  • My iphone will show 1% and then 0 and go off.  I can't turn it off again because it shows the battery is dead.  When I plug in the charger for 5 or 10 seconds,  it might show 40% battery.  When I unplug it,  I have 40%!!  Why does it go dead for no reason

My iphone 5 battery life at the most inconvenient times drains down till the phone turns off.  When I plug in the charger for just 5 or 10 seconds,  it will often show 35 - 45% left!  I unplug the charger immediately and I have 45% battery life!  That means I always have to have a charger with me in case it quits!  I can't always do that.

The % counter isn't always accurate.
I'd reset the phone, which might help make it more accurate. (press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears).
You might also try restoring the phone from a backup.

When i use my iPad charger for my iPhone, iPhone Is damaged?

it is highly unlikely that an iPad charger can cause damage to an iPhone - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4327. I have personally charged my 3GS with an iPad charger many times without any problem.

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.

  • Is there no way to hold the customer service department accountable when give wrong information and charged for it?

We have been loyal Verizon customers for almost a decade and have had nothing but great things to say about our service...until about 2 months ago. Two months ago my daughter moved out of state and decided to remove herself from our family plan, Before doing so, she call Verizon's customer service department to see when her contract was up. She wanted to keep her Verizon service until the end of her contract to avoid the termination fee. The service department assured her that her contract was already up and no termination fee would be charged. You can imagine my surprise when we were charged a $138 termination fee for her line on our next bill. I called customer service again and spoke with another representative (whose name I will not disclose) and was assured that the termination fee was a mistake and that I should simply not pay that portion of the bill and the charge would disappear on the next billing cycle. I did as she said and was shocked a few weeks later when I received a less than civil call from Verizon threatening to terminate my service the next day if I did not immediately pay the $138. My wife received a similar nasty message on her phone. I explained the situation to the rep on the phone, was told that the information my daughter and I received from 2 previous representatives was incorrect, and was told to pay immediately. My daughter and I went through all the proper channels to ensure no charges from termination fees, and both of us were given misinformation on 2 separate occasions. Is there any way to hold this company accountable for its mistake? I have been in sales all my life, and if an incorrect price is quoted, I have to honor the incorrect price, even if it costs me money. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had with any company, and I'm afraid that it will eventually cost Verizon not one but five long-time customers.

I shouldn't have to "chalk it up". This company, like other companies, should be held accountable for wrong information. We went through all the proper channels to ensure this wouldn't happen. I know this fee gets waived on a regular basis for a multitude of reasons. Moving nonwithstanding, I was told by two different people who had no knowledge that my daughter was moving that she owed nothing. If two different company employees tell me there will be no ETF, I will take them at their word. This should be good enough. What's the point of getting it reactivated if she can't use it where she lives now?

  • My iPhone 4 has been dead for 24 hours and it has been charging for 12 hours. I have tried holding the home and lock button down but it still has the black screen, what is wrong with it? It just randomly died on means won't turn back on

My iPhone 4 has been dead for 24 hours and I've been charging it for 12 hours and it still won't turn on. I have tried holding the lock button and home button down, even connected it to computer but nothing's happening, it randomly died on me.

    Hi Lauren,
When troubleshooting power issues, we want to make sure we have followed all steps outlined in the following article:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    - Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    - Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    - Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    - After at least 15 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
                   - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
                   - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    - If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
                   - If the display turns on, go to step 4.
                   - If the display remains black, go to next step.
    - Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to
restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
    - If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Do I need to buy a new charger for my MacBook Pro or have it check at apple store?

Take the computer with the charger to the Apple store and have it checked.
    Best.

  • Can i make use of the out of warranty replacement deal in the USA if im/my iphone is from Europe?

Well my iPhone 4 got water damage and looks dead to me, even putting it in a rice bag. So I read that there is an out of warranty replacement in the USA for $199. In a few days I'll be in the States... so I want to ask if it will be possible for me to get my European iPhone replaced in the US Apple Store?

Very, very unlikely as the iPhone warranty is generally valid only in the country of purchase.  The out of warranty replacement is also valid in Europe.  Just hop on down to your local Apple store for the exchange.

  • I called apple tech support cause my iphone 5 charger just stopped working. Aplle tech support said they can send me a new charger but why do they need credit card information if i have only had the the charger for 2 months and i have 1 year warranty?

I called apple support because my iphone 5 charger stopped working and they said they would send me a new charger but why do they need credit card information if every apple product has 1 year warranty?

    Hi CryyCorr33
Sound like they did what is called an express replacment. What apple does is they put a hold on your Credit Card for the amount of the cord because they are sending you the cord first. Then, once you receive the new cord in about 2-3 days, you'll put the defective cord in the box and ship it back out and when they receieve the defective one, they'll be able to remove that hold from you card.
I believe the reason behind the hold on your card is incase you don't return your defective one to them so they can find out the cause of the issue.
An Apple Retail Store could swap them out for you in store incase you happen to be near one. This requires no hold.
    Hope this helps

  • When i try to open my ipad.It says it needs more charging when its been on the charger for 3 hours already. Then every 3 minutes the apple logo would show up, then my lockscreen would flash then turn off.

    pleaase help me

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • When I send email from iphone, mail on my mac crashes every time.

The latest in a string of issues I've had with Mountain Lion, and even more with Lion. This is the latest and most frustrating.
Eveytime I send an email from iphone or ipad, mail on my macbook pro crashes. This happens everytime!
Also, Safari is unusable as keeps crashing and hardly ever loads properly so moved to Chrome which works perfectly.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Re: Charging for the first time - I have not connected yet to my Itunes, so can I just go ahead and plug it into an outlet and charge?

Can I charge my new Ipad for first time but just connecting it to a wall outlet, even though I have not yet registered it on my ITunes account?  If so, how long will it take for a complete charge?
    Thanks

Yes but it's not necessary to fully charge it the first time.

  • HT1657 I have been charged for a rental movie and have not purchased it can someone else hack into my iTunes account?

I have been invoiced for a movie that I haven't downloaded can you confirm when this was rented?

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
Have you checked the purchase history on your acocunt via the Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) drop-down menu option on your computer's iTunes ? If you didn't rent it, and nobody else has access to your account, then you can contact iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
