  • What is the different between component and component type in extract struc

    Hi All,
What is the different between component and component type in the Extract Structure?
I used them, but I never really know the different between them yet.
    Thanks,
    Grace

The difference between Component and Component Type are:
Component This is essentially the field name in the extraction structure. These can either be SAP delivered field names or custom field names (e.g. Y* or Z*).
Component Type This defines the data definition for the field, along with associated attrributes and descriptions for anything using that Component Type, to define the corresponding Component. If you double-click on any Component Type in an extraction structure, it will show you the definitions that have been setup for that Component Type (will display as Data Element but it's essentially synonymous - Component Type refers to structures and Data Elements refer to tables).

  • DOCUMENT TYPE VS SALES DOCUMENT TYPE

    Hi friends
can u plz help me to find out difference between DOCUMENT TYPE and SALES DOCUMENT TYPE in terms of contain which they include. and their function.

    Hi,
Sales Doc type : A sales doc type is a doc which controls how the data is to function, how it is to be displayed and the pricing of the document type.
A sales doc is devided into
      1.  Pre sales Doc: Inquiry,Quotation
      2.  Sales orders  : cash sales,Rush orders,Order
      3.  Outline agrements: Rebates,contracts etc
      4.  Complints : debit memo,credit memos etc
      5. Special sales Docs : Third partysales,Consignment sales etc
All the 5 mentioned above are different document types.
Based on the Doc type which we enter in the transaction the system will repond according to that.

  • Where do I find what Billing Document Type to Sales Doc Type is associated

    Good Afternoon
Where in the configuration do I find how the Billing Document Type to Sales Document Type is mapped to each FI Document type?
I thought I would find it under VTFA, VTFL and  VTFF
    Your help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
In SD module, when you configure the flow of documents, i.e. Sales Order -> Delivery -> invoice, or Sales Order -> Invoice the rules of copying data from one document to another are defined.
There are two fields, that are visible in FI documents to configure:
    a) the allocation number
    b) The reference number
in both fields following values can be pass from SD to FI:
    A. Customer Purchase Order number
    B. Sales Order number
    C. Delivery number
    D. External delivery number
    E. Actual invoice number
If those fields (ore one of them) are left blank, then no data is being passed to FI. This is situation, when you dont have any data in FI document. In such cases you should contact your SD coleague and ask to configure with respective document.
I hope, it clarifies the situation (As far as I understood your last post).

  • Sales document type restriction to create sales order

    Hi Frinds,
My client has one requirement ...they have different sales document type. For sales document type  free of charge delivery they want only some authorised person should be able to create sales order. Is it possible to set the authorisation to create sales order according to sales document type.
    Regards
    SV

    Yes,
As already suggested, it is very well possible to restrict the user for the use of certain sales document type from basis.
& to add to the above,
Create Z* table with Sales Org + Doc type = UserID.
call this table in VA01 transaction & write piece of coding , if current USerID have entry in this table with the said combination - should not allow to proceed further.
without any basis involvement also you can ahieve your requirement.
Note: Sales Org is used for validation purpose only.

  • Purchase order type in sales documents

    Hi All,
I have come across with a peculiar requirement . Basically we want to have a source from where we have got the order as the order may be from different environments.  Example: EDI Order, Web order, Manual Order.
So I have decided to use the field 'Purchase Order type' at the sales document header - Purchase order data.
We can define new purchase order types at (path) SPRO-SD-Sales-Sales document header-Define purchase order type
My question is how we can do this as automatic for each sales order. Is there any provision to assign the purchase order type to sales document type?
How can we address this issue?

    Hi,
try user exit USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAK in  MV45AFZZ. Pl take the help of your Abapers for this.
But then we have this kind requirement where we use the same document type, but goto > header data > purchase order data and select the way in which the orders are coming.
Hope it helps. Pl reward if useful.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Distribution Channel Vs Sales Document Type

    Dear All,
I have a confusion over my configuration process. My customer has the following types of customers:
    1) Distributors, 2)C&F, 3)Institutional Sales, 4)Modern Sales, 5)Employee Sales, 6)Scrap Sales, 7)Sale of raw materials and 8)Exports.
Now I have an option of either creating 8 distribution channels and maintain one Sales document type or I can define one Distribution channel and define 8 sales document types.
My requirement can be achieved by both means but I wish to know which would be a better approach. Whether creating multiple Distribution channels or creating multiple sales document types. Can you please suggest me a better method among the two with advantages and disadvantages if possible?
As far as pricing condition records are concerned, I anyways have to maintain in the key combination either sales document type or distribution channel. So i am a little confused over which is a better approach

