MY BIONIC IS COMPLETELY AND HAS BEEN FOR QUITE SOMETIME. YOU NAME IT, I HAVE TRIED TO GET IT POWER BACK ON. I HAVE NEW BATTERY, PLUG VIA USB, USED WALL CHARGER, PRESS & HOLD POWER/VOLUME. CALLED MOTOROLLA, TOO AND THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP. THANK YOU

I don't know if this will help but recently my niece game me her old Droid 2 Global that was dead and no matter what she tried it would not come back on. If it was plugged in it would blink either a red or white light and the screen would flash. I plugged it in for several hours and when my husband moved it he said it "powered down". Since I had not been able to see anything except a flashing screen I didn't think he knew what he was referring to. Ultimately I determined it was a bad charging port. I plugged the device back in and played with the charging cord until the screen stayed on. Now the device is fully charged and works fine, well except that you have to play with it when you plug it in to get it to charge.

I am using the G Drive Slim to back up my files, but I don't know how to tell if or when it is finished. The white light does not change, flicker, go out, etc. When is it finished?

The whole story: The hard drive on my quite new Mac Book Pro, bought in December of 2011, crashed and burned in the Fall of 2012. I purchased a new hard drive and was informed that the only way I could have saved my "stuff" was to back it up with an external hard drive. Who knew?? I bought a G Drive Slim at the Apple store, and on their advice. BUT I really don't understand how to use it, and the instructions are completely inadequate. How can you tell when it is finished? I have educated myself on the proper way to eject the Drive, but I don't know how to tell if it is done. Or, frankly, if it is even doing anything. The white light burns steadily, no blinking, no flickering. Nothing. Thanks for help.

are you backing up files, or doing a Time machine backup, either way, the Time machine will STOP when finished and show "last backup at XXXXXX" meaning its done...... OR if when transferring files, it will show a progress bar on your desktop and vanish when files are copied.
Open up the Hitachi drive (your G drive is made by Hitachi, and the best made by the way).....and see if the files are there.
a MORE VISUAL way is to open the hard drive file, and drag and drop files INTO the Gdrive and you can see them visually be copied there as you do it.
To see your HD on your desktop GOTO FINDER......PREFERENCES....then GENERAL TAB.........check the box marked HARD DRIVES.........then your Gdrive will appear on your desktop........open it from there, and DRAG and drop files from anywhere INTO the Gdrive....... easy visual way to see the files being copied into the Gdrive.

If so then you may need to take it to Apple.

HT1600 I have Apple TV version 7.4.2 and we pressed on the remote the select button and the menu button at the same time to update our software. The box shows white light, we can get the screen to select netflix but nothing will move and the box will not

I have Apple TV version 7.4.2. We read in a blog that in order to reset our Apple TV we should press the menu button and the select big button at the same time which we did. Now when we attempt to turn on the apple tv box it with the remote we get a white light and sometimes we can get the menu screen but the remote will not let us move now will it allow us to turn the apple tv on or off. If we just leave it alone, the white light eventually goes away. I did unplug the apple tv and we removed the batteries and reinstalled them from the remote and that did not make any difference. Please advise.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

I am unable to set my WD mybook world edition (white light) for time machine.

I have new iMac running OS X Mavricks 10.9 and a WD mybook world edition (white light) connected via eithernet to router.
I am unable to set up time machine using this drive.
I can see the MyBookWorld drive in Finder and read and write files with no problems. I can also see the MyBookWorld_Backup drive but I am unable to connect.
Time machine can see the drive but when I select, use drive, it trys to connect and gives me an error message: There was a problem connecting to the server "MyBookWorld-Backup"
I have already updated the hardrive firmware.
Any ideas?

Which is basically Western Digital informing you that their out-of-date utilities don’t support Mavericks.
In any case those utilities are not the most effective. The moral of the story is: the first thing you should do after buying a WD drive is to format it as HFS Extended (Journaled) and not install ANY of their utilities but instead use reliable applications like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper - or Time Machine.

Sometimes I cannot get my apple tv to work after being in sleep mode. I then have to turn the power on and off to make it work. Note the white light will come one when I try and wake it up. But, the light will not blink.

Most of the time when I wake up my apple tv, the white light will come on, but will not blink when I have this problem. I then have to pull the plug and then put the plug back in the socket, then it will work.

