White box at beginning of movie
I have an animated header that is 750 X 150. When I open up
the site where I have it, a white box of that same size flashes on,
then the movie plays. How can I get rid of the white box?
Thanks, Brad

Most of the questions in here has been asked before, it is
simply counter productive to post
replies to same topics over and over again. The forum is
filled up with extra data and it become
more tedious for you to allocate any thread. If you web based
user, you need to go back few pages
to find your original post. For News Server users,
unnecessary threads to download.
Wasting bandwidth.
Not to mention wasting the participants time. Why ? because
instead of entertaining your problem
which could be really urgent (deadline), we will be dealing
with posts which should not be here in
the first place only because the user is too lazy to do his
half and prefer everything server
on a silver platter. We take the threads by the order they
come thinking each is equality urgent
and important. It makes you wait longer as we shuffle through
more than 200 posts each day.
Again, waste our time to post same things over and over again
rather than focus on unique issues
that hasn't been yet documented.
Adobe also put huge resources into making online
documentation and maintaining the knowledge base
as well as forums. People type that stuff for a reason and
its pure waste not to try to find it
but ask for someone else to point it to you.
Last not least, the forum posting policies clearly state that
it should be your last
resource after exhausting available documentation from
attached help files, online forum
archives, read me files etc...
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/guidelines.html
Please familiarize yourself with the following resources
before posting in the forums:
* The printed documentation for your product.
* Check the ReadMe documents which ship with your software
for late-breaking technical information.
* The support area for your product.
* Search Adobe's support areas. Adobe's TechNotes are online
and searchable along with other product
information.
* Adobe product pages for the latest product information.
By posting here, every user agreed to respect and follow the
rules. It's not a nazi camp and no
one will chase you with a stick and police you to obey. We
expect common sense and common
decency and some understanding of some basic social dynamics,
as we all here for a the same reason.
Respect people who help you and make it easier for us to help
you.
For me personally, and I don't speak on behalf of anyone
else, it always seem very selfish.
A user needs attention and someone else time just because he
can't be bother to do a little search.
It takes seconds to find stuff, if you can't afford that, why
should we bother to help you ?
You might be new to flash but soon you become more and more
efficient, comfortable enough to start
using it to make living. Than you get a job and a client who
wants it on time. As banal as it seem
now, trust me, you will find it very frustrating that no one
answer your question in 5 days
only because we keep posting "how to open URL from a button",
300 of these every week, than 500 of
the Activation issue with IE and about 100 "pop Up" related
and more and more of these coming each
day while your posts get pushed further and further away.
Anyway,
You have a nice day Realtoast :)
See you around

Flash movie just has a white box when previewed
Working in Flash CS4
My question is when I publish my flash movie it opens fine on my computer but when I copy the folder with all the contents to another computer the skin show up fine but I get a white box where the movie should be. The same goes if we try to place it on a website. Files are available here to view

I have taken a look at your .fla and seems your source file name is not matching with what is available(Bob_Dickson.f4v) & what is specified(Bob Dickson InterviewH264.f4v) in the Component Inspector panel. Either rename your movie from "Bob_Dickson.f4v" to "Bob Dickson InterviewH264.f4v" probably the easiest way or change the Source name for your flv playback component in Component Inspector panel to "Bob_Dickson.f4v" and re-publish the swf.
Hope this helps
Thanks!

Empty Movie Clip Shows White Box before Movie Loads
Hi all!
I created a type of slide show template that imports external
swfs. Everything works, but the client doesn't like the white box
created by the empty movie clip that appears before the external
swf loads. Does anybody know how to get rid of this? Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated!

Swf won't play after uploading - white box
I've posted a couple of previous times and gotten nothing but
dead air, so I'm still trying to find a way to get flash movies to
just play on a web site. Is it that hard? I hate flash. Why doesn't
it just work?
I'm trying to put a video gallery up and currently have eight
.swf video clips that all begin downloading simultaneously when the
page is opened, hogging bandwidth that should be reserved for
whatever one video the user chooses. I can't find a way to keep the
clips from downloading until the user clicks the play button. And I
can't put a buffer delay in. Everything I can find on a buffer in
Flash says to change the BufferTimer in the components inspector.
But I HAVE NO BUFFERTIMER IN THE COMPONENTS INSPECTOR!! I've got
Align, AutoPlay, CuePoints, etc., but no BufferTimer! I swear I
must have a faulty version of Flash CS3.
So I'm trying to get around it by using a gallery of images
that link to individual pages with one .swf file. It all tests fine
on my local machine, but once it's uploaded, the gallery images
pull up pages with a big fat white box where the .swf should be.
What gives?
And while I'm ranting about the difficulties of Flash, I'll
rave about the ease of use of Dreamweaver. Why can't Fl be more
like Dw? ie, coding not required. I've been trying to wrestle this
Flash gallery into reality for more than a week and I'm on the
verge of reverting back to embedded Quicktime files.
BTW, does anyone know of a Flash forum people actually? I
haven't gotten a response at Creative Cow or here.
Sorry for the rant; I'm at my wit's end.I am having the very same problem. When I post the swf file
and call it up, all I see is a white box with my play button and
stop button at the bottom. Both of these buttons work and it looks
fine once you hit the play button. But I want the swf to come up to
the first frame which should be a picture of a person -- not the
white box!
Did you ever find out how to fix this problem? I'd be ever so
grateful to get help on this one.
Thanks! -
Every now and then, a weird white box with a keyhole, gear, and lock pops up in the upper left of my screen. I can't seem to close it or move it, and when I try to use another application, it stays there and blocks features. The only way I've found to make it go away is by force closing Firefox. Why does it pop up and how do I close it? I'm on an iMac, Snow Leopard. Have the latest version of Firefox, 10.0.2.
Here's a screenshot of the box: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6819/screenshot20120302at821.pngStart Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

