as well as push notifications and your POP email acct should still continue to work as configured. I think this is a definite glitch or bug with the update to 5.0.1? I knew that POP was still supported since my iPhone did not need to be reset or erased after the update to 5.0.1 and my POP acct was still there working as configured but if I tried to add another POP acct under "Other" it would also only default straight to IMAP after setup screen. Very weird Bug to say the least.             I hope that helps some of you out there. I have reported this bug to Apple officially.  My setup is an iPhone 4S as is my wife's with ios 5.0.1

  • Weird "favorites" glitch in iOS 4.2.1

Weird iOS 4.2 glitch: any people in favorites list below 5th person dial the number above it. 5th number down results in black screen. Try it!
I restarted my iPhone to see if it would fix... Nope!
    Weird!?

Guys, I have this glitch too. It's very annoying! I first noticed that right after I updated to 4.2.1, I was missing an e-mail contact from my favorites list which was my girlfriend's e-mail she uses with her iPod for facetime connections.
The contact that was after her e-mail was shifted up. When I choose that conact, the screen goes black, then the subsequent contacts contact the prior contact on the list. I tried a restart. No go. I even restored my phone. No luck. I deleted all my favorites. Now, with the favorites list being empty, when I add a contact to my favorites list, it switches the contact name to the e-mail address that had disappeared from the list. Any subsequent contact I add, contacts the earlier one. Except for the first one, which just goes to a black screen. I deleted the contact from my contacts list with the e-mail to see what would happen.
I cleared my favorites list again. I then added someone to my favorites list. The name switched to the e-mail address. When I select the little blue arrow on the right, it points to the contact before her on the contact list.
There seems to be a stuck value in the phone with an erroneous memory pointer.

  • Weird Gmail behavior in Mail

I have an e-mail account hosted by my IP and they farm out e-mail to Google Gmail rather than handling it themselves. It appears that I can receive e-mails from everyone else accept from accounts I have hosted by another IP service (with one exceptoin which I'll note shortly). I discovered this when I sent my wife a file to edit and she sent it back — but it was never received. The URL being hosted by the IP that farms e-mail out to Gmail originated from another IP and was transferred.
By way of example, here's what works sending mail to [email protected] (this is the account hosted by the IP service that farms e-mail out to Gmail)
    [email protected] > [email protected]
    [email protected] > [email protected]
    [email protected] > [email protected]
However, nothing from any other accounts hosted by my other IP service (from which I originally purchased the myURL.com which is acting flakey) is ever received by [email protected]
    [email protected] > [email protected]
I've checked all of the Gmail settings in the troubled address ([email protected]) and they are the same as my directly Gmail hosted address ([email protected]).
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions — they would be appreciated because I'm slowly going insane trying to figure this one out.

I don't know for sure this is what will work, but set up separate SMTP servers for each Gmail account, using your specific logins for each.
On the Account page in Preferences, Account Information, select Edit SMTP Server List from the Outgoing mail Server (smtp) popup menu.
Copy the current one for Gmail and edit it to use the necessary login information.
For each account, select the desired smtp server and set the checkbox to only use that server.
When you reply or compose a new message, make sure From indicates the correct account.

  • I'm in need of a menu bar new mail notifier...

Is there anything out there like GMail Notifier that will put an icon in the menu bar telling me that I have new mail? I need to have other windows covering the screen, can't always hear new mail alerts, and don't want to have my dock showing all the time. Just a little status icon in the menu bar showing maybe Online status, transferring, and unread messages. Anybody know of such a thing?

  • Image size pop up menu missing in mail 6.2 (1499) window

I had this problem and it was related to a Mail plugin (Daylite DMA).

  • Glitch getting Mail to access my .Mac account

Yesterday after I had had my powerbook on for a while, after Mail had opened on startup and automatically checked for and retrieved mail for my .mac account and a second separate account, Mail suddenly began asking me to log on. This was maybe about an hour after I'd started working. I'd been turned away from my screen for a while and when I jiggled my mouse to bring the screen on again (it was not sleeping, but the screen is set to go dark after a few minutes), there was this dialog box asking me to log on. (The second, non-.mac email account is functioning normally.)
I tried doing so but the system would not accept my password (even after trying several versions of that password). So now it's the next day and this problem hasn't solved itself... On a different machine at home last night I checked and Mail and my .mac account was functioning normally.
Here at work again I can log on to .mac and see my mail via Safari--so the problem is not that I've mis-remembered my password. The problem seems to be with Mail on this particular machine, rather than with .mac.
I've looked at Mail's preferences/accounts and everything seems to be set properly. Both email accounts are enabled and all the settings appear to be as they should be. Nothing corrupted-looking that I can see in those details.
But no more dialogs this morning about needing to log on to .mac, and that account in my Inbox is greyed out and there is an alert sign to the right of it--a circle with a squiggle in it (looks like a tilde).
Mail DOES allow mail to be sent via either account. I can use Mail to compose and successfully send test messages by selecting the .mac mail account (from the popup menu) to my second non.mac account, and use Mail to receive/read it. I can send email from this second account to my .mac account and receive the message--but only by logging on to .mac via Safari. Mail won't show it to me (as it had been doing so nicely and unproblematically for so long). As I said, the problem seems to be with Mail on this particular machine, rather than with .mac.
    Suggestions?
three G4 pwrbooks and an iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

But no more dialogs this morning about needing to log on to .mac,
and that account in my Inbox is greyed out and there is an alert sign
to the right of it--a circle with a squiggle in it (looks like a tilde).
This indicates the account has been taken offline which occurs when the account cannot connect to the incoming mail server for whatever reason.
At the Mail.app menu bar, go to Mailbox > Online Status > Take your .Mac named account online.
If this causes the same prompt to manually enter the account's password, decline and quit Mail and then try running Keychain First Aid on your login Keychain via Keychain Access.

  • Weird problem-w/ aol mail,i can recieve and reply, but can not send new mail

everything is set up, i read the instructions on that site to help me set it up, im recieving mail, and i can even reply, but when i try to send new mail it rejects the smtp. outgoing mail server...any suggestions?

Does resetting include deleting and recreating the AOL SMTP server?
Deleting an SMTP server requires selecting Edit Server List from the SMTP server selection pop-up menu.
ISP is short for Internet Service Provider. Are you using AOL as your ISP for connecting to the internet?
Unless AOL is used as your ISP, your ISP may have made recent changes regarding the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network. Most, if not all ISPs have restrictions regarding the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25. Using Port 587 usually resolves any such restrictions but some ISPs block the use of all SMTP servers outside of their network regardless. These restriction are in place as part of an overall effort to prevent or reduce spam eminating from the ISP's domain.
Since you have switched back and forth between every option available, I suggest deleting and recreating AOL's SMTP server first (if you haven't already done so) and if this didn't work, deleting and recreating this AOL account in Mail.
If neither works and AOL is not your ISP used for connecting to the internet and you are accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP, try selecting/using your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your AOL account.
If this works, I would contact your ISP's technical support to inquire about any recent changes implemented regarding the use of SMTP servers outside of their network or put in another way, using an SMTP server that is not provided by your ISP.
The last resort is targeting the Mail.app preference file which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences.
I try to avoid saying never in regards to computers but I doubt your hard drive replacement has anything to do with this.
