Window that asks if I want to leave page

Quite frequently while surfing on the web and I go to leave the page I'm on I get this pesky little window that asks me if I'm sure I want to leave this page. How can I keep this thing from popping up because in most cases I have to click on this thine 50 times before I'm able to leave the page. It's very, very annoying.

You can try a bookmarklet like this:

JavaScript code can't be run from the location bar anymore, so you need to create a bookmark with the code pasted in the location field.

Can you bypass the window that asks if you want to open or save attachments? I always open them the same way.

I would like to be able to turn off the window that asks me if I want to Open this file or Save it. I get many attachments from the same place and I would like to be able to bypass this window, as I always do the same thing -- open it.

We have been receiving a lot of pop up windows whenever using our new Mac and it always asks if we want to clean up our Mac and then the box says "Continue". I am very suspecious of this and cannot find out if it is for real and don't want to select it to see what happens. Can anyone help give info on this? OS X has got its own maintenance scripts to keep your computer work correctly, so there's no need for cleaning apps.
To get rid of those messages, remove all the temporary files from Safari. Open Safari, go to Safari menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Privacy, and choose Remove All Private Data

Do you mean "how do you rip a CD to iTunes?" If so, just insert the CD into the optical drive of the MBP, launch iTunes, edit the ID3 tags to show what you want, then click the "import" button in the lower right corner of the window.

It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.

Hi. Downloads has changed; I cannot open or download attachments. I don't get the window that asked "Open" or "Save" either.

When I receive an attached document (Word or OpenOffice), I click on it. I get a Norton Antivirus window that says it's clear and I click on the yellow Download button. Then nothing happens. 1. I don't get the windows that asked Open? or Save?. 2. The documents are not in the Download folder. 3. I reset the downloads to my Documents folder - nothing appears there either. 4. I search my iMac with the file names, and no results show up.

OK, I'll take you through what happens. When I click download firefox 4 I get a pop up window that asks "what should Firefox do with this file?"
Below I have two choices:
_Open with (choose)
_Save File
So I go to choose and pick an application.
So I choose Acrobate Reader 5.0. Acrobate gives me a popup that says "Acrobat could not open firefox 4.0-4.dmg because it is either not a supported file type or because the fire has been corrupted....
So I try download again (I should point out that I am currently running Firefox 3.6.16) The popup that asks me to choose a file to open firefox 4.0.dmg pops up again.
So I choose Adobe Reader 9. Nothing happens. So I cancel.
So what application should I go to to open Firefox 4.0.dmg

I just updated my original iPad 32 GB WiFi to iOS 5.1 about fifteen minutes ago. But I did it with the system restore feature in iTunes. So it wiped out everything on my iPad. But it did work. Then I restored an earlier backup and all went fine. Maybe you could try backing up your iPad and then using Restore to get it back to factory settings to see what happens.

In the past, when I clicked to "close" Firefox and multiple tabs were open, I would get a box that asked if I wanted to save all tabs in my Bookmarks . Now I don't see this option.

Apparently the only way to bookmark all tabs now is to use some clunky key combination. Why have you made it more difficult to use?
I have given all the details that I know how to give. I can find no place that I can check a box or otherwise tell Firefox to bookmark all open tabs under the same new bookmark folder entry.

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows. 
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:

Pop up blocker not working. Blocking windows that I don't want it blocking.

I now have Ad Blocker 2.4 and Ad Blocker Plus Pop-up Add On 0.9.1. , and I have the Block Pop-ups box checked in FF options. Recently FF stopped notifying me, (via the bar across the top of the window, which also asked whether I wanted to allow the window), when a popup was being blocked. More recently still, something seems to be blocking some links from opening windows. This doesn't always happen but it seems that perhaps it happens more often when .pdfs are involved. Have I done something wrong? Is the a conflict with the Ad Blocker stuff and the newer FF upgrades?
I guess that there also might be a problem with Adobe since .pdfs seem to be involved. Anything you can do to clear this up would be greatly appreciated. OS is Win7 64

No longer have window that asks to import duplicates

I no longer have the window that opens when I import that asks whether or not I want to import duplicates or only the new photos. How do I get that window back? I now have to trash all duplicates.

that info is stored in the pref file.
Drag the iPhoto pref file to the desktop and relaunch iPhoto and see if you get the duplicate dialog box back.

With iPhoto open, from the menu bar click iPhoto / Preferences then select the Accounts tab.
If you see Facebook on the left select that then click - (minus)
Quit then relaunch iPhoto. See if that makes a difference.

Windows keeps asking if I want to allow the program to make a change even though cc 2014 is installed.

Just installed CC 2014. It shows in my Start menu with the install shield. Whenever I attempt to open CC 2014, I get a dialogue box asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and can't get it to go away.

This would only happen if you never installed it with sufficient administrative privileges and the user permissions are not set correctly. therefore reinstall it as admin.

Suddenly my Firefox app changed. When I am on Facebook it CONSTANTLY asks if I want to change pages, even if I am just browsing a picture album. And I have trouble comments or moving among pages. The Link buttons appear to be inactive.

I get a grey box every time I click on anything in games or picture albums, or moving among applications, asking me if I want to change pages. I went to Tools/Options/and made sure I had the "warn me when sites want to redirect me" turned off, and "load pages automatically" checked. Also, the links for comment seem to be inactive. I click on links and nothing happens. It works fine on Explorer so I am thinking something about Firefox is wrong.
