Why PS_TXN transaction sequence is configured as 50 by defult

Please can you help me understand why PS_TXN_SEQ is configured as 50 by default ...
generally it should be set it as 1
Thanks for your inputs
Sreeni

looks like the sequence "increment by" param configured as "1 increment by 50".
Database Objects Used For Application Module State Management
The PS_TXN Table
The PS_TXN table stores snapshots of pending changes made to BC4J application module instances. The table manages the B-Tree storage of rows. The snapshot information is stored as an XML document that encodes the unposted changes in an application module instance. Only pending data changes are stored in the snapshot, along with information about the current state of active iterators (i.e. "current row" pointers information). The value of the COLLID column corresponds to the value returned by the ApplicationModule.passivateState() method.
The PS_TXN_SEQ Sequence
This sequence is used to assign the next persistent snapshot Id for Application Module pending state management. If the PS_TXN table contains any rows at the time this sequence is created, the sequence is created so that is STARTS WITH the integer that is one greater than the MAX(COLLID) value from the rows in PS_TXN.

    Procedure
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

    Pricing Procedure
In SD, Pricing Procedure is determined based on Sales Area (Sales Organization + Distribution Centre + Division) + Customer Pricing Procedure + Document Pricing Procedure. Sales Area is determined in Sales Order Header Level. Customer Pricing Procedure is determined from Customer Master. Document Pricing Procedure is determined from Sales Document Type / Billing Type (if configured). Once the pricing procedure is determined, Condition records are fetched. If appropriate condition records are found, the price is determined. If Mandatory pricing condition is missing, system will through an error message.
In SD, the steps to configure Pricing procedure are as under:
    Step 1:
Condition table: If existing condition table meets the requirement, we need not create a new condition table. Considering the requirement for new condition table, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Condition Table (select the required fields combination, which will store condition record).
    Step 2:
Access Sequence: If existing access sequence meets the requirement, we need not create a new access sequence. Considering the requirement for new sequence, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Access Sequence (Access sequence is made up of Accesses (Tables) & the order of priority in which it is to be accessed. Here we assign the condition table to access sequence.
    Step 3:
Condition Type: If existing condition type meets the requirement, we need not create a new condition type. Considering the requirement for new condition type, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Condition Type. It is always recommended to copy an existing similar condition type & make the neccessary changes. Here we assign Access sequence to Condition type.
    Step 4:
    a. Pricing Procedure: It is recommended to copy a similar pricing procedure & make the neccesary changes in new pricing procedure. Pricing Procedure is a set of condition type & arranged in the sequence in which it has to perform the calculation. Considering the requirement for new Pricing Procedure, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Pricing Procedure --> Maintain Pricing Procedure.
    b. Pricing Procedure: After maintaining the pricing procedure the next step will be determination of pricing procedure. Configuration for determining pricing procedure in SPRO is as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Pricing Procedure --> Determine Pricing Procedure.
    5. Condition record: Condition record is a master data, which is required to be maintained by Core team / person responsible from the client. During new implementation, the condition records can be uploaded using tools like SCAT, LSMW, etc.
    Normal Sales Order Cycle:-
    Step 1: Sales Document Type
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents >
    Sales Document Header:
    1. Sales Document Type:The sales document types represent the different business transactions, such as Inquiry, Quotation, Sales Order, etc. To create new sales order type, always copy as with reference to similar sales order. If possible use standard sales order.
    2. Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents: Maintain number range with discussion with core team.
    3. Assign Sales Area To Sales Document Types:
    A. Combine sales organizations / Combine distribution channels / Combine divisions: Ensure to maintain these, else Sales Order creation will give error.
    B. Assign sales order types permitted for sales areas: Assign only required Sales Order Types to required Sales Area. This will minimize selection of Sales Order Type as per sales area.
    Sales Document Item:
    1. Define Item Categories: If possible use Standard Item Category. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Assign Item Categories: If possible, use standard. Formula for deriving item category: Sales Document Type + Item Category Group + Usage + Higher Level Item Category = Item Category
    Schedule Line:
    1. Define Schedule Line Categories: If possible use Standard Schedule Lines. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Assign Schedule Line Categories: If possible, use standard. Formula for deriving Schedule Line: Item Category + MRP Type / No MRP Type.
    Step 2:
    IMG > Logistic Execution > Shipping > Deliveries >
    1. Define Delivery Types: If possible use Standard Delivery Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Define Item Categories for Deliveries: If possible use Standard Item Categories for Delivery Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    3. Define Number Ranges for Deliveries: Ensure to maintain number range.
    Step 3:
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Billing >
    1. Define Billing Types: If possible use Standard Billing Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.
    2. Define Number Range For Billing Documents: Ensure to maintain number range.
    3. Maintain Copying Control For Billing Documents: Maintain relevant copy controls such as Sales Order to Billing, Deliver to Billing, etc.

