Why Webservices? and not only http?
Hi,
why I cannot simply use http request, hit the URL and in response send the xml? whats the need of webservices?
I know some of the advanctages of web services is:
Platform independent but i guess we can achieve the same with http resquest and xml response as well.
Please put some light on the same.

My two cents
When you are just sending only one record then you don't need to worry about performance, because it will not vary much betwen normal http and web service.
Also when you are using http you need to write code to for the xml file and also the client which receives the xml file should decode the format. This will add additional work in both client and server side.
In Web services we can avoid that. Also even it is only one record it is always better to follow standardization for future work.

It is a scandal that it is not already a free iPhone app for the on screen converter....You should contact the company that makes the one for your computer and ask them to make an app for your iPhone. Apple only makes a couple of apps. The other million are made by people like you and I or by companies and are posted to the app store.

Hi, this Numbers is very great!! But there are 2 important features to add in "forms".
1. Most important is the possibility to search in a "form" and not only in spreadsheet. I don't know why they don't add this feature....
2. Possibility to input the excactly number of record that I want to watch in form.

HI i have macbook pro with OSX 10.8. I am facing typical problem with Wi- Fi , in school wi-fi it does'nt connects to http sites and connects only https as no security/proxy settings done but in home wi-fi it connects to all http and https sites. How to fix this problem as I am new this operating system. Please any one help me in this as I have installed Delicious Library which is not working in school becoz it searches amzon http site.
I would imagine that at school, you're required to connect through an HTTP proxy.
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. Enter the proxy settings given to you by the network administrator. Click OK and then Apply.

I can't log in the App store because am from Zambia which is not listed in Apple outlets. How do i go around this as apple products are used globally and not only in the listed countries. My product is a Mac book pro. i feel this limits how i can use my product
Unfortunately you have taken an Apple product outside of the area where Apple currently does business. There isn't legally a way around this. Apple cannot license apps to you where you currently live.

Did you move to iOS 8 via iTunes? Your photos should all be on your iPhone 5s without any issues even if you updated via WiFi. The update should have no impact on your photos other than to have moved any photos in your former Camera Roll to your Photos. When opening the Photo App you should see Photos and Albums available at the bottom of the screen. You can also look at Settings>General>About and looking down the list your should see the word Photos and a Count at the right. This count should represent all of the photos in your iPhone.

I just got the Zen Nano Plus gig for Christmas. i am having the exact same problem. I also downloaded the new drivers, but did no good. It will recognize my unit as a nano when i plugg it in, but when i go to the control panel under hardware, it says it in "UnSupported" I have tried everything. Did the sane as cadman. I removed all software and started all over again. There has to be an answer. i am somewhat PC savy, but this one has me!
I forgot to mention, when i load the software i get this message that "Moti've Monitor Service has encountered a problem and needs to close" and then i get the MS message that it closed and if i want to send MS the message. Not sure if that means anything.

How can I find out the overall time and not only the time of a single clip?
I have set up two cameras in one room. Both cameras record the same thing from different perspectives at the same time. I have found an interesting scene for video 1 (recorded by camera 1). Now I would like to find the time at which the interesting scene takes place in video 2.
However, I have not seen any way to get displayed, at what time the scene starts in relation to the total length of the video (e.g: scene starts after 5 minutes from total 10 minutes).
The indicated time refers only to a part of the clip and not to the overall project, even if a special clip is not selected. Does anyone know, how I can find out the time?Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup. It will be shown just below the Back Up Now button at the bottom.

How to get contacts in my Mac Book Pro (and not only on iCloud)
Hello. God Icould for contacts, works well between Mac Book pro (MBP) and Ipad .. but on the MBP I have only the "iCould" contacts and not the "on My Mac" contacts.
So when I connect my blackberry to grab Mac contacts, none are transfered as the balckberry seems to locate only the contacts on the Mac Book (not the ones on iCloud).

Ensure that nothing is typed in the search field.
Click to select the first contact and shift-click the last to select them all.

Make sure your On My Mac account is your default account (preferences > general).

Drag the file you previously dragged to your desktop back onto Address Book.
You might want to back up all your contacts before you begin.

RegardsThe reason to require a JDK or our bundled jre+tools.jar is for the plsql debugger. The debugger use the jdi apis which are not included in the stock jre. If you never intend on using the plsql debugger you can use a jre and everything else will run just fine.

Please bare with me, i know a lot has been written about what VPLS is, I have read the postings, but maybe someone can in simple terms answer my qn for me;
Why should one go for VPLS and not L3 VPNs or L3 VPNs and not VPLS, i need arguments from both the enterprise point and the ISP point

+No need to involve the ISP for routing issues
+Support non-IP protocols - IPX, AppleTalk etc..
-Difficult to troubleshoot
-Possible to make a L2-loop
-Customers could overflow mac-tables.
L3-VPN:
+ISP control the routing process - or the customer could control the CE-PE, and control it's own routing.
+Loops are avoided with routing-protocols
-Non-IP protocols have to be encapsulated to work
Personally I liked the VPLS best before, but after choosing an ISP supporting PE-CE-protocols, not using static's and has a good support centre, I always recommend L3VPN's.
Also within our own MPLS-network we always use L3. (with no 7600's VPLS is not supported...) EoMPLS is not used permanently used within out MPLS, but could be used for moving a customer from one datacenter to another, or other special timelimited purpose...

HSRP / interface tracking and not only

HSRP provides nice feature of tracking an external interface, while taking decision with regard to active HSRP router election.
What I would like to ask you is as follows:
In my network all routing decisions are based on Layer2 protocol (NSAP addresses in ATM). On a top of this, I have pure IP network without any dynamic routing protocol (neither OSPF nor BGP is not supported on ATM boxes). Now I would like to bring ATM interface down for a gateway, which does not work as an active HSRP router.
As I mentioned before Layer2 takes a decision for traffic a traffic flow. Im afraid under certain circumstances traffic may hit ATM interface attached the standby router. So what next? Wont be properly routed via HSRP pair. Is my understanding correct?
I would like to have activated only one ATM interface running on active HSRP router, on the standby line protocol should be down. When HSRP re-election process takes place, newly activated router becomes active and in the first order changes protocol line to active. Is that possible?
Just as a last remark, ATM interfaces are monitored (tracked) only. Standby group is configured on Ethernet ports.

HSRP 'tracking' feature is solely to take down the 'HSRP STATUS' to up or down and it has no bearing on the actual line protocol state of the interface.
So if you desire that HSRP should bring down the ATM interface, then that is not possible. HSRP tracking would only change the 'priority' of that interface and not bring it down/up.
