Why won't itunes 7.0.2 install on my computer properly?

hi, i've been trying since the start of the new year to install itunes onto my computer without any luck. from the website and the download screens it says it has downloaded properly and even the desktop shortcuts show up, but when i double click on them an hourglass shows up and then nothing. i have mozilla firefox and windows xp professional on my computer. i have also tried all the suggestions on this website but still nothing. when i uninstall intunes, after its worked it says do i wish to restart computer, but this never comes up after installing. i think this may have something to do with the problem but i'm not sure what else. if anyone has any ideas or has had the same problem please let me know especially if you know how to fix it. thanks heaps.

Try my solution in this post. I finally was able to get iTunes 7 to work without any problems. The only thing I can figure is that you need to completely uninstall itunes, Quicktime and delete any files that reference Apple software.

Make sure you also run ccleaner after a thorough uninstall. That will clean all temp directories. You also need to move your music files to a temporary folder until after installing the new iTunes.

So I keep getting the update .exe on my computer and stuff, then starting the installation process but a little while in a message pops upsaying "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. Hi. My itunes 10.5.2 won't install either. Im using an Apple macbook Pro. (It seems to be somthing with this laptop, as we have one exactly the same and it installed fine)
Does anyone have ideas on what I could try please? Problem being computer is waiting forever to "install" and then just stays suck like that for days, (that's if I'd let it). I wonder if it's got anything to do with authorisiation which also seems to have a bug:
It reads :
"There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required file was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed."
I've tryed to deauthorize but it comes up with the exact same message as above.
Can anyone help pls with installing 10.5.2 Itunes?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if a component such as Apple Mobile Device Support won't install normally.

I've checked to make sure in iTunes that the Podcast Sync box is checked and it is. I've tried checking communities and tried several suggestions and nothing seems to work for me. Everything else syncs except Podcasts. I can't figure it out. Any suggestions to get Podcasts syncing to my iPod Touch again? Thanks!

One other step I've tried was removing and completely reinstalling the playlist to the iPod. That cleared up the problem for about two days.

Why won't itunes load on travelmate 290

I have an Acer Travelmate 290 and although I can download iTunes on it, it refuses to work properly.
I cannot sync to it and all the features are not present.
Can anyone help?

Click where it says 'Subscribe in iTunes'. When the page opens, click 'View in iTunes'. When iTunes opens and shows the Store page click 'Subscribe'.
If that doesn't answer it, you need to give more details as to what exactly you are doing.

Why won't Itunes let me use my store credit to gift an item

I want to gift a couple songs to my boyfriend, but when i try to gift the songs it asks for my credit card information. i have over $100 in itunes store credit from gift cards. i want to use that money to purchase the songs i will be gifting. why won't itunes allow that? i looked up tutorials and gifting should be easy and all you submit is the other person's email but thats not happening for me.

Is it actually prompting you for a credit card, or just asking you to verify billing details? Due to recent security issues and identify theft (mostly due to phishing scams), the iTunes Store seems to be requiring more frequent verification of billing information, even if you have a balance from a prepaid card. Go into the Payment information in your account and set the payment method to "none", if it's not already, which should then stop the regular requirements for verification. It may still ask - mine did for a while - but you should just be able to click through the buttons without problems.
By all means, though, if you prefer eMusic, use that service.

Why won't iTunes Store adopt the Google approach of no questions asked refunds within 15 mins if you aren't happy with an app? I have countless apps that I have lost money purchasing because after installation they don't do what I want.
ITunes ripping the public off, one app at a time!

It either A) shows me a white screen where the store should be, B) shows me the white screen with iTunes Store written in the middle or C) actually shows me the store, but as though it can't read all the sophisticated coding and wants to convert it into just plain ol' HTML.
With those symptoms, I'd check through the following document:

(I've seen C reported before with the Bigfoot Networks variation of this sort of business.)

This gets especially annoying because if I tell Itunes to store my "media" in my user/music folder, Itunes will then create a folder named "music" in my "music" folder and will also create additional folders in my user/music folder location to store other non-music media in as well. It is very annoying to see this lack of affinity for folders between two Apple created programs.

Why won't my Macbook recognize the install disk? I want to run the Apple Hardware Test, but the computer will not boot from the install disk, it keeps ejecting the disk.

Several possibilities -
The disk may be from a different model of computer.
The disk itself may be damaged.
The optical drive in your MacBook may have gone bad. Can it read other DVDs?
