Far from the truth.
If your previous phone supports storing contacts on the SIM card, you can import the contacts stored on the SIM card with another GSM Phone. If stored on a full size SIM card, there are easy ways to cut the SIM card down to a micro size SIM card to be inserted in the iPhone 4.
Or the carrier for the previous phone should have an option for exporting the contacts from the phone in a format that can be imported by an address book application on your computer that is supported for syncing with the iPhone.
No contacts on your computer? You depend on your cell phone alone for your contacts with can be lost or stolen? If so, the manufacturer for your previous cell phone doesn't include software or an option for syncing contacts with an address book application on your computer? If not, why not? And if not, that isn't Apple's problem. You should voice your complaint to the manufacturer for your previous cell phone for not including an option for syncing contacts with an address book app on your computer or for importing contacts or transferring contacts from the phone to your computer.
There are PLENTY OF VIABLE INTERNET VIDEO FACILITIES.
You should be able to return the iPhones for payment credit within a designated period of time from the purchase date. In the U.S., an iPhone can be returned for payment credit within 30 days of the purchase date. Assuming you are not a low-life troll, run - don't walk, run back to the store where the iPhones were purchased to return the iPhones for payment credit.

  • Iphone 5 power button not working!! They have replacement program for months but why they dont email you and say it??

    I have had iphone 5 and have never been happy and i think apple is not leading the technology and future of market anymore as they are lowering quality of their products(even hardware). I had to change first iphone 5 i had because of wireless issues and then i had battery problem  and had to charge 3 times a day and finally after 2 years i bought they decided that its faulty and they decide to change it. Luckily enough i read it on an online tech magazine and after googling i see that they have had replacement for power button as well which i am eligible for as well!! i go to genius bar and they replace battery but they dont replace power button cause they examine it and passes till the audio dock test! It connects to charder dock or cable but it doest to audio test dock and he says one off the pins inside is not right but it charges perfectly with every cable in the store!! And i tell him that they have to change power button not the charging pin cause it doesnt make sense!! Its a faulty product and maybe if they emailed and said it nearly a year ago my pin was right then!!  so i think they found a silly reason not to change it and so i am struggling with that phone and brand  that i hate(once i used to love)!

    This is a user-to-user technical support forum. This is not AppleCare. You are not addressing Apple here. No one here can help you resolve your customer service issue with Apple. Use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly. When you talk to them, I'd suggest not using profanity. It makes people less likely to help you.

  • What happens exactly when you buy a phone from a third party?

    My contract is going to end this month and I have a $50 gift card to Best buy. I already posted up a question but for this post I want to know exactly what will I get and what will I won't get.
    I'm hoping to buy a Droid Incredible or a Droid X2 or a Droid 3. (Have any reviews about one, two, or all of them? if you can please type them up... I already read reviews from the webpage and on google but you know more reviews are better)
    So first of all, I want to get the Droids from Bestbuy... I want to. Not I have to. Otherwise, I can get a phone in a nearby Verizon store.  (And I know that sometimes third party stores are bad and this one person said she got hers from walmart. But a lot of technology from walmart is bad. Bestbuy is a lot better in having better condition, quality, etc technology.)
    Will I get warranty/insurance from Bestbuy?
    Can I do a little demo or something like that as I search through Bestbuy's phones?
    Do I get like a return guarantee or something like that if I don't like it?
    If there are other things that I will get or won't get, please state what they are
    Finally, I've been asking specific questions about updating but since none of them apply to me, I want to know what I am eligible for.
    For a brief description: I had an LG EnV 3 but I lost that one and instead of buying a new phone, I just traded my mom's old phone (which was broken so she got a new, same type phone that she graciously gave me). And according to the employee there, when I traded phones, I was still eligible in upgrading to a new phone... Anyway, my mom's actual phone (not the one that I have) is the first line on the family plan. I will ugprade my phone when my two year contract expires.
    So what do you think I'm eligible for?
    I thought I was going to get $100 off but someone says that that's only for the first line... which is kinda confusing since the verizon employee said that me and my sister will get $100 when we upgrade our phones.
     I'm going to call Verizon either today or tomorrow but it's always good to know what non-employees know as long as its valid.

    I will be one of the many standing in line Mar 11 for the new ipad2 (2 of them actually) my question is to go with att or verizon 3g model? I live in the seattle area and we have good att 3g coverage here... but I do enjoy going camping in and around the Mountains, lakes, rivers, ocean, sound. and would enjoy doing some facebooking while in the great outdoors.. (pathetic I know ) is Verizon's data coverage better? worse? slower than att? I know they have more coverage but am worried about speed. in those everyday places i guess... what would you buy?

