When I save file: media missing in motion file

when I save file: media missing in motion file

Dear Mr Khalid,
I modified the VI again by using the General Error Handler, by placing it after the Read from Binary File. The Simple Error Handler will be as is. When I build and ran the application the Error 4 do not show up anymore.

  • Problem with Motion 5 "Media Missing in Motion File"

    Greetings,
When I try to preview templates in the Project Browser, only the ones under Compositions will play in the preview window. Anything else either the screen stays black or I get the “Media Missing in Motion File” It appears that somehow the clip I’m trying to preview has lost the path to the preview file. All these templates are stored in the Movies/Motion Templates/Final Cut Effects or Final Cut Generator folders.
    Any suggestions?

Your own custom and thrid party templates do not normally have the video clip embedded to do the preview.  This is normal.

  • When i save files using CS6 files go white

When I save files using CS6 and try to view them in other program (i.e. iPhoto, etc) the files show as a white box with no image. I'm using a Macbook Pro with Yosemite.

Most likely you have "maximize compatibility" off, and are using applications that can only read the composite image (which requires maximize compatibility ON).

  • AI shutting down when I save files...

Not sure if anyone here may be able to help with this problem, but I'll try..
I recently replaced some of my PC hardware and had to reinstall Windows and CS3 etc. Ever since, Illustrator seems to be able to work fine when I start a new document and save it. However, if I even just open any document I created before I reinstalled and then try to save a file in AI (new or old), I get an error message telling me "Illustrator has encountered a problem and needs to be shut down."
I've tried Saving As under a different name/file type, copying/pasting content from the old document into a new one - doesn't work. Just opening any old file makes this error come up when I save.
Every other program in CS3 seems fine - only Illustrator has given me this problem.
    Any help??

I never had a printer.. I installed a scanner recently but this was happening before that so I don't think that's it.
I tried reinstalling Illustrator as well but it didn't help.
How would I reinstate everything back to the way it was? I assume reinstalling it would've done that?
Someone else told me it might have something to do with scripting? Does that make any sense??

  • Why we tick Embed Icc Profile in Illustrator when we save file?

    @

One thing to note when working with embedded color profiles.
I generally work under Adobe illustrator and I often post my work on Behance. I work with 'sRGB IEC61966-2.1' color profile. When publishing I use *.jpg with embedded ICC Color Profile. Adobe® Illustrator® can export only to the JPEG File Interchange Format JFIF (whereas Photoshop exports to the JPEG EXIF):
(JPEG) Formally, the EXIF and JFIF standards are incompatible. This is because both specify that their particular application segment (APP0 for JFIF, APP1 for Exif) must be the first in the image file. In practice, many programs and digital cameras produce files with both application segments included. This will not affect the image decoding for most decoders, but poorly designed JFIF or Exif parsers may not recognize the file properly ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JPEG_File_Interchange_Format#Exif_comparison )
What the consequences of having your work in the JFIF format are? It appears that Behance doesn’t fully support the JPEG JFIF - for example it cannot read its ICC data correctly. The effect is that my work looses its quality! The only option to produce the JPEG EXIF I have now is to: Export *.ai file to JPEG (under Adobe Illustrator) > go to Photoshop > Create new project > Paste the *.jpg > and Sava As JPEG with icc embedded. This guarantees my files are being processed correctly.
I’ve started 2 discussions on this:

  • Help when I save file lines BLur

Hello I do not use AI very often a client sent me their logo in AI to add to their website.
The logo has a curved stroke around it, when I try to save the file as gif, png, jpeg etc the lines blur and look awful. I have no idea why or how to fix any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thank you
    Shontelle

Stuff for websites normally has to be 72 ppi, so fine lines can get pixelated like you describe.
Maybe you can marginally increase stroke weights just to get things to look better - probably no-one will notice.
It's probably better to copy your artwork to Photoshop/ImageReady rather than exporting from Illy. That way you can control things in pixel format from the start. It's a good idea to start with considerably more resolution than you need in the final file. That way you won't lose more than you absolutely have to.
If you are saving as gif you should take a look at the number of colours you are using. You can often sharpen things up by reducing the number of colours. You can also have a look at the kind of dither you want. You can often improve things by various tweaks there.
I'm not a great expert on this kind of work but this is the way I often do things. I somehow don't quite trust the Illy export options.

