Why the high charges, Verizon?

I used my 4 LTGE approximately 30 times, once a day, for about one minute each time. Then ALWAYS turned the wifi OFF. So, please explain these high charges on my bill.

Unfortunately you actually answered your own question. You turn cellular data off! Not Wifi.
Wifi is free and does not go against your data allotment however cellular data 4G LTE does go against your usage.
You have to pay attention to what you are doing. Not Verizons fault this time.
Good Luck

  • Unlock orange phone to ee. Why the admin charge?

I'm a little bit disappointed to find out that it's going to cost me an admin fee to unlock a phone which was previously on Orange to work with tmobile (ee).
Aren't they all the same company now? If so, then why are they charging their customers a fee to unlock phones which they intend to continue to use with ee? Seems like just another way to get money out of their loyal customers.
I'm looking to unlock a iPhone previously on orange. You can't tell me there isn't an nearly automated way to handle this request by now and somehow I doubt there is much work involved in doing so.

Hi I am a long standing customer of Orange/EE and upgraded my phone June 2015.  Today I have received an invoice from Orange for £8.99 for an unlocking charge.  A quick search reveals Orange and EE are all part of the same company so why the charge? I haven't changed Company. I am interested to know if anyone has pursued this with them and what the outcome was before I contact them.

  • Why very higher charge than T-Mibile?

According to T-mobile family plans, 3 lines are for $90.00 only.  My monthly payment is for 180.00 (3 lines).  2 times expenses.  Do you know why?

Depends on how much traveling you do.  If you don't travel to or through rural areas and only stick to major cities, T mobile is fine.  When I travel with someone with Tmobile the difference in coverage is very obvious and significant.  Putting up towers in low population areas is expensive and low repayment, so overall costs are higher.

  • LR4 World wide pricing - why the differences ?

Could someone please advise as to why the $79 upgrade offer from previous LR versions is only available in the U.S., Canada and Mexico ?
When trying to order the latest version the appropriate link  allows only purchases from the above 3 countries. To download it from Adobe's Australian site the cost is $20 dearer.
As it doesn't cost any more to download software from America, Great Britain or South East Asia, why the extra charge ?
Can someone  please clarify the situation.
One can only assume that Adobe Australia is making a very handsome profit on it's software sales !!!

Why do vendors charge different prices for the same products in different markets?
    Becasue they can.
Need to know more?  All vendors will try to segment the market as far as they can to ensure they charge the most that segment will bear.  Geographical segmentation is a particularly easy one.  But many web vendors now use software to segment shoppers.  For example, if you use a Mac you may be charged more than if you use a PC (or not get offered so many discounts), as vendors consider Mac users are generally more affluent.  If you take ages to shop on a web site, and browse cheap products, you are more likely to be offered discounts than if you quickly select an item and go to check-out.  In the latter case you have already made the decision to buy, so no need to offer you a discount.
Tax and delivery charges can be a reason for differential prices, but are often not the only reason, and may not be the main reason.

  • If I buy an iPhone from the Apple website, and then go to Verizon to activate it, will it reset my 2 year contract? Also, will Verizon charge extra for activating since the price on Verizon is higher than the Apple website's price?

If I buy an iPhone from the Apple website, and then go to Verizon to activate it, will it reset my 2 year contract? Also, will Verizon charge extra for activating since the price on Verizon is higher than the Apple website's priceIt'
It's all very confusing to me, I need some answers from experienced customers.

I already checked. I purchased my iPhone 3G on the launch date back in July '08. I've paid the bill the day my bill was issued, days ahead of its due date, and for some reason, even through it's magic 8-ball wisdom, said I was not eligible for and upgrade. Not till Dec. of this year at least.
So even though my phone is now technically 'mine' and off their contract, they still won't unlock it for me? How come?

  • Why was I charged the activation fee?

I just joined Verizon this past weekend. We purchased 3 Samsung Galaxy S5's and The Edge 10gb plan. I was told by the CSR that there would not be any activation fees but I would see the sales tax of approx. $90 on my first bill. I was also told my bill would be $220 after discounts and taxes. I received my first bill at $493.10 yesterday.
#1 - Why was I charged the activation fees?
#2 - Why do your CSR's mislead your customers? I'm now being told that my monthly bill will be $267.00.
#3 - How can you allow the treatment of your customers to continue like this?

That so called tax seems kind of high? Activation fees are $35 not $30. There are upgrade fees of $30 for existing customers.
The first bill is pro rata of time used in advance and the days before the month in advance.
The cost of three devices on the edge plan are at least $25 a piece, which should be added in each month. So let's say your monthly plan costs are $160+tax+$75 for the three phones. Is $235+tax then it may be around $267 complete each month.
Never believe anything the service people tell you. Check your receipt and do not sign anything unless all you agree to is on it.
    Good Luck

  • Why Do The Regulatory Charges Change Every Month When Nothing Else Does?

