  • FTP over SSL connectivity in File Adapter

    Hi All,
I request your suggestion on my problem.  I have a scenario idoc to file where I am connecting to my vendor server throught SFTP (Ftp over SSL).  In this my vendor specifically told that to obtain secure FTP connectivity to their server they require a pre-approved Secure FTP client be used to access the service.
So as per this requirement first our XI server need to coneect to the pre-approved client and the connectivity will happen to the vender server.  He list the pre-approved client as below
    *Cleo Lexicom 2.1
*TrailBlazer ZMOD FTP Client V3R1 PTF Level PFT3100034
    *QualEDI for Windows, 32-bit version
    *Ascential DataStage TX, Release 7.5
*Future 3 - Advanced Communication Module Plus (ACM Plus)
*eBridge FTPS Communicator for GXS version 5.3
    *Ipswitch Inc's WS_FTP Professional version 8.02.
    ·Robo-FTP version 3.2
Please let me know will this be possible from our file adapter.  Currently as per this requirement we open up the port of XI server for SFTP connecvity but through this we can have host to host connection over SFTP and not sure whether we can connect to client software and from their to vendor sever.
Kindly needful your suggestion/solution on this.
    Regards,
    Dhill

    Hi,
Thank you,  Yes I have used FTPS only please find the below details given in the communication channel.
    <b>FTP Connection Parameters</b>
    Server: ServerName
Port : 6366 (specified by vendor)
    Data connection : Passive
    Timeout(secs) : 65
Connection Security: FTPS (FTP Using SSL/TLS) for Control and Data Connection
Command Order: AUTH TLS, USER, PASS, PBSZ, PROT
    Keystore: service_ssl
X-509 Certificate and Private Key: ssl-credentials
User Name : Vendor user name
    Password: Vendor given password
    Connect Mode: Permanantly
    Transfer Mode: Text
    Maximum Concurrency: 1
and also as per he list given by vendeor we can use *Ipswitch Inc's WS_FTP Professional version 8.02.
<b>Note:</b> We have Deploying the SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit and also CA certificate used to sign the server certificate added to the TrustedCAs keystore view.
So If possible i request you to kindly provide the details how we need to specify the client software between our XI server and Vender server as you mentioned in your solution.
Please let me know your mail id, i will forward the screenshot of my communication channel.
Kindly appreciate your help on this.

  • Sender File Adapter : File Name Determination

    Hi All,
    My Scenario :
    1) Im my scenario i need only the "FileName" of the File when picked up by the Sender File Adapter.
    2) Rest Content of the File need not be in the XML file format.
Now what i did was developed "File Adapter Module " to get the "FileName" when picked up by the Sender File Adapter.
Outcome : When i put the developed module at first and put the file in specified folder allowint the Sender file Adapter to pick up. Now Everything is fine working when one kind of File is placed as per my Content Coversion paramaters.
Actual : My Client would place file of any kind (.jpeg -> Mostly , gif ) i need to get only the file name in the Outbound interface , which i would split it further to my Target Interface.
How could i achieve this , when i took away this content conversion , in sxmb_moni it shows error.I need only the filename in the Outbound not the Content , moreover the hit is i donot know what could be content of my file as it could be different and varing , so i could not set particular content conversion paramters:
    Second Question:
Now my outbound XML interface looks as below when i test with a file , with proper content conversion paramerters:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <MT_DMS_FINAL>
    - <Record>
    - <Row>
      <FirstName>2323_eer_rtr</FirstName>
      </Row>
      </Record>
      <FileName>d:\mdmtest\srinivaS\padusrini.txt</FileName>
      </MT_DMS_FINAL>
Well i have designed in my MI only FirstName , how to capture this element "FileName" which i can use it in mapping , if i have to write any UDF to capture it ,please guide me.
thx in advance for u r help
    with regards
    Srini

    Hi Guys ,
Can i use File Content Conversion for .pdf document , my pdf doc content is not known, means it"s a complete info doc.I may get .jpeg any picture or drawing.
I thought i can use below file content conversion paramters:
    Document Name : MT_DMS_FINAL
    RecordSet Name : Record
    RecordSet Structure : Row,*
    Row.fieldNames - FirstName
    Row.fieldSeparator - ;
    Row.processFieldNames - fromConfiguration
    Row.additionalLastFields - ignore
    Row.missingLastfields  -  ignore
Now i put a pdf doc of unknown content , and my assumption was some set of charater would be dumped in  XML and rest would be ingonered which is least bothered part in my scenario , unless i get the filename from runtime ot Adapter module developed
But in RWB CC monitoring i see below error :Error: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Illegal XML character:  &#xb;.
Any views on this , can any one help me out with the above requirment. Hope u guys got wat am trying to put out here
thx in advance for u r help

  • FILE ADAPTER NOT READING FILE.