  • Why APO transaction data is not stored in tables

    Hi All,
Why APO transaction data is not stored in tables.
    can u explain me.
    Babu

    Good question Babu,
There indeed are tables for master data in APO database whereas the transaction data (qty, amount, dates and document numbers) are stored in a denormalized data base called livecache. But the master data too is identified with GUID's.. a cryptic and unique number given to e.g. a location, prodcuct, t/lane, customer and documents. This is because of speed of access if e.g. an external system is to fetch an information from APO using a unique session ID, instead of making a sequential read in APO tables, it read the live cache by called the GUID's that the calling characterics of the event. If one or more ECC system or an external execution system is connected to APO and one of the system collapses and rebuild again or if a system is assigned to a new business system group etc.. then its likely that systems can be out of sync and its where the live cache syncs up the data with APO tables again. If you still want to see tables in human readable format.. there are views available e..g the tables for locations LOCID and table for products MATLOC would take only GUID as inputs but the view V_MATLOC will show you the materials and locations by the numbers you know.
Hope I was able to explain. But yes the why part is still something of a mystery to me.. becasue with transparent tables it is easier to create local reports in APO and thats what probably SAP doesnt want. SAP can answer best as to what were the initial user and commercial considerations when developing APO

    Hello,
I had similar problem standard seq reached max limit. I could not book sales order. Solution from metalink was simple alter seq.

    MAXVALUE
Specify the maximum value the sequence can generate. This integer value can have 28 or fewer digits. MAXVALUE must be equal to or greater than START WITH and must be greater than MINVALUE.

  • Maintaining transaction sequence when End system is down

    Dear All,
<b>Maintaining transaction sequence when systems are down.</b>
    Scenario:
    SAP(IDocs)--> XI --> DB
DB is up & running, so messages (msg1, msg2) sent by XI have been processed successfully by DB.
At a particular instance, DB is down and the messages (msg3, msg4) failed at receiver Adapter. With SP15, we got the feature of restarting these messages after a specific period of time. (Let’s say after every 1hour).
After 5 minutes the DB is up and messages (msg5, msg6) sent by XI have been successfully processed by DB.
After 1 hour, the receiver adapter restarts the failed messages (msg3, msg4) and they get processed successfully.
Now the order in which messages have been processed on the DB:
    Msg1, Msg2, Msg5, Msg6, Msg3,Msg4
As messages have not been processed in the sequence they have come from the source system, this would lead to DB inconsistencies.
Kindly suggest how we can overcome this in XI. I don't want to use another Message Oriented Middlware(MOM) like MSMQ, MQSI for this.

Why does it say "The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel." when trying to install itunes64installer on my b4 bit windows 7 acer pc? Any help would be much appreciated...

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • AIR Help - Why is Print Sequence Disabled?

    Hi all,
I have experimented with a copy of a client's Help system in
both RH7 w/packager and the RH8 trial, generating output to the AIR
Help format. After generating & installing the .air package,
and viewing the new .exe help file, I notice the following: Click
the dropdown next to the Print icon and three options are listed
(Print this page, Print sequence, Print entire Help). No matter
what is selected below, Print sequence is always unavailable
(grayed out). This is the case when I generate with either version.
Am I missing something in the settings?
    Thanks,
    Katie
    Katie Carver
    Senior Technical Writer

