This VI is from the shipping example "Waveform and XY Plots.vi" and you are not using it right. As others have already hinted, you need an array of xy clusters. (Note the autoindexing output tunnel!).
Here's the code from the example.
What are you actually trying to do? Why don't you use a plain xy graph?

  • Why is this wire broken?

    Drop "New VI" onto diagram.
Right-click the terminal "type specifier VI refnum".
    Select "Create -> Constant".
    Right-click the constant.
Select "Select VI Server Class -> Browse...".
    Browse to a VI.

In LV9 you need to download and activate scripting to see this function.
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/labview-apis?view=overview
As to the original question, the Type Specifier input can be used to specify the New VI as a Generic VI, Facade VI, Method VI, etc..  A strictly typed VI refnum implies a specific connector pane and connections, this in not compatible with a New VI since this is a blank slate.  The Help description is misleading, they simply copied and pasted from the Open VI Reference Function.
Speaking of Open VI Reference, that is the workaround I would use.  I do not know your goal here, but one thing you could do is create your Strict VI Type Def, use the VI Path property to create a new VI using that path as the template.  Use the VI Name property of the new VI reference and feed that to Open VI Reference with the Strict Type Def reference passed as the Type Specifier.  Now you have a New VI and a Strictly Typed Reference.

  • Exchange 2010 DAG Replication - too much data crossing the wire

I’m replicating 3 Exchange databases from our production active Exchange 2010 server across the WAN to another passive Exchange 2010 server at our DR site.
The Exchange server at the DR site does not have any active databases, i.e. no users are hitting that server.
We are running Update Rollup 8 for Exchange Server 2010 SP1 on both these servers.
The two sites are connected via a 10Mb/s MPLS connection and all the databases are in sync and the replication is working fine.
I have setup a network sniffer at the primary site and see a sizable amount of data crossing the wire from the production Exchange server to the DR Exchange server.
When I query the production Exchange server using the Tracking Log explorer and only choose the EventID ‘RECEIVED’ that should show me the amount of data that has been committed to the database.
If I choose a date range that is the same exact range that I have used to capture the raw data with my sniffer the amount of data the sniffer shows crossing the wire is 10 fold compared to what the Tracking Log Explorer shows.
If I actually count up the data in the LOG files it is about 20% more than what is crossing the wire but that seems to be because the DAG is compressing the data.
If in a one hour timeframe there is 500MB of data crossing the wire to the DR Exchange server the tracking log explorer will show only 50MB.
I would like to know why the data crossing the wire far exceeds the amount of data that is truly being sent/received from the primary exchange server.
Perhaps I’m simply not getting a true view of the amount of data being committed to the exchange server using the Tracking Log Explorer.
Maybe there is a better way to report how much data is being committed to the exchange databases.
    Any assistance would be appreciated…

    Two things.
1 - you must update Exchange to SP3 and a recent RU.  Willard has already provided the links, which point back to my blog if you want to see the lifecycle map for Exchange 2010.  SP1 has been out of support since January 2013.  Time to move
    on pllease
2 - Looking at the tracking log is not sufficient.  I would not expect that to show everything.
I want to know what traffic you see as excessive.  What ports are you seeing used here?
My money is on content indexing.  CI will use additional traffic over and above log repl traffic.  Expect CI traffic to be roughly the same again.  You can test this by disabling CI on the database or stopping the services on the DR server.
To disable the CI for the database:
    Set-MailboxDatabase DBName -indexEnabled $False
Or stop the Exchange search services on the DR box to leave production unaffected.
Again - you need to update Exchange.  You would be better to do that now rather than when something breaks and Microsoft support cannot fully assist you since you are not uptodate.    I'll leave discussion of the security issues resolved
    in recent Exchange RUs aside.

  • Xi Fi Platinum, in need of wires that connect the drive with the c

Hey I've had a xi fi platinum for more than a year now but only now am I attempting to use spdif optical rather than analog. the only way to do that is to connect the dri've (which previously i didn't have connected) to the card. but i lost the wires that connect the card to the dri've. does anyone know where I can get them, or if it is possible to purchase them from creative? or, is there another way to connect optical to the platinum?
    thanks a lot.

I was in the same boat a week ago. Have a look here:

Now a question for all of you digital experts. Is there any particular reason why the S/PDIF connection from the X-Fi to my HT receiver is sounding inferior to the S/PDIF connection from my DVD player? The cable run from the X-Fi output is a bit long (75 ft.), but I didn't think that would matter as it's impossible to distort a digital signal. Is there perhaps a setting in the audio console that is messing up the signal?
    Thanks,

The problem is that every few seconds separated the wireless network distributor WRT110 cut off the Internet !!!
what is the cause of this problem?!!
Another point that the Internet has become slow across the wireless network in both routers,, what is the reason of that?!!