    HI, GUYS.
I'M USING A FILE ADAPTER TO READ A FILE THAT HAVE 4 REGISTERS AND EACH REGISTER ONLY HAS ONE FIELD THAT IS NUMBER TYPE.
I CREATE THE FILE ADAPTER, AND I LET BPEL TO CREATE THE SCHEMA. THE IDE CALLS THES FIELD "C1". I ALSO CONFIGURE THAT THE FILE THAT MUST RAD IS THE PATTERN "*.TXT" AND EVERY 5 SECONDS.
THEN A CREATE A RECEIVE ACTIVITY THAT RECEIVES WHAT WAS READ FROM THE FILE ADAPTER IN A VARIABLE.
THEN I CREATE AN ASSIGN ACTIVITY AND I ASSIGN THE VALUE FROM THE RECEIVE ACTIVITY VARIABLE TO A NUMBER VARIABLE THAT IS THE INPUT OF A WEB SERVICE.
THEN I DEPLOY THE BPEL, AND I INITIATE IT, BUT I GOT AN ERROR THAT SAYS THAT THE FIELD "C1" IS EMPTY. SO LOOKS LIKE THE FILE ADAPTER IS NOT READING THE FILE. I WOULD THANK ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN BRING ME.

    caps off
You're sure the interface of the fileadapter (client partnerlink) is the same as your data-file which needs to be picked up?
can you paste the content of the file and the content of the xsd of the process.

  • File adapter - Unexpected exception running file2xmbprocessor

I have no idea whats wrong.
    Any idea
    Thanks harald

    Hi Prasad,
sorry - but I can't understand what you mean.
The file-adapter I'm talking about runs on a fileserver. This adapter read the files and send them to the XI-System where a java-mapping is running.
Therefore I can't believe that the problem is the mapping.
The way I see it is that the error must be in a part of the file-read-process because the exception says
<b><u>[fileprocessor]</u> Error: Unexpected exception running file2xmbprocessor
    java.util.NoSuchElementException
    at java.util.TreeMap$EntryIterator.nextEntry </b>
Could you please explain what you mean.
    Thanks and best regards

  • File Adapte picking up XML if XSD valid without verifing the XSD in adapter

    hi',
    I am facing one issue
I have a sample XML file which I want to read through BPEL process
for this I have configured the file adapter with the schema and reading the file adapter with the receive activity
next I have created one XSD file (which file adapter referes to) and one XML file,
File adapter reads it after the XML file gets validated with the XSD which is kept in a location *'/test/xsd/emp.xsd'*,
now the issue is that the file adapter is picking up and initiating the process without verifying the XSD mentioned in the adapter
it is only checking the XML file with the XSD mentioned in the XML,
for example if I have a xml file which is refering to some other schema it also gets read by file adapter without worring about what schema is mentioned in file adapter
please advice me is this the way File adapter works in Oracle BPEL or I am doing some thing wrong
I am using SOA suite 10.1.3.3.0 which is deployed in UNIX enviornment.
    thanks
    Yatan

    thanks Ketan ,
as you suggested, after adding validateXML to true, the XML is getting validated to the XSD in the adapter,
the process is getting invoked and the receive activity is throwing error of 'Invalid XML', this is perfect as I expected
however now the issue is, the file which is invalid in terms of XSD present in the file adapter is still being archived to 'success dir' i.e. 'LogicalArchiveDirectory', ideally it should have moved to fail directory,
but if the XML file is not complete or having some error in terms of the XSD it is refering to 'target namespace' and 'target location'
then it will move to the fail directory and the receive activity is also showing the error,
see this is how I have configured my bpel.xml file for the file adapter.

  • Archiving Processedor Errored Files on FTP folder-Receiver File Adapter

    Hello,
A quick question, we have a scenario where we are picking a file from FTP folder and we need to archive it on the
    1) Processed file on the same FTP server different folder
    2) errored file on different FTP folder.
How could we achieve this using the FILE Adapter?
As what i could see the file adapter does not gives you the option to select the FTP site for this...
    Help is appreciated.

