What is a missing part ?

Hi ,
I am new to material management . As i go through Inventory management i came across Missing part check . But i dont know what is a missing part . Through previous forum posting and help docs . i am not able to under stand Missing part . So i request you to help me in understanding the concept .
with regards,
M.Sreeram .

Dear Sreeram,
1.In my understanding Missing parts list is related to a production order in the case of Discrete manufacturing and Planned
order in the case of REM scenario.
2.Before releasing a production order generally a component availability check will be performed and if there is any deficit of
component at that particular storage location level depending upon the settings.
3.T code CO24 is used for finding out the missing parts list.
4. You can use the missing parts information system to display the missing parts list for a selection of materials, or for all
materials. You can also restrict your selection of missing parts according to a specific plant, MRP controller or requirements
date.
5. In the missing parts overview you can
edit missing parts data (for example, by changing the requirements quantity or issue storage location)
check the availability of individual components
filter / sort components
The missing parts overview always displays the results of the last availability check carried out in the order, regardless of
whether you have since exited the order.
6.In the missing parts list you can
display the missing parts of all orders which have been checked (for collective orders)
check the availability of individual components
filter / sort components
print the missing parts
vary the field selection
The missing parts list is not saved if you exit order processing.

  • Missing Parts in Process Order

    Hi Gurus,
I was created process order, in that some materials are shortage, System showing what are the missing parts.
it is also not allowing to release.
But, it is allowing to save without release.
My problem is System should not allow to save, if there is missing parts.
    How to restrict this.
Can anybody help me in this.

    Hi Anand,
Check the customization of "scope of check" in the availability check section. Availability check may take into consideration not only unrestricted stock.
    Transaction OPJJ.
Pay attention to the resolution of this definition - checking group from material master and checking rule from your activity.
    Thanks and reagards

  • What is missing part check in inventory

    Hi Experts,
I want to know what is missing part check in inventory ?
    Thanks !

    Hi Dipika,
A missing part is a stock of material that is already assigned to a goods issue at the time of goods receipt. This means that a current requirement could not be covered from existing stock(shortage or requirement undercoverage situation). As a rule, such a missing part bypasses the warehouse and ,upon receipt ,is forwarded directly to the point at which it is needed. However, this is only possible if the entered and the responsible materials planner are informed of such receipt.
You must make following settings in customizing for <b><i>Inventory management and physical inventory under Goods Receipt>Set Missing Parts Check</i></b>
1)<b>Activation of missing part check per plant</b>
    2)<b>Definition of a checking rule</b>
3)<b>Specification of the details for control of the availability check</b>:To use the missing part check, you must enter a checking horizon for the missing part check. The checking horizon indcates for how many days in the future the system checks whether shortfall quantities exist for the material.Within the checking horizon,an email is sent from inventory management informing the materials planner that there has been a goods receipt for a missing part.
4)<b>Assignment of checking rule:</b>At transaction level, the missing part check uses the same checking rules as the availability check. However, you have the option of maintaining different checking rules at movement type level. The checking rule of the movement type takes precedence over that of the transaction.Note that an entry for the movement type without an entry for the transaction has no effect.
5)<b>Specification of the mail receipient(Email user):</b>The system sends the missing part message to materials planner(MRP Controller) responsible for the material. In order for this to happen,a user ID must be assigned to the materials planner
6)<b>Specifications of missing part expediter</b>:If no user ID assigned to the responsible materials planner, the message is ent to the central missing part expediter responsible for the plant. This person is defined per plant.

  • HT203200 I recently bought an album on iTunes. 10 of the songs came out corrupt and songs missing parts. What can I do?

I recently bought an album on iTunes. 10 of the songs came out corrupt and songs missing parts. What can I do?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over the last few days, I assume that there has been (and possibly still is) a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting them from your iTunes library and redownl them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • Standard Report for missing parts at production order operation level?

    Hi PP Gurus,
We have standard report for missing parts at production orders level.
For our client, they need a report for missing parts analysis at production order operation level. Do we have any such standard report in the SAP?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Reddy.

