Where is tutorials

Do you have tutorial sections about JDeveloper and Java Server Faces like Sun have at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/index.jsp.
I think that JDeveloper is better, but we need more tutorials about how to use it with database, GUI building, etc.

Go to the JDeveloper home page at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev and click the tutorials link.
For JSF specific tutorials you might want to check out
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/jsf.html
and the ADF Faces page:

  • Where is tutorials.zip file and completedx.mxml?

    Hello,
    I am going through all of the lessons in the
    Flex2_Getting_Started.PDF file, and on page 191 where is begins
    talking about Data Services and the Data Management Service, the
    manual clearly references a tutorials.zip file containing

  • Any tutorials on how to make or edit tetxure images for 3d modeling?

    wondering if anybody knew where some tutorials are on this. when I crop an image say for an example a plank image even though the result ion is over 1k it still looks unclear. see how the one furniture image (2048 x 2048 ) looks clear compared to a cropped image that still has a resolution of 1845 x 395
    crop image

    You have to read up on how texturing actually works in the 3D program sense. You know, texture filtering settings, UV parametrization and whatnot. You image probably looks soft because you are forcing it to expand to the full UV range. You will need to tweak you actually mapping just as much as the image.

  • Tutorials in inspiration browser

    I see that inspiration browser was discontinued in March 2013.  I had bookmarked four tutorials for reference.  One that I remember was a place in Australia that they used a difference blend mode to put two exposures together, one underexposed and one overexposed and created a great picture.  Does anyone know where these tutorials are located?  Or are they gone forever?

    Have you tried posting in the Photoshop.com forum? It's doesn't have an icon but is listed in the pull down search box.

    Sorry, that I'm no real help but at least your post will get bumped up to the top of the list.

  • Where to download Creative Suite CS6 Tutorial & Manuals

    I'm finally able to take time to learn the programs in CS6 but have no idea where the tutorials or manuals are. I've checked all the folders that relate to Adobe CS6 and nothing. the online instructions and pop-up warnings while I'm working in the programs tell me to use controls and settings that I can't find.
    Can I just download the manuals so I can browse them at leisure. I don't always have an internet connection, so online manuals aren't going to do the trick. Besides, they are no help in learning my way around these programs.

    Download the trial from http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
    Ensure that you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the links will not work.
    Activate the trial with your serial number.

  • A small tutorial on wireless connectivity: Input a...

    I recently acquired a nokia 5530XM phone and I've been fiddling around with connecting it to the internet wirelessly. Being at university however presented me with a unique challenge. My internet has a wireless network card and is also served internet via a wired network connection, whereas all tutorials I've encountered assume the connection is received by a USB modem. This meant that I could not use internet connection sharing to provide internet to my phone through the computer. This appears to be a feature only supported by server versions of windows. After many hours of experimentation, I came up with the following solution:
    Connecting your phone wirelessly to internet through a computer, when that computer receives it's internet through another network connection
    For various reasons, you may not have a wireless router to serve the internet connection to your phone, or you may be unable to use one for whatever reason. I will outline some common scenarios:
    1) You are at a university or office and have a computer with a wireless connection that receives it's internet through another network connection.
    2) You only possess a router that lacks wireless networking capabilities, but have a computer connected to the router with wireless capability.
    If this is the case, internet connection sharing WILL NOT work to provide internet to your phone. This requires features available only in the server versions of windows.
    This tutorial was executed successfully using a nokia 5530XM, with a computer running windows XP SP3. All that is required from the phone is the ability to connect to an ad hoc windows network and to configure proxy settings.
    Firstly, ensure that your computer has two network cards (one wired and one wireless), and you are connected to the internet through the wired connection.
    Next, you will need to configure your wireless network adapter. Follow the instructions here to configure your wireless adapter in ad hoc mode. Assign an SSID that is short and easy to remember, In this case I'm using "test". Also ensure that the preferred networks box is BLANK before you start.
    Now, pick up your phone and goto settings > connectivity > wireless LAN > other (hidden netw.). Type the SSID of your new ad hoc connection. It should sucessfully connect. Please note that at this time I have been unable to get this to work properly when the network is encrypted. You will have to disable encryption in the wireless network properties dialog.
    We can now move on to setting up the proxy server. Download freeproxy from this link (I suggest version 4):
    Freeproxy
    Install freeproxy and open the control centre. Double click on the top line, it should read "proxy | internet | protocol:..."
    A box will pop ups allowing you to change various settings. Change local binding to your wireless network adapter and remote binding to your wired network adapter.
    This is also a good time to grab the local IP address of you PC. Note down the IP next to the "local binding" drop down box (mine reads 169.254.97.105). You can check if this works by typing "http://yourlocalip:8080" into a webbrowser. Don't be alarmed about the error it throws up, we're just not talking to the proxy server properly at this time.
    If you see a page titled "error report by freeproxy", then congratulations, your proxy server is working!
    This is probably the last step. Grab your phone and navigate to settings > connectivity > destinations > internet. Click on your new access point (it should be listed as we connected to it before at the start). Now click on options > advanced options and scroll down to "proxy server address". Type in the local IP you got from freeproxy. In "proxy port number" type 8080.
    In order to watch youtube videos, you will need to configure realplayer the same way. Head to applications > realplayer > options > settings > streaming > proxy. Set "use proxy" to yes and configure the two options exactly as before.
    Fire up the internet and select a webpage and your network connection (you may have to use "search for WLAN" ). If all is well, you should see the website you wanted to visit. Congratulations, you just configured internet through your PC!
    I would appreciate some testing of this, as well as assistance with getting encryption to work properly. Having only had the phone since monday, I'm still not familiar with all its features .

