I am using jdk1.5.0_17,Now I am trying to change default ciphersuits of JSSE by java system property,so all code can be kept unchanged.In JSSE Reference Guide I know default ciphersuits can be customized by https.cipherSuites system property.I run my program by java -Dhttps.cipherSuites=SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_MD5 myProgram
but it doesn't work.the default ciphersuits of jre are always used.I am not able to change it.
any comments? your help will be appreciated.

Well that only works with HTTPS, i.e. with URLs and HttpsURLConnections. If you're using Sockets directly you have to use the API.

Why can I change the callout text font in some documents and not others?

By experimenting I have determined that some documents that will allow me to add callouts also let me change the text font to a different font or font size. Other documents that will let me add callouts will not allow me to change the text font. A specific example is that I can add callouts and change the callout's font in pdf's I create by printing from Word, but a datasheet I have from a manufacturer I use will allow me to add callouts but not change the callout font. Why can't I change the font in callouts I add to the datasheet? I am using Acrobat 9.5.2. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Bob, I didn't think of that, I suppose that would work. Basically I would just like to have more text sizes to choose from in the drop down menu, I guess its more an issue of laziness on my part than anything else. I could make a character style for it, but then I'd probably have 10 different character styles just to change the size of my text when it would be less hassle just to type in the size I need. I was just looking for a quick fix default option that I was used to having at my old job.

I downloaded the new iWorks. I use Pages and Numbers. When I save a new document, the default would place the new documents in "iCloud." I want to change the default to save the new documents "on my mac." Pages' and Numbers' preferences do not allow the default to be changed. Any idea of how to change the default? Or is this something that will be fixed with the next patch?
My gut tells me Apple is getting sloppy, putting new software versions out before the software is ready or truly functional / compatable. That or Apple is trying to force a change in my personal computer practices. Either way, I am ****** off.
On that line of thought, why does Pages for the iPad change all my document fonts and screw up the document that I open from the iCloud. If iPad Pages cannot do what desktop Pages does, it should not be called Pages. What a waste of $10.

Why can't I create folders in the iCloud from my desk top computer?
Why do I have to recreate all my email folders that are on my mac, in the iCloud email. That is 75+ folders. Isn't there some way to have those folders and all their contents migrate?
Below I am suppose to enter product, but Pages is not listed with the other software. Nor is Numbers or iWork.

Thank you so much for your help and information. I have been trying to figure out how to change the default browser for about two weeks now. All the help files I've seen talked about an internet control panel I did not seem to have.
I followed your advice and that fixed it. I now get the right control panel when I pick the internet control panel from the apple menu. And yes, I can now choose my default browser.
After the fix when I first checked HELP to see if it could now open the internet control panel, it gave me an error message and told me to restart the computer. However, after rebooting and rebuilding the desktop it opens the control panel for me.
It also fixed at least one other problem I had with another program. Ever since I upgraded my IM program, it's INTERNET SETTINGS link under the edit menu never worked. It would not do anything when I chose it. It now works and opens the internet control panel. That is nice.
One other question.
After using Tome Viewer, I seen a number of internet related files. Some I already have like; Internet Prefs, Internet set and Internet Config Extension. However there is one called "Internet.cnl". I don't seem to have that file anywhere installed on my computer. Should this file be installed somewhere too?

No HDMI Audio, Failed to Play Test Tone, Can't Change Default Playback Device

Hello, I'm experiencing some real trouble with my HP Pavilion dv6-2160us (with the i3-330M, no dedicated graphics) Windows 7-64 bit, SP1 PC, and I would greatly appreciate some assistance.
I've created a new thread because, despite the fact that many other people have experienced a problem similar to this and have posted what worked for them, nothing has worked for me.
The Problem(s):
My main problem is that I cannot get any audio to play from my PC to my HDMI HDTV.
When I plug my HDMI cable into my PC and TV, the TV is recognized in Playback Devices, but nothing can play to it.
When I try to test the TV in playback devices, I get a "Failed to play test tone" error.
Additionally, I'd like to mention some other odd behavior that I think may be a part of the main problem.
In Playback Devices, I cannot change anything. I can't disable or enable a device, I can't set default playback or communication devices, and I can't save changes inside device properties. Every time I try to change something, like the default playback device, nothing happens or the changes are immediately reversed.
The Question:
How can I get audio to play over HDMI on my PC (It's not a problem with the TV, my other HP machines play audio over HDMI to it just fine.)?
What I've Tried:
I have tried:
Changing the default playback devices, which I'm unable to do
Running the Windows 7 Audio Playback troubleshooters from within a clean boot state
Uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel(R) Display Audio driver
Uninstalling and reinstalling the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Uninstalling the IDT PC Audio program from Programs and Features
Disabling the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Nothing has worked.
The drivers I have are the latest issued by HP
How can I get this working? I would really appreciate some assistance.
I'm at the point where I'm ready to try pretty technically-involved suggestions, so, please feel free to post those.

I found two files called AdobeDreamweaverSettingsPrefs (.xml and.tmp)
I removed them , emptied trash and restarted dreamweaver but the font stacks are sill missing.

I think the only reliable way to do something like you want is to include something like a Unicode dingbat (range 2700) as part of each message (i.e. in your signature). That will ensure it goes out as UTF-8.

I just got my new iMac and hate the fact that everytime I open Safari everything is small and centered directly in the Safari screen. How can I change the default settings so it either zooms in more or is in a landscaped mode so I don't have two big white patches on the sides of my window?

The only way I know of, (and that I use) is as follows:
Open textedit and create a new document.
Add the following 3 lines to the file
body {
zoom: 175%
Save the file as "somename.css". I called mine defaultzoom.css and saved it in Documents.
In Safari go to Preferences | Advanced.
In the Style sheet: dropdown box choose "other" and browse to the location of your somename.css file.
That's it, now webpages will open with the default zoom level you used in the file (I use 175% but you need to tweak it for your screen size). Also, I do run into situations where some pages don't render correctly. If that happens you can go back to Safari | Preferences | Advanced and change the Style sheet dropdown box to none until you are done viewing that paticular website. Then just put it back when you are done.

This solved my issue, but then I realised I have another. I'd like to be able to expand the size of the notes I can make. Perhaps there is another way in which I can get what I am after...?
Basically, I'd like to link a text box to a word(s) and be able to easily toggle between that text box being visible and hidden. The reason why is for chord charts/tablatures for music alongside lyrics. I'd like the lyrics and the chord chart/tablature to fit into the same file but I don't want to see the chords/tablature all the time. Only when I need to reference them.
Do you know if this is possible in either version of Pages?

10.4.11 Server - Can not change default permission behaviour

I have a 10.4.11 Server running with a raid attached.
I have the problem, that I can not change the default permission behaviour. POSIX is ticked but I want to use "Inherit permissions from parent". As the standard "group just read" POSIX behaviour is not what I want.
The WGM does not give me the possibility to change the default permission. The Radiobuttons are grey and can not be changed.
The Raid Volumes are formatted in HFS+ Journaled.
Would be more than happy to get a hint.

WGM - Sharing - ALL Share Points - mark the volume your share point is on - General - untick "Enable Access Control Lists on this volume".

Windows 7, can't change default keyboard layout.

It's not the first windows I install but its the first time I can't change the default keyboard layout. As usual I go in control pannel,region & language, (tab)keybard and languages, I press on change keyboard, Added the one I want ( Canadian french keyboard ) Put it on top of the list, tryed to delete the azerty keyboard I mistakly selected during the install and the option remove is greyed out. I tryed rebooting still the same issue. I also tryed to set it as default in the administrative tabs still no result.. Is there a regkey I can modify or something?
