What's new in Process Control 2.5?

Hi,
I'm looking for information about what is new in Process Control 2.5(compare to the 2.0 version)
Thank you in advance for your help,
Regards,
Julien

The key innovation of PC 2.5 is the user experience. The highlights of this innovation are:
A new user experience based on work centers which mimics the way compliance and business users actually work
A combination of top session management and sidebar navigation leads to cleaner, more intuitive design
Broad availability of relevant contextual information as appropriate, in the form of documents and links
Pervasive search functionality, with list filtering and sorting capability to deliver information as the user needs it
Automated testing
Delivered scripts cover Financials, Procure to Pay, Sales and Distribution, and more...
Rule parameters passed to scripts extract data from the source ERP system and return evaluation results with related issues or exceptions to Process Control
Query-based scripts use SAP Query to provide additional flexibility
Use of standard SAP and customer-created reports can be returned as part of evaluation and marked as requiring review to determine whether the evaluation passed or failed
ANd much much more

  • Is migrating open application workflows to process-controlled WFL required?

    Dear forum members,
We have upgraded an SRM system from version 5.0 to 7.0 (SP 7) and we have gone live in SRM 7.0 with the old application-controlled workflows still being used for old and new documents.
We are in the process of changing the workflow to the new process-controlled (BRF) workflow and this works OK for new docments in our test systems.
Can you confirm if we MUST migrate the old workflows to the new BRF workflow when we activate the new p-c workflow into the live system?
I would prefer to have the old application-controlled workflow continue for existing document approvals and use the process-controlled workflow for new ones.
    My questions are:
    1. Can we use both application and process-controlled workflows together at the same time (new docs use p-c workflow, existing approvals to continue to use A-C workflow while they run down)?
    2.  If not, can we migrate SC n-step BADI workflow to the p-c workflow (report /SAPSRM/PR_WF_MIGRATION_CFG implies not)
Any help or advice is appreciated as always!
    Thanks a lot,
    Nick

    hello,
we are dealing with the same issue in a srm migration from 5.0 to 7.0.
We have a copy of the production system with a lot of open workitems based on application controlled workflows.
We build up new process controlled workflows and activated those for the new shopping carts.
The report for the migration (/SAPSRM/PR_WF_MIGRATION_CFG) of open workitems seems to be not sufficient, because
    - all open workitems are going to be restarted, right?
we tried to approve old woritems from the powl, that seems to work. Simultaneously brf workflow works fine.
Right now we are wondering why it should not be possible to finish the old workitems application controlled and the new ones process controlled. Do we miss something?
Has anybody experiences based on customer projects?
    kind regards
    Carsten

  • Process Controlled Workflows VS Applicaiton Enabled Workflows-What to chose

    G'Day All,
We are upgrading from SRM5.0 to SRM7.0
There are these bespoke shopping cart approval workflows developed previously. I have to do some sort of assessment to include
    1) Why would we go for PCWs instead of just migrating the old ones in SRM 7.0 as business is pretty happy with the functionality they have got and are not interested in revising the workflow processes. Answer :  Application enabled workflows are in maintainence mode so newer functionality would be delivered using PCWs.( is there any other justification ? )
    2) Would we be able to map the existing workflow process to PCWs, here i need some pointers. I understand the PCWs are based on BRF though i don't know much about BRF( updating myself ). The key question i have is, whatever is there in bespoke workflow templates would i be able to  replicate that using this i.e. a different technology. Since my exposure to either PCWs or BRF is not great so as a general rule i am asking, is it possible or are there any sort of technical limitations on what you can and what you can't do using PCWs which you could design using a normal workflow template?
I am sure this would be a common analysis which many of you might have done or are doing if you are involved in an upgrade.
An Interesting Fact : There is no documentation available on existing SRM 5.0 workflows as what differently they have done to standard. The only thing i know at this stage is they have a bespoke level 1 template which call different standard templates for n level approval process. The apporval process( agent determination ) is based purely on custom logic. I am not that worried about the agent determination as i know i could get that as rule evaluation in BRF. The crux for me is to understand how BRFcontrols or connects to workflow templates in this particular case and what permutation conbinations are possible.
So, i want to have a discussion on this and if possible some insight on all this new PCWs.
Hope to see some valuable comments.