    The charges for:
    Fed Universal Service Charge
    Regulatry Charge
In the Verizon Wireless' Surcharges change each month on each of the phone lines in my account.  None of the other charges change.  If they are based on a percentage they should stay the same if all other charges do.  If they are a flat amount why do they change every month?
I tried to use Live Chat but all agents are always busy.

They change every 3 months because every 3 months the FCC changes the rate. It never changes by much and this charge is pretty minor in the scheme of things. I doubt any increase in the fee amounts to much. And some months the fee goes DOWN. For the 1 year we had the same service with no changes our USF fee varied by no more than 5 cents per line.
Also if you add or subtract features the amount will change because that fee is percentage based. For the record the USF should drop a few cents for the next 3 months since the FCC lowered the rate.

  • Why doesnt the Ipad charge on the computer?

    Why?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Likely, your computer does not have the required high-power USB port.
    For more details, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4060
and this included reference to 'high power' (defined as more than 500 milliamps output) USB
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4049?viewlocale=en_US
Confirming what the other poster says, my older MacBook, lacking high-power USB, does charge the iPad 2 when connected despite the message, although at a very very slow rate. I've noticed that the iPad charge increases a by percent or two when connected for an hour or more.

  • Why would you charge me $40 for a supposedly free upgrade?Have been a faithful verizon customer for years went in for myfree upgrade and paid for a iphone and protectve cover now I have to pay a fee for a free service? I will start switching my devices to

Why would you charge me$40 for a free upgrade? I chose a iPhone and paid you the difference plus protective cover, now you want to charge  me a fee for activating a number I have had for years!!!  I have been a faithful Verizon customer for years but I will switch companies when my contracts are up or I can get a buy out from another company, your free upgrade is not free and is a false advertisement as far as I'm concerned

However you had already stated you did not choose a "free upgrade", but paid the difference for an iPhone. So much for your "free upgrade". Additionally, I was not aware Verizon was in the business of giving away "free service"(s)?????? Purchasing a "free" or "reduced price" phone IS NOT a free service. You sign a contract in exchange for receiving that benefit. There is an upgrade fee along with that service you are contracted to complete or you will be charged an early termination fee(ETF), so this IS NOT a free service.
Yes, you have a choice to go with another provider which ALSO charges an upgrade fee OR charges you full retail value for your phone. So much for a "free upgrade" there.
    AT&T = upgrade fee
    Sprint = upgrade fee
T-Mobile = no upgrade fee but must pay full retail cost for the phone
For what it is worth, you would not have had to pay an upgrade fee had you simply paid full retail cost for your phone OR purchased it with Edge at full retail cost. Depending on your calling plan and data allowance, you may have even ended up paying less for your phone had you done so. That is why a little research before you make a purchase can go a long way.
I know it is cheaper for me to pay full retail for a phone than to purchase a discounted device in exchange for signing a contract.
Good luck with the new provider.

  • I pre order Iphone 6 this morning. Why was I charged a $30 upgrade fee when I havent been in a contract for almost 2 years? Also will they divide the price of the device over several bills like they have for me in the past?

I pre order Iphone 6 this morning. Why was I charged a $30 upgrade fee when I havent been in a contract for almost 2 years? Also will they divide the price of the device over several bills like they have for me in the past?

Hi there nursegrl02! We can help here with your questions regarding the upgrade fee and device charge. The upgrade fee is a one time fee that is applied when upgrading with a 2-year contract. If you pre-order with a two-year contract, you would need to add a credit card to your order as you will be charged for the device once it ships out. If you happen to purchase the iPhone with Verizon Edge, there is no upgrade fee. You will also be billed for the device in installments. You may have to pay a down payment with Edge.  Go to vzw.com/edge for more information.
Did you upgrade with Verizon Edge or our Device payment plan in the past? If so, that is most likely why you were not charged an upgrade fee.
Let us know if you have further questions.

  • Why was I charged for Roaming on Verizon when I used internet call?

I just got my new iPhone 6 and still learning to use it.  3 days after I got the iPhone, I was overseas. I made several calls via Viber and WeChat but was charged by Verizon as roaming calls. I don't understand why since I dialed the calls within the Viber and WeChat apps and I had wifi connections. I got on the internet on the iPhone 6.
I just find out from Verizon that my iPhone 6 was set up for Roaming - Voice as standard. If my iPhone 6 had Cellular set to Roaming Voice Only, will Roaming take precedence over internet calling such as with Viber or WeChat?
I was very angry with Verizon since they set up my iPhone 6 for Roaming and I told the salesperson I would be traveling overseas. As a new user, I would not know that there was an option to turn Roaming off. Verizon refused to waive the roaming charges stating that the calls were made from my phone. This had been a very frustrating experience with Verizon. We had been a Verizon customer for over 20 years.

Are you sure the roaming charges are not for using the data to make the calls, and not roaming voice minutes? That would make more sense.  If you use Viber or WeChat overseas and are not connected to wifi at the time you make you call, the data will go over the cellular network and you will get very expensive roaming data charges. Also you should have just had cellular turned completely off and only use wifi. The best way to do this is put the phone in airplane mode and then only turn on wifi.