    Hi all
In addition to what my colleague and fellow Adobe Community
Expert Peter suggested, I read this thread and am inferring that
perhaps Katie doesn't fully understand how Browse Sequences work.
Particularly in WebHelp. So I see this could impact the operation
    of things.
Please allow me to try and explain.
A Browse Sequence is merely a pre-defined path that traverses
two or more topics so that they are presented in a logical order.
You said that you created a Browse Sequence using the Auto-create
feature so I'm assuming you now have several different sequences.
This is because until you change the number of Book levels, you end
up with several sequences. If you wanted a single sequence that
spanned all of the TOC, you would need to auto-create the sequence
and specify 0 as the book levels.
That bit will hopefully help you sort the sequence creation.
Now let's address the sequence *USE*.
When you have created WebHelp output by clicking File >
Generate Primary Layout (assuming the primary is WebHelp) you see
four or five intermediate dialogs that allow you to specify
different parameters that govern how that layout is created.
Typically on the second dialog is an option for Browse Sequences.
So once you have created a sequence, you have to remember to enable
it in WebHelp in order to see it work. At this point, I'm thinking
you *MAY* have done this but it isn't clear. After all, if you have
never used them before, you may not have realized you needed to do
this step. You also may not realize how the sequence appears in
    WebHelp.
So once you have defined the sequence and told WebHelp to
present it, you generate and the sequence is presented as two icons
in the "Navigation mini-toolbar". The little toolbar that sits
majestically perched at the top of the TOC, Index, Search, Glossary
and just below the main toolbar. So here's why you may think it's
not working in WebHelp. The behavior of the Previous and Next icons
will change depending on which topic you are viewing. If the topic
presented in the Topic pane is part of a sequence, one or both of
the buttons will be enabled. If the topic is the *FIRST* topic of a
sequence, the Next button will be enabled but Previous will not be.
This is because you cannot go further backward. The topic begins
the sequence. Assuming there are more than two topics in the
sequence, you click the Next button and the next topic in the
sequence is presented in the topic pane. This should then cause the
Previous button to enable and work when you click it. Once the last
topic in a sequence is presented, the Next button disables as you
    cannot go further.
The bottom line here is that if you are displaying a topic
that is not part of a browse sequence, bot buttons will be disabled
    and dead to the user.
Now shift focus to AIR Help. It seems reasonable to me that
if the AIR Help is presenting a topic that isn't part of the Browse
Sequence, just as WebHelp disables both the Previous and Next
buttons in the mini toolbar, AIR Help may disable the Print
    Sequence feature.
Now that it's hopefully clear how this all works, please
ensure you are displaying a topic that is included in a Browse
Sequence and see if you now have an available option. I'm not
looking at AIR Help at the moment as I have no access to RoboHelp
    8. So you might be seeing a bug or you might find it now works as
designed. Only you can say for certain.
Keep in mind that when you create AIR Help, I believe it has
to be installed after created in order to see it work. So just to
be on the safe side, after you ensure things are configured as
outlined, try generating to a different output file name, then
    install and test that.

  • Yellow transaction sequence block for Bapi call

I am beginning upgrading MII from version 12.0 to 12.1.  When I imported my MII project to version 12.1, I get one BAPI call sequence that is yellow and the transaction does not execute.  It works fine in version 12.0, but something is wrong in version 12.1.  It is not a custom transaction.
The JRA Session Action is called JRA_Start_Session and when I try to execure the transaction, I get the following Error:
[ERROR] [JRA_Start_Session] Link ('JRA_Start_Session.Language' [Assign] from "Transaction.Language") execution threw an exception. Exception: [Variable does not exist: JRA_Start_Session.Language]
[INFO] Transaction Termination Request: [User: MSCOTT] [Reason: Variable does not exist: JRA_Start_Session.Language] [Message: Variable does not exist: JRA_Start_Session.Language]
    [INFO] Statistics [Load = 67 ms msec, Parse = 67 ms, Execution = 2 ms, Total = 81 ms]
Both the new version and the old version of MII are pulling for the same data sources, so I'm not sure why 12.0 would work and 12.1 won't.  Maybe a known bug??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Mike.  I am waiting on some help to try the steps you listed.
In further testing, we have been able to get some of the data from the BAPI, but not all of it.  We have also noticed that some of the data paths have changed.  For example, the "components" variable that was located in this location in version 12.0:
    {/BAPI_PRODORD_GET_DETAIL/INPUT/ORDER_OBJECTS/INPUT/COMPONENTS}
Is located here after importing the project into version 12.1:
    {/BAPI_PRODORD_GET_DETAIL/INPUT/ORDER_OBJECTS/COMPONENTS}
Does this information mean anything to you?  I did find some forum posts about JRA issues related to NW 7.1.6 and MII 12.1.8.  What I'm seeing is that to use MII 12.1.8, we have to roll back to NW 7.1.5.
Can you tell me if this is still accurate?

