Why does Apple take a step back in technology with the ios6? Very disappointed in these changes. I upgraded my iPad but won't upgrade my phone. I was going to purchase an i5 phone, but now I'm going to look at the new Samsung.
Can an Apple device be moved back to ios5? Why would Apple update only to take 2steps back in time, and productivity?
Good riddance. No one here works for apple, so we are not hurt by you going to a samsung. I will say after having both android OS's and iOS's in my life I will always choose the more stable platform, nothing like having to reset your device everyday for 2 years.

Why can´t I take a step back with the keyboard shortcut, cmd + ö, it was possible before, now you have to go to the bar at the top and "go back one step." I have Mac-systems, I also have mouse elbow, and do not want to use the mouse too often.

This is a total pain in the ***. I've been using ios products since the launch of the iPhone 4 and they've suddenly changed to this nonsense? Why does Apple treat its users like they're 4 years old?
Those things are nothing new. People were doing that three years ago and Apple felt their security was sufficient then. I don't have a credit card on file so I'm not worried about anyone getting my credit card info.
I have sent my feedback to Apple. Their response included "this is policy. There is no way around the security measures." and "I have provided Apple's answer. There is no further escalation point or anyone I can transfer you to that is going to provide a different answer at this time." -
I open Address Book, go into Preferences, select Template and under the Names field (friend, assistant, father, etc) I add a custom field called "Principal".
I also add two more custom fields in the Email area.
Quit Address Book then relaunch. Add a new contact and the new custom fields, Principal, etc. are there. All good so far.
I have a Now Contact file with about 200 contacts in it. I export all fields as a Text file, Tab delimited. No problems there. With Address Book launched, select Import, pick the text file, leave Text Encoding on Automatic and click Open.
The window that shows the fields for Address Book and fields for the text file side by side opens. This is where you match up the correct fields for importing. If I go to one of the fields from the text file that I created a custom field for, click under the Address Book heading on the Do not import, scroll thru the Apple choices of fields, none of the custom fields show up. Only the original Apple ones are there. Why does Apple let you create them in the Template area but not have them available for importing? Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

720P requires 6mbps for instant streaming
1080P requires 8mbps

Not using OpenDNS by any chance? Using OpenDNS has caused issues as some Apple server access gets re-routed to slow servers (Akamai servers from memory). -

There could be several reasons. It may be that Acrobat spent that time trying and ran into too many bottlenecks. As a test you might print the PDF to a new PDF and try the conversion on the new PDF. It might be there is a problem with the original PDF that the print process would fix..

its been on for ages and its not even a quarter of the way backed up!The Brave New World of AC wireless networking.. where the reality falls far short of the hype.
Unfortunately in an actual transfer situation, the signal to noise of wireless (RSSI figure drops dramatically), It simply uses AC as a link speed but speed is always renegotiated during an actual file transfer.. to some sustainable level. I suspect that level is not AC wireless but N.
It does matter if you run older devices.. nothing with a or b or g wireless should be running in your house. Even n wireless may cause issues.. try turning everything else off and see if you get speed lift.
As far as the time required for a clean up, is this a first backup as they always take a significantly longer time. Once you are doing regular incrementals the time is usually very short. -

I have the exact same problem. I purchased apple tv several years ago, and every time I go to rent or buy a movie it takes anywhere from 3 to 7 hours to download the movie. There is no spur of the moment "hey lets rent a movie tonight" because I know it will take overnight to complete the download. I've checked my internet speed and it spot on. I've noticed other threads with people having the same problem but no one seems to have a solution.
