Why does FF open two windows when I open it? Why can't I close the second window without closing FF altogether?
After FF automatically updated it started opening two windows whenever I start FF. One window has the open tabs from my previous session and the other window has only the FF home page open in one tab, nothing else. I can't close either window without shutting FF down altogether. I have limited RAM (3GB), running Mac Lion, which eats up a lot of resources and now FF eats up the rest. It's a real pain in the ass.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Closing one window (x in top right corner) will try to close the second window as well.
If I have two different windows open with tabs, and I try to close 1 window (no tabs), it will also try to close down the second window and ALL the tabs it contains as well. This has never happened in previous versions.

Try moving the com.apple.addressBook.plist to your Desktop and start Contacts.
To get there, hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu in Finder. Then, navigate to Preferences folder. -

This was happening with FF 3 before upgrading to 4, and was not happening with FF4.0 until the 4.0.1 update was applied, the first time it ran. Same issue on another computer running FF3, so may be a extension related problem.
If I have three windows open and close the third, I do Not get this. Only when two are opened and one is closed. I could have three, close one, then the second and get the prompt.

when i open my pages app a loading bar appears and cannot be removed. i have waited two and a half hors for whatever it is to load and i finally just had to force the program to close through the activity monitor. But this problem persists... every time i open the app the loading bar haunts me. i can still edit the document but the loading bar is still "layered" in front of the open app. my final question is, how do i get rid of this loading bar and what is it for?

It sounds as though Pages is trying to resume editing a bad document, or a very large one. Quit Pages, Force Quit if necessary, and then start it up again while holding down the Shift key to prevent reopening formerly open documents.

Why does my photo look posterized when I open it in CS6?
When opening a picture in CS6, either from Bridge or just from File, open in CS6, they have this 60's posterized look on most of the picture. Settings are 8 bit, RGB, haven't changed any settings and even reinstalled CS6 over the old CS6, but still doing it. Was fine for a long time, just started doing this. I did upgrade to OnOne Perfect Layers 7 recently. That program has had a history of bugginess, I may delete it . But first I was hoping there was some simple fix you might know of. Thank you

I noticed that my music turns off when I open safari on my iPhone 5c. What's the deal?
I figured out this will happen if any of the pages that are open in safari on your phone are open to a page that contains media. Note this means any page regardless of whether it's the one you are viewing. So if you go to a site that has media, then open a new browser window and go to a page that doesn't have media and then open iTunes and play a song...when you switch back to safari, the music will stop. If you close the first browser window and try it again...the music will continue to play.

Why does my App Store crash when I open it?
I have never been able to open my App Store. It crashes immediately with an error notice that says
"App Store Quit Unexpectedly." It hasn't mattered before, but now I am getting an iPad so it
does matter. I dumped the preference and restarted but it didn't help. What is the next
step?A couple of things that might work are, firstly to close the App Store app completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Why does every app pop up when i start computer, why does every app pop up when i start computer?
When I turn on my computer, I log in with my details and as soon as everything is loaded all the applications such as Word, ITunes, Yoga, etc... pop up as they have been opened. I have right clicked on each application to ensure it is not labeled as "open at login" and have gone through my system preferences to ensure nothing is setup to open as I start my computer.
How do I stop all the applications from opening when I start my computer???click on your apple logo, top left, then click restart - then take the checkmark off reopen windows when logging back in.

Why does TDM Importer start up when I open an Excel file in LabVIEW, and how can I stop it?
I have a new application using LabVIEW 2012 SP1. I open an Excel file using the Report Generation toolkit and when I do so, a small TDM Importer window pops up on top of the Excel file.

The TDM Importer pops up because the report generated in LabVIEW is in the TDMS file format. TDMS is a binary file that requires an importer to make sense of the binary data and translate it into an Excel spreadsheet. As per this white paper, the appearance of the floating toolbar is expected behavior: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/5874/en/
To the best of my knowledge, you cannot get rid of the floating toolbar unless you uninstall the add-in, in which case you probably would not be able to open your LabVIEW-generated reports. However, as of Excel 2007, the toolbar is embedded in the "Add-Ins" tab instead of floating on your spreadsheet. You can see how the toolbar looks as of Excel 2007 in step 6 of this white paper: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/5885/en/
If there is a way to embed the toolbar in Excel 2003, it would be the exact same way you would embed any other floating customer toolbar in Excel. In other words, I don't think this has anything to do with the fact that it's NI's add-in. This is just the way Excel 2003 and earlier treats add-in toolbars. Someone on these forums may well know a way to embed it (perhaps a macro?), but you may have better luck contacting Microsoft. I'm not sure whether it's even possible for a user to embed the toolbar.

Why does my music stop playing when I open a book in iBooks?
I have enjoyed reading books on my iPhone but since my last OS update the music fades out whenever I open a book in iBooks . Any setting I can change ?
MAC OS 10.7.2 and iTunes Version 10.5.3. HelpOk, I just realised that this only happens if the current page in iBooks has a video on it. If the page has only text and images, there is no problem.
I still think it is a bug though. If the video is not running, I don't see why the music player should be stopped. If I choose to start the video on the page, THEN the music player should be stopped. -