  • I am a customer Verizon customer of over ten years...I am notgettingany assistance from the customer service department. Since September I am being charged for a Samsung phone that I returned based on the process that verizon has set.return the defective

turn my phone to send Verizon wireless and those instead of the stuff found. I'm not in charge $600 for the for the phone. I'll talk to multiple customer service reps and nothing has really been done about anything other then we'll keep looking or so for stretching it out. since September I've been dealing with thison a month-to-month basis they cut my services they reinstate me and tell me that they're going to knock off the reconnection charge as I have four lines. Unfortunately my main reason for this phone is my work emails which I need to do because I do work and to contact my mother who is 85 years old and I'm the sole caregiver. I don't know what else to do. I have spoken to a supervisor  by the name of William or Will oats in that he said he was going to look into it and was going to help me out. Never heard from him again- just original email to quiet me down. I've been sending him emails just about every day trying to make sure that I get my message across. Seems like Verizon Wireless really doesn't care about the long-term customers. Looking forward to hearing from someone that can help me with my plight.process is faulty for returns. You don't accept them in the stores because as one customer service rep stated you can't get your own employees to send the devices back. Now the responsibilities is on the customer the paying customer the one that keeps you alive. And it's not fair that I there's no way I can prove that I put it in the mailbox. So what are my next stepswhat is it that I need to do to clear up this charge of $600. It's about economy as $600 to me at this very point it's a lot of money. I've been your customer for 10 years I've got four lines I've given will my mothers telephone number home number..number but now she's got to sit by the phone to make sure that she picks up all the calls. And nobody can hear what I have to sayand nobody has been able throughout all these months and check your notes check your notes to see how many times I've called how many time you cut my services how many times you reinstated me and how many times that I spent an hour and a half to two hours on the phone going through this process. I think the stress level is to know thqt I did exactly what you asked...I am now paying the price for your faulty process I'm all I'm asking is review my account tell me what I did wrong I follow your procedure so I don't understand....to top it off...my wife hasa per diem job...and she too is affected by loosing out on work leads...
as you can see, the cel is no longer a commodity. It's a way of life.
PLease se call me at -----just remembered....I don't have a service line.

I have a similar problem with my fathers service, it wasns't $600 but what is rightfully your money, you deserve it back, I wrote this complaint on the Consumer Affairs website:
In August 2014, my son went to Target to get a new cell phone and was told his Unlimited Data would still be on his plan (he shared a line on his grandfathers account). Well it turned out that Target messed it up and my son immediately called Verizon to get it taken care of but they were not able to do anything about the lost unlimited data but the customer service rep did try to find the best offer for him. In the mean time Verizon was suppose to send him a new cell phone, they never sent it and he was without a phone so he took his business to another cell provider. Verizon DID charge him for the new service that they had spoke about. So when the new bill (Sept) came, the service he never used was on the bill and when we called to inquire about it we spoke to a Judy and told us we would be receiving a credit of the amount that was paid. Well, we got the next months bill (Oct) and still no credit, so called them again and spoke to a Nadine ** . She looked into the account and saw the amount that was paid and said she would submit it again for a credit and she would get back to me in 2 days, no call back.
The next bill (Nov) came and no credit again, call again but didn't get the girls name and she put me on hold to look over the previous conversations. She said she sees in the records about the credit and said it takes a while to get it thru the supervisor authorization and she would put it in as a "rush priority". On Dec. 5th my dad's cell was turned off, so I call yet again to Verizon, and explain the whole story to them again. This girl explained to me that the request was not put in correctly and that she would submit it right this time, they even turned the cell back on for him.
So here we are today, Dec. 30, 2014, I get the bill...NO CREDIT, call up and get a gentleman in billing, explain this whole thing again and he transferred me over to customer service where I spoke to a Jordan and yet again told him the story. By this time I was fuming, 3 almost 4 months of calling for this credit and he looks into the account and tells me there is nothing that states there is a credit so all the other customer service reps see it but now it is gone. He said he can only issue me a $25 credit to the bill, not even close to what the bill was that I paid. At this point I wanted to speak to a Supervisor and even that was a problem.
He did call me back after my phone died. He put me on hold again to speak to a supervisor himself and said that he can only offer me $100 credit for all my troubles for the past few months. I took the $100 credit because Jordan said if I spoke to the supervisor, the $100 credit might not be an offer anymore so it was either take it or leave it. Now where I stand, they get away with NOT giving the credit due to customers. I am done with Verizon.
today being March 12, 2015, he FINALLY got the said $100 credit...but because of their delay, he service was shut off and I refuse to pay the reconnection fee due to their neglect of a customer of over ten years. My father's service will NO longer be with a place that has NO VALUE in customer service....Verizon robs their customers anyway they can.

    - Try restoring the iPod, first from backup and then try to factory settings/new iPod to rule out a software problem.
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.
    - Could you have damaged something when you took the iPod apart and replaced the Home button?
