When I update my iPad and had to restore setting I lost any of the apps I had purchased, how do i get them back

When I upgrade my system for iPad 2 and set iTunes account, I was told I had to restore settings, after this was completed i noticed apps that I had purchased were gone. How do I get them back?

You can download apps again for free from the app store via the purchased tab at the bottom of the screen in the app store app. You must use the same Apple ID that you bought the apps with.
Are the apps still in iTunes on your computer? If they are - sync them back onto the iPad.

SADLY not as i downloaded an upgrad to my original PAGES/
i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......
and the same magic was supposed to happen in reverse.

if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.
Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

The point is not whether you used iTunes or iCloud to restore your new iPhone. It's whether you have Contacts turned on in Settings > ICloud. If you do on both your old iPhone and new iPhone then those devices are connected through iCloud. Deletions on one device are also made on the other.
You may be able to restore your Contacts be using your old device backup to restore your new iPhone again. Make sure that you turn Off ICloud functionality on your old iPhone before you delete anything else from it.

Are you sure you don't see them when you swipe to the left?
I actually had only one icon showing on the second page .... and then all of the rest showed up on pages 3, 4, etc.

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. However I managed to figure out how to recover - it's just a matter of moving them back to the bottom row 'dock' ! So it's actually very easy. I was 'thrown' by this unexpected development - don't know how it happened - but it's a 'non-issue' now. Hopefully my next post or question - if I have one - will be more 'substantive'!