In normal cases, we would be having different sales areas for the following
    1)  Domestic
    2)  Exports
    3)  STO
    4)  Institutional
In fact, some clients would like to have Domestic OE and Domestic Retail since predominently, they cater to these segments and would like to have reports based on these.  In my earlier project, they had gone for even Exports OE and Exports Retail due to the fact that their major sales is exports.
In your case, first decide whether to go for a seperate sales area or sale order type depending upon the volume of business the client would do.  If the sale is going to happen only occasionally in any of the above, then have one sales area called miscellaneous sales.
As for as possible, have the document types to the minimal for better performance.
    thanks

  • Immediate Transfer Order Creation not occuring for Sales Document Type

    Hello gurus,
I have a situation where a transfer order is not being created immediately for a specific sales document type.
Here is an example document flow of a desired scenario where the system is working:
    Sales document type:  ZOR
    >  Delivery type:  LF
    >  WMS transfer order
The Item Category in this scenario is TAN.
Here is an example of the document flow in the current scenario where the system is not working:
    Sales document type:  ZPRD
    > Delivery type:  LF
The Item Category is also TAN in this scenario.  The only identifiable difference in these scenarios is the sales document type.  For the ZOR SaTY, a Transfer Order prints immediately once the delivery is created.  For the ZPRD SaTY, a Transfer Order needs to be manually created after delivery creation.
Is there a configuration setting that is controlling this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for the link.  When I insert the WMTA output type in the delivery output header, the Transfer Order is automatically created.
The problem I'm running into now is the configuration setting that controls this.  I thought I figured it out when going to this IMG path:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide  -->  Logistics Execution -->  Shipping -->  Basic Shipping Functions  -->  Output Control -->  Define Print Parameters Shipping
When selecting the Delivery Note, the shipping point I was using was not configured in this location.  I added the shipping point into this transaction, saved, and created a new order & delivery.  However, the WMTA output type still was not automatically inserted into the delivery when saving.  Is there another location I should be looking to fix this so that when I enter an order with a particular Shipping Point, the WMTA output type automatically appears in the delivery?

  • Sales Area and Sales document type

    Hi Professionals,
I like to clarify if the following is correct:
    1. Sales Area Must Be assigned  to Sales document type.
    regards
    John

    Hi John,
    1. Sales Area Must Be assigned to Sales document type
-as far as the logic for this goes ,
its main relevanmce  is to limit the sales document type to the sales area is that the end user does not create a sales order ,
for another sales area in your sales document let for ex-
there is a sales area for whole sales and one for retail.
now you have configurerd the ywho sales doc type for whole sales- sales area and yret for retail sales area.
now if the user creates the ywho sales order in retail sales area there will be process related problems for despatch guys so in order to limit this error and hassle, there are the ales area specific sales document types and can be configured as earlier told by gurus

  • Sales docu type ZLCO Vs Billing type ZLR - Error

    Hi,
Pls check whether you have maintained the following settings:
Did you maintain the Billing type ZLR in order related billing type in VOV8 .
Did you maintain the billing relevance B     (Relevant for order-related billing - status acc.to order qty) in VOV7.
Did you maintain the copy control from Sales document type ZLCO to billing type ZLR in VTFA.

  • Block Sales Document type for a set of customers

    Hi,
I have to block the processing of particular sales document type, say XX or a scheduling agreement for a specific set of customers. Can anyone suggest me some inputs on this.
    Thanks in advance
    Suresh

    Thanks all for quick response.
    1. By blocking the sales document type by setting the block in VOV8 will not allow u to process that particular sales document type at all.. ie for all customers..But my problem is to block, say ZCAL for particular set of customers only..say customer 1234 of sales org 0001, customer 2132 of sales org 0001, customer 1315 of sales org 0002 etc..Apart from these setof customers, it should be able to process the document type for other customers.
    2. By blocking the customer in VD05, it will block the customer for all sales operations. But i dont want to block the same customer for other sales document types.. Say, it should be blocked for ZCAL but not for all document types.
    My requirement:
When we create an scheduling agreement, we give the sales area in the initial screen and enter. Then we give the Sold to party. Here it should check whether the customer entered is in the list of customers blocked for scheduling agreement. If so, it should pop up an error message stating" you cannot process scheduling agreement for customer X" If not, it should allow further processing.
I will try with the suggested User exit.
Please suggest if u have got any more ideas.
    Thanks
    Suresh