  • When I save files to iCloud....

....the time of the 'save' is eight hours behind UK time. I understand why, but can the save time be reset to reflect the 'real time' of saving in the UK?
It is irritating when I'm editing documents and says saved 'yesterday' instead of 'today'. I have to re-open the file to check that I've actually saved the edited file.

If you delete a document from iCloud, it will be deleted from ~/Library/Mobile Documents also. If you want a secure backup you should save a copy to the Computer.

  • Photoshop CS6 crashes all day, often when I save files.

Can someone help? I work on Mac OSX v10.8.2.  Full system/crash report.

Looks like your fonts/Extensis Font plug-in is causing the problem.
First, troubleshoot fonts and font caches to get rid of corrupt fonts and font caches, then if still crashing, disable your 3rd party plug-ins.

  • OSX - When I 'save all' attachments the resultant file name has %20 instead of spaces.

When I choose save all attachments from an Email the attachments are saved in the required directory but all files that have a space in the filename end up with a %20 instead of the space.
eg. attachment received "My new file.pdf" becomes "My%20new%20file.pdf" when saved into a directory.
This does not happen when I save each file individually. Which is my current workaround.
Any thoughts on how to solve this?
    Running Thunderbird 31.2.0 with Exquilla
I just checked whether it is something to do with Exquilla/Exchange. The problem I am seeing is with Emails to an Exchange account. I just forwarded an Email to another of my Email accounts and when I did 'save all' on the received attachments they saved without the %20. Which gives me another work around but...

I might be able to experiment with this a little.
Are you running a recent version of Outlook Web App (i.e., Exchange 2010)?
When you save files using IE, what format are they in (e.g., EML, RTF, HTML)?

  • Illustrator - save file problem

Illustrator 9.0.2 / Windows XP 5.1 : When in an Illustrator doc, when I do File Save, a dialog appears telling me a bit of useless info - "Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties" - seeing that the dialog tells one absolutely nothing about a solution ( ! ); when I look in Windows Explorer, anytime I get that message the file is shown as aad03108 or aad01272 or aab04020  (just noticed there seems to be a sequence when I have repeated the attempt to File Save; when I Save File As the same doc, it goes through the cycle OK; any ideas out there?  Thanks.

Are you saving to a network drive or a local drive?  And, did this just start happening?  I'd take a look at your scratch disk space.  Have you done any system maintenance like a defrag lately?  Just a hunch, but maybe you're running out of space for a decent preview save.

  • Missing Conref when I save and reopen an .xml file in FM9

I am running FM9 on Windows 7. We have been using the template and rules files shipped with FM9 and modifying them for our needs. Currently I am experiencing an issue and I'm not at all sure how to resolve it.
I have two pieces of DITA content, they are both reference files created by using the DITA menu and creating a new <reference> file. I have entered my structured content into the two files and I want to include a conref from the source document B into my document A. I insert the conref into document A using the FM DITA menu and save both files as .xml. The files save without any errors. When I open document A the conref text is missing and all that is left is a blank reference element (created by the insertion of the conref). If I open the source document everything is fine. I also have an xref in document A and that seems to be working fine. My coworker is having the exact same issue. I am referencing a reference element with an unordered list.
Also, if I save file A as .fm the conref stays which leads me to believe it has something to do with how FrameMaker is reading the .xml file.
    Any assistance would be appreciated,
    Laura

    Hi Laura...
If the "auto-load conrefs" option is off, your conrefs will not be rendered. This is "as designed" so that you can disable the conref updating if it's taking too long to rebuild all of the conrefs each time you open a file.. The "auto-load xrefs" option should work the same way, although this may have changed in FM9 since all xrefs are really "fm-xrefs" inside of FM. If the xrefs are rendering the same regardless of the option's setting, then that's a bug (I'd think).
So .. with the auto-load option enabled, your conrefs are working?
    Cheers,

  • Best practices for saving files when emailing to the media?

