Windows 8.1 Crashes with Dumps from desktop

I have experienced a number of crashes on a PC with Windows 8.1, and have analyzed the mini dumps and one full dump so far, and have seen a myriad of different crash results including IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.
I've posted the raw dmp files, as well as txt files of the results from running them through the debugger here...
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F1640CE12DEBCE6B!130&authkey=!ABlrD4zyv8gT_SU&ithint=folder%2ctxt
I've ran memtest86 very thoroughly on the RAM with 0 errors, I've updated all of the drivers, ran chkdsk on the HDD, and cannot find any glaring errors, and the computer still seems to crash at random points in time with different applications running each
time. The computer is a custom build if the components matter, and each of the component can be found here...

There is a very specific problem.  The HD.  I would go the HD maker and download their HD checking utility and run it

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff6fb400a1f28, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000000e, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 000000010d7b1880, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: fffff680143e5000, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

I will also try to catch a full dump next time it crashes.

  • Safari/Firefox crashes on upload from Desktop

Hello,  Safari crashes when i try to upload something from desktop. Also happened to firefox. Seem like finder have problem. Any idea how to fix it ?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Strange crash with photos from Picassa

I came across a problem today that I can't explain. When I download photos from a specific site on picassa and each time i imported them into iphoto it crashed. I received the same photo from the person who put the photos up and it was fine but when I downloaded the photo onto my desktop from Picassa and then dropped onto iphoto it crashed. when i resized the photo in photoshop and saved it it was fine and when i imported a different file, a large tiff file that was fine.
I'll post a part of the crash log if anyone can see something I can't.
    Thanks

This looks like a version of the Color Profile bug that afflicts iPhoto since the last update to it and Quicktime.

  • Windows 8.1 Problem with games from windows store.

I've got a problem with games from windows store. The installation is going well without any problems, however when I try to open it it's loading and then it turns off. The same problem happens when I try to use Games for Windows. I've use a sfc scan and
it shows some errors but unfortunately it cannot fix them. Should I share the CBS log or find the solution somewhere else? I hope you help, best regards.

    Hi,
According to my experience, the problem like store game app open failed probably caused by hardware driver. such as Audio and Graphic driver. So, first of all, please try to reinstall these two driver to fix this problem for test.
In addition, for SFC scan failed problem, it can be caused by many reasons, I would suggest you use another command to fix your system for test.
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Also you can test SFC command in Windows 8.1 safe mode.
Thirdly, if problem persists, please check Event Viewer, generally speaking, it would record the app open failed events.

  • Windows Live Messenger crash with Adobe Flash Player

    operating system : Windows 7, 64
browser: Mozilla Firefox (latest version. I have problems with WLM's latest version).
    Flash Player version: 10.1
Everytime I install Adobe Flash Player for Windows Live Messenger (it has to be done by Internet Explorer) the Messenger crashes with no message. It just goes white and I can't even close it (I close it with the Task manager). I also have Messenger Plus! installed.
What's the problem? I have a Windows XP (32) with the same Messenger, Flash Player and Plus! version installedand I don't get the crash.
    Thanks for your support.

    Let me explain it better:
A message appears telling me that I need Adobe Flash Player. Y Download it for Internet Explorer (becaouse it doesn't work with Firefox's plug-in) and I install it with no programs opened. Then, once is installed, I open Windows Live Messenger and at first it goes well... but then, after 1 munute or so (maby less) the program goes white (not the hole computer, just the Messenger) and that's cause it has crashed.

Just upload the document from the desktop and attach it to your e-mail.  There are thousands of posts on this forum about sending e-mails and document attchments - what exactly are you stuck on?  Is it getting the the path to the Desktop without the user picking the location?  Why is that difficult?

  • Windows 8.1 crashing with a blue screen each time I play youtube video.

The crash dump points to netio.sys. I am unable to determine if it is related to netgear driver for wg311v3( PCI wireless adapter card). there is no driver available for windows 8.1 and I had to do a hack to install this driver.
Can you please take a look at my crash dumps and let me how to resolve this.

    Hi,
According to  the "Bugcheck Analysis", it is related to your network (NIC) driver or the wireless (WiFi) drivers.
As you said, I think it may be caused by PCI wireless adapter driver.
I suggest you uninstall this driver to narrow down the issue.

