Why don't I get any sound on youtube or the radio but I can hear some old saved things from emails?

Why can't I get sound on you tube or a radio station but I can on an old email? My sound is up on both items.

I understand you can't get any sound on YouTube since September 29, 2013.\
If you do a System Restore it should fix what changes took place on or before that date.
If I were to do the Restore I would take it to the 27th of September, that way you will be sure to correct the issue. Follow the link for how to options.

Why don't I get any sound when export from imovie to quicktime DVD

Help. I am a new imovie user so hope not being stupid. am using G4 powerbook with OS X 10.3.9. imovie 3.0.3 and quick time 7.1.2. Have made 2 films so far - first exported fine into quicktime with sound. Second exports but without any sound. This film is 5 mins long. It plays fine in imovie, and if exported as low quality for web also records sound (when 188 kg), but big version for DVD gives the problem. thanks for any advice. Sue

Welcome to discussions!
It may be that your quicktime is not getting along well with you OS X version...try to revert back to another version of quicktime (BUT- I don't know if this will work with your current QuickTime though)

I'd like to know why Apple no longer offers any other size display besides the 27"? I can't use that size, nor do I have that kind of money. You are forcing me to buy another brand and the other brands don't have the compatibility to the new MacBook I just purchased. I would never have bought the new MacBook last month had I known about the display discrimination! This ***** !

Well, there are a lot of good screens out there that support mini display port. Just because you bought apple, doesn't mean you have to stick with it. Also you can get adaptors such as mini displayport to hdmi or mini displayport to dvi. Both of those adaptors will allow you to connect your MacBook to a regular monitor.

I am very said and disgusted, because i cannot get any sounds what so ever on youtube. I have trIed every thing i am capable of doing....I know googles has been blocking my sent video's from time to time because I like my toutube name and do not want to use my real name...For over three years this has been my name. This might be the problem, or not...I just want to hear my video's and add to ma place list. Someone please HELP ME!

My IPod mini appears to be working, but I do not get any sound. I have reset it, but that didn't help. Is it possible that when it was exposed to a lot of sweat it shorted the speaker card?

My Ipod mini will not produce sound. I have reset it, still no sound. The only thing that I think might be causing this (and I want to know if I am correct) I carried it in my hand while walking in extream heat. The perspiration may have gotten in the device.

Be sure to try another set of headphones, if you have one.
Since you already did a Reset, the next thing you can try is to go to the Settings screen on the iPod (from the main screen). There should be an option at the bottom that says something like Reset All Settings. Choose that option to reset iPod to default settings.
If that does not bring back the sound, the next thing to try is a Restore in iTunes. Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, go to the Summary tab. The Restore button is there. This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. If the cause is a software or settings glitch, a Restore should fix it. Try putting a few songs on the iPod to check if there is improvement.
If that does not bring back the sound, it is probably a hardware problem. A fix would then require replacing whatever part is faulty inside the iPod. It could be the headphone jack or something on the logic board. Moisture getting inside could have caused the problem, but it could just be age; maybe the headphone jack is just worn out.

All you have to do is update your sound/audio driver. (especialy if you just got a BIOS update, if you haven't, just proceed)
first, make sure nothin's attached to your laptop.
go to hp.com -> support & drivers - drivers & software - (put in your product name/number - you can find that at the bottom of your laptop) - at the drop down, select widows 64 bit (mostly) then hit next - at step 2, 'SELECT A DOWNLOAD', choose driver - audio - click the first blue link and hit save - after saving, your laptop will prompt you to run it. hit run.
then your laptop will reset, and it should produce sound.

Cant see the image but I can hear it, any suggestions?

I have just uploaded the new version of QT and try to play a 1280x720 Mov in it but the image is not there while I can hear the sounds.
I tryed playing a 4:3 dv mov and it was fine, any help would be great.

I have same problem as Alex, I also have latest version of QT with no pictures but can hear sound.
The video guy that transfered the DV tapes for me can play the HD clips from the tape in QT and iMovie (both older versions than mine).
Kenedy, I have the Movie Inspector up, now how do I search for the codec?
Being a still photographer this language is pretty foreign to me. Any help appreciated.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar.