    Uday,
      We can do it .See the below concept
    INPUT.
    This key word will only be supported for a limited period (for the sake of compatibility with R/2). Instead, please use FORMAT INPUT (see FORMAT ) or the addition ... INPUT of the WRITE statement.
    Ex :
    REPORT demo_list_format_input.
    WRITE   'Please fill in your name before printing:'.
    WRITE / '   Enter name here    ' INPUT ON.
    ULINE.
    WRITE 'You can overwrite the following line:'.
    FORMAT INPUT ON INTENSIFIED OFF.
    ULINE.
    FORMAT INPUT OFF INTENSIFIED ON.
    This will work for your requirement.

  • What's your strategy for learning Java technologies?

    Or, in other words, how do YOU acquire knowledge that is necessary for implementing Java technologies?
    After having spent one-and-a-half years developing an enterprise app, I've gained lots of knowledge about Java and some surface knowledge about its related technologies (JBoss, Hibernate, Ant, XDoclet, NetBeans and probably some others I can't think of at the moment).
    I'm now realizing that -- although the standalone prototype version of my program is growing mature -- I've still got lots to learn for refactoring it to a web platform. For example, I 've done small test projects using Servlets, but haven't done any work with JSP (or HTML for that matter) yet.
    Now, I'm sure I can learn JSP etc., but the questions I ask myself are: how long will it take?
    It's a rhetorical question of course (I don't expect an answer from you, the reader) However, it's an important issue because the months or years I spend fumbling around learning these new technologies, are time I could otherwise spend on the business logic and functionality of my program.
    So, how do you guys acquire knowledge of technologies? Official training perhaps? Or do you simply experiment until it works? Or do you rely on your company's knowledge base (e.g. someone in your company knows how it works)? Or do you get prototypes built from someone who already knows how it works?
    Im really curious about this and would appreciate your thoughts.
    Thanks in advance,
    P

    Well, it seems like most of you simply read the
    various texts and try the vendors' examples. I'm
    surprised that no one mentioned ever having bought a
    prototype application from the onset. "bought"? What's that mean? You don't buy prototypes. You download evaluation versions, maybe.
    I try to find sample code and tweak it to see the effects. Otherwise, I start writing small sample code an build on that.
    I consider myself a reasonably competent core Java
    programmer, but I had serious difficulty configuring
    and merging its related technologies. There were so
    many disjointed pieces of instructional information
    that the additional research time really hurt our
    budget severely. Not an uncommon thing, I'm sure. There's a lot of stuff. But don't bother learning all of it. Not in detail, at least. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the names of packages/libraries and what they do. But only really learn what you need to learn for what you need to do. The next project you will probably need other things, so you learn them then.
    bsampieri,
    I've setup Tomcat and tried the examples--in fact, I
    normally follow tutorials for all products I hope to
    use. Problem is, the examples and tutorials never
    address my specific needs. So, I usually inch toward
    my goal by spending weeks or months in forums to
    continue where the tutorials leave off. Anything complex is going to not be there.... the trick is to identify pieces that you can pull out to build more complex apps. And the fact that JSP/servlets have the issue of being compounded by all the HTML/CSS/JS and HTTP protocol ... I don't want to say limitiations, exactly... Well, it just makes things more complex and harder to know what you need.
    Perhaps you guys are much faster and smarter than
    I...or you have a much bigger budget :)Probably not... on either account.