I have worked as your good advice, Now i have a strong network and the Internet has become a quick .
I would understand some things about our preparations:
    * is should the channel be different in those routers, and what would happen if they were on the same channel ?
    * My wireless networks are not protected now, its un safe .. What is the best encryption of the wireless network .. Do you use the WEP or WAP, including what is the difference ?
    * What are the steps to be followed by encryption in both the routers the main WAG54GX2 & WRT110?
    * Why we change Fragmentation in WRT110

  • Hing conected to monitor case and wires broken on HP Pavilion dv6-6c13cl

    Hello,
I have a monitor with broken hing/monitor case and the wires that connect the monitor to the computer is also broken. (I know I droped it in is such way that the monitor is okay but the hings broken from over extension.)
I need to replace the monitor case.  The monitor works but the wire that comes out of it is in bad condition, needs either repair or placement.
    Basically what I need are
    1. The part number of the case with the hings.
    2.  The wire that connects the monitor to the computer, Or I can replace the monitor and I have found p/n  from this forum which is 665334-001  I belive.
    Thank you

    You need one of these:

The whole screen assembly with hinges is not a single part; you have to order multiple parts.
Here is a complete screen assembly with hinges and the cable for $107 plus shipping:

  • What is the Laymans Explanation of the Term BT Lin...

If someone could explain, in the simplest terms,
    A.  What is meant by "Linear Multicast Channels" (please no links !!) and what are its advantages over what we presently have with our present BT Vision service
    B. Do any other providers use this system at the moment
    C. (i) Do any BT Vision Boxes presently in use, use this system NOW. (ii ) if not, are any boxes already pre equiped NOW to be able to use this system when its rolled out, (iii) if so, which present boxes have this capability
I ask this basic question as this subject is often discussed on this forum and I haven't a clue what it really means.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    A) Linear multicast channels are live broadcasts over the internet. So, for example, BBC1HD will be coming to you over the wire rather than the aerial. Multicast is a one to many transmission mechanism which means that the channel only has to be sent over the network once and anyone who wants it picks it up as it comes in. This is distinct from Unicast which means that each device which wants the broadcast has its own copy flying across the network which doesn't scale well for mass communication. Multicast needs specialised hardware on the network to make it happen.
    B) There are other providers which offer live channels over the internet, but whether they're using uni- or multi-cast, I know not. I seem to be remember reading that the other providers don't allow recording of the channels (yet), however BT are going the whole hog and allowing 2 channels to be recorded. Things may have moved on, though, so willing to be corrected on the first bit.
    C) Any of the boxes running the new software can be easily upgraded to get the multicast channels. There are people on this board who are receiving them. Any black boxes running the old software need to be upgraded to the new software first. Silver boxes can't run the necessary software. YouView boxes can't yet until the software is available later in the year.
    Any further confusion, just ask.

  • Hotmail Security, the default configuration through the wizard uses SSL?

I was wondering if there is a way to check the server settings used by the default wizard when you add an hotmail account to your device (iPad , iPhone or others). The main concern is if it uses actually the SSL encryption or not. I think so and I hope so but I'm not sure 100%. If you go to check it there's not an advanced tab under Mail/Account/nameofaccount/ so you can't see that. Thanks to everyone!

Should this be a security concern that I am using the
default keystore that comes with the JVM. Is my data
still be encrypted? When you say, "default keystore", I assume that you mean the "cacerts" file. If so, you're OK. "cacerts" identifies root CAs that your client is willing to trust. Web sites whose site-certs are signed by one of the root CA in cacerts (i.e., Verisign, Thawte, et. al.) will be trusted by JSSE.
SSL generates shared-keys anew for each new session. The data used to generate this "shared secret" is protected; unless the Bad Boy between you and the server has access to the SERVER's private key, that info is safe. Your data is encrypted over the wire, and only the destination web-server will be able to decrypt it.

i created boolean references in my main vi block diagram and copied them to my sub vi front panel. when wire my reference in my main vi to one the input node of the sub vi the wire is broken. the error says its a class conflict why?

    Expanding and clarifying what BJD said;
After you create the temporary sub-VI that BJD mentioned, open its front panel and copy the reference control that LV created when it created the sub-VI.
This reference control will be correct class etc that you need. Use the control to replace the original control that you were attempting to wire up.
The technique of "create sub-VI...copy" always works for me.
There is one more thing that you should watch out for.
The mechanical action of the boolean can not be set for latch action when attempting to read the value using a value property node.

I'm guessing you created the Enum on the front panel.  If you right-click it and create an indicator, it will match the type, and be an enum.  LabVIEW represents enums as U16, but because the types aren't identical (for example, your enum has 3 values, but a U16 has 65,536 values), LabVIEW automatically coerces (or converts) the smaller (enum) representation into the larger (U16) value.