I'm pretty much an Ai imposter. I have Illustrator cs4 (14.0.0) and the way I use it is to cobble my designs together from iStock vector files and a lot of trial and error. Occasionally my husband throws me a lifeline because he is skilled with PhotoShop. As a small business owner, I am dying to find the time to take a course but right now I am just trying to float around the forums and learn what I can. Basically I flail about near the computer and the design sloooowly and somewhat mysteriously comes together. It's getting faster and is kind of fun, unless I get stuck.
This week I had a problem with an ad I designed for a very small community orchestra's printed programs. I send them a pdf first, and when they view it on their screens using inDesign they see the whole image but when it printed it omitted an element (a sunburst in the background). They thought it had something to do with that element being in color rather than greyscale (though there were other elements that survived and they were the exact same color so I was skeptical). I sent a greyscale file, no luck. I sent them the Ai file, but that apparently "crashed" their iD and now they believe I've sent a corrupted file. They aren't very adobe-savvy, either.
I've designed and emailed no fewer than 9 other ads to other print & online media organizations this year and never had a problem. The file looks fine to me in all versions I open/upload/email to myself.
You can see it here if you like: http://www.scribd.com/doc/27776704/RCMA-for-CSO-Greyscale
So here are my specific questions:
    1. How SHOULD I be saving this stuff? Is pdf the mark of a rookie?
    2. What settings should I be looking at when/before saving? I read about overprint, for example, and did try that with one of the versions I sent them to no avail. I don't really know what that does, so I was just trying a hail mary there anyway.
    Thanks for your time!

PDF is the modern way of sending files  but what you might want to do is in this case select the art in question and go to Object>Flatten Transparency
then save it as a pdf or as an ai file when sending the file to them zip it if they have windows based computers or stuffit if they have Mac actually zip is good for both.
It is safer to send it as an archive then as an ai file.

  • When I save a CS6 InDesign file as an .idml file InDesign crashes and sends a report to Adobe.

When I save a CS6 InDesign file as an .idml file InDesign crashes and sends a report to Adobe.
When I restart InDesign the .idml file is in the directory as well as a locked InDesign file.
I cannot open the .idml file, instead I get the message:
Cannot open "" file. Adobe InDesign maynot support the file format,
a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing,
or the file may be open in another location.
I can however open an InDesign .idml file that was saved from InDesign CC software.
InDesign CC software is also unable to open the .idml file that I created in CS6.

It seems to be a corrupted IDML file. Does it happen with every file or only with that one.
What is the content of that file? Did you embed images or graphics or did you ink them? Size?
Maybe that this would help you: Re: InDesign 6 is crashing when attempting to open a particular document. All others are opening OK.

  • Information is missing when I save responses as PDF forms

When I save a response as PDF, I only get 3 pages from the filled in response. While it should be 9 pages. One of the tables doe not continue on the next page. How can download the response exactly in the format form the design? Now I'm missing to much information.

    Hi Emma;
I am pretty sure that what you need to do for all of the content to fit properly in PDF is to use the "Page View" setting/mode on the Design tab (default view is "Web View" for web forms) and edit the content in that view to "fit".  The "Page View" view mode is to design/tweak the form to work in PDF, the changes made in "Web View" are still there including all features not supported in a PDF, but any Page Breaks added in either view are unique to that view, if you add a Page Break in Web View you will not see that in the PDF or Page View, if you add a Page Break in Page View it is only used in the PDF.
If you were to have used the "Save Submission Enabled PDF" button on the Distribute tab you would have seen an error that the content does not fit and it would have taken you into "Page View" on the Design tab where it would show you the content that would be cropped in a PDF.  We'll address the issue that this error does not come up when saving the response as a PDF form.
The view drop down selector is in the bottom right corner in the Design tab:
There are a few things you can do in Page View to get the content to work in PDF but not change the HTML/web form too much.  You can of course add page breaks, and you can break up large form fields, but you can also simply change the font size to get things to fit sometimes, or go into "File" - "Form Setup" and change the page size which will only affect the PDF and not the web form, a larger page will fit more content.
Hopefully this helps but let me know if this was not the solution to your form.
    Thanks,
    Josh