    I'd assume Verizon's iPad 3g coverage will be much like their iphone coverage (no talking while web surfing). I'd have to wonder what this will do with multitasking on the verizon version of the iPad 2. No specific examples to give........just a bit to consider.

    I have been waiting for the IOS7 for so long.. it's nice but not as good as i expected.. apple was always considered to be thrilling with it's designs and innovation, but.. ..android seems to be way better than the new IOS. I just hope Apple will review and bring something to this IOS7 because i think it's great time they make something to it!.. Apple seems to be sinking again.. i hope it doesn't..

    I hate the missing book genres as well. I think this is a big step backward, especially with the gaining popularity of audio books.  I see commercials for audible.com daily on television and even a podcast I listen to weekly is sponsored by Audible.com. A large part of my iTunes library consisted of audio books and now it makes it much more difficult to find something I'm in the mood to listen to. I was hoping they would have expanded on the genres tab with an update, not taking the feature away.  I had sent feedback previously wishing for a way to add even more genre artwork ourselves.  For example, iTunes as it was would have lumped a good portion of my library under the generic "Science Fiction & Fantasy" section. In that one heading alone I had books broken into categories such as Epic Fantasy, Techno-Thriller, Cyberpunk etc. subgenres.  Not to mention all the other types of books such as thriller, mystery, etc. Now I have NO way to sort them at all in any practical fashion by genre. Now I'll have to find an alternative program to use since audiobooks were what I used iTunes for the most.  Or roll back to a previous version that did what I needed it to do.

    All good suggestions and all correct. My recommendation is to backup as close to the time of getting the new phone, because anything done between the backup and restoring the new phone from backup will be lost. I lost some data from a game that I played between the two, yea, yea, I know, big whoop. But served as a reminder to back up.

    If you cant find an option on the Australian page I think its not possible to do this. You can only view the different notebook models because for each series (e. g. Qosmio X500) there are different models and configurations.

    I dont life in Australia but you can ask an authorized service provider for this. Maybe they can tell you something about this. Give them a call! ;)

  • Downloaded free albums and they dont have the Titles in the Album listing

    I just downloaded Lollapallouza and Austin City Limits, they are full of various artists and all the album titles are off of the Original Albums not the 2 I just mentioned (I have 26,000 songs on this Ipod and I would like to put them in the right playlists). Does anyone have a list that the can Copy n Paste into this message or an e-mail? ITunes India helpline was of little to no help. Its funny that I dont have this problem with Amazon downloads, they actually list the Albums that they advertise. I have tried to go back and look at the albums but they dont allow you to look at the album twice.

  • What options do I have if Best Buy doesn't honor what they sold you . . .

    This is my first time ever to post, but I am at wits end and hoping for help from the community. I have been trying to resolve this issue for 6 months. Here's my situation.
    My daugher is on her grandparents Verizon plan. Let's name her line B. I am autherized to purchase on the account. My daugher's phone was lost and she needed another one for security reasons. I called around to the Best Buys that we'd be near while travling and found one close by with the phone she wanted. The representative was excellent. Very very helpful and went the extra mile. He told me all about the edge program and how we were only going to pay an extra $10 a month for 2 years because we'd receive a $25 monthly credit. Then after 2 years we could surender the phone just pay taxes and upgrade the phone. The Best Buy representive called for apporval to make sure he could use a upgrade from line A for my daughter line B and still receive the edge. So he double checked to make sure everything would be seemless. This occured Oct 24, 2014. After the first bill it was all but seemless!!
    So in November I went to Best Buy, they sent me to Verizon, I went to Verizon, they sent me to Best Buy, Best Buy sent me to another Verizon and spoke to a supervisor. I was shown the error in Best Buys transaction. Best Buy upgraded line A to the edge but since there was no smartphone attached to line A, we did not recieve the $25 credit. Verizon sent me back to Best Buy and said Best Buy need to honor what they sold me. I went back to Best Buy close to my home. That Best Buy told me only the Best Buy I bought it from could help me. I had to call them because they are 5 hours and 6 minutes from my home. It took a few more calls before I spoke the mobile manager and he was going to investigate. Then it was the holidays and he didn't get back to me. I completely understood,. I called he and he said he hadn't forgotten me. Finally in December he told me he met with Ashley the Verison's Best Buy representive. According to him a Best Buy mobile supervision they would going to credit the account $50 for Novemeber and December. After that point we'd see the $25 edge credit. He said he'd forward me the email. I never recieved the email. I drove the 5 hours and 6 minutes to the store and he was off that day, but left a message for him to call me and please forward the email. No phone call, no forward email. So I called again, he was on vacation and wouldn't be in until after his vacation mid January. I was hopeful, but no credit on the bill in Jan 2105. I spoke to him again after his vacation and he promised to forward the email from Verison. Now it is Feb, still nothing, no email, no credit, no follow-up. I drive back there and had to speak the a store Manger, because the mobile manager has now been promoted to another area and he is off that day. The manager assures me the promoted moblie manager will contact me. But he doesn't. I call the store manger and he has the promoted mobile manager call finally me. The promoted mobile manager asks me for a copy of the bill. Fine, I get it to him. I'll have to fax it or mail it, but I would get it to him. Then the bill comes in with a $50 credit!!! Yay, I think they have it resolved, nope. April bill comes in no $25 edge credit. 
    I call the new mobile manager, poor soul, he doesn't know the situation. He took my information and meet with Ashley from Verizon. He calls me back, wow, he calls me back!!! I am so thankful. Then he starts talking about Best Buy in the third person! He doesn't know what "they" told me. When I bought the phone "they" put it on line A, then "they" transferred it to line B.  He's referring to his Best Buy representative in the third person. Talking about me buying the phone's contract for $600 plus dollars. I started to see red. So I ended oiur conversation to collect myself and called him back. Poor buy! Next conversation he explains that I need to put a smart phone on line A. I can buy a new one, use an old one, whatever, but line A needs a verison smart phone on it. He doesn't know why the promoted mobile manager didn't tell me this before. But since he didn't I'm out at least $150 that no one is willing to refund me. If I give line A the iPhone from line B, I won't have a phone for line B, unless I have one or buy a new one. He was kind enough to agree this was no fault of my own, but that of the Best Buy representive sold me the first time and the promoted mobile manager for not communicating the situation. So this is Best Buy's solution - grandpa who never wants more than his ancient flip phone has to get my daughers iPhone, my daugher get no phone or I have to buy one, and I'm out at least $150 (or more depending on how long this takes to resolve). I didn't even ask but I am sure the iPhone at some point must be surendered. The store manager is aware of the situation and he will call me tomorrow, or will he????
    So, do I just accept that they made a mistake, they can't honor their deal because it is a contract with Verison and I have to pay for it? I feel helpless and frustrated. We're under contract for another 2 years.

