Why font dialog window popups when running this vi?

1) Press and hold ctrl+R keys.
2) In few seconds, the font dialog window popups immediately.
Why this happens? Is this a bug?
Am using LabVIEW 8.5 and Windows XP SP2

Cmd window appears when running sqldeveloper.exe for some users

All,
I'm wondering why a cmd window appears when I double click the sqldeveloper.exe executable?
This is a Windows 2008 server.
Also, when the user that installed SQL Developer runs it, the cmd window has no text in it but when other users are logged into the server and run the same executable, they have a lot of messages appearing in the cmd window similar to:
at org.apache.log4j.xml.DOMConfigurator.doConfigure<DOMConfigurator.java:616)
What I'd like to do is NOT have any cmd window appear when the users run sqldeveloper.exe

There are two sqldeveloper.exe files. The one in the root of the sqldeveloper installation folder doesn't produce a console; the one in <sqldev>\sqldevloper\bin does.

Dialog window popup shows calling page insead of dialog page in Portal app

Within my Webcenter Portal application (JDev 11.1.1.5.0) I'm experiencing the following popup behavour.
I have made a navigation model which is used by a tree menu (situated in my pagetemplate in the left panel) and the breadcrumbs ( pagetemplate, top panel). On one of the pages (to which you can navigate by means of this tree menu) there is a link. When you click this link, you'll see a dialog modal window (popup window). I have made this popup by creating a taskflow with a jspx page on it. The jspx page has no page template, so it's created as a blank page. To test it, for now I have only put an outputText on it. In my adfc_config file I have dragged this taskflow to the screen, setting the properties 'run as dialog = true' and 'display type = inline-popup'. A control flow case was also made ( of course..... ;) ).
On the calling page I made a commandlink with the action of the control flow case, and the properties use window = true, inlinedocument, applicationModal.
Okay....
When I place this link on the homepage (the page that starts up when I have logged in), and click the link, the popup shows and displays the right page (the jspx with an outputText on it).
BUT when I navigate to a different page (by means of the tree menu) and click the link on that page (which is an exact copy of the first link), the popup still shows.....only displays the page and pagetemplate I have just come from.......So in my popup I'm looking at a page displaying my default pagetemplate, my treemenu etc.
Is someone familiar with this kind of behaviour?
Also, how can I resolve this??

Only fix that i found is changing Navigation Model to Item links (that contains your popup invoke) with "Redirect to URL" instead of "Redirect URL in Page Template".

However, can u test your problem in different browsers? IE7, IE8, Firefox , Chorme and tell me if your problem persist in all browsers?

     In Illustrator CS4 ,I tried to skip missing font dialog box(alert box) by using the following script .But,I could not skip the dialog box

Does this NOT error when run? Your target application here is 'Finder' Apple's system file browser and you are giving it Adobe illustrator commands?

Does anyone know why my finder window resizes when I enter time machine?

Can anyone explain why my finder changes size when I enter time machine? I'm pretty sure this didn't happen on Snow Leopard but it does since I installed Lion. It's only a small glitch but it's rather annoying since I have positioned and resized the finder window on my desktop to the place I want it - in the centre of the screen and showing all the folders in my sidebar list. When I enter time machine the finder window becomes shorter, therefore not showing all the sidebar folders. I wouldn't mind if when I exit time machine it reverts back to the way it was but it doesn't so I have to resize over again!
Anyone know why this happenes?

Take a snapshot of this issue and send it to Apple. I think it may be a small glitch.

Any help on why I get an error when running OA_UPLOAD_AND_LINK in background?

Hi experts,
I am attempting to run the OA_UPLOAD_AND_LINK program in the background to upload employee photos placed into a directory on a shared drive by each HR manager. When I check SM37, I see the job was cancelled and the error "Frontend parameter (parameter error)" Message no. OA501 was the reason.
If I run the program in the foreground using the same variant, I don't have any issues and the photos load just fine. Any suggestions on what parameter it's complaining about?
My goal is to schedule this program to run nightly and process any pictures in the shared drive. I'll have a second job remove the files from the shared drive at a later time.

After looking at the code:

This is the code inside the program preventing it from running in the background. WHY!?! would they do this?

Find Font dialog box appears when opening files

This didn't used to happen, but now whenever I open an Illustrator file, the "Find Font" dialog opens as though the fonts I'm using aren't found. Not sure what it wants me to do because no matter what I try nothing resolves. I simply click the "Done" button and go about my business. And there are no problems. Why is this happening? and why now? My fonts are always loaded before I open the file, the file looks and handles just fine.

I realise this is an old thread but recently experienced this problem and found a solution that worked for me.

FYI, my case is slightly different from the OP's: Illustrator was exhibiting this behaviour with only one of my files so I guessed that the problem might be with that specific file. The Find Font dialog box would appear every time the file was opened, even though it showed that all the necessary fonts were present. I didn't have admin rights for that machine and couldn't delete any preference files. So, I tried creating a new .ai file, copying everything over and saving it with a new name. No more dialog box after that.

Why I get an error when running a sequence using the LabVIEW operator interface ?