  • Imovie crashes with photos from Iphoto

I recently purchased a mac computer with the latest software. I wanted to import photos from my Iphoto library into Imovie and make a movie. Each time I try to do so Imovie crashes.
The first time I had the error and the first time I used Imovie, here is what I did:
    1. I opened Imovie
    2. Clicked on "show or hide photo browser"(the camera icon on the right).
    3. It said it had to create a thumbnail for videos in Iphoto library and did so.
    4. I clicked on the photos to scroll through them.
    5. After looking at a few photos, Imovie crashed.
All other times I had an error here is what happened:
    1. I opened Imovie
    2. clicked on "show or hide photo browser"(the camera icon on the right).
    3. Imovie crashes.
If anyone has any thought on what is going on and how to fix this problem please post, Thanks.

  • Need Help with switching from Desktop to Laptop for Iphone 4s.

I have an Iphone 4s and I was wondering if it is possible to go from a desktop to a laptop and be able to sync my phone and be able to save everything that I have on my iphone and be able to transfer it to my laptop, such as pics, texts, contacts, apps etc. I have already synced over my music from my desktop to my laptop via flashdrive, i have over 4,000 songs and im not looking to do something like that again. If anyone could get back to me and please let me know if there is a simple solution for this problem that would be great.Thank you.

You can import pictures from the camera roll to the laptop, you can also create a backup of the iPhone on the laptop, which will take your texts. You need to either sync your contacts to a supported application on the computer, or you can use iCloud. Apps are part of your iTunes. You would need to transfer the purchases on your Apple ID to the new laptop and iTunes. Remember to authorize the computer before you do this. Just remember, the first time you go to sync the phone to the new iTunes, it is going to tell you that the phone is connecting to a different library and that you would erase all the music, but since you have moved all of the music to the new laptop, that won't matter.

  • Windows 7 periodically crashed with my Mac Mini since 1.5 months ago.

Using Mac Mini late 2012 I7 CPU. Windows 7 Ultimate (authentic). Last version bootcamp. Have been running Windows 7 Ultimate since 2013 and was very stable and reliable. A month ago all in a sudden it crashed and not even using an image recovery could get it to work. Deleted the windows partition and re-installed Windows (a few times) using latest bootcamp drivers (3.5), but since then Windows keep crashing every 2 weeks or so.  The good thing is that using image recovery can bring it back to life (for a while). Installed programs are minimal: Office 2010 (authentic), Windows Essential 2012, Norton 360, open office, 7-zip, Photoshop element 9 (authentic), Filezilla etc..very minimal but still having the same problem. any suggestion? Anyone?

Sorry for taking so long to reply on this issue, too busy.
    It is still happening.
First confirmed that after using Windows disc image to recover, the Event Viewer is recovered to older dates so there is no record of the crash.
Strange is that when I used AHT to test the hardware (last week), there was no error at all but today there are, frequently (almost once every hour), this error in Event Viewer:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0.
Looking at the Event Viewer, this error happened on 26-Feb, 28-Feb,2-Mar; I recovered the windows using 6-Mar image on 8-Mar.
Would this be the cause of the problem?

The syncing of music is one way, computer to phone. See this helpful document from a fellow user. Credit goes to the author.

  • Itunes 10.5 crashes with no error when trying to play any music, video, or import/scan from the library folder on the compter with Windows 7 Pro.

Fresh install with all older itunes un-installed as well as other Apple software.
Now cannot get any songs, videos, or even scan library folder for songs to work on the computer.
itunes just simply crashes with no error comments.
This is itunes 10.5 on a Windows 7 Pro system.

Same here, though on XP. Have tried cleaning registry, reinstalling, deleting preferences. Created a new user with no library and I have the problem there, too, so it's not the library.
Is there no one to call about this??

  • Clean install of windows 8 crashing with BSoD: "attempted execute of noexecute memory"

I recently bought this computer (sorry for hyperlink, but it is much easier than trying to list all the components):
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227593
I added a Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD to it, and then I attempted to do a clean install of windows 8.1 onto the SSD from
the reinstall DVD that came with the system. Windows 8.1 appears to install correctly, but when the computer restarts to load windows for the first time, I get a BSoD with the error "attempted execute of noexecute memory". I tried reinstalling, but
    got the same error.
Note that for testing purposes, I installed windows 7 on the SSD, and it works great. Unfortunately, I do not have a windows
7 key, so this is only a temporary solution. I would like to figure out how to get windows 8.1 on the SSD and running on the my computer.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice that you can give me.
