Who Runs This Forum

i am told that this forum is not run by BT. Yet it has the BT logo. And Sages on here post tens of thousands of posts. It's almost like they are employed to do it. What is going on. Come on, this is a BT run forum isn't it?

This is a customer to customer self help forum posts made here do not go to BT although the forum is moderated by BT not every post is read and posts do not go to BT directly

    I post a questions, the first reply start off with "You are wasting your time" and clearly does NOT answer my questions. I reply to that saying I have higher expectations for Apple than other cheaper products.
    My post gets deleted for not meeting community guidelines, and the above post which INSULTED my initial question, is marked as 'Answered my question'
    So my question for this post is - who runs this? Apple or some volunteers? Marking a post as 'Solved Problem' on my behalf that tells me "You are wasting your time" is not usefull!
    At this point I'd like to delete the original posit since clearly "I'm wasting my time" on here.

    Actually, it does answer your question. Maybe not all that politely, but it is correct. Like virtually any other such device (iPad, Blackberry, Samsung), Apple does not make their own batteries. They get them from the same very few suppliers as everyone else. And like all such "performance" claims by manufacturers, they are based on absolute best circumstances and use. Typical use will not yield those results.

    Apple owns and operates these boards. Other users handle almost 100% of the questions. Rarely will you see an Apple employee posting an answer. Of those, it is almost always one of the hosts explaining something related to the use of these boards, not an answer to a technical question.

    Well, only you can do that. No one else, not even the hosts can in any way mark a post Solved or Helpful. Only the person who started a topic can. So in the case of the only other topic under your name, you awarded the Solved and Helpful points. Therefore, your claim of someone else doing so "on your behalf" isn't possible.

    I have been unable to find a contact to send you a message.
    On the page of this discussion that lists the headers of all the topics, at the bottom after the last topic on the page, a link is offered named "More". On clicking this, a second page appears (and then later pages), continuing the list of topics. When I select a topic on the second (or third) page and reply to it, I am automatically returned to the first page. I than have to scroll down to the bottom, press the More link again, and hunt for the last topic that I read. If I were on, say, the third page, I have to scroll down twice and press More twice, and so on. Each page is re-downloaded for obvious reasons (given the large amount of traffic on this discussion.) By the time that I reach the third page, it is quite a hunt to find the last topic that I visited so that I can continue to browse. This is inelegant and wastes time.
    In the iMac (Intel) discussion, (also heavily trafficked) the other method of accessing later pages is used. That is, by a button marked Next. Having pressed that, I stay on that second page (or third page) and am returned to it, and do not have the fuss of repeatedly pressing More.
    I have looked at "Your Stuff" but there seems no relevant preference. Therefore, how can I select the second method for all topics.

    I've used the Set as default tab option for the Discussions tab for this Forum.

  • Who runs this company and where are they hiding?

    How is it that Verizon has no problem taking your money.......but has no desire to give back what is yours?  I returned something for $265.00 almost a year ago and no credit has yet to be seen.  I have had my service turned off several times and also the $5.00 late fee.  No one.... I mean NO ONE  that I have talked with which includes managers on the phone and managers in the store can handle this problem.  However I keep getting those harassing phone calls and texts about my service being turned off.  I am so tired of being harassed by Verizon not to mention all the time they have taken out of my schedule and my life to stay on the phone to figure things out.  It has been a year gone by and they want me to hold on the phone will they attempt to figure this out....WHO has this kind of time?  How many times do you have to tell someone a story to get things done?  They are harassing me over something that is their mistake......they need to be held accountable and quit harassing people and fix their issues.  Where are the people that wear the pants in this company?  That is who I want to talk to.  Not someone who has no authority to help a customer who is right and they are the ones WRONG.

  • Attention to all  Verizon employees who visit this forum.

    I think its safe to say. That you guys don't know what's going on. You are only doing your job, which is listening to customer complaints. So don't get defensive when a customer is upset because one of your colleagues lied to them.  What you job should be is tracking down our missing Ipads. I have been waiting 4 weeks with no Fedex tracking number, no reason why its taking so long, and quite frankly I don't think Verizon cares about their customers. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks, then it changed to 3-4 weeks. What company do you know of, behaves this way. Very unprofessional. So do your real job, and track down those missing Ipads for your Verizon customers. Ohhh, I get it. Verizon forgot to order them. That's why its taking so long. Whatever the excuse corporate comes up with today, don't tell us. Just keep it to yourself. I won't believe it anyway. You guys lie to much.