  • Why clone the default JRA configuration?

When I follow the xMII install guide, I see a step called "Cloning the Def ault JRA Configuration".
Why is this necessary?  I did not see this for a pure Java system install.
    Could you kindly explain?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards.

    Hi,
I have used JRA Cloning in SAP MII 12.1.6
As per my knowledge when you want to use JRA action blocks in SAP MII Workbench under transaction.
In JRA Start session action block you need to configure JRA Connector Name which contains following info.
Than you need to configure clone of default JRA in which we will pass all SAP system (to which you want to communicate)details like
    SAPClient
The SAP ECC client number to which you want to connect
    UserName
The SAP ECC-defined user for the communication
    Password
The SAP ECC-defined password for your user name
    Language
The logon language for the user
    ServerName
The SAP ECC server URL as it resolves on your network (Fully Qualified)
    PortNumber
The SAP ECC-defined system number to which you are connecting
just for understaning as we pass different parameter in JCO action blocks like  client, username, password etc..
    Hope this help

  • Why did I fail to configure ODBC cartridge of Oracle Application Server 3.0.1 Advance

Firstly, sorry that I don't know if this question is suit for this forum.
Now I want to query oracle8 database through ODBC cartridge of OWAS. My software environment is: Oracle Application Server 3.0.1 Advanced Version, Oracle8 Enterprise Edition 8.0.4. They are installed in a winNT server.
First I installed oracle8 ODBC on this server and configure it successfully(that means I can query Oracle8 through ODBC). Then I configured ODBC cartridge in application server administration. In this process, I don't configure ODBCCartridge specific parameters because I don't known which parameter need to be configured. Last I restart WRB, LISTENER(Admin). I input the URL in Navigator 4.o as the following: Http://tpdcserver.tpdc:8888/odbc/tableprint?database=oracle8&dsn=oracle_data&username=system&password=manager&sql=select+fromALL_USERS
It displayed no correct page but error information: OWB-02002 Driver Failed.
I don't know why. Please tell me. Thank you very much!

  • Problem with transaction CUNI and configuring decimal places

Note: I'm actually an ABAP programmer and do not know almost anything about SAP configuration.
Note2: Sorry if this was posted in the wrong section. I am trying to avoid an ABAP solution so I did not post this in the ABAP section.
Note3: Sorry for cross posting. I'm trying to make this visible to as much experts as possible.
    \[Problem\]
I'm tasked to increase the number of decimal places that a certain standard program in MM accepts.
    \[ABAP solution I'm trying to avoid\]
The consultants' initial recommendation was to make Z copies of the standard table and the standard programs that references that table. This would be rather dangerous as there is the risk of missing certain parts of the code If I was to replace all occurences of the old standard table with my custom Z table.
    \[Standard solution I'm trying to do\]
Now I've read several threads here that makes use of transaction CUNI to adjust decimal places of certain units of measure (see Re: Unit Of Measure problem and change decimal places in PO quantity). However, when I tried it, It does not work the way I expect it to.
In SE11, I created a custom table that has a quantity field (length: 13, decimals: 3) and a unit field (length 3)
In CUNI, I created a new ISO code TST (for test). Then I created a new Unit of measure ZTT (ZTesT) which makes use of my ISO code TST. I set the decimal places to 6.
When I insert data into my custom table, instead of 6, the number of decimal places remain at 3.
Please help in adjusting decimal places without touching the table.

    Hello Dzed,
I've read several posts that suggest transaction CUNI to adjust decimal places in standard unit of measures. What I tried is a simplified simulation of what is needed.
In a more realistic sense, consider table VBRP and column FKIMG. What If I want to store items in VBRP and allow 6 decimal places for FKIMG but I am not allowed to modify the table? Is making a Z copy of VBRP the only solution? Or is there a more standard way of doing this?
My worry is that If I copy a table, I also need to copy the programs that use it and modify them accordingly. Our Basis do not want the standard tables touched.

