Will purchase items continue 2 download if I'm watching other stuff on TV?

I know that my iTunes Library will not sync to my  TV until I stop watching something on it. Basically, no  TV activity if I wanna sync.
And since  TV can function as an independent device sans Mac, I'm not sure whether if I can watch a TV show or music video and let a purchase item or rental to download in the background.
Why I ask? Well, rented a HD movie and went on to watch two TV shows. After the TV shows, I returned to check on the rental download and I got an Error -50. Now, I quit all TV activities and just let the rental to finish download. Wish I could do these simultaneously.

I was wondering the same thing. I rented a movie and watched something else on AppleTV while it was downloading, and afterwards went back to the rental only to see it had paused downloading and was at the same percentage as before I started watching something else. I had assumed that it would keep downloading in the background, but I guess I was wrong. Surprising.

I don't think you understood what I wrote. You don't HAVE to pay for everything if you are happy with using the other account for updates, etc. But if you don't want to do that then you will have to buy new copies of everything for the new account. There's only one purchase item per account, but you can redownload an item in the account many times.
The idea is this:
One computer, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
One user, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
The basic idea is that each user has an Apple ID under which he/she can manage multiple devices on a single computer.
Once you step outside of that model you create such problems as not being able to use or update apps purchase under one Apple ID when using a different Apple ID. Or not being able to easily sync one device on more than one computer.

No. When you put your computer to sleep/hibernate, download will stop functioning.

I purchased a movie for download but have to watch online causing buffering

I Purchased an ipad movie I was given the choice download now or later, I chose now but when replaying it buffers and I have to watch it in parts, this is irritating.
ive never had this with previous movies, what could be wrong am I watching it online what can I do to correct this?

I would start off with Firefox's Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then look for unwanted extensions and try the Remove button.
If the Remove button is missing, this usually means the extension was installed through the Windows installer. In that case, check for it in the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Clicking the "Installed on" column header will bring the most recent additions to the top for easier spotting.

Saving Purchased Items

I understand that I should make a backup of my iTunes Store purchases by writing them to a CD/DVD.
There doesn't appear to be a facility within iTunes to make a backup to any other media (i.e. External Hard Discs or Flash Drives) which seems rather odd.
Is it sufficient to just copy the files to an External HD/Flash Drive and if so will they be able to be imported into iTunes as purchases?

You can authorise up to five computers at a time to play purchased items such as films and TV shows. You don't need to deauthorize a machine first, unless you have already reached your limit of 5. iTunes Plus music tracks will play on any machine authorised or not. Obviously it is up to you to ensure they are still being used legally I.e for your own personal use. See here for more info

The items shown as Purchased are simply tagged as purchased item to make it easier to distinguish from other tracks - iTunes Store terms make it clear you are responsible for backing these up yourself in case of loss.

I can't see a purchased item on either my iphone or my iPad

Strange, because I bought other songs in the past, and I see them "everywhere".
But now, I have just bought a new album, and it is not in my ipad, not in my iphone, not in Apple TV.
Yes, the computer is authorised and yes, I can listen to it in my computer.

When I close my watch, or watching a video, video downloads continues to close my firefox. Watch other video players such as Quicktime video link I do not see this problem.

You can't change the Apple ID that the Authorize dialog comes up with by default. It's showing you that Apple ID for a reason: it means that the items you want to play were purchased using that Apple ID and therefore you need to authorize your computer with that Apple ID. Changing the Apple ID given completely defeats the entire purpose.
If you don't know the password to the given Apple ID, then you will no longer be able to play those items.

if your MacBook Pro doesn’t stay active long enough to perform an OS X Internet Recovery, then you should make an appointment at your nearest Apple store or Apple-authorized service provider to have them diagnose what’s ailing it.

I have gone into purchased but next to each title it merely says 'downloaded'. I need to download them again. It will cost a fortune to re-purchase the corrupted music!

I tried that but it just shows 'downloaded'. There is no little cloud next to that wording. On an Itunes help page it shows a 'library icon' once you have logged in but that does not appear on my version of ITunes which is 11.1. I have lost so many peices of music!
