Why has my Firefox become so slow, even though I don't have any add-ons?

The settings tell me that I don't even have any add-ons installed. But FIrefox is still very slow, especially on those bigger sites.
Resetting Firefox doesn't help either..

The Java Deployment Toolkit plugin (also called Java DT) is a specialized plugin designed for web developers and network administrators and is not related to your general usage of Java (and is not required to be running to enable Java content in the browser.) It's "highly unlikely" this is the source of your browser slowdown. Oracle likes to "bundle" this plugin with Java SE for unknown reasons. Mozilla still considers Java DT to be vulnerable, and has considered it to be vulnerable for a long time...that's why you see this message (and probably will continue seeing it, unless you delete the plugin.) You can delete this plugin from the list of firefox plugins, but it will probably come back when you update Java. Sounds like you could benefit from disabling all Java content in the browser. How that is accomplished is explained in the above thread.

My dock disappears even though I don't have hiding mode?

Recently my dock has been acting really strange. Even though I don't have "hiding-mode" on in the System Preferences, it keeps disapearing from the screen! I have tried to turn the computer off, I have also tried turning on and off the hiding-mode (as well as all the other "modes" in the Dock-section) but it doesn't help. This is really annoying me as I hate when I can't see my dock... I have no idea why this happened. I hadn't touched anything in the System Preferences but suddenly one day this just stared to happen. Does anyone know what I should do?
The top bar (I don't know its name...) where the wifi-connection, the battery percent, time and where the apple-symbol is (that gives you the opportunity to log out/turn off etc.) also "gone"!! It comes back when I move my mouse cursor over it, just like the dock, but I have no idea how to turn the hiding mode off.
They both stared disapeareing at the same time.
Has this happened to anyone else, and what am I supposed to do?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

My firefox version is 3.6.12, however I cannot download any add-ons cause it says I am still using version 2, and it is the same for website such as youtube where it is always saying I am using a outdated browser. How do I solve this?

You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.12 to Firefox/2.0.0.13
You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page:

You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.

If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions. 
You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.

Why is my Creative Cloud desktop app telling me I don't have any apps installed, when in fact I do?

Just noticed this forum so thought I'd post my question in here too...
So, I [think] I just downloaded the latest CC desktop app/manager and when it finished etc and opened up, it's now telling me that I don't have any apps installed. I do, I have PS, AI, InDesign etc etc etc.
Why is the new desktop app wrong all of a sudden? Why isn't it recognising what apps I have downloaded on my computer?
I've just installed PS 2014, expecting it to tell me 'you've already got this on your computer' but it didn't, I just carried on with the install as if I didn't already have it [it doesn't appear to of doubled up]...why isn't it 'synced', what am I missing?

I downloaded the web developer tool bar and after using it my images are gone. I use google and a home page and the big google is gone. I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it but I still don't have any images. How can I get them back?

Two days ago I downloaded the web developer tool bar (aus2.mozilla.com). I tried to use it but gave up. I deleted the tool bar.
I don't have any images anymore. I use Google.com as my home page (default) and the large GOOGLE isn't there anymore. I've also noticed some of the sites I use don't have the continue or next or enter keys anymore. It seems the only thing I have now is the text.

Are you sure you are looking at the Google page?? In Firefox 4.0 the default homepage / Start Page in Firefox was changed to '''about:home''' which looks a lot like the former www.google.com/firefox homepage.

Why has my FireFox gone painfully slow/Not responding since last update?

Since the last update Firefox just does not want to work for me most webpages take 20-30 seconds to load and often It will just not respond and take a minute to load and when it does it will have a script error as for google images forget about it well into 2 mins to load after the not responding message finally goes My brother also uses Firefox and his works perfectly fine, I have disabled all addons and it is the same. Why won't Firefox block pop-ups even though configured to do so?

I have the browser set up to block pop-ups. It blocks the pop-ups from my bank even though I have repeatedly made that page "allowed" but allows subscription pop-ups on dozens of pages. Nearly all of these sub pop-ups force me to close them to see the page it hides. How can I actually block those annoying actions?

Installing with DVD, even though I don't have a DVD drive?

Is there a way to work-around the fact that I don't have a DVD drive on my G4 to install Tiger from the DVD that I have on hand?
Just started a new job, and they have the Tiger DVD disks, but there's only one mac in the whole office that has a dvd drive. Yet, there are several with Tiger installed.
How did they do it? No one who was here during the installation is here now ... go figure.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to sound as if that were critical. I bet they have sound or recording software/hardware as the main concern like you do. A local user here has had problems moving some of his stuff (and recording from vinyl) with his OS X installations.
I think I may have been confused with your earlier post about the drive. There should be no problem going directly to 10.4 at all. I thought that you wanted to install an OS onto the DVD drive and it needed to be 10.2 or above. This looks like a balancing act: you need a suitable OS on the drive to put the OS on the computer; but you need a drive on the computer to put the OS on the drive.
A solution might be to find another computer with a DVD drive; or to go up in steps: Jaguar or Panther come on CDROM disks so could be installed on the computer then on the drive (or directly onto the drive without installing on the computer).
There was an exchange program to get Tiger on CDROMs but I am not sure if that is finished (or if there are any in Aus.).

Never apply updates w/o one.
And yes there is a page with all the Apple Downloads to do manually and then you can keep it on hand. Same for the OS X Lion or ML installer - save them before running. Still on 10.6.8 so you have OS X 10.6 DVD.
Combo updates do not do any harm. There could be issues to the drive directory beforehand.
Mac Pro has been shipping with Lion since summer 2011, though you can even now still reinstall iwth 10.6.4+

When opening picture it is pixelated. Why and how do I change it even though I don't remember changing it in the first place!

My pictures are all opening pixelated. No matter if it is from Raw or from a JPEG I edited 3 days ago. I did not actively set out to change anything in my settings the last couple of days. If I have accisentally done something please help me to change it back!

Usually pixelation on the screen is the result of zoom turned up too high. Double click the Hand Tool and see if that fixes it.
If not,
We'll need a screenshot of the Photoshop screen with the image loaded.
Also a screen shot of Image > Image size dialog will help us to see what is going on. Set the units to pixels.