    Hi Arvind,
          Thanks for for your response.
    1. List: Components,  Layout: Standard layout          set the Missing part
It shows the component requirement/withdrawn  quantity for each operation of production order. It is not showing the commit quantity.
    2. List: Components,  Layout: Pick list          set the Missing part
It shows the component requirement/withdrawn  quantity for each production order.
    3. List: Components,  Layout: Missing Parts List-Material View          set the Missing part
It shows the component requirement/commit quantity for each production order. It is not showing the commit quantity at opertion level.
    4. List: Components,  Layout: Missing Parts List-Order View          set the Missing part
It shows the component requirement/commit quantity for each production order. It is not showing the commit quantity at opertion level.
We are unable to get the solution from all these 1 to 4 reports from COOIS.
Do we have any option to change the existing layout (ex: 3 ) to get the commit quantity for operation with missing parts indicator?
If avilable, what is the procedure to be followed?
    Thanks,
    Reddy.

  • Missing part message in MIGO

    Hello,
we have activated the missing part message in MIGO using transaction OMBC.
All is working fine and we receive an notification in business workplace.
The problem is that only one person receives the mail and we want that all MRP controllers get an notification.
In transaction OMBC under "Mail user" we can only maintain one "Recipient Name".
But what is the meaning of "Recipient for mail to MRP controller"? Can we here use position to maintain all controolers in the organization model of the PD (PD-ORG)?
    Thanks
    Arnfried

    Hi There
Specification of the mail recipient- System sends the missing part message to the material planner(MRP Controller) responsible for the material,, in order for this to happen , a user ID must be assigned to the material planner,,
Specification of missing part expediter- if no user ID is assigned to the responsible material planner, the message is sent to the central missing part expediter responsible for the plant. This person is defined per plant,,
So this is what happening in your place,,  maintain the user ID to the MRP controller,, then it will work fine,,
    Maintain the below settings--
SPRO-IMG-Materials Management-Consumption-Based Planning-Master Data-Define MRP Controllers-Double click on MRP controllers-Maintain the field Recipient Name (User ID) then system will trigger the mail to MRP controllers...
    Hope it helps
    Thanks

  • CO27 - Missing part indicator (Urgent)

    Hi All,
In CO27, i find for a few materials, the missing part indicator has been ticked, while for a few materials it is not. I would like to know how is this indicator being set by the system. Because for the parts which i do not seen the indicator ticked, are not available at the moment in stock & hence i believe this indicator should be ticked. Kindly let me know where all i should check.
    Vivek

    Dear Vivek
    1st question
If no ava check  is not ticked and status check is ticked.
System will check availability of material when released and saved. Then after this if the MAT not available  status NMAT you can see in the header. Once it is register, system will check the availability every time you saved till you will get the status with out NMAT. In case NMAT is not there during release and after that there was some problem with the material stock and let us say stock is reduced, then actually material is not available, but in production order Since NAMT is not there system will not check the material availability.
In your case since you are checking the ava in background , if you want the system to check all orders with or without NMAT then don’t tick-status check.
In this case system load will increase as system has to check all the orders.
2.Please do not mistake this tick. This is applicable for HALB material, and not for Raw material.
If you have HALB material and it is having stock of 10, production orders for this halb material lets say 2 prod orders released (qty 10 each) and 3 are not released(qty 10 each).
    Then ava qty will be
I leave Production orders field blank = 10
(ii) when i consider only released production orders = 10+10*2=30
    (iii) when i consider all production orders = 1010*210*3 = 60
If you are taking raw material, this tick has not relevant
    your 3rd question -
Ava check if material consists of 2 things
checking rule - defined for a transaction - PP for production order, A is for sales order, B is for delivery etc.
Checking group - what you define in material master 01/02/CH.
Combination of above checking rule and checking group will fix the scope of check.
Hence in OPJJ, you need to give checking rule and checking group both.
as per understanding 01 will not change to 02 as in that plant 01 is fixed if it is in material master.
    Please come back if required
If you want I will send you the preliminary document to understand what is AVA check if required.

  • "missing part list" releasing process order, but the material there is

    Hi dears,
    I’ve a strange problem.
When i’m going to release a process order, the system give me a “missing part list”.
The strange is the material indicated  in that list, a component of a phantom, is present in state free in the st. location indicate.
Does anybody know what can be the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Juan

    Hi all,
the problem was that the material was present in quantity lower than safety stock.
For this reason, the system give me that advice.
    however thanks for the help.
    Best regards,
    Juan

  • Raw materials with valuation category are appearing as a missing parts

    Hi All,
I am converting planned order to production order which is having ten raw materials. Some of them are having valuation category u2018Ru2019. All raw materials are in stock. While procuring raw materials which are having valuation category, we used valuation type u2018RM-OKu2019 so they are having stock with valuation type (RM-OK).
Raw materials which are having valuation category maintained are always coming as a missing part while converting planned order to production order though they are in stock.
So, pls do comment where I am doing mistake.