While things certainly seemed to have gone awry, I’m glad to hear that your initial experience purchasing a new phone for your daughter was pleasant.
    When our customers come to us for phone purchases, they should trust that we are able to communicate with their carrier’s systems to process a phone purchase seamlessly. It certainly seems that we may have missed something during your upgrade, causing you to miss out on the billing credit and that you’ve put forth a valiant effort to try to find a resolution to this issue.
    As I am sadly not equipped to personally take a closer look into this issue, could you please share with me the store location and any first names of managers you have been working with regarding these concerns? With the store location and manager names, I would be delighted to reach out to the store’s leadership to better research this experience to see what options we may have for you.

  • HT4009 Shouldn't an in-app purchase tell you what your buying is for a specific number of uses?

    There is a Word-O-Meter in Words with Friends that can meter how good the word is that you are about to play or if it's valid.  You first get some free uses and then an offer to buy when the free is used up.  What it doesn't tell you is your purchase is only for a limited number of uses and then you have to buy again.  This does not seem right, so wanted to get an opinion.

    Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
    You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.
    You may want to consider as well:

    In the Utilities folder, which is in Applications. You could also use Spotlight to search for it.

  • MacBook Pro....things you need to know before you buy!!!

    Helpful hints before you buy your MacBook Pro 15 or 17 inch:
    1. New MacBook Pro...does not have a firewire 400 port!!. If you have to transfer data from an old (2 years old) MacBook Pro to new one...need a 800 firewire cable or a 400 to 800 cable!!
    2. New MacBook Pro with HD Cinema 30 inch. The two items are not compatible unless you purchase the $99 Dual (not single), I repeat Dual..."Mini Display Port to Dual-Link adapter:

    The reason I am posting this is that I bought a MacBook Pro 15 inch on Monday and I specifically told the Apple people at the store what I had: 2 year old MacBook Pro and Cinema HD and what I would need and they sold me the mini single adapter. Nothing worked. Went to the store 3 times and no one could help me. Finally a guy from Australia, on this forum, was able to answer my call for help!!! I actually had to take his email into the store and show it to the Apple folk and they finally got me the correct adapter. Today is Friday, 4 days later and I am finally able to work on a project that has been on hold while I figured out something fairly simple...so much for these "Apple genius people." Just think the problems I would have had if I had an older Mac laptop or a PC laptop?!?@!

    Glad you got it sorted in the end!
    To be fair, most of the Genius bar people are very good and your experience was probably not typical, but it is also worth remembering that some of us here have been using Macs since before some of the Geniuses were even born, so we often know a thing or two that they may not have cottoned on to yet! When in doubt, a second opinion here can often be well worth obtaining.