  • Why am I unable to Configure Database Mail?

To Anyone who can help -- I am following the self-paced training kit for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Implementation and Maintenance written by Mike Hotek and have entered the following code as requested:  ( Note that I have italicized the
    code & message )
    EXEC sp_configure ‘Database Mail XPs’,1
    GO
    RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE
    GO
When I execute this code I get the following message:
    Msg 15123, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_configure, Line 51
The configuration option 'Database Mail XPs' does not exist, or it may be an advanced option.
Admittedly I am very new to SQL Server -- the only thing I can figure why this is not working is because I did not check the Reporting Services box when I installed the SQL Server
2008 Enterprise software, as I was following the instructions as close as possible.  The other possibility is I downloaded a different database than what was asked, although I have no idea how that would affect my outcome.  Thank you to anyone
    who can help!
Oh yeah, I don't know if this helps but I am running Windows Vista, w/ Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU processor 2.50GHz
& 4GB of RAM and it is a 64-bit system...  Thanks again!

    please try  this---
    ----- First run below script
EXEC sp_configure 'Show Advanced Options', 1
    RECONFIGURE
    WITH OVERRIDE
    go

  • Why does WebUtil needs AS configurations?

If we have to only attache the WebUtil.PLL and sub-class the webutil.olb to the form and place the frmwebutil.jar in the \%Oracle Dev Home%\forms\java then why do we need such a complicated set-up in the app server (like signing with JACOB which I really don't understand)? Do we have to install any Java components in the DB also?
Can anybody explain to me what happens when a 10g Release 2 Form tries to read an Excel sheet from the client machine? In simple steps can you plese explan what WebUtil components are called and where those components are (client/app server/DB machine)? How does the application server come into play when a Form reads from an Excel sheet in the client machine because the Excel sheet is in the client machine and NOT in the app. server or DB machine?
Please pardon my ignorence in this. I tried reading the documentation (PDFs and web-pages) but I could not figure how it works.
    Edited by: user12240205 on Apr 29, 2011 6:06 AM

then why do we need such a complicated set-up in the app server (like signing with JACOB which I really don't understand)?JACOB stands for JAva-COm Bridge. This is the mechanism by which Oracle Forms is able to interact with the Client workstation and call Windows COM Automation components. Without the JACOB library (.jar) WebUtil would not work. You have to sign the jacob.jar because your application is deployed over the web.
Do we have to install any Java components in the DB also?No - you only need the WebUtil database package.
Can anybody explain to me what happens when a 10g Release 2 Form tries to read an Excel sheet from the client machine?Forms uses the Webutil Client_OLE2 package to communicate with Excel using Windows COM methods. As I mentioned above, without the JACOB library, WebUtil would not be able to communicate with Excel using COM.
In simple steps can you plese explan what WebUtil components are called and where those components are (client/app server/DB machine)?Rather than explain each step, there are numerous demo's on the internet and in Oracle's Forms Demos that demonstrate how to use WebUtil. It is also a very common topic in the Forums. I recommend you look at WebUtil - A Simplified guide to understanding WebUtil. Also take a look at Forms: How to Read an Excel file into a Form for an example of how to interact with Excel.
How does the application server come into play when a Form reads from an Excel sheet in the client machine because the Excel sheet is in the client machine and NOT in the app. server or DB machine?{qoute}The Application Server (AS) is simply the transport mechanism to deliver the JACOB Java Library to the Client. When a Forms interacts with Excel - everything occurs on the client. Depending on what you are attempting to do, the AS may never be involved with a WebUtil transaction on the client. Now, if you need to upload a file or store a client image in the database then the AS and the Database server would become involved.
    Hope this helps,

  • Transaction VC/2 configurations

    I guys,
I had a requirement to add an info-block to the display of transaction VC/2.
I have created the new info-block in an include.
Could anybody please tell me what are the required configurations to do to be able to add the new info block to a view? It seems that the table to be updated is T182A.
    Thanks.

Does anybody know whether there is a transaction to insert a record in table T182A.