    Hi,
    1. I dont think that the Valuation class and the availability check has any relations ship.
    2. Also in your querry you are mentioning about valuation class and  valuation category .. what is this valuation category and where is it mentioned.
    3. Also check if all the stocks are posted in same storage location

  • Missing Parts check one level....can you confirm

Simple scenario.  I have a 3 level BOM.
Top level Item Mat A (make to order 82) > Mat X (make to stock strategy 40) > Component 1 (purchased).
Stock: There is only stock for the Component 1
When I create an order for Mat A I get a missing part for Mat X.  However, the committed date is giving me the Total replenishment lead time of my Mat X and not considering just the lead time to make Mat X even though we have Component 1 in stock. So my problem is that the ATP check is not considering that we have Component 1 in stock and should just give me a committed date for the in production time of Mat X.
Now I do understand that SAP PP may only look at the Zero stock for my Mat X when I create an Order for Mat A (Top level) - if this is why then fine but I wanted to check I am not missing something.
Moreover, if you make Mat X a collective (52) then it will see the stock for the component and give a reduced commitment date but my client does not want a collective order as they want to group the Make to stock items.
Yes if there was a planned order for Mat X then it would consider it.
My point is that am I right that pure ATP missing part will only consider one level in my example ?
    any help buddies ?

    007,
I don't know if I would call it a weakness.  It is what it is.  Its like spending the money for a Hyundai, and expecting the features of a Mercedes.  Not gonna happen.
The client gets as much as he is willing to pay for.  If he wants a multilevel availability check, then he must pay for the additional software that will perform this task (APO or third party), or he should commission a consulting company to write a custom application that performs this task within ERP.
All such decisions boil down to the client's willingness to spend money and resources.  Its nothing to get frustrated about.  After all, he is the one that made the decision to buy SAP ERP, not you.  If he is unhappy, he can contact Walldorf.

  • Missing parts and production storage location

Can the production storage location in the material master for a component on a BOM be set to blank to pull in all inventory in the plant when calculating missing parts in a production order? I am finding that the blank production storage location is NOT pulling in all inventory in all storage locations; I honestly think that is how it should work but would like to see what others think or have run into. Thank you very much!

    Hi Judith,
This can be done by system to carried out Avilability check plant level instead of storage location  level.  For that plz do the settings as suggested by our member.
Check the "No.Stor.Loc.Insp" in OPJJ for checking group and Checking rule combination and assign the same checking group to material at MRP view.
Donot Assign  storage location for components  in material Master and  BOM item.
    Please try anf comeback

  • IDOC for missing parts list

    Hi,
We would like to send the missing parts list generated from CO24 to other system. Is there any standard IDOC available to send missing parts?
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

    Karthik,
Thanks for your quick reply. But this is not what I am looking out for. I am sorry, I think my question was not clear.
There is one functionality in Production Planning area that we can find out the missing parts for the production order. We have to send the information to our warehouse asking for the missing parts to fulfill the production order. Our warehouse is not on SAP so we want to send the information through an ALE/IDOC. In order to do this I wanted to know that is there any standard IDOC type which can be used or we have to create a custom IDOC.
    Thanks.

  • Make-to-order production (assembly processing) - Missing Parts

    Hi Guys
During creating an assembly order, availability check comes up with missing parts.
Can someone tell me how to proceed from here? I checked the material master fro the missing part and in MRP2, procrement type = x.
What are my options, can i save this order even though i have missing parts? How do i carry on?
    Thanks
    Ahmad Yahya

    Hi,
relevant material master setting is in MRP3, availability check. If you would like to skip the check, set the indicator to KP - no check.

  • Missing part message with transaction MIGO

We want to use the warning message issued by the missing part functionality during GR. We are not interested in the e-mail configuration to the MRP controller. We added checking rule 03 to transactions MB01 and MIGO. We got the missing part message "Mat ######### is a missing part" while using MB01. However, we are not getting the message while receiving using MIGO.
Does anybody know what we are missing? We are planning to use MIGO for our receipts.
    Thanks and regards, Jose Oyon.

Go to tcode OMBC and maintain the Checking rule 03 for MIGO and MIGO_GR
than you will see in MIGO
you can make for movement type specific also.