    Praveen

    Hi everyone:
    My question is the following.
We will implement SRM 7.01 with Process Controlled Workflow.
However in the manual is the following note:
Note: Even if you decide to use Process-Controlled Workflow in general,
there are a few workflows still on the old technology:
    WS10400022 . Contract Alert Workflow
WS10000192 - Approval Workflow for Internal Users
    WS10000209 - Approval workflow for new bidder/supplier
    WS10000093/WS10000100 -Procurement Card Approval
Probably We will required some of this.
My question is if we are planning to configure process and application the correct strategy will be:
    1.     Start the configuration with the application controlled workflow and then
    2.     Follow with the change of the configuration application to process controlled workflow
    3.     And configure the workflowu2019s in process.
u2022     Is there any problem when if we change the check  application to process?  Are there any chance that we loss the configuration?
u2022     Is there any problem in the functionality that both kinds of workflow (application-process) work at the same time?
u2022     If is possible to make change or maintenance of the application workflow?
Thanksu2019 a lot for all the help
    Best Regards

  • Doubts with the new process-controlled worflow

    Hi everyone,
We are working with a new implementation of SRM 7 in classic scenario. We have a pair of doubt about the new process-controlled workflow. Can you help us?
    Our doubts are:
    1) In SC there are a new button called "inquire", this is used to return the SC to the creator in order to change the SC. Can we uses this same button in central contracts?
    2) In the documentation we read, we can configure when a notification can be sent. For example, can we configure than only when a SC or contract is rejected the system sends a notification to the creator of the document? Is this notification is a e-mail? If the WF has n-steps approvers and we configurate that SRM sends the notification to the approver, does it mean that this notification is sent to all the approvers?
    3) When a SC is released, can it be modified?
    We need your help.

    1) In SC there are a new button called "inquire", this is used to return the SC to the creator in order to change the SC. Can we uses this same button in central contracts?
"Inquire" button will be only avaliable if you have configured approval with completion in the process level.. you can configure this for contract as well
    2) In the documentation we read, we can configure when a notification can be sent. For example, can we configure than only when a SC or contract is rejected the system sends a notification to the creator of the document? Is this notification is a e-mail? If the WF has n-steps approvers and we configurate that SRM sends the notification to the approver, does it mean that this notification is sent to all the approvers?
when a SC or contract is rejected the system sends a notification to the creator of the document? Yes.. system will send an email notification
Is this notification is a e-mail?  Yes
If the WF has n-steps approvers and we configurate that SRM sends the notification to the approver, does it mean that this notification is sent to all the approvers? Yes
    3) When a SC is released, can it be modified? SC can't be modified once its Approved..

  • Error during approval Process flow in Process controlled workflow

    Hello Experts,
We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario using Process controlled workflow.WE recently connected a new backend R/3 system to our SRM system i.e we now have 2 R/3 backend system connected to SRM system
It is regarding the two new additional account assignment categories that came into picture when we connected the new R/3 backend system to our SRM system, i.e. Asset and Network.
There seems to be some problem with the approval workflow for those SHC, that have such Acc *** Cats.
    Please find below my obeservations:
    - if you have just one line item in the SHC, and this item is either booked on Asset or on Network, than everything goes fine. After the Acc *** approval, the PR is created in R/3
    - if you have SC with a mix between an "old" Acc *** Cat (Cost Centre, WBS and Order) and one of the "new" Acc *** Cats, than the workflow is not working as required --- the manager, that is responsible for the accounting approval of the two positions (e.g Cost Centre and Asset) gets only one work item in his approval overview --- in that work item, the two positions are there, but the Asset one is grayed out --- so, the Manager approves only the Cost Centre positions and than the SC is no longer with the approver --- if you observe the SC now from the requisitioner point of view, the status of the line items in the approval process overview of both(!) lines is "approved", but the overall status of the SC is still "in approval"
Can you all experts plz let us know why this is happening and how this can be resolved?
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    RKS