White box around png images in Final Cut Express 4.0
I was putting in some muzzle flashes into my video with final cut express 4.0, they were png images and there was a white box around the muzzle flash after i used the composite mode screen effect, if anybody knows what the problem is i could use the help.
I inserted a 3D bullet into my movie and it had a black background. I used Composite Screen and it it worked, but it made the bullet slightly transparent. What should I do?

White box under Loader Component
I am using the Loader Component to load my images as they are
viewed in my file.
Most of my images are ok, but some have a white box
underneath of them.
I'll have an image that is like 300 pixels wide and 100 tall,
but it looks like a 100 wide by 200 tall white box is behind the
image. It does this with random images using the Loader COmponent.
any ideas what is up or how to fix it?weird solution. i copied all of my keyframes into a new
document and when testing the movie the box problem does not
appear.

White box of death! Trouble embedding swf into Dreamweaver!
So close to being finished! I notice this question on alot of other forums but its never resolved!
here is the site now:
http://http://www.andrewweeksphotogr...m/index_8.html
you will notice a slight flash of a white box before the preloader starts, i'm trying everything to make it go away! this box seems to be the same size as my embedded swf. the site and preloader are all in one swf. all i need to do is make that white box the same color as the background so it is unnoticeable.
here is the code from dreamweaver (you'll notice im sticking in color values wherever i can!)
help a gal out! many thanks!

White Box appears for a second before loading (Preloader?)
Hello,
This is my second post in 2 days (sorry). I am working with
Flash MX. I am building a site and I have build a template of sorts
(menu layout & background image). I was originally going to try
to load external swf (which was yesterday's issue and now resolved)
but it didn't quite give me the effect I was looking to achieve.
So, I am now linking to each page using flash buttons. I drop
a .swf it's own HTML page (home, contact, etc.). I am not sure if
this is the best way to do it, but it has worked in the past.
However, I am getting a white box where the swf sits as I navigate
from page to page.
Is this because I need a preloader? I have the background
color in my .fla file set to black. If not, how do rid of the box?
Thanks.Hey, I couldn't wait to try this out. I pasted your code in
and I am still having the issue. Maybe it's just the way I have set
this up. I like having individual swf on each page. Not sure where
to go from here. I really do appreciate all your help in sticking
with my issue. Sorry if I am misunderstanding things. As I learn, I
want my work to look professional.
Also, at what point do I use a preloader? Is it always
needed?

In imovie '08 in the viewing screen there is a white box behind my video instead of it showing in the whole screen like it used to. Even when i try to play the movie in full screen that white box is still behind the movie. I dont know what setting I changed or why now all of a sudden this box appears. Please help if you know how to change it back. Thank you.

For some reason, lately iTunes has become a white box at times. I don't know how better to describe it. It seems to happen when I am syncing with my iPhone. The entire iTunes window goes white, although I can still see the menus above (File, Edit, Controls, etc.). When this happens, I am unable to close the window using Cmd-w or minimize using Cmd-m. My only option is to quit and reopen, at which point iTunes opens normally. Any suggestions?
I have the same or similar issue, now that I've upgraded to iTunes 8 on my iMac G5.
Most recently I pulled up a movie from Finder, which launched iTunes, and it started playing fine. However, iTunes seemed to get confused at some point and changed the mode of play, it launched a full size window with the movie playing. I resized the window to make it smaller, in the background the iTunes application was replaced with whitespace. I could not get rid of the whitespace or make iTunes reappear. The movie continued to play fine. Eventually I quit iTunes.
Note: I upgraded QuickTime before installing iTunes 8. -
White box? SWF shows as white box in Dreamweaver
The SWF starts animating, but a white box will show for a
second and motion starts on /home.
on /portfolio and its lower levels the buttons showup but the
graphics dont...
Im a noob, but I know the home page is only 48k, so I wouldnt
guess size is an issue...
linkFTP it and include dependent files. Make sure the Scripts
folder and script
are on the server.

HTML = Invisible / SWF = White Box
This is really freakin' me out. Working on a simple movie
that I want as a simple introduction index page, I am having no
problem getting it to work offline.
Now the moment I load it on to the server I get one of two
things. If I published it HTML I get an invisible page, or if I
publish it SWF I get a white box.
As for the invisible page, when I right click over the area
the movie should be I still get the "About Flash 9" window.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

It sounds like the HTML is correctly preparing the way for
the SWF --
that is, it includes the <object>/<embed> tag
combo, and/or the JavaScript
that writes those for you on the fly -- but the SWF file
itself is either
missing or not in the place specified by your code.
