Why does my mail get returned from some email addresses

When I send email to one particular email address, even though I have not been blocked, the email gets bounced back to me. Why is that and how can I solve it?

The mail server returns the mail as not able to be delivered and tells me it is a permanent error. The email address is correct. I have been given another company email address to send to and that has the same end result. I am not blocked by them and all my other emails are being sent to their destinations. What else can I say?

when i send a text in iMessage the person receiving it gets it from my email address... how do i change that. and in message settings the receiving thing has my email and phone number but my phone number is gray and i can't click on it help

    Hello Todd:
I had this very same problem when trying to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPad. When I signed into my account, I actually wasn't even presented with the option of a phone number - notwithstanding the fact that I was contacting others (and being reached by others) by my phone number on my iPhone. Having both the iPad and the iPhone on, I kept trying to turn off and on both iMessage and Facebook in Settings on both my iPad and iPhone, hoping that that they would eventually sync. But this proposed solution by others was unsuccessful for me.
Then, I found out what the problem was: When my iPhone was activated, it automatically registered my phone number for contact purposes. I was using iMessage on my iPhone for quite some time without actually being signed into my Apple ID account. When another device - such as an iPad or iPod - is being used for iMessage or Facebook, you are prompted to sign into your Apple account, using your username and password. These two devices will not register your phone number as an option for contact unless your iPhone is signed into your Apple account as well. In other words: your phone number will not be synced.
Go into your "Settings" on your iPhone and click on "Messages". Scroll down and click on "Send & Receive" (which should be followed by your phone number). On the next page, you will be able to determine whether or not your iPhone is using the Apple ID for messaging purposes. (Note: This information applies for Facetime as well.) If it is using your Apple ID for messaging, than at the top, you will see "Apple ID: <your particular e-mail account>" in Blue text. However, if you are not using your Apple ID for messaging, than you will see the words: "Use your Apple ID for message". Even though below this you will see your phone number checked as the contact source, you will want to click the tab that says, "Use your Apple ID for message". Sign into your account (just as you must sign in for iMessage on your other devices), and just choose your phone number as the "Send & Receive" contact. (The option of the e-mail will be there too, but you don't have to check it. And later on, you can delete it as an option.)
Now that all of your devices are signed in using your Apple ID, the other devices should register your phone number as a choice. It may take a little while, however. What I did was sign out of iMessage on my iPad, and then sign in again. If the option didn't appear, I just went back and signed in again, and kept doing this until the option for the phone number appeared.
Again, this will work for Facetime as well. The solution is to sync your iPhone account with the other devices by using your Apple ID for messaging (and Facetime) purposes.
I hope that this works for you, Todd!   ~ Brian

  • HT3529 when i send a text/imessge why does the person recieving it see my email address instead of my name?

when i send a text/imessage why does the person receiving it see my email address instead of my name??

iMessage requires both parties be using iOS 5. The iPhone 3 can not be upgraded to iOS 5, thus messages would be sent as an SMS (Text message)

  • When another iphone gets my messeges they get it from my email address? why and how do i fix this?

My friends with iphones say that when then get a text messege from me it is from my email address. i dont know why it is doing this but i need to fix it.

Let it verify your number first. Then go to "caller ID" and select your number, instead of your email.

  • I cannot update my aps because when I want to sign in I keep getting an old email address which is not registered anymore and does not match a password. Why do I not get my valid registered email address to sign in?

I cannot update my aps because I keep getting an old invalid email address to sign in although I deleted it and replaced it months ago. It is not mentioned anymore in my account . So why does it still come up and interfere?

Apps bought bought from that old Apple ID are forever tied to that Apple ID. So you need to login into that account to update that app.

  • Why do I get txt from my email address

MMy son and I share an email for our iPhone 5c when he txt me I someti get 2 one from my email address and one from my number but not from his.  People have told me when I send a message it sometimes shows up as my email also and ask me who I am cause they dnt have it in their contacts.  Why is this happening.  Have had our phones for a year almost and this is just not happening in the last 2 weeks.

Look at Settings>Messages>Send and Receive From  ...On his iPhone click on your email address so that the check mark goes away.  Do the same on your iPhone to uncheck his email.  You apparently also share an Apple ID.

Because you have it set that way.
Settings > Message > Receive At > Caller ID
    Change to your phone number.

  • Apple Mail - Load images for some email addresses automatically

Is it possible in Apple Mail to put some email addresses on a white list so that the images within their emails always load?
I don't want all images to load for every email I get, but I find it an annoyance to have to often load images from contacts I already trust.

AppleScript to the rescue!  Thank you Linc Davis!!!
Still find it strange Apple doesn't have this built into the Mail interface as an option and have to run a script [grumble].

  • Where does ipad mail get contacts from

So i try to send a photo to my son, when I start to enter the first few letters of his email address up comes a list including an old address that I deleted ages ago ... it is certainly not in 'contacts' so is there some 'cache' somewhere that I need to clear ? Best Roger

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iOS Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients. The autofill for email addresses pulls from your contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients to add a previous recipient to contacts that is not already entered, or to remove a previous recipient from the list - not at the present time anyway.

  • Why does my iMessage randomly send from my email instead of phone number on my iPhone?

    Hi,
I have iMessage set up on my iPhone 5s (fully updated) and regularly use it since most of my contacts also have imessage. I mainly use it on my iPhone, but sometimes use the messaging app on my Mac.
I have an email linked to my iMessage, it is my apple ID. I have it set as "can be reached at" my phone number and email and "start new conversations from" ONLY my phone number.
However, sometimes when I'm in the middle of a text conversation with someone, they will end up getting an imessage from my email and not my phone number, which confuses people and puts the conversation in two different places.
Is this a common issue? Do I just remove the email from where I can be reached at? Does doing that disable me from using the messenger app on my mac?

Unfortunately yes - if you have both phone number and email checked as available then sometimes the choice from where to send appears to be random.
However you may want to disable the email as a potential contact point on the phone and leave it on in the pad and see what happens - given the cloud based nature of the system it may synchronize at some point but at least you will know .

  • EPrint servers accept jobs from some email addresses and NOT others

I have an HP Photosmart Premium C410b which works a treat apart from when I try to use ePrint. I use my own (register.com hosted) domain email address for nearly all of my email. And when I send emails to @hpeprint.com I get the following bounce back :
    Delivery status notification
We're sorry; your message to "[email protected]" has failed. The recipient's mail server responded with: "Diagnostic-code 550 - (5.7.1 Command rejected)". Please check the recipient's email address for typos or unnecessary spaces and resend. Thank you.
So then I added my backup googlemail account as an 'allowed sender' and it works perfectly. I have even tried to do this with 'everyone' allowed to send to hpeprint still same problem. (i.e.. works for @googlemail.com but not my main personalised domain email).
It sounds like the hpeprint email server / firewall is rejecting my personalised domain email address. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem.

    Hi all,
We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix to implement in the near future.
This is because some of the email from some certain are incorrectly identitifed as spam mail by the server.
    Thank you for your patience.
    I am an HP employee