How long have you had it? If it is still under warranty, you can have Apple help you out completely. If it is not under warranty, Apple might still be able to send you articles to assist you in this manner. Check "Contact Us" on any page at the bottom.

In that case if you've already tried unplugging from power, waiting for a minute or so and restarting and nothing helps, you probably ned to factory restore via iTunes:

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

Imac starts with a black screen and flashing white light on console

I have a 24" imac, it is white and it is from the first year they used the intel chip. When I power it up I get a black blank screen and then the white light on the lower right side of the console flashes on and off. I hear the disk drive spin (I put the 10.4 install disk in ) and it does nothing. How do I get the disk out. I even tried holding down the mouse button at start up and that doesn't work.
I tried to remedy this myself by resetting pram. I have taken out memory and put it back in. I have been able to get it running twice before by taking out memory and putting it back in but it only worked for a little while and then I turned it off and went to turn it back on and same problem again. Is this a logic board problem or something else. I think I read if it was the logic board the disk drive wouldn't work but I hear it spinning.
Can anyone help me?

That has all the classic signs of unseated, improperly seated or bad RAM.
Laying the iMac face down on a soft towel and reseat the module(s) by pressing real hard on each one with both thumbs, then closing the ejector clips and replacing the cover.

That normally indicates an issue with system memory. The startup sequence can't complete the boot due to a memory issue. Take it in for service.

White light, no display or startup

So I'm deep into the trail of tears with my MBP 2.4 a1229. I very cleverly spilled some hot tea on my display which essentially killed it. 2/3 dead but everything else worked. I hooked it up to an external monitor and used it for a few days while waiting for replacement parts. No problems with the functionality of the computer at all. I ended up replacing the display and the keyboard. Upon reassembly there were a couple issues. The display worked and the keyboard worked but the computer wouldn't automatically sleep when you closed the cover. The screen would stay lit with it shut and just go to sleep after the designate time. I didn't think this was a huge issue and was just going to take it apart again once I got the time and see where i missed something. Well 4 days after the initial repair I put the computer to sleep before I went to bed and tried to wake it up in the morning. White light in the front is on but no one is home. I have powered it up and down a number of times. the drive spins up but there is nothing on the screen, no start up tone at all and no action other wise. I have tried an external monitor without success. I've reset PMU, changed seating and reseated RAM and tried with and without the battery. Researching i've found a number of issues that might fit like the logic board but the delay in the issue and the sleep problem make me wonder if it's not something simpler. Anyone think this might be some sort of hinge or sleep sensor issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Just as a note, I'm 4 hours from the nearest apple store so...

The sleep sensor consists of a reed switch and a magnet. The magnet should be on the edge of the display--you can usually find it with a paperclip. I think we may have the same Mac, and on mine the magnet is on the right side of the display a little over halfway up. When you close the lid, the reed switch would be in the corresponding spot under the top case near the optical drive.
My guess is that the reed switch could be malfunctioning or broken, especially since the computer wouldn't sleep when you closed the lid. Either that, or the magnet was missing or out of place. It's also possible its cable was damaged.

Strange white light appearing when password input required on specific apps... Locked apps.
It is a thick white line) appearing momentarily on upper left side of my screen.
This only appears briefly as specific apps are opening up .....only on apps where a password is required,(locked apps) like password managers, Apple App Store, etc.
(this is a little troubling… And I'm wondering about the security of my phone now)
I'm using iPhone 5s with latest iOS 7.1 This only started after the latest iOS update!

Apple has no idea what this is… They're only suggestion was to wipe the phone clean and reinstall from the last backup! If that doesn't work, they would replace the phone.
Before I have to do this, I'm wondering if this could be a phone app doing this, or the iOS or something easily explained/ remedied?
Any ideas?

How to turn the pulsating white light off?

We bought a 1.25Ghz PowerMac G4 around July 2004. It was one of the last production units of that model. We also bought a 17" display at the same time (which is why I'm posting here even though I'm not sure of the exact model.)
The display in question has a 1440x900 resolution and does noyt have a separate power button. When the PM goes to sleep 9or the display) the white light pulsates, getting brighter and darker at regular intervals.
Is there any way to disable this light when either the display or the computer is asleep?

If you mean the lock screen then to remove this just do a few quicks taps the lock screen button and this will remove the play and pause button from the lock screen. Or alternatively you could try the following application:
