Why no Update yet even though Mavericks full of Finder bugs

In the Finder We have problems with Windows, folders(they stubborn and don't want to move where you move them), and regarding web related operations TEXT operations and Text Edit, you can no longer Copy text and images from a webpage and Pasting them to a Text Edit document. The text is really small and the images are not transferred. Especially if you do it with Firefox.. The only way you can highlight text and images from a webpage and copy them into a text file is to use SAFARI.. and then highlight the text and images in the webpage and press... COMMAND + C+ CTRL and it has to be in that order... one after the other..and hold each key..
Printing is weird too. The Text Edit Text looks good in your monitor but when you preview it for Print Preview it's super huge..So then you have to go back to your document and make the text tiny.
That and other problems including files and folders becoming invisible when you drop them accidentally into other files or something.
Why are we still on 10.9.5 with no update??? Isn't it time for an update to fix things?

oh Great Does it fix many of the things from Mavericks? And what if you have installed things in Mavericks like a thing that adds folder functions and stuf like that. And i have a Mac Pro 2.66 Gzh Quad Core IntelXeon. from 2009. 10GB
I heard that yosemete is not good for the older macs. I wonder if mine is considered old

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.

I figured out the problem.
This is going to sound a little crazy, but I've spent a lot of time on this one.
There's some kind of incompatibility with Lion and Seagate ST31000340AS drives. I was trying to install Lion on these drives and it would consistently fail. I've also tried to use these drives in a RAID volume. No go. I tried three different drives of this model. All of them failed.
I tried to install Lion on a Seagate ST31000528AS and it worked first time and sings beautifully.

Shockwave Player 12.0.7.148 prompts for an auto update. Even though Auto Update is disabled.

We have been re-packaging Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0.7.148. Application is prompting to upgrade new version i.e. auto update even though auto update functionality is disabled. Can any one please help in this? When we right click on shockwave frame over an internet page and check the properties, we can see an Autoupdate is supress.

Thank you for your reply. Like I said in my post, I have been having this issue since the summer of 2011, when I was still using regular firefox. In fact, I had made the switch to Aurora in the hopes that this would be solved, given the ongoing changes to the update process. Going back to regular Firefox, which seems to be your only suggestion, would therefore not solve my problem, and it would rob me of the opportunity to enjoy and give feedback on other new features.
In addition, like I said in my original post, I have tried several of the most common ways of dealing with such issues, to no avail. After an extensive search, I also couldn't find anybody else with this bug. That is why I turned to this support forum. If you know of a way this problem could be solved, I would very much appreciate it.

My iPhone 4s on the latest update freezes even after a full restore.. is it gone?

At first, my iPhone 4s completely froze and I was unable to turn it on (even after holding power/home button--the apple logo would come on and then it would just turn off). I wasn't able to get it into restore or DFU mode. After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery. I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on. If I unplug the phone and then hold down the power and home buttons for about 20 seconds, it restarts and shows the apple logo and shows the initial lock screen. If I let it scroll through the different languages for the "slide to unlock" text, it gets to what looks like japanese or chinese and then freezes. I then have to hold power+home again to restart it. If I slide it immediately when it shows up, it initially froze right away--but after another restart, it worked. I then am able to set it up and get to the wall of apps screen. From there, the phone worked for about half a day and then it froze up again (black screen, couldn't wake it up, stuck at apple logo and then just turns off).
I then was able to restore it AGAIN (on my own personal computer with a fresh install of itunes, I'm doing this for a friend) but the same symptoms persist--it will freeze if I don't unlock it right away, it freezes once when I unlock it right away, and after another restart, it gets through setup and to the wall of apps. The first time I set it to restore from iCloud and re-installed all of her apps. This time, I signed in with her Apple ID and enabled iCloud but did not download any of her old apps. When I go to the apple store, under featured and top apps its just a blank white screen but when I search for an app it does show results. As of right now (30 minutes after restore) it IS working, but it worries me that the same bugs happened after a restore. I feel it's only a matter of hours before the phone freezes up again and requires a restore.
She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old). Help keep an iPhone fan! Do these problems sound familiar to anyone? I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it--I just wanted to get some opinions on if this phone is even worth working on more than I already have since the issues remain even after multiple full restores.

Sorry, your repair ruined the iPhone.
She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.

Why animation keeps breaking even though CPU usage oscilate between 60-90%?

I made a simple animation.
In standalone player there is no breaking, but in browser every few seconds it stops and jumps, even though through all the time CPU usage never exceeds 100% but oscillate between 60 and 90%.
I tested it on two machines, both dual core above 4 GHz and result is the same.
Any ideas why and what to to to fix it?

Optimization Techniques
Unfortunately, I know of no completely satisfactory way to organize this information. In what follows, I discuss memory management first with sub-topics listed in alphabetical order. Then I discuss CPU/GPU management with sub-topics listed in alphabetical order.
That may seem logical but there are, at least, two problems with that organization.
I do not believe it is the most helpful way to organize this information.
Memory management affects CPU/GPU usage, so everything in the Memory Management section could also be listed in the CPU/GPU section.
Anyway, I am going to also list the information two other ways, from easiest to hardest to implement and from greatest to least benefit.
Both of those later listings are subjective and are dependent on developer experience and capabilities, as well as, the test situation and test environment. I very much doubt there would be a consensus on ordering of these lists. Nevertheless, I think they still are worthwhile.
Easiest to Hardest to Implement
Do not use Filters.
Always use reverse for-loops and avoid do-loops and avoid while-loops.
Explicitly stop Timers to ready them for gc (garbage collection).
Use weak event listeners and remove listeners.
Strictly type variables whenever possible.
Explicitly disable mouse interactivity when mouse interactivity not needed.
Replace dispatchEvents with callback functions whenever possible.
Stop Sounds to enable Sounds and SoundChannels to be gc'd.
Use the most basic DisplayObject needed.
Always use cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix with air apps (i.e., mobile devices).
Reuse Objects whenever possible.
Event.ENTER_FRAME loops: Use different listeners and different listener functions applied to as few DisplayObjects as possible.

Iphoto continues to show up in the Updates folder even though it is installed

I have the update system telling me on my MacBook Pro that Iphoto needs an upadte even though in the panel it shows it as installed and will not re-install the update. How do I get rid of this annoying reminder?

If it's any consolation I've had this happen on one of my machines. It went away after a day or two. If that's not enough for you then contact App Store support. It an App Store issue really, not an iPhoto one.

PowerBook Pro turns off when AC adapter detached even though battery full

Big problem. If my AC cord comes loose and I don't realize it, my computer will just die after about 15 minutes even though the battery meter reads full.

E71 NAM firmware, why no update yet

Why does it take so long for Nokia to release the firmware updates for unlocked NAM phones?
There was a firmware release in March and it's still not available for my NAM product code.

Every time I log on it tells me I must update firefox even though I have updated already.

Although I have updated to the current Mozilla Firefox and also the current Thunderbird download, EACH time I log onto Mozilla, I get a notification for a Firefox Software updater. I am not the only one getting this. My husband is too. This is extremely annoying. I have gone to the homepage and downloaded the current edition so I know I am up to date. How do I get this off? I even tried the option of going to Tools and taking it off the auto update but it still showed up, so I switched it back.

Why the contract extension even after paying full price? Unlimited Grandfathered user!

So, I'm a grandfathered unlimited user. I just placed an order for iPhone 6 at apple.com, and i'm willing to pay the full price for the phone. But why does apple.com show that i'll still be signing a 2 year contract and paying a 30 dollar upgrade fee to verizon? Isn't it bad enough that i'm having to pay full price on the phone?
Or am I missing something here?

Because Apple and Best Buy etc. Do not have full access to your Verizon wireless account.
You must either visit a Verizon corporate store or call or use Verizon wireless web portal to get your device. Not a reseller.

Neither Firefox nor Thunderbird update automatically even though the settings are correct; the udates just "hang"

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

New iPhone 6 asks for my girlfriends password to update apps, even though the phone is connected to my itunes account?

My phone is hooked up to my iTunes account, but when i go to update apps, it asks for my girlfriends iTunes password? I only go the phone today, but havent had this trouble before with iPhone 4 or 5.

If that's the case you may have to disable wifi syncing in her user account using her iTuens library. I'm really not sure though. If someone does, hopefully they'll jump in here. The problem with chaning libraries is that when you do, iTunes will delete any iTunes media on the phone and replace it with the media in the iTunes library you sync with so hopefully this won't be necessary.
