White screem with black lines
Hi
We have a 3g iphone and my husband dropped it today. It now is just showing a white screen with black lines to the right hand side. Have tried to reboot with home and off button but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?
Possibly the LCD Display Connector #1 is loose and needs to carefully be pushed back firmly to the Logic Board. Possibly the LCD Display is damaged and needs to be replaced. Possibly the Logic Board LCD circuitry is damaged, and you basically need a new iPhone.

You can work through the five 5 R's of troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of corrupted software.

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.

Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity. A third party service will actually replace the damaged part for a little less. Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

I can turn off the device naturally. But when i turn it on it shows all white with black lines and different colors. Is my LCD screen broken? If it is, can apple fix it?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

All I have on my I pod touch is a white screen with multicolored lines going across screen. What do I need to do. I can't use I tunes because it says I have to have passcode and can't get screen to come up. I have already tried holding both keys down.
- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow a restore.. It bypasses the passcode (and erases the iPod)
- Next try DFU mode

this happened today suddenly while i was working on my iPad it kicked my out of the app that i was using then white screen with black apple logo came out, i thought it was an ordinary thing cause this happens all the time with me, but this time it refused to turn on! After the white screen with the black logo vanished i wad waiting for my lock screen but no, a black screen showed up just like that! If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is 100%. If it doesn't start up make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. They will examine your iPad and explain your options.

my i phone 5 was dropped, didn't break but went completerly black screen and nonresponsive. I pushed both the home button and top button no response. I plugged it to the computer it gave me white screen with black apple. I pushed the home and the top went black then gave the itune and the charging plug picture. I tried to download and update, the message came as couldn't restore due to unknow error. Any help??

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Are you referring to the *Do Not Disconnect* screen display while your iPod is plugged into and syncing with iTunes? Check out this Apple support document for its meaning and why you are receiving this icon. This icon always appears when you are syncing your iPod with iTunes. It's basically a warning message telling you that the iPod is currently in use and should not be removed.

Pages is sending my documents in docx format, but windows unable to open them. They arrive blank or can only be read as a single line at a time. When viewed prior to sending, the document is divided with black lines after each sentence.
Windows will only be able to open these if you have Word 2007+. Older versions of Word, for example Word 2003 would require a compatibility pack.
Perhaps you can try 'Saving As' a different file type instead?

You can go into the settings and make the fonts bigger, also in the accessibility, make the contrast better and fonts bolder.
There is also the 'invert colors' but it's not the best thing since it inverts everything.
unfortunately this doesn't seem to be a good update for those with visual issues.

For some reason my MacBook no longers provides me with the reserve battery alert when I'm nearly running out of battery. Instead it simply shuts itself off with no warning, i have also noticed that it occurs around the 30% mark. Any ideas?