  • Finding file within directory

    I'm currently using InDesign CS5.5
    I have an automation script I wrote for datamerge in javascript but I've had trouble finding any references to searching for files with javascript. I'm well aware you can't in javascript for the web but there is server side scripting but can't find where any tutorials are online.
    What im trying to acheive is this line here... but in javascript.
    var rootName = app.doScript('set theFile to (do shell script "ls /Path/To/Folder")', ScriptLanguage.APPLESCRIPT_LANGUAGE);
    now to explain why im using this incase anyone wants this or wants to know... this will give me a list of filenames in a directory..
    I then apply..
    var filename = rootName.split('.').reverse().slice(1).reverse().join('.');
    which strips everything but the name of  the file without the extension.
    Part of my program is.. each csv file that comes in will not have the same name so I use this to get the name and then later apply it to my datasource and for saving out the PDF.
    I'd appreciate if anyone can help me acheive looking for a file within javascript or if they could send me a link to where some documentation is.
    I have tried using getFiles("*.csv") but I get errors.. when I slap an alert after getting the file it shows the file with the entire path and I can't use slice because it doesn't do anything. literally it doesn't slice. This is why I was using applescript. I'm not sure if its more efficient or not to use Javascript for this or Applescript just would like to keep it all one language.
    Eventually I'd like to figure out how to set up a for function or some sort of count to grab only 1 file at a time in the case that 2 files make it to the directory.
    Also if anyone wants the code to do a datamerge and save out to pdf I'll gladly post.
    Thanks

    filename = fetch_me_a_file ("*.csv");
    if (filename == null)
    alert ("No file found, or user canceled");
    else
    alert (filename);
    function fetch_me_a_file (mask)
    var fileList = Folder.myDocuments.getFiles(mask);
    if (fileList.length == 0)
      alert ("No files found");
      return null;
    if (fileList.length == 1)
      return fileList[0].name;
    var selectedFile = Folder.myDocuments.openDlg("Fetch me a file", mask);
    // Canceled?
    if (selectedFile == null)
      return null;
    return selectedFile.name;
    I was wondering if and how your Split Off Filename line worked, but decided to use this RegExp instead:
    name = filename.replace(/^.+\//, '');
    (replacing everything before and including the final forward slash with nothing) but then I thought, wait a minute. The 'object' returned by both getFiles and by openDlg is not actually a file name -- even though JS conveniently translates it to a fully qualified path when asked --, it's a file object. And a regular File object has this useful property 'name': that's just the file name.

  • Spreadsheet column addition

    Hi, please forgive my naivity as I am a very new user.
    I have 4 spreadsheets with 8 columns each.  What I want to do is simply add together in each spreadsheet columns 1 - 2, 3 - 4, 5 - 8.
    Once each spreadsheet now has 3 columns I would like to combine all spreadsheets to form 1 output (total of 12 columns).
    My main difficulty is choosing the right array function to select individual columns and also be able to form the 3 column output from this  .
    Any help would be greatly appreciated   I realise that this is probably really easy but I have got no where with tutorials and my help book.
    Thanks

    to index column. you must use 'index array' function. you will mouse over that function until you see the cursor change character to 'expander'. for a 2-d array, expand the function by 1. to select just a column, wire a number to the newly expanded terminal. when index array is expanded the top down order is row, column, etc. the number of indec terminals wired determines the dimension of the output of the function.

  • Compositing interior and exterior

    Using RAW images, where can tutorials be found for compositing interior shots with a view out a window?
    TIA

    Whether you can do it in real time depends on things like the processor speed, video frame size/rate, and complexity of the compositied graphics. To use JMF, you will have to write a codec to modify the video stream as it's being displayed (you can base it on Sun's FrameAccessCodec example). The codec would receive each frame as a JMF Buffer, convert it to a BufferedImage which you can use Java2D to draw on, convert it back to a Buffer, and pass it on for display.
    Other approaches, such as drawing the graphics on a panel over the movie may not work reliably due to heavy/lightweight component conflicts.

  • UFT and Peoplesoft Addin

    Hi,
    I've started using the Peoplesoft Addin for UFT 12.00 obviously for Peoplesoft testing.
    I'm having difficulty with the "Considerations for Working with the PeopleSoft Add-in" on page 261 of the Addin Guide (hp_man_uft12-00_addinsguide_pdf). For example,"When learning PSFrame objects, or Web pages containing PSFrame objects, the following child objects are automatically filtered out and are not added to the object repository:", although I can see this happening in the Object Repository.
    I was wondering if there where any Tutorials, Videos or Code Examples of Peoplesoft testing to assist me.
    Thanks