To archive source files where a permanent error occurred during processing, select Archive Faulty Source Files.
A permanent error occurs either during the conversion of the file content, or in a module in the module processor.

  • Diff between Seeburger Adapter and File Adapter

    Hi All,
My company needs to interact with some banks and the banks are particular that they want SFTP, which is not supported by  File Adapter, so we have decided to go with Seeburger adapter.
Now what are the differences between File adapter and seeburger adapter?
I believe that Seeburger adapter does not support File Content Conversion, Archiving etc.
Could you all pls put some light on the diff between file adapter and seeburger adapter when it comes to dealing with files?
    Xier

    Hi
You are aware with working of File Adapter.
The most direct way of using the Seeburger adaptors is to configure the BIC as a module. There is a software component from seeburger called bicmapper which will allow you to
    1. Define or import the inbound message metadefinition in various formats ( edifact, xml,...)
    2. Using a mapping create an xml variant as the output metadefinition or edifact in the other direction.
    3. Create a one to one mapping between input en output.
    4. Export the metadata in xsd or sda format for import in XI
    5. Generate an SDA which can be deployed in XI and used as a module.

  • Character Converting Problem at File Adapter

I am having a character conversion problem bringing in a XML file into XI.
It is converting the data wrong.
I have a file adapter picking up Audit.xml encoding is utf-8, use binary mode to pick it up.
XI takes the file and converts it into a text file.
I compared the hex of Audit.xml source file and the Audit.txt file and the characters are different for a specific few.
    See attached image for details
Please let me know if any additional information will help
    http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/tkc204/SAP%20XI/Audit.png

Actually for this case Christian is right the source xml that I am receiving wasn't valid UTF-8. The program generating the xml was just putting the encoding - utf-8 tag on top because that's what the code told it to do.
The actual data is Windows-1252 in xml. So when XI reads it, it uses the utf-8 tag on top and is expecting UTF-8, but it was getting something else causing the unsupported characters to get converted.
The HEX was different on the Source XML comparing it to what XI was generating after File Adapter.
After making the output change to Windows 1252. It changes back to the expect HEX.
Source - is at Windows 1252
XI - it will use UTF-8 (no way to change it)
Target - forced to create in Windows 1252
Other helpful tools I used: W3C Validator - upload the file and found that I wasn't receiving UTF-8
I hope this is clear and helps someone else in the future.
    Thanks For everyone's input.

    Hi,
With the standard functionality you cant achieve.
You have to go with adapter modules for processng the other format files.

  • Difference between File adapter and FTP adapter

    hi,
I would like to know what is the difference between File adapter and FTP adapter
    thanks
    Yatan

Both file and ftp adapters are non-concurrent jca adaps, however we go for file adapters mostly when you have files on your local environment and do not need to wait for someone to FTP the files on a timely basis. In case of FTP Adapter, we would need an FTP Server, a remote location with access where in files pitch in for polling.
Also, File adapter is dependent on the local folder and OS, however FTP adapter is dependent on the local as well as the remote file system/OS/folder permissions/user access.

  • Data Transfer Port ranges in FTPS with SSL in File Adapter

    Hi,
I would appreciate if you could give me pointers reagrding the below issue.
    We are on XI 3.0.
For one interface, I have to configure the FTP File adapter to pick up the files from external server.
The connection is secure and should be FTPS with SSL.
I have the certificate from the 3rd party and have it installed on our XI development server.
The change has been made in our firewall to allow the connection to the host IP and port 21 which is configured at the target party as Explicit FTPS port and they have allowed access to our Server IP in their firewall.
I have configured other FTPS connections and they worked fine but this is the only one that has been giving me so much trouble.
The error i get today is:
Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "60.234.48.106:21": java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
Yesterday, i got the below error:
Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "60.234.48.106:21": iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Server certificate rejected by ChainVerifier
The Vendor has suggested to get the firewall ports 21 and 28000:30000 (data transfer) to be opened.
He has also provided with the certificate passphrase additionally to the user name and password needed to make the connection.
When i tried the connection from the XI development to the vendor server, via the Telnet, it looked like it worked.
    Please advice.

    1. Open the port ranges. FTPS usually requires you to open ports in the range of 65024 through 65535 for Passive FTP data
    connections
    2. Use the CA name in the certificate. it should be same as of the host name of the FTPS server
