What is outer request?

What is outer request and where is it stored? Will the page flow variables be the part of outer qeuest?
Please give me a very meaningful reply. Thanks, I appreciate it.

OuterRequest is the normal HttpRequest , however portlets get a scoped request (presumably using HttpServletRequestWrapper) so that if say PortletA and PortletB are on the same page and porteltA has a pageflow which does request.setAttribute("msg","in A"); and portletB does request.setAttribute("msg","in B"); then each portlet will get to show its own message. if we directly used the standard request , we would get only one message since one would be overwritten as the key to setAttribute is the same.
Nope pageflow variables are part of the pageflow which as you have seen is stored in the session.

  • Timed Out Requests

I turned on performance monitoring on our CF server this
morning to hunt down a slowdown and noticed that the counter for
timed out requests is constantly sitting at 125 no matter what any
of the other counters do. Is this normal or is this an indication
    of something I can correct?

That is probably a good thing. Ideally you want requests to
complete and not timeout. You can create and run a test template.
If your timeout is for 30 seconds, create a template that runs 31
seconds. See the code below and increase the sleep argument as
needed. 31000 will cause the template to sleep 31 seconds. Does
    that increment your timeout counter?

  • What does transport request do?

I read ab to know out the 3 -system  landscape . Now I want a clear idea of what the transport request does. I also want to know how the configuration is transported between development and QAS or production client.

    Radhika,
    The Correction and Transport System
Changes created in the development system must somehow be moved, then incorporated into the test system, then subsequently moved and incorporated into the production system. The SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) serves this purpose and is the vehicle by which SAP moves objects such as programs, screens, configurations or security settings from one system to the next. Additionally, the CTS ensures consistency between systems by maintaining log entries for any attempted or completed activities. If used correctly, the CTS creates an effective and standardized procedure for managing and recording changes made to the system while providing an excellent mechanism for integrating either newly created objects or existing objects that have been altered to meet the customer’s needs.
Follow the link for some useful material on CTS

  • What is customizing request?

    what is customizing request?
    regards,
    phani.

    Hi Phani..
Customizing requests record client-specific Customizing settings made in a single client (the source client of the request).
Automatic recording of configuration activities in the Customizing work for a client can be activated or deactivated for each client with Client Control. If automatic recording is active, a query window appears when you change Customizing settings, asking you to specify a Customizing request.
Whether Customizing requests are transported or not, does not depend on the objects entered, as is the case with Workbench change requests. The Customizing requests in an SAP System (or in a client if you use Extended Transport Control) are either all transportable or all local, depending on the system setting. The system uses the standard transport layer to determine automatically whether the change requests are transportable and to which target system they should be transported. However, you can change this manually.
You can see good details on this thread:

  • What is spool request how to give it

    could anybody inform me
what is spool request how to give it
    thanx
    regards
    kals.

    Hi
When ever you run a job, system creates something called as a spool request.
You can have a list of all your spool requests in T.code SP01 and SP02.
The spool is usually identified by a number.
When you select a spool and select the display button it gives the output of the corresponding job.

  • What is a request

    hai all..
can any one explain me in detail, what is a request and what are the types of requests and what is the difference between a transport request and a customizing request and what is a workbench request...
    no URL's Please....
    will be rewarded if helpful
    Regards,
    Jhansi

    Hi Jhansi,
you can create 2 type s of requests
Workbench Request & - Used for Objects like programs ,domains etc
Customizing Request - used for data
But you can also create Transport of Copies to transfer data.
    Change Requests
Change requests are managed by the Transport Organizer. Changes to Repository and Customizing objects are recorded in change requests.
So that you can differentiate between global changes to the system and client-specific Customizing settings, the CTS records your changes in either a Workbench request or a Customizing request:
    Workbench Requests
When you change a Repository object of the ABAP Workbench, a query window appears in which you need to specify a Workbench request. You can only save the changes if you have assigned the object to a change request.
Workbench requests and the tasks assigned to them are normally used to record changes to Repository objects and Customizing for all clients. However, you can also include client-specific Customizing.
Whether the changes to Repository objects are transported depends on whether a transport route is defined from the current SAP System for the package of these objects. From the system settings, the system automatically determines whether the change requests are transportable and to which target system they should be transported.
    Customizing requests
However, you can change this manually.

    what is repair request?
    when actually we use this?

    Hi Ravi,
When you find some records missing when deltas are running then instead of going for re-init and again deltas you can go for repair full request giving selection conditions for those missing records, without affecting your delta laods.
    Hope it helps,

I can't afford an expensive microphone attachment, but I want higher quality to record my voice for eventual radio use. What's out there as far as inexpensive attachments that are easy to use? What can I do using my MacBook Pro?

Not sure what your idea of inexpensive is - have you searched for USB Microphones yet?  There are hundreds of choices under $100 compatible with Mac or Pc.  I'd be cautious and read reviews of the cheaper items as the built-in mic seems to be better than most $20-$30 ones.

  • Check-out button is not disable after the check out request from the same user

    HI all,
I want to use check out/ in procedure in solution manager along with email notification. For that, I have maintained required settings and maintenance project for the intended solution. I want to implement a team leader- manger hiearchy for any changes to the solution. When a team member requests for the check out for any process scenario/ step, the status goes to check out requested. But, the problem is, check-out button is not disable and same user can do the check out which I want to restrict. The check out can be done only by the project manger. I guess, this is related to authorization roles for both team member and manger. But I am not able to find out. Please help me to have the authorization roles for this.
    Thanks,
    Rutvik Upadhyay.

Why not putting a af:fileDownloadActionListener inside the command button. In the bean you need an method like
public void exportExcel(FacesContext aFacesContext, OutputStream aOutputStream)
} You can use the output stream and when you finished just flush it. Don't close the stream and don't complete the response.

  • Any direct method to see what my transport request contains ?

    Hi *,
    I have 2 doubts.
    1) I have a query already existing. Now I have created a web template of it. When I transport the query, is it that the web template automatically transports along with the query or we need to explicitly assign the request to web template ?
    2) Is there any direct method(table or program) to know what are the objects contained in a transport request. I have hundreds of queries categorised into various transport requests. Some also contain web templates, InfoObjects etc. In a single shot I want to know what a particular request contains.
If I use SE09 or SE10, the UIDs of the query elements are displayed which I need to put in the table RSZELTTXT and see the description. This is making our task cumbersome.
Please let me know if we have any direct method so that I can assign points to the useful answers.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    Hi Mr Kapadia,
Appreciate your prompt reply. I have assigned you points.
But one thing - here I can see all the UIDS in a single instance for the request, but if I need to know what that UUID refers to - a query , web template etc or what then it could have completely solved the issue.
If you can find any table which also contains the descriptions and waht type of object it is  do let me know.
Anyways, I guess this is a useful info for everyone.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

  • Custom Component : How to detect what charset the request used?

I want to write a file upload component, this component must use the same charset as the request used to decode file name from data post from web browser, How to detect what charset the request used?

    Hi Eddie,
As Arjit suggested, there are a bunch of functions available in WEBI like GetDominantPreferredViewingLocale(), GetLocale() and GetPreferredViewingLocale(), etc. that you could use.
There are no such specific functions provided within Dashboards tool.
So, you can create a WEBI report, and have one of these formulas specified in a variable in the webi report. Then, have the block published as a BIWS and use this BIWS in your dashboard.