    Hi,

  • Process Controlled WF for Shopping Cart

    Hi,
We have implemented process controlled workflow for shopping cart approval.
    1. Created a bespoke schema for the approval process
    2. Defined 5 process levels in the schema
    3. changed the BRF event at the schema evaluation level. It now
contains a constant with the name of new schema create in step 1.
    4. Decision set used is item based approval for partial documents (Type 4)
    4. The first process level is get the technical approval from bespoke
table based on material group. For that we have first created a
    Responsibility Resolver Name - ZTECHNICAL_APPROVER.
We have implemented the BADI - /SAPSRM/BD_WF_RESP_RESOLVER. Assigned
the filter as BUS2121 and ZTECHNICAL_APPROVER.
    5. Now we have placed the external debugger in BADi. when we create
the shopping cart the flow doesn't stop at the break point. The item
reaches to the last step of Automatic approval (Rejected).
    6. We think that schema is getting evaluated, however the process
    level is not getting called.
    7. Before we created schema, all the carts wer getting "Approved" by
automatic step. In our schema the automatic step is "Rejected", hence
    the carts are getting rejected.
Could you please let me know what could be reason for BADI
implementation not being called or is there any config step which we
    are missing?

    Hi,
I think your process level evaluation id is not true, that is the reason system skips the process level.. Can you check your evaluation event-expression code. What do you see in SLG1?  For testing purpose change the evaluation id to 0EV000 and check. Make Sure you debug through the user(requester) that you are creating the SC. Please test and let me know...

  • What's New in Audition 3.0?

Don't have time now to get into how they help, but I would just like to say that there is MUCH improvment in Audition 3.0...I'd like to say this because I've heard lots of grumbling on other forums about 3.0 not being an upgrade at all over the previous versions 1.5 or 2.0, this is completely false, for me in particular the improvement in MT View (editing: collectively trimming, duplicate entire track and fading improvements) are indispensable.
and most people don't even mention any improvement aside from spectral view (which is pretty big in itself, isn't it?) spot healing etc...which I haven't even used yet.
I just want to say, they definetly made some good improvements, while they may not be overwhelming to some they are entirely useful in my situation and I think for most people they would come to see they are definite improvements if they used it long enough.

ah guh suk yuh dutty sket mudda bumbohole battybway!
It's a very helpful post because there is people who come to this forum when trying to decide to what recording software too purchase, and there's also people all over the internet who say that Audition is not better then Pro-Tools and more amateurish when in many regards it is more professional and has a better interface and GUI, especially if you're not doing too many tracks (less then 16 or perhaps more on a high end system). It's multi-track is easy and stays out of your way, has great automation, and some updated editing capabilities and has an excellent mbc that pro-tools does not have (maybe not excellent but very good)..and I believe pro-tools is a cpu hog doing certain things just like Audition is.
So people come to this site and I'm going to tell them the truth that it has been added to nicely since Adobe bought it and hopefully if people buy it will have another update to make the multi-track even better.  It has a few bugs and downsides but so does pro-tools, I think the upsides are greater then pro-tools.
The only downsides are the midi is a bit lacking compared to other programs which have been in the midi-game longer, and that it does use alot of cpu for certain efx, and the multi-track is better in some ways but not as advanced in others in terms of sequencing and arranging, it could improve in that area, loops and stretching loops to match each other then being able to record how you bring the loops in and out in a sequence like ableton but in it's own way then it would rule the world forever.

It looks you are new to PI,
you have to develop scenario end to end, by creating source data type and target data type(if you have XSD's not required),then use Graphical mapping (message mapping) to map source and target structures.
Search in sdn for one end to end scenario you will understand easily

  • Acceptance by Requestor - Process control workflow

    Hi All,
I have followed the below thread and configured the "Acceptance by contact person" BRF for status REJECTED. Now when my shopping cart is rejected , i still see the  shopping cart as awaiting approval. This is sometihng strange as i expected soomething like "In Your Inbox".  In the approval preview i can see it is awaiting acceptance from me. however i am confused as there is no acceptance button in the detail of the SC.
do i need to go to edit mode? if i go to edit mode the SC workflow will start from the beginning as it behaves similarly  when we modify shopping cart awaiting approval .however acceptance would have deleted the shopping cart  item that were rejected and  workflow would have continued from that step onward.
please do let me know what i am experiencing is standard or thereis something wrong ??

  • Error in uploading  process catalog of Process control

    Hello,
When i am trying to upload the controls through process catalog of advanced upload in process control , i get an error message  as Number of columns required 40, Found 39 columns .
I have used the same format what the tool has given as a standard format but still i get the error as i mentioned earlier .
I have done all the necessary possibilities of giving a blank at the 40 th column but still it doesn't accept.
Can anyone please help me in this regard so that i can go ahead in creating the controls instead doing manually.