    This "Japan disaster" excuse isn't valid. Apple said their inventory is FINE. They said the quake would only affect things months down the road if the diaster isn't corrected by then. They had more than enough stock and suppy ready. Also, most of the components (actually, nearly all of it) except for the glass and battery (both from Japan) come from South Korea, which was not affected by the disaster at all. The problem is VZW and their terrible management of the situation. Why is AT&T and Apple not having any problems?

  • Problems with this Forum

    Just an FYI to the techs who run this custom forum software - be aware of the following bug. Here is how to reproduce it:
    1) IE 7 latest
    2) Come to the forums. Navigate yourself to the iPhone forum before logging in.
    3) Click to log in. System reroutes you back to forum home page.
    4) On right sidebar you will see "Logout", as you should, since you are logged in.
    5) Click on the iPhone link to go into that subforum again.
    6) Note on the right sidebar it now says "Log in". And there is no option to "Post a new topic".
    7) Go back to forum main page and note that you are in fact still logged in.
    8) Click on the iPhone link to go into that subforum again.
    9) Note it still says "Log in".
    This has happened countless times. Its caching the forum and not updating it after you log in, so even after being logged in, you cant post new topics. I had to navigate to several other forums then get back to the iPhone forum through other linking methods for it to "realize" that it needed to reload the iphone forums, and recognize me as logged in.
    Hope this helps the techs out there.

    In the iPhone category, there are 7 forums.

    5) Click on the iPhone link to go into that subforum again.
    6) Note on the right sidebar it now says "Log in". And there is no option to "Post a new topic".
    If you are in the iPhone category (and not one of the actual forums), There is no option to "Post a new topic" because you are not in a forum.
    It is kinda flaky though that it does show you are not logged in. Refresh the browset page (press Shift and press F5 or click teh refresh button) and it will show you as logged in.

    I have been trying to install Photoshop CS6 & CC and Acrobat Pro XI on my Mac Pro (late 2013). I keep getting a 'configuration' error message and wondered if the problem was wide spread.

  • Warning when trying to launch application over mapped drive "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?"

    We have 2 load balanced application servers that map drives with programs on them for users from a central server that are giving the warning "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?". Basically how it works
    is a user logs in to one or the other application servers (for example, 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2) and runs a log on script that maps an L:\ drive to the users folder on the central storage server (10.0.0.100). When the user goes to launch the .exe from the L:\
    drive it presents that warning.
    I've looked around and have seen recommendations that you need to add the site to the local intranet zone for IE, but when I try to add L:\ it tells me that I have entered an invalid sequence. It appears that you can only put network shares in that location,
    which is not how we're mapping the drive.
    Has anyone run in to this before and knows how to resolve it?

    A mapped drive letter is not supported so please try to input \\server or \\server\folder to see if it will help.

  • This forum is running very slowly for me....

    Hi,
    I'm on a new 24" iMac and for the most part things have been running well. But starting yesterday, this forum started running very slow. Especially today, just clicking the link to this forum from my bookmark takes at least 2 minutes to go through.
    When I click a link to go to this forum, the blue progress bar progresses one (1) inch and then stops for a long while. Finally if I wait, the link usually goes through.
    I've browsed to other links around to make sure and it seems to be mostly this site. Sometimes other forums (The Parallels Forum) may run very slow as well.
    Is this just the way it is with forums on the web or is this a real defect I'm experiencing ?
    I know this question seems stupid, but I'm very curious as to what could be happening.

    I concur with Kappy and Bee. I'm in San Jose and I've observed a distinct slowdown in the past few months. Nearly unbearable, such that I don't read them much these days.
    The only thing worse than reading the forums on a Mac, is reading them over the Edge in Safari on the iPhone. Most of the time, the app times out before a forum page comes up .
    Maybe they are doing some sort of upgrade in transition, just like the Apple Store in Valley Fair Mall (Santa Clara, CA). You'd have to see to believe the congestion they are dealing with there in their temporary 'boutique-shoe-store-sized' store -- could be < 800 sq ft) !!

  • Elements 12 will not run. I am using windows 7, all updates have been made. When I try to open it up, it loads at first, then closes, and will not open up again. I need help with this, as I have not found a single answer in this forum that works.

    As stated, I just downloaded elements 12. Every time i open it up, it gets to the organizer home screen, then shuts down. After this, it will not reopen. I have made all the updates to my windows 7, and I have searched this forum and have yet to find an proper solution to this issue, and by the looks I am not the only person with this issue. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

    My post has been viewed 24 times, and yet have had no answers. I have always like adobe products, however if this is the type of support they offer, I will never purchase another product of theirs. The issue I am having is the same issue many others have had, and yet no answer. Poor customer service!