I have a simple TestStand sequence calling LabVIEW vis that is giving me an error when I run it with the .exe version of the LabVIEW operator interface and I set TestStand to run the vis using the 8.2.1 runtime engine instead of the development adapter. I made a change in the operator interface to open a vi programatically and get the value of a control, this vi is also used in the TestStand sequence I am trying to run. Could this be causing my problem ?

I have a few additional questions:
Does your application function correctly when running the LabVIEW operator interface you have created as a VI in the LabVIEW development environment (i.e. does this problem only occur when the LabVIEW operator interface is run as an executable)?
What is the error that you are receiving?
Regarding the VI that you open programmatically, do you open it in a visible manner (i.e. use the Show front panel when called option from VI Properties)?If so, do you also close this VI after it finishes (i.e. use the Close if originally closed option from VI Properties)?
Does the error occur on the step that calls this very same VI again later in the sequence?
Does your application function correctly if you use the development adapter for all of your calls?

Why does FCPX keep crashing when running on MacBook Pro10.7.5, 2.66GHz Intel Core i7, 8gb 1067 Mhz DDR3

I am running Final Cut 10.0.7 on a MacBook Pro 10.7.5, wiht 2.66GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3. It locks up and crashes a couple of times a day. My system exceeds what Apple says I have to have to run this program. Why is it crashing? What do you need to run it so it DOESN'T crash. I've heard you actually need 16GB of ram. Is that true?

Your MBP specs are higher than mine. I'm running FCPX 10.0.8 (ran 10.0.7 for a long while), 2.4 GHz i7 with 8 GB RAM and don't have the crashes you're describing. There've been reports here of problems with some 3rd party plugins. Could that be what's causing your issues?

Facebook reports that i'm using v3.5 of Firefox and Windows 2000 when running on 16.0.2 and XP (upgraded system). where is this info and how to reset?

the PC was upgraded from Win2000 to XP, and has all the XP service packs installed. it is also running Firefox 16.0.2. when i go to Facebook, and other pages, it says that i'm running an unsupported operating system (says i'm using Windows 2000), and i should upgrade my browser to the latest version (says i'm running FF 3.5, or FF 3.6, can't remember which). i' ve looked thru the registry, but haven't found anything that jumps out. where else could this info be stored that Firefox is looking at.

Why do I get popups when opening eBay pages?

When I open an eBay listing page I get a series of popups each of which need s to be canceled before the next one pops up. Thje series goes:

No problem with IE9 & didn't happen before I updated to firefox 4.

Why am I getting popups when I have it set for no exceptions?

advertisement popups happen frequently from all kinds of sites at any time during my session, and I I have no exceptions set in the options menu. They always open in another window underneath the current one and are not always noticed immediately.

Can not use stored windows credential when running merge agent with agent proxy

I have an account ACCT_A and create a windows credential
CRED_B target to server DISTRIBUTOR_1 (with cmdkey).
And I setup a pull subscription to DISTRIBUTOR_1 and set merge agent run under agent proxy with credential of account
ACCT_A (The sql server agent is running as LocalSystem or Network Service). Then the merge agent job will failed and complain "Failed to connect to distributor
DISTRIBUTOR_1".
However if I change the sql server agent to run as ACCT_A and let merge agent job run as SQL Server Agent Service Account it will successfully connect to distributor
DISTRIBUTOR_1 with credential CRED_B, with other setting unchanged.
Here are the questions:
Is it possible to grant other accounts to access one's stored windows credential in Credential Manager?
I suppose merge agent job will get full security context of ACCT_A when it runs under agent proxy with credential of ACCT_A and should be able to access stored credential CRED_B and
successfully connect to DISTRIBUTOR_1. But nowCRED_B seems can not be accessed by merge agent. Could somebody explain what's the problem here?

Very Urgent !!!! Windows Crashing when running a LabVIEW Program using Comact DAQ Chassis

I am using a Compact DAQ Chassis with a AI and a DO Card. The chassis is connected to the USB post of the computer. ( There is no other device connected to the laptop.) When the program is running, WIndows crash and gives a stop error. This has happened several times. Please help.

2. Could you attach a screen shot of the error you are receiving?
3. Have you been able to use this cDAQ chassis without the modules in it? Do you see the same behavior?
4. Have you tried using this chassis with another laptop? Do you see the same behavior?

BI authentication popup when running report in CRM

When I run a report in CRM from the webUI I get a popup asking me to provide my user/pass to the BI system. Is there a way I can run a report in CRM without having to deal with this popup?

Hi Nick,
Assuming you're running CRM2007 outside an Enterprise Portal you need to make your "BI system trust the CRM system".
In this case I see that you might have to do the following things:
- Make sure that each CRM user has a corresponding user with the same userid in BI
- Configure a trusted system connection between CRM and BI instance (trx. STRUST) so that CRM can talk RFC with BI without additional authentication.
- Configure BI to accept SSO2 cookies issued by the CRM system (trx. SSO2).
Please refer to the respective Netweaver AppServer ABAP documention to make sure you fully understand the concepts and how to configure.
Side remark: As this is security sensitive topic make sure you have an alignment with the respective IT admin people of your company/ your project's company.
