Can we copy a CD tutorial onto an iPad? Does it work like the MacBook Air when downloading or copying using the iMac?

just bought an iMac and use iCloud. calendar appointments on iMac are displayed 24 hours out of sync with the iPhone. the iPad and macbook air pick up the same information correctly. why is this?

I just bought a new MacBook Air. In my old one, I could go from screen to screen by using three fingers to swipe over the key pad. This one just sits there. It is Yosemite. How do I set up preferences so I can use three fingers to move from screen to screen?

depening on what OS you're running you should be able to reinstall it without charge since it's part of the operating system. if running 10.6.8 or earlier you will need to use the applications install disc if there is one or if you only have one disc you can put it in and do a reinstall of the OS which will put the iphoto back on. if running 10.7 or 10.8 can sign into the app store w/ the same apple id that is associated w/ the mac and it should show in your purchases for you to reinstall it. you may need to click on the accept button if it appears next to the iphoto in your purchase listing.

Should I upgrade to the i7 processor on the 2012 11" Macbook Air?
I'm planning to get a new Macbook friday or so, and I'm curious to whether or not I should upgrade to the i7 processor in the 2012 11" Macbook Air. I do a lot of photoshopping and occasionally playing Sims 3, but aside from that it's just usual typing and social networking type stuff. Is upgrading to the i7 worth it and will I notice a difference? Or should I just go for upgrading the RAM to 8GB instead of the 4GB it comes with? I also am for sure getting the 256GB upgrade, as well as a case and external disc drive. Whatever the lowest pricing possible would be preferable to get what works best for me.

Unless while encoding video for 5 minutes, some 15 seconds is going to make a difference to you - I am not sure it's worth the money (only you can decide that..).
RAM. RAM. RAM is where you really should spend money. Also SSD, depends on your needs, you may run out of space quite quickly. These are elements that will give you additional year or two, and you can't* upgrade them in the future.
*) SSD technicaly can be upgraded, but it's much more difficult and requires you to purchase 3rd party SSD modules, and is considered non-upgradable by Apple. -
My girlfriend has recently purchased the new 13" Macbook Air (3rd gen Intel processor). It is the base model (ie. 1.8GHz i5 processor, 4GB RAM, etc).
I have checked on the autodesk website for their Windows 64-bit autocad system requirements and they all seem to be met, even to the recommended levels. However we havent actually tried running it because we havent gotten a copy of Windows on the machine yet. Also, she has a rendering software called Rhino, which ran fairly smoothly on my pc (its about 2 years old but was top of the line then), but I feel we are not up to par on the system requirement "OpenGL graphic card recommended".
If anyone could offer some guidance as to weather we should keep the MacBook Air it would be appreciated. I think the alternative would be to buy a Windows laptop because of cost, which wouldn't be nearly as exciting.It's not a hard core gaming rig, but it plays all the FPS games I like, quite well. It handles hi-def video, just fine. I use it for Photoshop, and it is quite fast. For web browsing, it has no equal. The 2010 maxed out 11" would do it all, except for some hi-def video (1080P), which it would stutter. But my new 2011 maxed 13", is perfect for video (1080P=no problem).
I really don't think a MBP will give you as much, on a daily basis. It (the MBP) has only a few advantages, and except for the built in optical drive (which you can still go external, if need be), none of the advantages you will miss even slightly.
I think the MBP would only serve me, if it spent most of the time deskbound, but I would still need an SSD. Once you have had an SSD, you can't go back. Then, you would have a really pricey MBP. -

-Photoshop, iPhoto, and other photography apps from the Mac App Store? (I just recently picked up a DSLR to get into for photography so I imagine I'll be using these programs frequently)

-Handbrake (how long does it usually take for an Air to rip a DVD?)
-Casual Gaming (The most intensive game I'm looking at is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Can the air run it?)
-Mail
-Internet (some online videos, etc)
With all these uses, would a i7 13" MacBook Air be able to handle all these tasks for me and perform them all reasonably well?Smiller,
I think the hesitation to answer comes from the fact that a good portion of your questions are at least somewhat subjective. I have the 13" i7 4 GB x 256 GB MBA, and I find the unit perfectly satisfactory performing most of the task you mention. However, I don't do all of them, all the time either. It's been a couple of months since I ripped a DVD, and I didn't time it. I think it took me an hour and a half to rip a two hour movie. On my MacBook Pro, which I recently sold, it maybe would have taken a bit over an hour to perform the same task.
Then again, for most of my tasks that I do everyday, the MBA would edge out the MBP. The SSD makes a big difference for certain tasks. Albiet, you could equip an MBP with an SSD and the advantage in certain cases would disappear, and the MBP would reign in all cases, except of course portability.
For your photo, internet, bit-torrent work you will probably find the MBA perfectly suited, provided the screen size is adequate for your taste. You see, we then again run into a subjective area.
What can I say, go to an Apple Store and give it a whirl. Find out first hand.