    Raghu,
Carefully review your data to make sure eveything lines up and is appropriate.  Then generate a new template and make sure it has all components in it even though you might not use everything.  Then use the 'transfer" function to transfer the data from the existing file to the new template.
Try that.  Sometimes MDUG will throw strange errors is you reuse files or copy them.  Start with a clean template and this will hopefully work.  This has worked for me in the past when I'd see strange, never seen before errors.
    Thanks.

  • Oracle 9i , what starts the server process

I'm reading the documentation about the server process which communicates with the client process eg sqlplus. But I'm not sure about how the server process is started. Imagine a server where the instance is not running . I log in via sqlplus /nolog , connect as sysdba and execute the startup command. According to the documentation it is the server process which starts the instance , but what starts the server process. Perhaps it is the sqlplus process. And if i log in using sqlplus over the network , I communicate with the listner, in this case is it the listener which starts the server process. ?
    George

    Hi,
    Take a look:
"... Some user processes cannot communicate with the dispatcher, so the network listener process cannot connect them to a dispatcher. In this case, or if the user process requests a dedicated server, the listener creates a dedicated server and establishes an appropriate connection."
    Oracle® Database Concepts 10g Release 2 (10.2)
    Process Architecture
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/process.htm#i21918
How Do Listeners Respond to Connection Requests
The listener can spawn a new process and pass control of the client session to the process. In a dedicated server environment, every client connection is serviced by its own server-side process. Server-side processes are not shared among clients. Depending on the capabilities of the operating system, two types of dedicated server connections are possible: bequeath connections and redirect connections. Each results in a separate process that handles client processing, but the mechanics of the actual connection initiation process are different.

  • User budget in process controlled workflow

    Hi,
Is it possible to use the 'user budget' option with the new process controlled WF ? If it is possible what are the necessary customization that need to be maintained ?
    Thanks

    Hi Sarvanan,
The requirement is to have approval process based on the user budget .
For ex if a user has been assigned a budget of $5000 per month, then for shopping up to a cumulated value of $5000 no approval is required($5000 spread across multiple purchasing docs ; not restricted to a single document) . However when the cumulated value of purchasing documents in a single month by this user exceeds $5000, then the documents is routed for necessary approval.

  • Process controlled workflows- basic questions

    Hi,
I am new to SRM 7 process controlled workflows.
I need some help designing the process controlled worlflow for n step approval of shopping cart.
If there are n conditions to be checked for a cart before deetrminig the no of approvers, then does that mean for a BO(in my case Shopping cart),there will be n process schemas or just one process schemas with n process levels?
Also under each process schema,I see multiple expressions/process levels.Does the column "level sequence no" determine the sequqnce of the task in the whole approval process?
    Please advise.

    Hi Saravanan,
    Thanks for the prompt response!
Based on your inputs,I think I need to go with option 2 as based on the data in shopping cart e.g. product category, spend limit, total value and a/c assignment catgeory, the no of approvers are determined.
    The flow is like:
    cond 1: check the prod category,if true,add 1st approver.
cond 2: check reqeuseter spending limit with total value fo cart,if true, add further approver or approvers
cond 3: check a/c assgt category,if true for a particular catgeory, add new approver or approvers using RFC call.
cond 4: check ship-to-address,if a local address, add buyer as last approver.
For a given cart, one or multiple conditions from the above may be true. But the sequence for the cosnidtions is as defined above.
As per my understanding,I need to create only one process schema for "Shopping cart" and then create different BRF expressions for each of the above conditions right?E.g. cond1>level1,cond2>level2 etc...Please advise.
Also under process schema, process level configuration,I see one column for "resp resolvername".What do I need to enter here?My understanding was that this entry will be responsible for determining the approver values...Pls confirm.
Also if I go with option 2,you said BADI SAPSRM/BD_WF_RESP_RESOLVER' will have to be implemented for determining approvers. So the logic for determining the approvers for each of the above conditions will be implemented in this single badi?
    Pls advise.
Also in the event linkage,I need to actiavte only the two entries /SAPSRM/CL_WF_PDO/SRM_PROCESS_START and /SAPSRM/CL_WF_PDO/WS40000014 right?
Also regarding the workflow template,is WS40000014 the only template for all business objects i.e. Shopping cart and PO?
Thanks again for your time and inputs.
